Dts 610

Hello I have Inspire T7900 7.1 Speakers and I want to connect them with ! Is that possible without the PC?This is the a simple diagram I want to do: TV-->DVD player(so far so good)-->-->Inspire T7900 7.1 Speakers. Is it possible so I would buy ? In fact I wanted to buy DDts 100 but I can't buy it from Greece where I live! Are there any suggestions? Thanks

In addition to the analog inputs (which must be used from a Creative X-Fi), there are both Coaxial & Optical SPDIF inputs to the DTS-610 (providing your DVD player has a SPDIF out), then use either the Coaxial or Optical outputs to connect to your T7900's. Check the DVD's SPDIF output (if any) for compatability.

  • DTS-610 with Logitech Z-

    Hi everyone,
just got the DTS-60 Home Theatre Connect and connected it properly with me Logitech Z-680 Sound System (DTS Decoder is integrated in the user panel). But it does not work! The display just says "Detecting...", so it seems the Decoder can not properly recognize the DTS signal. I've got my configuration double checked, everythings fine. My Config:
Audigy 2 connect with 3x minijacks to the DTS-60
    Volume at max
It just does not work I've tried the DTS-60 on a Kenwood DTS Recei'ver and it worked, so it cannot be broken.
    Anybody help?

From my information the DTS-60 is encoding in DTS with samplingrate 44.kHz. Maybe your speakers cannot work with that samplerate (used also on the DTS-CD's).
The other DTS variant is with 48kHz samplerate and is only on DVD's.

  • DTS-610 required to hookup to hometheater? Oh puhLEE

I just picked up a X-Fi Platinum which is an upgrade to my SB Li've! 5. with Digital IO module. My PC speaker setup is the Logitech Z5500 (currently an analog connection).
I used the SB Li've! 5. Digital IO module to deli'ver digital audio to my JVC RX-8000V home theater receiver via digital coax cable (before that was a fiber optic cable connection). That seemed to work fine, except the receiver never seemed to be able to decode a DTS or dolby digital signal - the signal came through in digital though, and it sounded fine in stereo or surround modes.
Now, when I use the X-Fi Platinum and use the same digital coax cable to the front planel SPDIF Out I get a crap signal on the JVC. If I have the JVC set to stereo, the sound is crap (garbled and weak) and when I set the JVC to surround, the sound comes through more clear but very faint; I have to crank the volume almost to max to hear anything above 40db it seems. Also, I don't get sound to the rear speakers.
Now I see there's an upgrade available. Do I really have to buy another gadget to get 5. out of my hometheater? I bought the Digital IO card for the SBLi've5. but that never game me a true dolby/dts 5. signal. I've got a core beef with CreativeLabs for this reason... I honestly don't know why i keep buying CreativeLabs' cards. For years I've wanted 5. from my SoundBlaster out to my JVC. I almost got it with the SBLi've5. and now I seem even further from it.
Hypothetical CreativeLabs Marketing Guru: "Now with SoundBlaster you can get TRUE 5. audio straight to your 5. hometheater with yet another accessory!" -cha-ching $$
    I mean c'mon! @ http://ca.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=207&product=49
    Creative suggests:
"Without DTS-60 connecting your PC to your home theater involves long, messy cables, cable extenders and the chore of figuring out how to connect the multitude of cables to the back of your receiver."
Gi've me a break. The X-Fi card as it is could have easily been designed to accomadate a connection to hometheater receivers. Why buy an extra module to do what could have been built right into the card? It would seem the answer is an obvious: "So CreativeLabs can make more money"
But I don't work for CreativeLabs, I'm just one of millions of other consumers - so what the *&@# do I know.Message Edited by F4eyes on 2-30-2005 02:4 AMMessage Edited by F4eyes on 2-30-2005 02:6 AM

D'oh! I figured out why my signal was so bad on the JVC. I set the SPDIF Out Sampling Rate to 96KHz instead of 48KHz. 48Khz sounds fine now.
I just need to get true 5. now... Hmm

  • DTS-610 *INSTEAD* of Digital I/O Module: A Solution

Since it appears the much sought after Digital I/O Module is not, and possibly never will be, available to U.S. customers, is it possible to use the DTS-60 in its place?
Agreed, it would be a rather expensi've alternati've, however it WOULD (or would it's) provide the same Digital Optical & Coaxial outputs as the Digital I/O Module, CORRECT?!?!?
If I use the DTS-60 say, with my Li've! 24-bit PCI card, set BOTH the card and the DTS-60 to pass-thru, would it not supply the Dolby Digital 5. ENCODED signal (from the software DVD player) to my Logitech Z-5500 speakers w/built DECODER?
Or, in another scenario with an Audigy 2 card, set the software DVD player to passthru, let the Audigy 2 DEcode the 5. signal and send it on to the speakers via Digital Optical or Coaxial?
Someone (CATHERINE? DANIEL?) please offer up some advice on this as it just MAY be the workaround I've been looking for...
    THANKS!

If you mean using that silly "FlexJack", there is no OPTICAL capability there, plus I would have to change connectors from 'this' to 'that' to 'something else' before it ever reaches the decoder, which has RCA Coaxial and TosLink Optical...
Keep in mind, we're talking about the Li've! 24-bit Series (for now)...Message Edited by Jo6Pak on 0-3-2006 09:46 PM

  • DTS 610, would like a little more info!

First of all, I'm glad to finally see Creative have decided to offer support to those enthusiast that would like to use their own HIFI speaker system, instead of a PC speaker system....thumbs up!
However, I have a few questions/worries to this new unit.
What are the specs of the ADC's?(like: bit conv. resolution, SNR, THD...) Remember HIFI systems are of higher quality than PC speaker system. Which translates in lower quality sound being more noticeable!
And secondly, I'm a little worried with the latency. 50ms sounds high to me...
When I'm using my MIDI keyboard with Reason and chooses a 50ms latency. The delay between me pressing a button and the sound to come out of my speakers is very noticeable, resulting in annoying me.
I'm fearing this scenario will repeat with a very fast action game(just examples: Counter Strike/Unreal Tournament series).
Have Creative tested and made sure, the delay is not noticeable when firering a gun in a fast action game?(I'm guessing you have...but I want to be sure! )
    Cheers!
Edit: Christ, I shouldn't be posting this late, my spelling goes to hell...

  • X-fi Gamer\Vista Ultimate 64\Creative DTS-610...any of you gurus know what the problem may

Hi everyone, well, like many of you, I patiently waited for the "new" drivers to be released on March 8th, and was sorely dissapointed that they didn't do much more than the Beta version. Mostly what I wanted, was to have 5. through SPDIF. (My SACD player takes up the analog ports on my home ent. reciever, so this is why I require SPDIF). So, as much as I hated to give more of my money to Creative, I went ahead and bought a DTS-60 to be able to connect the analog output of my X-Fi gamer... to the DTS-60.... to digital "in" on my reciever. Ok, Windows seems to work... I can play movies ripped to my HD and get 5.. (I am a little disappointed that the DTS-60?it is only DTS and not also Dolby Digital, but at least it is 5.)?HOWEVER, when I try to use?any of the Creative?software for testing, I get the right rear speaker playing through the right front, and the left rear seems to play through the center channel. But if I test it in Windows control panel, each speaker plays as it should!?I have looked through all the settings in creatives software and do not see anything that would cause this.
Also what is strange, is that a SACD (super audio CD) will play all 5. channels EXCEPT the left rear. While I am a technical professional (got my Cisco CCNA cert today ;-) I don't pretend to know a lot about sound cards. The PC I just built in which I use this card is the first I have built since SB 6 days. So, I thought I would ask members of this forum who have more experience and are up to speed on the latest sound card technology. So sound card Guru's...Any Ideas on what to look for? Thanks

This is a bump. I hope these ''moderators'' see this and do something about it.

  • DTS-610 connection to Dolby Digital Receiver without DTS feat

    Hi,
I have a JBL ECS 333 sound system (amplifier + speakers) with Dolby Digital 5. support and digital inputs (optical + coax.). It has not DTS label on it - just the Dolby Digital! Will the DTS-60 work with my system.
    Thanks,
    roku

    roku,
I'm afraid you will need a receiver/device that's capable of decoding DTS in order to work with the DTS-60.

  • Converting analog 5.1 (multiple cables) to Digital DIN (for Inspire 5700), how?

    Hi,
So far I've been using my Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speaker system together with my Audigy Platinum in my Desktop PC to watch DVDs and play games with a 5.1 experience. To connect soundcard and Speaker system, I used the provided Digital DIN cable, and it worked fantastically, for both, DVDs and games.
Now I bought a notebook and the only choice to improve onboard sound was the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook. I thought that I could simply connect it to my Inspire 5700 by connecting optical out with optical in using a TosLink-Mini -> Toslink cable. While this may work for DVDs (I don't have the cable yet), it won't work for all other applications, because as I read optical connections only provide a stereo signal unless the signal it'ss encoded via AC3 or DTS.
Of course there is the docking module which provides multichannel analog out. Trouble here: the Inspire 5700 only comes with two analog line in channels, front and rear. So that would lead to 4.0 instead of 5.1. Missing the center speaker for games is very bad.
Therefore I am looking for a way to convert the analog signal coming from the docking module into something that can be decoded as a 5.1 signal by the Inspire 5700. I have already found the DTS-610 which would turn the analog signal into a DTS signal. But that costs more than the soundcard itself.
So, my question: Is there any simpler / cheaper way how to transform multicable analog 5.1 to one-cable digital 5.1, either AC3, DTS or Digital DIN? I'd prefer a simple converter to Digital DIN, because that's what the Inspire 5700 was mainly designed for and it worked perfectly with my old Audigy.
Alternatively, one could possibly also use some fancy software to convert all the wave-out sound into AC3 or DTS and send it along the optical cable. But I don?t know any such software plus I expect this to drain a lot of processor power.
Any help is greatly appreciated it'ss kind of frustrating that two products of the same company can't be connected with each other, just because neither, the card nor the docking module provide Digital DIN.
Thank you very much and best regards
    - spitfire
P.S. in another post, pjc said: You will probably require a 4-pole mini-jack > DIN converter to connect your Creative speakers to this socket.
That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I couldn't find such a converter on the creative homepage.

I believe the DIN for soundcard are mainly built and solely used by Creative. I don't think there is any 3rd-party converter in the market to do DIN. There is a software here posted by some other users that can do AC3 encoding on the fly. Not too sure where's the post now but you can do a search for it.

  • 5.1 analog sound for games with dtt2500

    Hello,
For the sound on my PC, I have the material following, illustrated by the images below: an audio sound card Crative X-Fi extreme PCI express OEM connected with my decoder Crative Desktop Home Theatre 5.1 (which manages digital Dolby but not DTS) itself connected with my 5 HP and my subwoofer.
For the sound of a DVD, no concerns, thanks to an adapter, I can connect the optical grip of my sound card with the grip AC3 SPDIF of my decoder and obtain a digital sound dolby in 5.1.
On the other hand, for the resulting sound of video games, I do not know one single which take advantage of 5.1 digital but only 5.1 analog. I know thus how to connect my sound card via the black links (rear) and green (front) in my decoder to obtain an ANALOGICAL sound in 4.1. But impossible to obtain a sound in 5.1. I do not know how to connect my exit center/subwoofer via an orange-coloured cable in my decoder, which does not possess this entrance.
As a result, not possible to obtain from the analogical sound 5.1 for the games. I thus thought of this solution, the decoder DTS-610 from Creative http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?product=49
It decodes the signal resulting from three cables (orange, black and green) or 6 "ways" to convert it in DTS on the HP. I thus connect it between my sound card and my decoder via 3 analogical cables and a yellow optical coaxial cable. BUT, as my decoder does not manage the DTS, will it still work ? Could I thus obtain an ANALOGICAL sound 5.1 coming from games instead of the sound 4.1 Or is there another solution?
    Thank you for your help

    hi davebeme,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
That Logitech x530 is meant for a Desktop Audio that support Surround 5.1 channel that has 3 ports as you mentioned (Blue, green and orange)
You will need a USB Audio Adapter like this

Like the Diagram,  the Surround 5.1 sound effect is your Logitech device
    Hope this helps

  • Connect Airport Express digital to DAC to high end audio

I want to connect my airport express to my DAC. The problem I have is that my DAC only has a COAX optical line in. The Airport Express has a digital out but I understand it is only Toslink. What is the best way to connect them together?
    Any suggestions are very welcome!
    Regards, Harm

You could look at the Sound Blaster DTS-610 for $99. I used one to convert from the digital mini jack on a SB extreme audio card to a coaxial jack on my Yamaha receiver for 5.1 surround before I got a new motherboard with optical output.

  • Need to convert DTS packages to SQL Server 2012 environment.

    Hi Friends,
As Part of the Project Requirement,we need to convert DTS packages to SQL Server 2012 environment.
    Please sugest me best approach.
    Thanks

Best approach is to re-design the packages in SSIS 2012 directy if it is feasible. Because most of the DTS feaures are discontinued and also you will have to clean up all errors that you are going to get after migration.
Discontinued Integration Services Functionality in SQL Server 2012
Otherwise you need to migrate it first to 2008R2 and then 2012 version.

  • [SOLVED] unable to play mp3 or flac files in mpd, .dts files play fine

I had a perfect running mpd setup before I tried to fiddle around with some dependancies to get xbmc-svn to compile without errors. I installed some AUR packages (ffmpeg-svn, x264-git, libva-sds, libvpx, libid3tag).
After that I started to experience trouble with mpd, it start fine and says it plays audio files just fine but whenever i play a mp3 or flac file the progress bar just looks like it's playing the file but I hear no sound. Whenever I play a .dts file i hear the sound correct.
I'm very curious to why this happends.

  • TouchSmart 610 Touchscreen is not working (windows 7)

    Hey guys,
I have had my TouchSmart for about 2 years, and it's been near a year that my touch input hasn't been working, but since I wasn't really using it, I never followed up until last week. But I was pretty upset when I realized I had a 2 year warranty which was just expired on 02/02/14. I have tried all be basic things that has been suggested on this site or any other sites, such as running Windows update (and yes I installed the optional updates as well). I have also checked and updated all the drivers, and at this point is running out of options. I have a bit of IT experience so I think I know what I'm doing but I'm running out of ideas.      Any suggesstions?

I used some instructions like pushing f10 key for 5 seconds and reseting the bios and blo blo but it won't work. I also removed cd or usb but it still not working. plesae somebody help.

    Hi Fanoos,
Although this post is a couple years old, I figured I would give it a reply anyway just so other people with similar issues have a little more up to date info.
AugyTek is actually the name of my repair shop, and this is a "fun" problem that I see all the time.
Regarding specifically the Touchsmart 610 system, when you see the flash like that, there is an easy way to tell exactly where the problem is originating from.
First, check your power supply "brick".  It should be warm to the touch with it plugged in and machine running.  If it feels like it is going to burn your hand, your PS is probably the culprit.  I recommend taking it to your local technical shop, or using a voltmeter if you have one to see exactly what it is putting out.  It should be 19v give or take a couple tenths of a volt.  Anything more than a couple of tenths off and your power supply is probably the culprit, and may have done some additional damage to the PC itself.
If everything is good there, now it's time to assess internally.  Power off the machine, disconnect the power supply, hold the power button in for a couple of seconds until the green light on the back is no longer lit.  Follow the instructions on the HP website to removing both the left and right covers on the back of the PC.  (Take proper precautions for static electricity.)
Take out the Hard Drive and the RAM.  replace the covers, but no need to screw them in.  Plug your power supply back in and power the machine on.
You should get one short and one long beep and nothing should display on the screen.  This is testing for proof of life from the board.  If you get no beeps, your board is malfunctioning and sadly with these it often is easier and cost effective to just get a new machine than replace the board.
If you get beeps, the board is fine and you need to replace one stick of ram after powering off properly again and then start it up.  You should be able to see the "no boot media" message it displays because the system will halt.
If the lettering is fuzzy, diminished, in a low resolution, or looks anything other than normal, the likely cause is video related.  You now have to determine to what extent the video is malfunctioning.
(Yes, I know that you probably arrived at this conclusion already that the something was messed in the video/display area, but I can't tell you how many times I have asked people if they have tested for other things and they say no or how do you do that?  By ruling out other malfunctions, you arrive with the correct solution faster.)
You can power the machine down and remove the back covers and carefully reseat ALL micro style cables that you can see.   There should be 3 in the top left, 2 on the inverter (the thing with the cover), and then 4 in the top right that are kind of hard to manage.  These cables are all related to power, with some related to video and the touchscreen itself.
So now boot the system up normally, if you still have the one second screen, then attempt to plug in USB devices, insert a CD/DVD, and if you have one handy, use a USB to VGA adapter.  If any of these things do not initalize/work properly with the typical windows sound when you plug them in, the likely cause is your motherboard, related to power issues.
If your board is not able to route enough power through it past the graphical chip, into the inverter, and the LCD, power USB devices, etc., this is a tell tale sign that your machine has issues supplying enough power to all these things.  This is why you will see the one second screen everytime you turn the screen on or wake it out of standby, because there isn't enough or consistent power to keep the system running normally.
Because it is fairly cost prohibitive and time consuming to replace the board, you can pretty much write off the system.
Now if your USB devices and Optical drive work fine and everything initializes, you may be able to get away with replacing the inverter.  These parts do go bad, and the inverter, which sits on top of the optical drive in the system is naturally exposed to heat from the DVD drive and is a really bad design flaw.  Replacing this may solve your problem.
If it is replaced and you still have the same issue, likely your problem is with the LCD screen itself, and again... not really worth it to replace it.
If it is your board and power issues, if you are hell bent on repairing this, and you are familiar with how to reflow a board, or know a professional that can attempt it, you certainly can give it a whirl.  DO NOT attempt the unprofessional ways to reflow a board as you see on some videos.  Whereas these methods can work, you need to have an intricate knowledge of electronics and temperature effects on circutry to even warrant attempting them.
Some people say a hair dryer will work, but the problem is then you dont know exactly how much heat you are at temperature wise, and a hair dryer will auto cool and heat it's coils as it sees fit to maintain it's own stability, where as a genuine heat gun will not.  Again, if you don't have experienced knowlege in reflowing boards, I wouldn't recommend doing it.
By reflow, I am referring to reflowing the solder in the board.  Unless a visible malfunctioned blown or bulged capacitor is present, reflowing the solder to it's original paths is done by the way of keeping the board level, and gradually and evenly heating the board up to a temperature to where solder melts.  Solder will naturally go back into it's original form at a certain temperature and reseal any cracks or breaks in the solder, thereby repairing the flow of electricity for that certain component.  This is also assuming the component that has the solder is not damaged as well.
This process is best left to professionals with proper equipment, because you can in fact to irrepariable damage to the board if you are inexperienced.  Being careful will not save you in this instance.
The one thing you want to remember with All in ones, and especially touch screens, is that they generate an AMAZING amount of heat.    Any blockage from dust or covered vent ports can quickly lead to your machines demise.  Due to the design of any All in one, heat has been, and probably always will be an issue with these units.
