DTS or Dolby Digital codec plugin?

Has anyone seen or heard of a Dobly Digital (AC3) or DTS codec AU plugin? I would find that MOST useful. I haven't been able to find anything of the sort.
JB

Never heard of one. Encoding is only done by Dolby (either using A.Pack or now Compressor, or Dolby's high-end software in non-realtime, or DTS software. You can find them at respecitve web sites. Since Dolby 5.1 comes with Compressor, it's definitely the cheapest solution. DTS software is fairly pricey.
I asked sales at Dolby and they said ther is no "real-time" encoding/decoding solution for monitoring as the encode/decode process adds significant delay to the signal path, which doesn't make for easy mixing/monitoring. They also said there are no plans to allow compressor to output Dolby Digital EX (6.1; surround back) at all.
So looks like we are stuck with downmixing to surround files, then processing through Compressor, then monitoring in DVD Player using a HomeTheater receiver (be sure to switch the digital outs to S/PDIF out in Audio/Midi setup dialog).

  • Vista ultimate x64 any chance to get decoding of dts and dolby digital for audigy 2 zs platinum

    hello,
i need the support of deconding dts or dolby digital for my audigy 2 zs platinum pro.
is there any chance to get this feature back in vista ultimate x64?
i hope anybody can help me.
    thanks for all
    steffen

According to Creative, Vista no longer supports the decoding of Dolby and DTS at the driver level, so no, that feature proabably won't added back in the future. It is gone for all the Creative cards.

  • Get DTS and Dolby Digital work

Download ffdshow tryout filters from [url="http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout">here[/url] these filters are simply great for Vista they were actually written for it unlike previous versions of ffdshow.
Thanks to those babies I have full XviD x264 and so on playback even in Media Center. Vista still crashes due to the driver issue though still waiting for proper drivers from Creative for my overpriced Audigy 2zs platinum pro.
Funnily enough the drivers dated March 6th check out to be dated as the 2th of February if you view them through Device Manager, so that's over 2 months of problems and not a single driver update. Waiting and hoping.Message Edited by euphoria_aus on 04-9-200703:52 AM

    Hello,
I purchased a mini to TOSLINK optical cable to connect my GT70 0NC to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system and I was wondering if the ALC892 supports Dolby Digital Live. I'm able to get DTS and Dolby Digital to work just fine, but I don't see an option to change the default format of the digital output in the Realtek HD Audio Manager to Dolby Digital Live. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with the latest audio drivers available.
    Thanks
    I hate saying this.
Do yourself a favor, go buy an Asus Xonar U3, plug it in, and you will be much happier.
I have a Z680 (precursor to the Z5500, pretty much the same thing though), and I couldn't stand how bad the Realtek HD performed. The Asus Xonar does a much better job. You hook it up, set it to output to the 'speakers', but have your TOSLINK cable connected, and you get upconverted dolby digital live sound output. Couldn't ask for anything better. The U3 only runs about $40, so it's not a huge investment.

Try copy those corrupted files and make sure you are using the same certificate and then re-encrypt the copied files and try decrypt them.
If possible, use the same account as you used for encryption.

No digital codec. Part of the driver installation package for your aduio driver. For example if you have an on-board Realtek HD Audio Codec you can get the latest drivers from...
    Realtek Audio - All

Your PC audio driver contains some or all digital formats to connect to digital audio appliances. Some formats might not be supported and if so, then you are at the mercy of the digital hardware vendor and need to find hardware for both the PC audio and external hardware .. that speak the same digital language (Dolby DTS, Dolby Surround, etc...).

  • DTS and Dolby digital support in Vista for Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor

Hello, I own a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor with USB connection and would like to know when will be available a drivers for Windows Vista and Windows 7 where we have full support for using the Dolby Digital and DTS decoder, I mention because it seems that?this card is forgotten about the update of drivers and is a pity that it is?lack of the support.

Ok, so I go to Creative Device Control, and on the PCI/USB tab I've changed the sampling rate to 48khz.
    It was previously at 44.kHz
The bit depth is still at 6bit
Now the problem seems to be solved.
The problem was only with the output from the device. And now there are no skips!!
    Excellent!
Why has that solved it though?
I've read on other forums (head-fi) that the audigy cards do not run at 44.kHz nati'vely so the sound has to be downsampled.
Is that skipping an artefact of that downsampling process?
Will having that set at 48kHz, but recording to a 44.kHz 6bit wav file theoretically reduce the quality of the recording - compared to having it set at 44.kHz and recording a wav at 44.kHz?
On the SPDIF tab the input sample rate is shown as 44.kHz - as that's what is output by the DAC in my minidisc deck.
But when I changed the sampling rate on the PCI/USB tab, the SPDIF output sampling rate also changed to 48kHz.
This means if I wanted to record from the optical output, whilst also recording to the computer, and that device only supported 44.kHz - I can't do that?
You listed some main reasons to the truth, why Creative SB cards are not very popular on serious use (DAW). I.e. need for resampling. X-Fi's in creation mode are (least said to be) the only ones not resample everything.
There is a setting for "Bit-Accurate-Recording" (digital modes only) --> have you tried if that works on your recordings?

  • Dts interactive / dolby digital live toggle switch tray icon

hey guys, i had a better post typed out but the preview button failed and deleted it all, haven't had that happen in a long time, i normally copy it to clipboard
here's a crude little program i whipped up, which effecti'vely toggles dts interacti've, or dolby digital li've on or off, with a simple left click of the mouse, right clicking the icon opens the creative audio console, this actually just runs a simple batch file that stops or starts the Creative Audio Service, its handy for my setup
creative audigy , set as default device in windows
realtek onboard digital out set to dts:interacti've output device set in creative console encode tab
media player classic forced to use realtek digital output
the problem is i wish to stream raw dd/dts audio tracks from videos in media player classic, so i need to turn off encoding, with this program i just click the icon then start the video and have the raw dts/dd bitstream sent to my receiver
here's the program, 64bit only changes the location uses to looks for the Creative Audio Console ( \Program Files (x86)\ )
the config.txt also has the location of audio console, and icon names
    32bit - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=26GWIJX7 CRC - ?EA4674
    64bit - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=22XSMLYS CRC - 0003940

dts is considered the superior format.
It's less compressed. I think they both can awesome personally.

  • DTS Connect / Dolby Digital Live (?)

$ Hi! I have an SB X-FI Platinum and was wondering if there's any way to enable DTS Connect (or Dolby Digital Li've?) on my card? I have another sound card today and use the DTS Connect to get 5. sound in games and movies that don't have DTS / Dolby Digital sound.. Im using a single Coax SPDIF cable with the newest Beta driver (released 2009-0-29) for Windows 7.

  • How do I get Dolby digital live or DTS connect to work?

I have the sound blaster Zx sound card and the logitech z906 5.1 surround speaker system. I am connecting to the speakers via optical cable. I figured Dolby digital live and/or DTS would sound great with this set up, only problem when I turn on either of those my speakers go silent. I set Speakers: Soundblaster Z as my default playback device but other than that I am not sure what I need to do to get it to work.
    Bruce

I have the z 906 speakers, not the Z-5500 in your link. The manual I already have says the z906 speakers automatically detect the digital signal. I figured the Sound Blaster card would convert an analog signal to digital since it is going into the speakers through the Optical cable, I guess I was wrong.
I have read the link about digital connections on these forums along with the notice in the cinematic tab in the Sound Blaster control panel. I believe they are both saying that I will not be able to use my music player (windows media player) in conjunction with the Dolby DTS and Dolby Digital Live, is this true?
If so then is the only way to listen to the DTS or digital Live effects is through a DVD or Blu ray disc encoded for either of those effects?
If this is true how do I test my dolby digital outputs to make sure they are working correctly?

  • MSI GTX 580 Lightning XE - no DTS-HD and no Dolby Digital TrueHD?

    Hello,
I have just upgraded from the gtx 460 to 580 Lightning XE and the above audio formats are gone. I thought the 280.26 drivers caused it so I went back to 275.33 and DTS-HD and DD TrueHD are still missing.
Since the gtx 460 supports these formats I presumed that the 580 does as well.
In Playback Devices > Supported Formats, only 3 formats are listed: DTS Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and Dilby Digital
In Nvidia Control Panel, the HDCP is not supported when I select my TV/amp. When I had my tv/amp connected via hdmi cable to gtx 460, all was functioning correctly, all formats were listed.
PowerDVD and Total MediaTheater worked perfectly fine playing dts-hd an dd truehd from bluray discs, now these formats are just not available anywhere. Only normal DTS and DD is played.
I really hope that this is a software issue
DTS-HD and DD TrueHD are supported from HDMI 1.3 version. The GTX 580 chip supposedly supports HDMI 1.4a. NVIDIA and MSI please fix it!
Here's the fix request form, please can as anyone request a fix through this form? http://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com/app/ask
The chip 580 should support DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.

have you tried msi's drivers too? http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N580GTX-Lightning-Xtreme-Edition.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7%2032
No I haven't. I didn't even think of that. I always go for the official nvidia drivers. I'm downloading it now.
edit: Installed them drivers, and no change. DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD are still missing.
    I found some "info" here:

NVIDIA slightly revised their display controller for GF110/GTX580; the good news is that HDMI 1.4a is supported, the bad news is that full audio bitstreaming is not supported so it’s the same as it was on the GTX 480: 8 channel LPCM and lossy audio formats like DD+ and DTS. This actually caught us off-guard since we were expecting the full GF104 treatment here, but it just goes to show that this is a GF100-derrivative after all. Unfortunately this also extends to the number of displays supported – NVIDIA still only supports 2 displays on one card, so you need to run in SLI if you intend to take advantage of 3DVision/NVIDIA surround across 3 monitors.
If that's true, it doesn't look good..

  • Dolby digital or d

    what is better thanks

When watching movies i prefer DTS over dolby digital if the movie has a DTS track.
If possible i prefer full bitrate (536k) DTS track movies like fifth element (UK), sadily there is a lack of full bitrate DTS tracks on movies only (754k) half bitrate tracks. It depends on personal preferance.

  • Does MSI 990FXA-GD80 support Dolby Digital Live?

I need to output DD5.1 to a Turtle Beach Earforce DSS decoder. It know that some realtek-equipped motherboards can encode to DD Live do this but I don't have the option for DD Live in the Realtek Sound Manager under Supported Formats, nor in Windows sound properties under Advanced, although under Supported Formats it does show Dolby Digital (not Live) ticked.
So is it possible to do this or will I need to buy another soundcard?

  • NO Dolby Digital or DTS- Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

So after doing a clean install from Win XP to 7 PRO I now no longer can get dolby digital or dts through my speakers via toslink (optical, whatever u want to call it) . I have the latest win 7 drivers, tried reinstalling drivers using compatability mode (vista sp2), and configured it to play on on only digital outputs, spidf decode, set spdif output as my default device, set speakers to 5., and all combinations of that.
I am also using the k lite codec pack and playing videos using media player classic.
However, If i test dolby digital through? windows sound options it will detect and play the sample sound in dolby digital but my movies, etc will not when play through MPC.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • Z87-G45 Dolby Digital Live or DTS connect support?

As I understand it the motherboard uses the Realtek ALC1150 audio codec. There is a mention of an "Optional Dolby PCEE program" on the ALC1150 realtek info page.
Is this something that MSI must implement on top of the driver or is there a free driver/software somewhere that provides this support?
I want to be gaming with Dolby Digital/DTS on my receiver with this motherboard. Is it possible?

    With an aftermarket add-in PCI-E sound card, yes. Most of the time, higher end boards will have certain features that won't be made available for the lower end mainboards. You could always ask MSI Technical about it;
