DTP reinitialize re-initialize

Is it possible to re-initialize the delta on a DTP? If so, how?
Example: I'm using DTP 1 with delta to load data target 2. If I delete data from data target 2, how do I reload the data from DTP 1 and start with a new delta?

There will be No PSA maintained for Open Hub.
Just the new records added to the Cube will be Extracted from the Infocube.
Check this URL.If you Select the Delta.
and In your Example If you have Deleted the Cube Data and Schedule the DTP after loading the Data to Cube It will Pick all the Requests and Sets a Delta flag and Next time if you run the DTP The Latest Delta will be Extracted to Your File.
And the Delta is Possible from Infocube and ODS.

Init. Delta load in BI 7.0?

Hi, Experts:
I just changed to a new BI application team. We have a delta load from ECC into an ODS then into a cube. I thought that there must be an initial delta load before the daily delta load. But I don't see init delta load request when right click the ODS/cube then select "Manage". The application started to load from January 2008. I have put the request display date to sometime 2007 then click the refresh button. But still could not see init delta load. From the very 1st load till date, I only see all are delta loads. Is this some thing new in BI7.0 that init delta is not needed any more? Or something is wrong?

Hi,
that's right, there is no special request for Delta/Init.
The DTP can do it itself at the first time.
If you want to check which DTP is the Initialization, you can go on the DTP log, and in the header you will see "Extraction Mode" -> Delta.
If the corresponding DTP request is the init, the flag "Delta Init" is ticked.

DTP initialization

I have an extrange problem, I have a cube A wich load other cube B. Before the migration to BI, deltas were doing by infopackes but after the migration we changed to DTP, so we delete in cube B all the request from cube A and reininitialize with DTP from CubeA to cube B. When I deleted the requests in cube B you could see that in cube A there were not any request with the flag of datamark out set except the first request that was still set, and when I executed the DTP delta to cube B, I had all the request from cube A but not the first one, so I missed a high number of registers, i dont finf out the way to restore the delta manage from cube A to cube B. I hope you cal understand the situation.

Hi Jaime,
You should create a DTP by right clicking the destination cube. You should put as source cube the first cube (A). Before you activate it in the extraction tab - extraction mode select the option DELTA. This way every time you execute this DTP, only new data will be loaded in the second cube

2lis_03_bf and 2lis_03_um Reinitialization precautions?

hi experts,
My client is Using 0IC_C03 Inventory Cube since December 2009. they have generated Opening balance at that time and initialized the 2lis_03_bf and 2lis_03_um data sources and doing deltas.
but the problem is that they have deleted the Init requests from the Target cube and they wanted to analyze the data from Day 1 which is December 2009. so client wanted to delete the complete data from cube and reinitialization has to be done.
My questions are
1          is do i need to Generate the Opening Balance again for 2lis_03_bx??? or not required? if required what are the Selection Criteria i have give while filling setup tables in MCNB TCODE.
2          2lis_03_bf reinitialization Steps like i will extract the Initialize with Data transfer, what are the steps i need to perform after DTP Extraction into 0IC_C03 cube? tell me exactly how to take care of Marker Update.
3         2lis_03_UM reinitialization Steps like i will extract the Initialize with Data transfer, what are the steps i need to perform after DTP Extraction into 0IC_C03 cube?

2lis_03_bx - ECC SIDE - Do we need to select the Transfer Structure (2lis_03_bx) as well in MCNB and which Radio Buttons i have to select (only valuated stocks, All Stocks (Including non_valut), and what about Zero stock to be transferred do i need to select ?), and what about Time of termination how much i have to give??
for example - i am filling up setup tables on 01-10-2010 at 10.00.00 how much time i have to give at Time of Termination??
BW SIDE - Client has generated the Opening Balance, but when i look at the PSA Data it shows that no Data, but requests are

Just now i tried in Quality System - There are 30596 records in RSA3, and after DTP extraction in the Cube there are about 50000 records and there are routines in the Transformations?? will it any problem??

New field added to cube, delta DTP from DSO to cube is failing

Dear all,
Scenerio in BI 7.0 is;
data source -delta IPs-> DSO -
delta DTP---> Cube.
Data load using proces chain daily.
We added new field to Cube --> transformation from DSO to cube is active, transport was successful.
Now, delta from DSO to cube is failing.
Error is: Dereferencing of the NULL reference,
Error while extracting from source <DSO name>
Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: Fieldname, value DATAPAKID)
my conclusion, system is unable to load delta due to new field. And it wants us to initialize it again ( am i right ?)
Do I have only one choice of deleting data from cube & perform init dtp again ? or any other way ?

@ durgesh: we have mapped existing DSO field to a new field in cube. So yes in DTP I can see the field in filter. So I have to do re-init.
@ Murli: everything is active.
Actully there are further complications as the cube has many more sources, so wanted to avoid seletive deletion.

How can I limit the fonts in the Character Map (charmap) and reinitialize the state after use?

In a WPF application I have a RichTextBox in which users will be inserting text. I also must give the user the ability to insert characters. To do so I have called up charmap.exe using

etc., and it works fine. There are several problems I have basically with charmap, however, not with WPF. The first is that because of the subsequent use of the user’s insertion in the RTB, I must restrict the font to “Ariel Unicode
MS.” So far all I have been able to do is instruct and warn the user not to change fonts and
change back any font change that occurs as a result of use of “Advanced view” features.
Question number one is, how can I restrict the fonts loaded into charmap to this one font? The second problem is that if another font is called up, or the “Advanced view” state of charmap is closed, or a “Group by” feature is opened, these choices will
be retained for the next user that opens charmap. How can I initialize the state of charmap for each new user with the correct font and “Advanced view” features showing. It is said,but in old posts, that reinitialization occurs for all but administrative users,
but this seems to be no longer true. I have tried permission changes in charmap’s Properties, but I can’t get the necessary reinitialization to occur even if user’s don’t have modify permission. Can one use a .ini file, or the .mui file, or make Registry changes
to accomplish my goals. There seems to be a warning in the .mui file about changing fonts, but is it cancelled? I am using Windows 7 and C#.
I have looked at other character maps but they are either too complicated for the casual user, or they have no search engine and advanced features, or they have the same problems.
I am pretty much a novice with respect to the Windows files use and WPF, so please be fairly clear, complete, and prescriptive in your answer. Also so that I and others can learn, it would be nice to have an explanation of why one does whatever you suggest.

Delta in DTP(BI 7.0)

Hi, all,
I have an ODS ZODS01 which data have been loading into it for more than one year, now I need a new ODS ZODS02 to load data from ZODS01, but I don't need the historical data from ZODS01, only need new daily data when this ODS put in production. In BI 7.0 DTP, there is no option to do initialize without data transfer as in 3.x infopackage. So how can I acheive this?

Like delta transfer using an InfoPackage, an explicit initialization of the delta process is not necessary for delta transfer with a DTP. When the data transfer process is executed in delta mode for the first time, all existing requests are retrieved from the source, and the delta status is initialized.And then DTp will pick deltas only ..

Unable to Initialize Volume Manager from a Configuration File

I'd like to reattach a D1000 to a rebuilt system. The array contains a raid 5 partition that was built with Solaris Volume Manager (Solaris 9). Since it is the same system all controller/target/slice ids have not changed. I was able to restore the Volume Manager configuration files (/etc/lvm) from a tape backup and followed the instructions provided in the Solaris Volume Manager Administration Guide: How to Initialize Solaris Volume Manager from a Configuration File <http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/816-4519/6manoju60?a=view>.
All of the state database replicas for this partition are contained on the disks within the array so I began by creating new database replicas on a local disk.
I then copied the /etc/md.cf file to /etc/md.tab
# more /etc/lvm/md.tab

I then tested the syntax of the md.tab file (this output is actually from my secomd attempt).

Not seeing any problems I then attempted to recreate the d0 volume, but it fails with the error below:

metainit: <hostname>: /etc/lvm/md.tab line 4: hsp000: hotspare pool is already setup
Any suggestions on how to reinitialize this volume would be appreciated.

We are working for BI implementation for AFS Industry,
when we are working on AFS specific inventory cube 0AFMM_C02 , we are facing stock mismatch problem
for AFS Stock initialization we are using the data source 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION instead of 2LIS_03_BX, this data source is specificly designed for AFS
when we are extracting the data using 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION for stock initialization and
2LIS_03_BF data source to load the Moments.
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with No Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF historical data load(by selecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF Delta data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
Now we are facing stock mistach problem, we found reason for this
"initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option is not available in DTP only Delta & Full options are available
and infopackage of 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data source also has "Full update" instead of "Generate Intial Status"
Please let us know how can we get the "initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option in the DTP level.

DTP Questions: Delete overlapping requests; Repair Full Request

I'm new with the DTP concept in BI 7.0.
It is clear to me how DTP is working for normal loads like: full, delta, delta without data transfer etc.
But I don't see where I can specifies "Delete overlapping requests". Is this still possible in a DTP, or is it only possible by creating a Process Chain and insert the process-type "delete overlapping requests" ?
Also I have a question about "Repair Full request" using DTP. Is this option still possible ? Or do I have to create a DTP with extraction-mode = Full => Extraction from Active table. => Is delta than still working ?

This option is available only in Process Chains when u use DTP's.

Full Load was made Repair Full to Initialize if loading an ODS but however you dont need to worry abt the same in Netweaver 7.0 as DTP is taking care of the loading from PSA to DSO.
Initialization can be done after a full load as the load is only till PSA ( At Datasource Level ).
DTP doesnot require any initialization.
U can jst do a Delta DTP after a Full DTP to a DSO or u can even start with a Delta DTP directly.
For the first time -> Delta DTP = Full DTP !!

Initialize the shared variable

"From the issue description it seems that the Shared variable needs to be reinitialize.
Create a formula to initialize the shared variable value and place it in appropriate section of the Main Report based on the section in which you are displaying shared variable value of the Subreport." (post from Poonam Thorat 7/7/08)
This is a solution to my problem. However, I'm not sure how to initialize the shared variable value nor do I know where to place it in the appropriate section of the main report. Therefore, what should the formula look like and where should it go in the main report?
Can anyone help me with this?

If you want to create and initialise a shared variable, create a formula like this
For this example call this forumula Rate
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar Rate := 1.5; // this can also be a field
If you needed to use this shared variable in the Details section, then you would place the Rate formula in the Report Header, or Page Header (above Details so that it is created before the Details section is created)
In details lets say you have some other calculation - Commission
The Commission formula would look like this
whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar Rate; // a shared variable must be referenced in each formula that it will be used. It is NOT being initialised or set to any value here, just referenced
{table.fieldname} * Rate
Place the Commission formula in the Details section and Rate will be for each record in the report
The same process applies for passing values from main report to sub report and vice versa
There is also plenty of info in the Help and online about using shared variables

PL/SQL Library Reinitializes. WHY??

Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.16.1 (Production)
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.4.0 - Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 8.1.7.4.0 - Production
I have a PL/SQL library that is attached to three forms.
Form A and Form B invoke Form C via a procedure in the library using
CALL_FORM(
form_name,
NO_HIDE,
NO_REPLACE,
NO_QUERY_ONLY,
SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA
The problem is Form A works properly, but Form B causes Form C to execute the package initialization block which resets all the global package variables.
NOTE: Form C updates library globals in the PRE-FORM trigger. It is the first assignment to any library variable that causes Form B --> C to reinitialize the library.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Yes all three forms have the same library attached.
Forms A and B handle transaction processing.
Form C handles payments for those transactions.
The library has a package that handles payments and returns.
Forms A and B invoke form C via a call to PACKAGE_NAME.PAYMENT

Form A is working as expected, but invoking Form C from Form B is somehow causing the re-initialization of the package.
This occurs the first time the library is referenced in Form C. It just happens that the first reference is in the PRE-FORM trigger.
I can go in an out of Form C many times from Form B and each time the package is re-initialized.

Delete the initialization of delta on open hub table

HI Gurus
I have loaded data from cube to open hub table using DTP with full update, later on i have loaded the data using a DTP with delta update. Now i am thinking that delta has been initialized on the open hub table, so now want to delete the initialization of delta on the open hub table. It would be great if some one could send me the response.

Hi Sam,
If I understand you correctly,
You have removed your Initialisation by going InfoPackage --> Scheduler --> Initialization Options for Source --> Removed the Request
Then you did Init without Data Transfer
Then you have the option from init withoout Data transfer to Delta in InfoPackage and Loaded the Data.
Check in the Process Chain the InfoPackage you have mentioned in the selections may pointing towards Init load instead of Delta.

Help: NWDI 7.2 CBS build problem - initialize compartment-broken DCs

Hi all.
I am facing a problem with CBS build due to broken DCs - invalid dependencies. I have read all the articles and notse related to this issue, but cannot not solve is. Has anyone faced this issue or know a solution?
The problem:
In one SC I have a DC A, which used to have public part PP_A.
In another SC I have a DC B, which used to depend on public part PP_A of DC A.
As part of implementation, the PP_A in DC A was deleted and replaced by new public parts. The changes are checked in and activated in NWDI successfully.
Next, the DC B was corrected, its reference to PP_A was deleted and replaced with appropriate replacements.
I checked in the activity correcting the DC B. Activation fails, because CBS complains that DC B has invalid dependency. I assume that the CBS cache still holds the old sources.
I took the compartment where DC B is located and triggered a CBS Reinitialize compartment (which should discard the cached sources and load a fresh copy). The CBS Reinitialize compartment request fails too! The log shows the same message as the build log: invalid dependency.
It seems that during reinitialize, CBS checks the validity of the DCs in the compartment BEFORE it does clean its cache and refreshes from DTR.
In DTR, I can see the sources of DC A and DC B checked in correctly in the inactive branch, the .dcdef in DC B contains correct references to new public parts of DC A.
Does anyone know how to force CBS to refresh its sources from DTR where correct sources are checked in?

Right.
Its not the CONS, it's the active from DEV which is used. I sort of don't understand the NWDI concept then, maybe SAP could learn a little from Hudson, CruiseControl you name it.
Apparently, as I found out after some trial and error, the checks done before the build AND before the initialize compartment run on sources from ACTIVE branch. So the check-ed in fixed sources of the DC B are ignored by CBS. It then complains about the invalid dependencies all the time.
Finally, although it looks very scary, I activated the soure code changes of the dependent components (I hade a lot of them, not just one) with the "Activate even if the build fails". Then the initialize compartment did not complain about BROKEN components because of dependencies, because the check of metadata succeeded and the components were rebuilt.

ACS 5.4 database view reinitialization question

Hello all;
Yesterday, we had a potential issue with the database view. When I tried to look into the dashboard, it kept giving me an error and said that the database view was unavailable. I pinged every device, and was able to remote into the logging device. I have notes from the previous TACACS admin, who advised that it is sometimes required to reinitialize the database view.
So, after running the patch to get into the Linux kernel on the 3415 logging server, I was preparing to launch the commands. But in his notes, he put " Soapbox" and made some side notes about doing this. He indicated that he would take the logger out of the environment, and put it as it's own primary instance first. Then, once it was working stablely, he would then re-initialize the database. Once done, he would re-add the device to the distributed environment. So:
I dont know if the screen shot uploaded. However, let me describe. When you go into System Admin>Operations>Distributed System Management, it shows you the primary instance, and the list of secondary instances below. I'm thinking that you put a check mark next to the device you want to remove, and click on the button "deregister". That "should" take it out of the distributed system. I'm guessing then that you can promote it to be it's own primary device. Then, log into it via CLI and re-initialize the database.
The main question I have is this: if I deregister it, does it fall off the list? Or does it get grayed out, so it can be put back into the distributed environment? I'd just had to deregister it and it fall off, and I dont have any of the settings or anything saved to put it back in.
Help appreciated :)

Unfortunately, database replication (trigger update) cannot be performed as it requires both the ACS boxes to run same code.
If you meant migration then yes that can be done.
