DTW COA account type issue

hi all, i had tried upload user-defined COA using DTW,
as per the template 3 options for Account type  are possible
at_Revenues
at_Expenses
at_Other
when you go int SAPB1, COA, the options available are sales, expenditure and other.
while i just tried cut and paste these, it is not accepting 'at_Revenues'
or 'at_Expenses' it accepts only 'at_Other'
Kindly explain ASAP please

Dear Krishna,
SAP has already released quite a few helpful notes to help in importing the Chart Of Account through DTW .
Please try the following notes :
1. 675960 : FAQ_Importing Chart of Accounts via the DT
2. 669935
In note 675960 : Do note the last point : "8.  When entering a title account with an account type other than
    "Other"
the Data transfer Workbench does not import them and returns an error.
The account type is not necessary for the title account. In SAP Business
One the title has no account type defined. See notes : 669935"
If the issue is still not solved, may be if you could let give some example data which you are trying to import.

Arshdeep

have you checked which account type is maintained in respective G/L account which supposed to be hit once invoice is released . eg: check in Reconcilation account assigned in Customer Master in FS00, Reconcillation account for accoun type should be - D= Customers.
similarly for other accounts such as "Revenue account"  & check Field status group assigned in G/L account in FS00.
    Check & revert

    Hi
Hope you are doing this in test server
If this is a real time issue this needs to be addressed by a FI consultant
First see for your company code what is the posting period varient maintained in OBY6
    Say if it is 1000
    Then in OB52
    Maintain a setting like this
    1000-S-BLANK-ZZZZZZZZZZ-1--2010122010-13--201016--2010
    Then save it
This is for Account type S that is GL accounts
    Preferably maintain the same for      A,   + ,   D,   K,   M,   V

  • EBS - Posting Area 2 no longer determines Account type & GL account

    Hello all,
I'm looking for some help/advise on Electronic bank statement processing.  I suspect this has been caused by upgrade to EHP6, but I have not found any notes to help me.
    Relating to inter-company payments.
We have an issue where posting area 2 is no longer determining the Account symbol & account type based on a search string, which results in error message F5 263 - difference too large for clearing.
This then means the team have to manually post process these items, where as before this was automatic, obviously they are not happy.
The search string is still working as I can see the correct internal transaction has been determined when reviewing the item in FEBA that should have posted automatically.
Prior to the payment coming through on the bank statement the finance team post a DZ customer clearing document with credit entry posted to a sub GL bank account, this document quotes the payment document number in the XBLNR reference field.
Through debug I have found that POST_INTERFACE_CLEARING is not receiving the GL account or the Account type when it gets to the FB05 screen to search for the related item to clear in the sub GL.
Anybody else encountered this & found a way to fix it?
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hi Raghav,
Thanks for the advice, I had found this note during my search but I'm not convinced it is the answer.
Our search string rule is set to use All interpretation algorithms & I've run the bank statement with the ranges for BELNR & XBLNR specified.  I don't want to have a GL tolerance & posting to an alternative account as that changes the business process & would require a new GL account for this purpose.
I just want it to behave like it did before EHP6.

  • Advantages of using "Exchange" account type

I'm trying to determine the best way of using Mail in a predominantly Outlook/Exchange environment. I see that Mail has an "Exchange" account, and describes it as follows:
An Exchange account allows you to connect to your Exchange server via IMAP, and if you enter text in the Outlook Web Access Server field, Mail filters non-email related content from the server.
Is this really all it does? Hide the folders like "Journal", "Notes", etc? Why doesn't it hide "Calendar"? Is there some flag one can set on a folder to mark it as an Exchange folder?
Are there any other advantages of using the "Exchange" account type as opposed to an IMAP account?

Turns out the Exchange account type ignores folders like Contacts, Journal and so on (but not Calendar or Sync Issues. Grr.

  • Add more "Account Types" in chart of account

    Hi,
would it possible to add more account types to the "Account Type" drop down, and anyone who has an idea on how to do it?
It would of course be possible to catch the FORM_LOAD event for the form and add additional ValidValues, and in a similar way catch the FORM_CLOSE event and manually save the value to the DB, but this would probably cause problems in other modules using the value..?!
    TIA
    Martin Korsbro

I don't think it will be possible without breaking the data integrity of SBO.
The product has processing built in based on the 3 standard values (BoAccountTypes Enumeration), if you were to provide an alternate value it would probably cause exceptions in standard SBO screens and lead to some difficult issues for support.
It would be better to add a User Defined Field to the Chart of Accounts and specify the list of values you want there.
    John.

  • Cross Company MIRO Transaction - BSEG-TXGRP Not Valued for Account Type "S"

I am working with the ABAP group to create tax reports for audits and sales tax charged by vendor.  I am basically wanting a line item report of all purchases along with any tax applied to each line.  Therefore, I am, for the most part, using tables BKPF, BSEG, and BSET.  For our US transactions, we have one company paying the invoice on behalf of all other US companies.  Essentially, every transaction is a cross-company transaction.  The problem is I am having a hard time tying BSEG to BSET by line item.  For FB60 transactions, I can tie BSEG-TXGRP to BSET-TXGRP; however, for MIRO transactions, BSEG-TXGRP is not valued for Account Type "S" (GL Accounts).  Any ideas?  I could not find a note to capture this issue.  There was a note, but it was with regard to Account Types "D" and "K" I believe, vendor and customer accounts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Deanna

    So,
Did you ever resolve this.  I have the EXACT problem right now.   Inter-co. MIRO documents only getting TAXGRP popuplated for Original Co. Document (not cross-co. document).
    Thanks,

  • Account types allowed for document type

    Hello,
when i am in the edit mode of document types through IMG, i can see the account types listed and can select the account types which can be posted with this document type.
but the issue is there are only 5 account types predefined, what if i have added a new account type?
    Thanks

No clasification is required for GL accounts to account types.
If a document type is assigned to account types then you can post documents using a document type only to the respective account types.
    Say for example,
You have a document type XY for which you have selected the account types D and K, then the document type XY can be used only to post to vendor and customer subledger and you can not use the doc type for rest of the three account types.,

    Hello,
This seems to be a configuration issue or you might be entering the wrong details.
This is a standard transaction. IF you feel there is nothing wrong, then search for OSS notes on http://service.sap.com to see if there is a solution to this problem.

  • Error - Account type D is not defined for document type WL

I am getting error while doing PGI (Post Goods Issue).
Error - Account type D is not defined for document type WL

As we had the same problem for a document in our system, I was also browsing for the answer. I saw this thread and now we have found the solution, so could not resist sharing, although it is an old posting.
In these cases it can be that a user wants to create a purchase order of the type UB. But if you have stock transport between two companies, you should not use this order type. You have to use order type NB.
If the user creates the PO with NB then probably they will not get the message.

You use budgetary accounts to record the movement of funds through the budget process from appropriation to expended appropriation. Its like a budget record for an oraganization and it has Either of the two account types Budgetary DR and Budgetary CR.
So it is just like normal account entries but meant for budget.

  • Significance of Account Type EXP,LEQ,INC,AST in BPC- Need some valid reason

    Hi,
I have a question why we need account type in BPC. Is there really any Business significance for maintaining Account Type ?
Account type LEQ, INC it behaves differently while load data/display data as sign change happens in SAP Back end. Major issue comes when you try to create a re-concillation report using BEX tool for LEQ, INC accounts in BPC and BI cube as you need to reverse the sign in BEX side for any calculation or any data match for INC and LEQ accounts.
My implication is : Is there anything wrong if we take all accounts as EXP account type because what data comes from other source/Input schedule remain as such for all accounts. There will be no Discrepancy/confusion of sign while in reporting in BI side or BPC side. You can follow normal calculation process if you have calculated any item in the report and does not bother about the account type and behaves same as the BI cube data.
Any idea or any issue if the above implication is implemented. I need some concrete reasons for the above issue as it create a extra headache/confusion in BPC impementation project.
    Thanks
    Debasisha

    Hi Debasish,
Lets take a simple example. Lets say you have revenue as INC, sales as EXP and Profit as INC. You enter values from input schedule as below
Acct    Type    Value entered in IS      Value in DB
    Revenue   INC   400                   -400
    Sales   EXP     100                  100
Lets say Profit is the parent, then the values will be
    Profit   INC   -300
In the report, you will see the data as 300 (since profit is of type INC).
However, if you keep all as EXP, then
Acct    Type    Value entered in IS      Value in DB
    Revenue   EXP   400                   400
    Sales   EXP     100                  100
    Profit    EXP                             500
The above data, as you can see, is incorrect. Now, for making it correct, you need to put a formula for Profit as Revenue - Sales. This looks easy, however, will become cumbersome with more number of members.
Hope you got the idea now.

    hi,
Step.1 : Create Chart of Accounts - in your case you had created
Step 2: Goto T.Code OB53, it will ask for the Chart of Accounts enter the chart of accounts you had created.
Step 3: Once you entered the transaction, there will be two columns  PL Statmt acct type and Account  enter x in the first column and leave the account column blank.
Step 4: Try to create the GL account you can able to create.
If you are trying to do the configuration first time, you will face this problem, it is a basic issues when we start learning FICO.
