DTS for non-creative applications on Audigy 2

I've been trying to use DTS on Winamp 5 for some time now, but haven't been able to get it to work, even using software decoding. I have a DTS output plug-in, but it doesn't seem to be able to map the sound to the rear channels (it has no problems mapping any channel to the front speakers, so I know it's not the plugin that can't do DTS). I'm not a big fan of the creative mediasource player, as it is not very powerful and doesn't support a lot of file-types I often play. I've contacted creative about this but they just told me to mediasource. I don't think this is fair as I did pay for the Audigy 2, I don't see why I can't use its features any way I want. Anyway, any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

I finally debugged it and found how to make it work to play DTS encoded DVD's I think the problem is not with the Creative sound card or drivers, but with Windows XP
I discovered that usually when I played DVD's under Windows Media Player 0, I have completely no sound. I have to play an external Orion Direct DVD program to play with sound... well I went into the "Tools" option and then what did I find ? there is a Plug-in by Ahead Nero called Nero Audio decoder, ("DVD" option) which is sitting there and controls DVD audio playback... (using Nero 6.6). When I set the DVD output audio channels to SPDIF (instead of 2 channels as initially set), I suddenly had sound and Dolby Suround and DTS, etc... I even was sble to play a DTS only DVD.. it sounds great. All setting in the Creative Audio HQ were as advised here by one of the moderators, SPDIF pass thru is off (though I had to find it) and DTS Neo6 was enabled on "cinema mode". Though Mediasource is still mute on DVD tracks playback, but I am pleased that Windows Media Player works and sound now seems fine on all advertised functions.

    Hi ,
we have implemented Siteminder on SAP PORTAL 6 SP16 for authentication.I would like to integrate non sap application in Portal.I could not find any documentaion for setting up non sap application's in portal on which siteminder external authentication is implemented.
can anybody help for getting step by step document.

    Hi,
if you have access to service.sap.com via S-User, you can download "SAP Enterprise Portal Security Guide" in the portal section. It has dedicated descriptions about SSO-Settings, also about netegrity.
You can also search help.sap.com about "SSO" which gives you overview descriptions.
On SAP Service Net, there is also an pdf "Integrating Security functions" in the Netweaver 2004s Portal section, where the description of the Java API for the PDK is included. This is very helpfull for coding.

  • Very very urgent Discoverer reports for non oracle applications

    Hi,
My client is using discoverer 10g with R12.He is using different non oracle applications like BRM Application (database is oracle only) for that they wants to develop discoverer reports. It is possible to integrate with non oracle applications with discoverer.
Can you please suggest me.It is very very urgent.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi
You're really not supposed to manage a non-Apps mode EUL and an Apps mode data within the same URL. Having said that, I have a hunch you just might be able to do it and there are 2 ways. You can either make the data available to user who login using E-Business Suite credentials or you can make it available to users who have database credentials. The first one is straightforward and you do it just like any other data. Let me give you some hints regarding the second method.
First of all I ahve not personally tried this and you may find that because Discoverer was initially set up in Apps mode that somewhere down the line it will make the suers connect this way. However, the following is worth a try.
I would a new schema in the Oracle E-Business database to manage the link to BRM and create a database link from this user to a user in the BRM database. You will also need to create user accounts within the database for anyone who needs to login and run BRM reports.
Next, I would create views in this new schema pointing at data across the BRM link, thus allowing Discoverer to think these are local objects.
In Discoverer Administrator, you would need to log in to Discoverer using the owner of the EUL - NOT using SYSADMIN or any of the other E-Business Suite accounts. You should log in with the Oracle Applications checkbox unchecked. You can now create new business areas on the BRM data. You should also be able to assign users to Discoverer privileges and users to business areas.
Using the same URL you would have Apps users connect using the E-Business Suite item on the drop-down for logging in and you would have BPM users choose the Business Intelligence Discoverer item.
Let me know how you get on

  • More Lion issues - Throwing Console errors for non-existent application

Again, with the bad side of Lion.
I was receiving all kinds of console errors in Lion with TweetDeck and Adobe AIR apps so I de-installed these applications and removed them from the system. However, Apple's fantastic Lion Operating System still is complaining about them even though they are not to be found.
In the console I am getting sandbox errors on locations and files that are non-existent. Below is a snapshot of the error messages, and the directory referred to:  /Users/kkathman/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/TweetDeckFast....  and the others DON'T EVEN EXIST!!
How do I keep this from happening?  Why does the OS go after this when it's been removed?????

Don't know how you de-installed but you didn't fully uninstall them. If you did not have an uninstaller supplied with the applications, then here's what you need to consider in order to fully uninstall:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Can I use OBIEE WebLogic Servers for NON-OBIEE Applications ?

    Hi guys !
OBIEE 11g comes with Weblogic 10.3.X. Technically, there is nothing stopping me from installing my own custom JEE Applications in a WebLogic domain (bifoundation or a new one), correct ?
These applications have nothing to do with OBIEE. Rather I'm using the provided WL env as a standard JEE Application Server env.
Have you guys had any experience with it ? Am I going to break OBIEE because of this ?
    Thanks.

As long as you are good with Weblogic configuration no issues, if at all if you log a SR with Oracle for your custom configuration they may question you.
This just my opinion, I may be wrong.

  • BI system with additional client for non-BI application

We have a test SRM system with the BI_CONT add-in loaded.  Our intent was to use one client for BI and another client for SRM unit testing.  It is feasible to run BW in the same physical instance as SRM, given that they are both built on NW 70, and we loaded the BI_CONT.
In the BW client (100) I try to create a source system for the SRM app (client 400).  After I enter the RFC destination (SRMCLNT400) and necesasry credentials, the system tries to sign me back into client 100.  Then it gives error "SRDCLNT100 already exists".  That source does exist because it is the BI souce, and I never specified SRDCLNT100.  I used the RFC destination created for SRDCLNT400.  Why might this be happening because to the BI client (100), it shouldn't be able to distinguish between a source system that's on the same physical instance (different client) versus a differnet instance/host.

    Hi
Somehow yes, but as I said:
I faced the problem with "The logical system name has changed" (exit only). I tried to solve it by running BDLS but it did not solve the problem.
This is why I asked about the proper approach. Your proposal is a little bit different to my last try, because you suggest to copy 800 to the new client. I have used 000 as a source for copy.
My main concern is what with some functionalities in client 800 if I move BI to the new client (this means RSA1 will not work in 800).
See here (though this is for solution manager): Re: BW / SolMan Logical System Change
This is why I considered using the same client for ERP and BI (only 800), but here I am not sure if there are some disadvantages (but compared to having Bi on different client, so database size is not an issue).
Do you know what will be wrong to use only client 800 and only add BI CONT to the system ? Do you know any SAP notes which says that this is wrong?
    regards

  • SSO to non SAP Application using SAP Logon Ticket

    Hi Experts,
I Have EP 7 SP 15 using SPNego Wizard to SSO with Active Directory and SSO between EP and ECC using SAP Certificates.
Now I have a demand to SSO some JAVA based applications (non SAP) to my portal using the SAP Logon Ticket.
I Have followed some blogs that directed me to use SAPSSOEXT (some libs) to read the MYSAPSSO2 cookie. The problem is that I didn't found this cookie, I even executed the command javascript:document to look for this cookie but the browser just show me the JSESSIONID info.
Does anybody knows where I can find this cookie or if there's a better way to set up this SSO? It´s necessary to say that I cannot SSO these application to the kerberos protocol because some security reasons on my company.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I dont have much info related but i can giv u hint
refer OSS Notes 442401 and 723896.
When using SAP logon tickets for non-SAP applications, two different implementation options are available. The difference lies in where the ticket verification takes place.
In the first case,  the SAP logon ticket is submitted to the web server filter located on the web server. The web server filter verifies the portal serveru2019s public key
certificate using its local Personal Security Environment (PSE) and then populates the HTTP header field with the user ID for SSO to the non-sap web application.
In the second case,  the SAP logon ticket is sent to the non-SAP application, which then verifies it using the ticket verification DLL and submits the user ID to the application for SSO.

  • PCUI for non-CRM development

ECC seems to have the same PCUI data structures as CRM, but ECC does not have the IMG hooks into PCUI that CRM does.  Has anyone used PCUI outside of CRM?  Is it a valid development scenario?
    Thanks much!

    Hi Daniel,
You can do development in PCUI for non-CRM applications but there are a few points you must consider before going forward.
    1. You need to have CRM in the system. So, you got to have the PCUI components (even if you don't use any other CRM functionality) in the system. This is because PCUI is still a part of CRM only.
    2. You need to be aware that its not preconfigured and predelivered as in the case of CRM. So, you have to set up all the blueprint tables by yourself and write up all the Model Access classes.
    3. You need to be aware that PC UI structure is quite rigid. You can not play around much with the look and feel. There are certain things you <b>can not</b> do in PC UI.
So, if you decide to go for PCUI anyways, you are always welcome to post you PCUI related queries in this forum. Also check out the weblog by Vijay on the PCUI cook book.
    /people/vijaya.kumar/blog/2005/06/10/people-centric-user-interface-pcui--getting-started
This should come handy to do a pre implementation feasibility analysis and if you decide to go ahead then in every step of your development.

  • "SSO" for non-sap web application using SAPGUI to browse?

I have a web application (non SAP) and the user base are also SAP users in an ABAP system.
To strengthen the authentication in the web app, I wanted to implement SSO
authentication as we pity the users for having to remember so many strong pw's and I
dont like LDAP based pw sync or other technology I dont understand, because then we are
just yet another application with the same pw...
We are having technical problems implementing SSO on the web app side, and are anyway a
bit sceptical about the user admin / role admin assignment if we get it to work.
So I have created a transaction in SAP which browses the web app and the intention is to
send the SAP sy-uname as the web app user. We can control this using s_tcode, and
an own auth object on the WAS side and a check on the session type before the connection is
established. In this sense we are dependent on the SAP concept implemented, but even so:
The role assignment is controlled in the web app itself -> so assume that I am not overly
worried about unauthorized access to the web application, as they would not have any
system role for it as their sy-uname does not exist. (Infact we can monitor this)
The browser on the front end is the SAPGUI with html controls on the SAP side.
I would be interested in knowing whether anyone else has experience with this approach, and
whether there are any areas to be carefull of?
I would also like to know whether this is a strategic error?
    Kind regards,
    Julius

    Hi Julius,
well, if that web application would run on the same ABAP backend system then the solution described in <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0612670">SAP Note 612670</a> would be applicable:
a so-called "Re-entrance ticket" (based on the "SAP logon ticket" SSO proceedings) is issued, transported via the SAPGUI connection and back to the system via the invoked HTML control.
But for non-SAP web applications that does not help.
In that case only X.509 client certificates can be used for SSO. Actually, the web application could then also be invoked directly (independent from the SAPGUI session). The user is authenticated based on the X.509 client certificate - and not based on the ABAP userID (of the SAPGUI session).
Well, if you don't mind the effort you could also use the "SAP Logon Ticket evaluation library" (sapssoext, see <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0304450">SAP Note 304450</a>) to evalute the SAP logon ticket externally. You'll then need to have a "stub application" at the ABAP side that triggers the http redirect to your external web application. Not a nice solution but a possible one.
In the future SAML browser artifacts would be an option (preferable to integrate non-SAP applications). But currently that's not available (for NWAS ABAP).
    Cheers, Wolfgang

  • SSO for SAP and Non-SAP applications without Enterprise Portal

    Dear all,
Is it possible to implement SSO for both SAP and non-SAP applications without involvement of EP at all?
I have gone through this link.
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e5/4344b6d24a05408ca4faa94554e851/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e5/4344b6d24a05408ca4faa94554e851/frameset.htm</a>
But I still i am not able to get the precise answer on how to enable SSO for both  SAP and non-SAP applications without EP.
We have decided not to implement EP in first phase of SAP implementation. But we need to enable SSO for other SAP and Non-SAP applications.
A detailed description on how to deal this kind of scenarios will be helpful.
    Thanks.

A client of our's uses <b>SAP Enterprise Portal</b>, and is using the SAP SSO, which is implemented with tickets, and requires the use of SAPSECULIB.  My company provides an application for this client, and our application in hosted in our data center for the client, as a Software as a Service application, obviously across the internet.  Our client, which owns a SAP license, has asked that we support the SAP SSO as a non-SAP SSO application.  The client user's SSO ticket will be created from SAP EP, and then passed across the internet to our application, and we are to use that SSO ticket as an authentication ticket to our application.  I beleive I know how to do this work technically, having reviewed the SAP document named: "Dynamic Library for Verifying SSO Tickets in Third-Party Software"   Specification   Version 2.00  December 2005.
My question is, does my company have the right to use the SAPSECULIB?  Where is the official download and <b>license</b> download, that indicates we can download this library, and use it to support a SAP customer?  We do not own a SAP license.  Thank you for your help.  I have searched many places in SAP support.<b></b>

There are a lot of pins on the card and well only about 8 in the conector for the front plugs. So if any dev from the forum is reading this I would greatly apreciate it if I could use my front Intel sound plugs on this old model card.
Thank you for all your help.

That will help you with the pin assignments.......
And you can also try one of these to connect a lot more easily to your front panel audio jacks.......

I used the above with four Audigy LS and SE's and it works a treat!

It is the same installer. You can run it as 30-days trial (CC version) and decide later for CC or stand-alone. To license as stand-alone, follow this guide.
If you already have the LR6 license key, you can enter it during setup and do not need to follow the guide.
