DTR Server  is unreachable.

Hi,
I am not able to login in NWDS in the track created in the DTr or DC perpective.I am getting the error as:
DTR Server  is unreachable.
Please suggest.Its urgent.
Regards,
Rajani

if you run http://<server>:<port>/ if that does not give a web page then thats a fair indication your system is either still starting or is in trouble. As NWDI takes a couple of minutesmax to start the applications (as opposed to a portal)  then I would expect a return on this fairly soon after startup.
It may be that the URL/Port is wrong or there are connection issues.
You can use the stand alone log viewer or the log viewer in visual administrator to look at the dtr logs and the default.trc logs also for issues but a restart first is always good.

  • Build server is unreachable, DTR server is unreachable

    Hi experts,
I have configured NWDI succesfully and created tracks also.
When I tried to login in NWDS in Development Configurations perspective it is giving the following error.
    Build server http://<hostname>:50000 unreachable
    DTR server http://<hostname>:50000 unreachable.
    Thanks
    Vardhan

    Harsha,
    That is different reason.
In our case, the server was http://FQDN:5XX100
XX is the instance name in which the J2EE Engine is installed.
Unreachable means the port is not opened.
Check the ip and the message server port are available for use.
The same problem was faced by us.

  • Macromedia application server is unreachable

Hi, we are running a virtual server (p2v) copy of our
    production and dev CF6MX sites.
The virtual copy of the dev server, works fine.
However, in production we are getting the dreaded "Macromedia
application server is unreachable or it does not have a mapping to
process this request" server error. Our prod server was installed
differently as it was originally intended to be a load-balanced
server so the services in prod have "Macromedia" in their names,
    not in dev.
I've re-booted the server, restarted IIS, ran the
bin/jrun.exe utility, and am still getting the error. The jrun
utility yielded this message: "warning Could not find valid
replication peer- assuming this server is first server running in
replication group." I'm not sure if this is a show-stopper or not.
I also looked at the server log and nothing looked awry.
Any other ideas ? I've checked the forum here, and someone
posted a link for this, but the link was dead...

"warning Could not find valid replication peer-assuming htis
server is first server running in replication group" is telling you
this is the first instance to start up. Not a big deal (unless
you're expecting other instances to be there already or this wasn't
the first instance you expected to start).
If you changed the name of the server or IP addresses during
your p-to-v process then the xml files may be trying to contact the
    wrong IP addresses.
When I get the application server is unreachable error, a
quick iisreset or restarting the World Wide Web Publishing service
will fix it. Sometimes a race condition happens and IIS and JRun
seem to grab the connector at the same time and that error ends up
    showing up.

  • How to create DTR server, first steps...

    Hello,
I would like to start using the DT feature.
I see that when I create new Client at my NWDS I am being asked to enter the DRT Server URL. Does this comes with the portal installation (I am using NW 04 SP 11) or should I install it separately? Can anyone please give me "first steps" towards the DT?
    10X,
    Roy

Ok, here is the info about the plug-in.
    +
    Using the DTR Administrator Plug-In
    Use
The DTR administrator plug-in is an enhancement of the DTR Eclipse client. It allows you to comfortably execute administrative tasks in the DTR.
    ·        Maintaining the user authorizations for DTR resources
    ·        Integrating activities
    ·        Displaying technical properties
    ·        Creating workspace folders
    ·        Creating workspaces
    ·        Creating folders
You can execute several of these tasks, such as creating workspaces and workspace folders or integrating activities, also in the command line client of the DTR.
    Prerequisites
    ·        The user has administrator rights for the respective DTR server.
    ·        The DTR administrator plug-in is installed and activated:
Maintaining the User Authorizations for DTR Resources
           1.      Open the context menu for the DTR resource (for example, in one of these views: Repository Browser, Open Activities, Activation View, Closed Activities, etc.)
           2.      Choose View Permissions.
    The Permissions view appears.
For more information, see User Authentication and Authorization.
    Integrating Activities
           1.      Open the DTR view Closed Activities.
           2.      Select one or more activities.
           3.      Open the context menu and choose Integrate to...
    A dialog window appears.
           4.      Select the target workspaces.
           5.      Confirm with OK.
    Displaying Technical Properties
           1.      Open the context menu for the DTR resource (for example, in one of these views: Repository Browser, Open Activities, Activation View, Closed Activities, etc.) and choose Technical Properties.
    Creating Workspace Folders
           1.      Open the context menu of the DTR root node or the workspace folder node (for example, in view Repository Browser) and choose Create Workspace.
For this action, no activity is required.
    Creating Workspaces
           1.      Open the context menu of the DTR root node or the workspace folder node (for example, in view Repository Browser) and choose Create Workspace.
For this action, no activity is required.
    Creating Folders
           1.      Open the context menu of the workspace node (for example, in view Repository Browser) and choose Create Folder.
For this action, no activity is required.

  • DTR API, how to access DTR server from own program?

    Hello Expert,
we have a requirement to download some source code from the DTR server using our own program (not the SAP standard DTR Client integrated in NWDS). My question is: does SAP provide some kind of API for accessing DTR server?
I know there is a command line DTR client, but what we need is to send the command to DTR server from our own program to download some source code, after download our program will  then process the source code.
Anyone has idea how that would work? The best is that SAP provides API to access DTR server. Not sure if we can call the command line DTR client from our program (technical should be fine, but this is not the best way).
    Appreciate any input.
    Thanks
    Jayson

    Hi Jayson,
If your program language of your own program supports opening files with an URL name and saving those files locally, you can use the WebDAV protocol to access the DTR.
But beware of developing your own DTR client implementation: all the handling of activities - propagation lists - inactive/active workspaces - (blob) metadata - versions - integrations of activities, etc. sounds to me very tricky.
If your programming language of your own program supports executing OS-commands, try executing the DTR tool located in the tools directory of NWDS. It supports executing a list of DTR commands listed in a script file. Perhaps this satifies your needs.
Hope this helps your decision making.
    Regards,
    Alain.

  • Switching one DTR Server to other...

    Hi,
I had configured one DTR server in my NWDS and it was working fine. But now the development needs to be done on the other DTR server.
I have changed the URL at "development configuration pool" and created a new client for the new DTR server. But when I try to login with the user of the new server, the authentication is getting checked with the previous server only and hence its failing. The error is: "Build Server <previous server>: Invalid Username and/or Password"
Can anyone please sugesst me what needs to be done in order to change the build server to the new one.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mausam

    Hi Sidharth,
Thanks for the reply. By creating same user I'm able to login to the new DTR. But, I'm getting some errors while importing configuration.
The error is : "com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.CIMClientException: HTTP response code: 403 Forbidden"
And the solution in this way doesn't seem to make sense to me. What if I want to scrap the previous DTR server and want to totally switch over to new one? Do we have any reference file where in I can change the DTR server name and completely remove entries for the previous one?
    Regards,
    Mausam

  • Server becomes unreachable

    Hi,
I installed vsftp, apache, php, and mysql on a laptop to play around with as a server. The problem is that the server becomes unreachable after a certain period of time, even if I am connected to it. When I am connected to it, it happens more often than when not.
I believe it is going into some sort of sleep mode because the problem is resolved after I hit the power button on it. The weird thing is that it does not turn off, i can hear the cooling fan when it is unreachable. I had a similar problem with a debian server which was caused by acpid, the solution was to uninstall acpid but the current computer doesn't have acpid or any other power manager utility installed.
The server is connected directly to the router and I am accessing it over LAN. I don't believe it to be a firewall issue.
Maybe the interface is being put to sleep somehow after a certain period of time?
I have searched the forum and googled for the last 2 days, haven't found a similar problem.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    croivzeba
EDIT: Forgot to mention I did not install any DE or WM.
Last edited by croivzeba (2012-06-24 08:27:47)

It can't be a BIOS issue because only the basic settings are available.
Lately it has not become inactive during transfers but it did become unresponsive some time when I was not home. I will check the logs in the morning to see how often I have rebooted.

  • JMS Module, Foreign Server: Destination unreachable

    Hi,
In our OSB setup we have 2 weblogic domains (on RHEL5), one for hosting the OSB services and one that is used solely for the purpose of JMS messsaging.
Therefore we have configured a Foreign Server in our JMS Module on the OSB Domain with following config:

    * JNDI Connection URL: t3://fsb-jms1-dev:7901,fsb-jms2-dev:7901

In my search for a solution I've also read that this could be caused by a bad configured DNS server. Therefore I configured my /etc/nsswitch.conf file to contain only the property files under the parameter hosts.
Following is an extraction of my /etc/hosts file:
    10.16.85.50 fsb-jms1-dev.localdomain fsb-jms1-dev
    10.16.85.51 fsb-jms2-dev.localdomain fsb-jms2-dev

    10.16.85.53 fsb-osb2-dev.localdomain fsb-osb2-dev
Does anybody have an idea how I can further debug this problem?

    Hello,
I am new to using VM and having problems with a VM Server staying at unreachable. I look at the xend and it appears up.

Is the agent service start by issue 'service ovs-agent status'? You can issue 'service ovs-agent stop' and 'service ovs-agent start' to make Oracle VM Agent start.

  • Wrong DTR server selection....

    Hello All,
Please help me understand this concept:
    Am working on 2 sneak preview portal versions...EP6 EP15 & EP7 SP7.
    1. Had initially configured and created DTR client for EP7. Now I have created a new DTR client for EP6. So I can see 2 DTR clients under DTR menu in NWDS.
    2. Have changed the SAP J2EE Engine config to that of EP6 server & Message server post.
    3. Updated the Java Development Infrastructure -> Development Configuration Pool & its pinging (EP6 server URL)
    Question:
Now everytime I try to login into DTR of EP6, the prompt window shows that it getting connected to EP7 server. Why so?
To confirm this, I created a new DTR client of EP6 server & after entering userid passowrd the prompt window showed ...Checkign userid and password....for EP7 server.....
Am totally confused....from where is the EP7 server DTR coming here.....
Hope I am clear with the query.....
    Please guide.....
    Awaiting Reply.
    Thansk & Warm Regards,
    Ritu

    Hi Siddharth,
I have deleted all the DTR clients & then created just one that points to EP6. Iniitally I was not able to delete the clients coz I was logged into DTR but then I accessed NWDS without loggin and it worked.
But now I see something more.....
I created a new & single DTR client named newDTR_EP6.
After I log into DTR (via NWDS), I see another client named EP_AD0 and its the default one....
    How does this happen?
    Any inputs???
    Awaiting Reply.

Could this be because of having both jdev and Eclipse set up on my local machine?

Did you add a BPEL Process Manager connection in JDev ? Go to Connections - Navigator, add a BPEL Process Manager Server (use the wizard) and add the server. Test the connection. If you refresh now, it'll show you the server where you can deploy to.
