DTP initialization

I have an extrange problem, I have a cube A wich load other cube B. Before the migration to BI, deltas were doing by infopackes but after the migration we changed to DTP, so we delete in cube B all the request from cube A and reininitialize with DTP from CubeA to cube B. When I deleted the requests in cube B you could see that in cube A there were not any request with the flag of datamark out set except the first request that was still set, and when I executed the DTP delta to cube B, I had all the request from cube A but not the first one, so I missed a high number of registers, i dont finf out the way to restore the delta manage from cube A to cube B. I hope you cal understand the situation.
thanks to any one.

Hi Jaime,
You should create a DTP by right clicking the destination cube. You should put as source cube the first cube (A). Before you activate it in the extraction tab - extraction mode select the option DELTA. This way every time you execute this DTP, only new data will be loaded in the second cube
Hope that helps

• DTP initilization

Hi,
How do we do initialization in DTP?
is possible do initialization in DTP? do favor for me.
REGARDS
-sreedhar

Hi Sreedhar,
Yes, surely we can do DTP initialization in SAP BI.
If you run any DTP with extraction mode 'delta' then it will work as 'init with data transfer', i mean to say it will pick all the data from source and sets the delta indicator.
If don't want source data and like to set the delta time stamp(same as init without data transfer) follow the below steps.
1) select extraction mode as delta.
2) goto execution tab and change the processing mode to "No data transfer; delta status in source: fetched"
now run the DTP. it will work as Init without data transfer.
If you are using BW 7.3 version, then in extraction tab it self you will have option "init with out data". check this option and run the DTP.

• DTP reinitialize re-initialize

Is it possible to re-initialize the delta on a DTP? If so, how?
Example: I'm using DTP 1 with delta to load data target 2. If I delete data from data target 2, how do I reload the data from DTP 1 and start with a new delta?

Hi,
There will be No PSA maintained for Open Hub.
Just the new records added to the Cube will be Extracted from the Infocube.
Check this URL.If you Select the Delta.
and In your Example If you have Deleted the Cube Data and Schedule the DTP after loading the Data to Cube It will Pick all the Requests and Sets a Delta flag and Next time if you run the DTP The Latest Delta will be Extracted to Your File.
And the Delta is Possible from Infocube and ODS.
Go through this URL.

• New field added to cube, delta DTP from DSO to cube is failing

Dear all,
Scenerio in BI 7.0 is;
data source -delta IPs-> DSO -
delta DTP---> Cube.
Data load using proces chain daily.
We added new field to Cube --> transformation from DSO to cube is active, transport was successful.
Now, delta from DSO to cube is failing.
Error is: Dereferencing of the NULL reference,
Error while extracting from source <DSO name>
Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: Fieldname, value DATAPAKID)
my conclusion, system is unable to load delta due to new field. And it wants us to initialize it again ( am i right ?)
Do I have only one choice of deleting data from cube & perform init dtp again ? or any other way ?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Akshay Harshe

Hi Durgesh / Murli,
Thanks for quick response.
@ durgesh: we have mapped existing DSO field to a new field in cube. So yes in DTP I can see the field in filter. So I have to do re-init.
@ Murli: everything is active.
Actully there are further complications as the cube has many more sources, so wanted to avoid seletive deletion.

• Delta in DTP(BI 7.0)

Hi, all,
I have an ODS ZODS01 which data have been loading into it for more than one year, now I need a new ODS ZODS02 to load data from ZODS01, but I don't need the historical data from ZODS01, only need new daily data when this ODS put in production. In BI 7.0 DTP, there is no option to do initialize without data transfer as in 3.x infopackage. So how can I acheive this?
Thanks a lot.

HI ,
Like delta transfer using an InfoPackage, an explicit initialization of the delta process is not necessary for delta transfer with a DTP. When the data transfer process is executed in delta mode for the first time, all existing requests are retrieved from the source, and the delta status is initialized. And then DTp will pick deltas only ..

• "initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" is not available in DTP (0AFMM_C02)

Hi Experts,
We are working for BI implementation for AFS Industry,
when we are working on AFS specific inventory cube 0AFMM_C02 , we are facing stock mismatch problem
for AFS Stock initialization we are using the data source 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION instead of 2LIS_03_BX, this data source is specificly designed for AFS
when we are extracting the data using 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION for stock initialization and
2LIS_03_BF data source to load the Moments.
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with No Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF historical data load(by selecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF Delta data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
Now we are facing stock mistach problem, we found reason for this
"initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option is not available in DTP only Delta & Full options are available
and infopackage of 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data source also has "Full update" instead of "Generate Intial Status"
Please let us know how can we get the "initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option in the DTP level.

Hi Chandrakumar,
We are facing the same problem, how do you solve it?

• DTP Questions: Delete overlapping requests; Repair Full Request

Hello,
I'm new with the DTP concept in BI 7.0.
It is clear to me how DTP is working for normal loads like: full, delta, delta without data transfer etc.
But I don't see where I can specifies "Delete overlapping requests". Is this still possible in a DTP, or is it only possible by creating a Process Chain and insert the process-type "delete overlapping requests" ?
Also I have a question about "Repair Full request" using DTP. Is this option still possible ? Or do I have to create a DTP with extraction-mode = Full => Extraction from Active table. => Is delta than still working ?
Thanks for your input,
Wim

But I don't see where I can specifies "Delete overlapping requests". Is this still possible in a DTP, or is it only possible by creating a Process Chain and insert the process-type "delete overlapping requests" ?
This option is available only in Process Chains when u use DTP's.

Full Load was made Repair Full to Initialize if loading an ODS but however you dont need to worry abt the same in Netweaver 7.0 as DTP is taking care of the loading from PSA to DSO.
Initialization can be done after a full load as the load is only till PSA ( At Datasource Level ).
DTP doesnot require any initialization.
U can jst do a Delta DTP after a Full DTP to a DSO or u can even start with a Delta DTP directly.
For the first time -> Delta DTP = Full DTP !!

• Delete the initialization of delta on open hub table

HI Gurus
I have loaded data from cube to open hub table using DTP with full update, later on i have loaded the data using a DTP with delta update. Now i am thinking that delta has been initialized on the open hub table, so now want to delete the initialization of delta on the open hub table. It would be great if some one could send me the response.
Thanks
Rohit

Hi Sam,
If I understand you correctly,
You have removed your Initialisation by going InfoPackage --> Scheduler --> Initialization Options for Source --> Removed the Request
Then you did Init without Data Transfer
Then you have the option from init withoout Data transfer to Delta in InfoPackage and Loaded the Data.
Check in the Process Chain the InfoPackage you have mentioned in the selections may pointing towards Init load instead of Delta.

• BI - DTP activation issue

Hi, Gurus.
Good day.
We have performed a refresh of our BI system and all its connected source systems to build our QA landscape. All post
processing steps were peformed in accordand to OSS note 886102.
However, in RSA1, a lot of DTPs are still pointing to the old logical source system. We have tried to reactivate the affected DTP but got the following error:
-Transformation does not exist (see long text) RSTRAN10
-Error saving Data Transfer Process DTP_<>
We have applied the ff notes and rerun BDLS and RSBKDTP_BLDS (with Force Conversion option) but the issue still persists.

• Initilization in DTP's (How it works)

HI,
I want to set Delta Loads to my Cube from PSA
(PSA-->CUBE)
Info Package is full load....
For Deltas i didn't find any Initilisation Option in DTP....
In order to set deltas...do i need to perform my first load to CUBE as Full and Later set it to Delta
Please explain me in a bit detail
Thanks

Hi BW USER,
please see the solution:-
" want to set Delta Loads to my Cube from PSA
(PSA-->CUBE)
Info Package is full load.... " <----problem
if you wish to load delta from PSA to cube then PSA should have the delta but in your case PSA gets Full load and hence the problem.
The DTP'S will simply pick up the requests available in the PSA which are not updated in the Cube( If you select Delta in DTP ) and so The DTPs are also picking full load .
Solution1:
Source system>>(delta)>>PSA>>CUBE.
1. schedule a Delta load use the following steps:
a. Full load from source system to BI then run DTP which will pick the Full load req in PSA to cube.
b. initialize w/o transfer delta loads.
c. Run the deltas infopackage to get delta in PSA then DTP to get this delta in CUBE.
Solution2:
Source System>>(full load)>> PSA>>dtp to ODS>>dtp to CUBE.
This model only requires a ODS in between your CUBE and PSA.
A DSO always generate Delta in change log table so if you keep this ods as a source to your CUBE you will always have deltas in your cube.
Hope this Helps.
Revert back if you still have sm problem

• DTP Born with Incorrect Real-Time Status

Hi Gurus,
What am I doing wrong? When I create a DTP for Real-Time Acquisition, I am getting "Real-Time Status" as "Incorrect" even with a DTP Type correctly set for Real-Time. I have no option to change it for following status:
- New, Without Data Package
- Ready
- Transport Package Read
- Transport Package
- New Transport Package to be Deleted
- Stopped
- Active
- DTP/Infopackage to be closed
I am having quiet few problems to set up DTP with Real-Time Data Acquisition.
Kind Regards,
Gilson

Hi
Not a Guru ,but wanna give it a shot..
Prerequisites for creating Infopackages -
Check
1)The DataSource for which you want to create an InfoPackage supports real-time data acquisition.
2)If you are transferring data into BI using the service API, you have already created an InfoPackage for initializing the delta process for this DataSource, and have completed the initialization.

Closing Requests in the Monitor for Real-Time Data Acquisition
Prerequisites
The daemon is inactive or has errors.
Procedure
In the context menu of the PSA or DTP request, choose Close Request
Barring all those steps mentioned above if I copy you properly ,I put 2 cents on the authorization issue related to RDA.
Check OSS note- 943898
IF at all the note applies to you ,since the patch is not released ,have to go ahead with correction instruction.
Hope it Helps

• Full or delta at DTP

Hi
i am extracting data fromECC 6.0 to BI 7.0
i created 3 infopackages
full
delta initialization
delta
so i need 1 dtp is enough
at dtp i need select delta only.
what scenerio we use full dtp only?

Hi Sunil,
Basically, FULL DTP (or) Full Loads are used to load Master Data and small volumes of data. Full Loads are also used when the Data Target is loaded for the first time with data ( though Init can also be used for the same purpose in case Delta is to be followed with ). Their could be scenarios where U want to make a Full Repair, I think during this case also a Full Load is taken.
I hope this solves your query.
Regards,
Syed.

• DTP Types..?

Is there not Init DTP, is it only full and delta because thats what I see when I open up a DTP.
So no need of any initialization in the case of DTP?

Hi Gurus,
I have a basis doubt..
I am running a process chain daily with FUll and DELTA in DTP..
Though its Delta, it is taking the same time as FULL.. May I know what is the reason for this.. I have not kept any options in the DTP Selection.. What option should I take.. If I am not selecting any option what it takes automatically
Thanks in advance

• Error "Overlapping selection criteria with DTP" when transporting DTP

When transporting a DTP from Dev to QA I get the following error in the trasnport log:
Overlapping selection criteria with DTP DTP_4APJZSGKYQLUQYBCDBWK707JO
Message no. RSBK019
Diagnosis
The selection criteria for the DTP to be activated overlap with the selection criteria of DTP DTP_4APJZSGKYQLUQYBCDBWK707JO in field , for example, with regard to value . Delta transfer from a source object to a target object is only allowed to transfer each record oncce. However, this cannot be guaranteed if two DTPs have overlapping selection criteria with the 'Delta' extraction mode.
System Response
You cannot activate the DTP with the current selection criteria.
Procedure
Restrict the selection criteria so that they do not overlap with the selection criteria for DTP DTP_4APJZSGKYQLUQYBCDBWK707JO.
The DTP is a delta process which loads data from one infocube into an DSO. I understand that the error is that it is transporting the Delta parameters (something similar to a Delta initialization of infopackages I suppose) but I don´t how to access the information of the delta (selection criteria) of a DTP.
Any suggestions? or similar experiences?
Thanks in advance
nicolá

Hello,
You can modify a parameter to create and modify dtp in Production. Like normally is done with Infopackages. There is no reason to make the changes in Dev in the Infopackages and DTP, and transport to Production. This transports normally cause that kind of errors because the id's are different in Dev, QA and Prod, and it is difficult to change dtp in that way.
To change the parameter do like this:
Execute Trx. RSA1 -> Transport Connection -> Tab Object Changeability -> Change DTPA to Everything Changeable.
Do this in Dev, QA and Prod.

• Standard datasource do not work with Delta DTP

Hi,
0MAT_PLANT datasource is connected to an infoobject and a datastore
object. The DTP into the infoobject manage the delta but the delta dtp is not supported for the Datastore transformation.
The following message occure:
"Update mode 'Construct Opening Status' is usually not permitted for updating a DataStore object. With the update modes 'Initialization of the Delta Process', and 'Delta Update', whether an update to a DataStore object update is permitted depends on the delta process,."
When i create a specific extractor i do not face the problem.
Is it possible to use delta DTP to populate datastore with datasource using E delta process?
thanks for your help,

Hi Viermont,
Did you check the OSS Note: 973475 - No delta extraction for materials in ODS object
Symptom
During the delta extraction of data for the following DataSources, the system issues error message RSM1 113 ('Cannot update DataSource &1 to a DataStore object').
0MATERIAL_ATTR
0ARTICLE_ATTR
0MAT_PLANT_ATTR
0ART_PLANT_ATTR
0MAT_SALES_ATTR
0ART_SALES_ATTR
0MAT_ST_LOC_ATTR
0ART_ST_LOC_ATTR
In update mode, you want to update the DataSources with delta procedure E to an ODS object as the data target.
Other terms
RSM1 113, RSM1113, RSM1(113), ODS, delta procedure E, roosource
Reason and Prerequisites
The ODS object update is not permitted with delta procedure E for the 'Initialization of the delta method' and 'Delta update' update modes .
Solution
Carry out the following steps for the 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR or 0ART_PLANT_ATTR DataSources (for customers using the industry solution retail).
Carry out the same steps for the other DataSources, but use the following program in step 1:
0MATERIAL_ATTR or 0ARTICLE_ATTR      --> Z0MATERIAL_ATTR_UPDATE
0MAT_SALES_ATTR or 0ART_SALES_ATTR  --> Z0MAT_SALES_ATTR_UPDATE
0MAT_ST_LOC_ATTR or 0ART_ST_LOC_ATTR --> Z0MAT_ST_LOC_ATTR_UPDATE
1. Implement the attached Z0MAT_PLANT_ATTR_UPDATE program and execute it in your OLTP system.
2. Use transaction RSA5 to activate the 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR or 0ART_PLANT_ATTR DataSource in your OLTP system. Open the following nodes:
SAP-R/3 -> LO -> LO-IO
Select the 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR or 0ART_PLANT_ATTR DataSource and choose 'Activate DataSources'.
3. You can use transaction RSA2 to check the 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR or 0ART_PLANT_ATTR DataSource. The delta procedure should be NEWE.
4. Replicate the DataSource in the BW system.
To do this, call the Administrator Workbench in the BW system and display the DataSources for the relevant source system. Find the DataSource in the DataSource overview and replicate it.
Bye
