DTW for UDO's

Hi All,
Can I import data for UDO using DTW. i had created template and try to import data but its showing error unknown error - 1005
what may be the reason ?

Hi everyone in this forum, I'm so glad that there is a community like this one so we can request to expert and not so expert SAP users.
This thread is made with the intention of request help in the following matter: The company I started recently to work with, wants to upload all Purchase Orders via Excel (with information sent by our suppliers) as well as apply customer payments with information of our bank accounts.
And I have read a lot about the DTW (Data Transfer Workbench) and I know that it works for importing information; I know for PO's is possible but not sure about application of payments received.
Does someone out there knows if it's possible to use this functionality DTW for this.
And also guide me in how to fill up the templates, for example how will the records will be match, through the DocEntry field?
What happens if i enter the header manually in SAP, assigning a Document number and providing it to our supplier so we can import only the lines. In the Lines template where can I enter this number so the lines are created automatically without importing the header.

Hi Israel,
This is possible, but you would need to run the uploads in several steps.
Once you have uploaded the Purchase Orders, you would need to convert these to AP Invoices for making payments against (Purchase Orders are non financial documents).
You will need the docentry field from the PO to be created in order to link the invoices to the PO. Then, once you have the doc entry of the AP Invoices you can create vendor payments & link them to the invoices, and a method of payment.
It may be easier to use the SAP function "Payment Wizard" to generate payments based on invoices rather than DTW

Print Layout Designer for UDO

Hi,
Can we design report with print layout designer for UDO forms?
If yes, how do we accomplish this?
If not, is there any other alternative?

I use the iTextSharp project to create PDF's (http://itextsharp.sourceforge.net/)... its free and it works (A little hard to use, but it works). A more simple PDF-project are SharpPDF (http://sharppdf.sourceforge.net/). This is also free and very easy to use, but not that many features.

Error in layout for UDO

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the launch of the report from a user Form.
I created a layout for my UDO, I created a Form for UDO and I connected the layout to the mask.
The report parameter is a standard SAP token (DocKey@).
When I launch the preview is returned the error "Format of the input string is incorrect." if I insert the parameter in Crystal Report mask that appears after, the printing is working properly.
In the attachment post is said that taking away the value of the ObjectType defined for the form,the report should work; unfortunately this is not a solution because doing it SAP can not handle events, and the mask is no longer possible to navigate between documents.

check the JSP file name "Sample.jsp", "s" caps or small.
In portlapp.xml file give same name for <component name="<b>Sample</b>"> and
<property name="com.sap.portal.reserved.layout.TemplateFile" value="<b>sample</b>.jsp"/>. Component name & jsp file name should be same...

I have a look at the SDk help files and almost cried but am i right in thinking it is Account Code, Debit and Credit fields that are the mandatory fields for opening balances?
These sdk help files are awful by the way...really awful.

Hi Praveen,
I suggest to use sales order or invoice template. you could also export the template from DTW --> maintain interface (press Ctrl+M) --> drill down and search oDownPayment. You will find the documents and its contents consists of documents, document_lines, serialnumbers, batchnumbers, wht data. Click one by one of the contents and then click tools --> click create templates for the structure and then you could have the template for upload the downpayment.
Maintain interface seems a way out to have template for uploading a certain document if it is not available in this folder :
C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates

Stored Procedure for UDO

May my question be silly to u...But kindly share ur ideas in the following concept to throw light in my perspective...
We dont go with SDK (Not at all using it). We being in mid of a R&D.
We hav created a UDO. the table contains some fields in default as an ordinary table like std table holds.
We write SP Transaction Notification with them using the object type. Can it be able to write SP Transaction Notification for UDO which does'nt hold any Object Type?

You can not save a draft of a UDO document using the standard SBO "Save as Draft"mechanism.
I'f you want to achieve this - you'll have to create "Draft Tables" for your UDO, save it to the "Draft Tables" and reload it using your own search mechanism. It will be a lot of work, but it's the only way you will be able to create draft UDO documents...

Hi Kumar
For details on the format for the DTW go to your SDK installation folder for SAP Business One. You will find a Help folder and select the file REFDI.CHM
This file will give you help on the DI API which are the rules applied to the DTW as well. Under contents click on the plus next to objects. This will list all the objects (templates in DTW) available. Select an object and look at the members. There is a detailed explanation next to each member that will tell you whether or not it is mandatory and what the SAP field name is in brackets. If you click on a member name it will display more details on that member and under Syntax if you select the member name that is underlined, it will give you a list of options if applicable for that field. For example when clicking on CardType you will see the options are cCustomer, cSupplier and cLid.

Form Generator for UDO

Hello,
I want to know about form generators for UDO.
The default forms generated when we create our UDO contains only a grid, this forms are very simple and not very useful for big applications.
My question is there is any form generator that allow us to generate complex forms with textfields, lablels and tabs from an UDO and his childs.
i hear about a file "XmlFormGenerator.cs", i don't know if it's that i'm searching for, but i cant find it in sdn.

I found the tool i'm searching for, it's in the Development Environment Tools v1.4 for Business One 2007, and it's work perfectly, you have just to specify the UDO and it's creates an XML Form for the UDO and his childs, in the Form all operations are supportes : Add, Update and delete.

DTW for Chart of Account changes

Experts,
I need to use the DTW for importing changes and new accounts to the standard Chart of Accounts.
When I run the DTW, nothing is imported, even though this is successfull.
Here is teh fields that I have populated:
Header: Code, Name, Cashaccount, ActiveAccount, FaterAccountKey, Account type, AcctCurrency, ForeightName, FormatCode.
Values: 1, COANew1, tNO, tYES, Cash and Equiv, at_Other, $, 12345, 111111110100101.
What do I need to populate in the Code field? Is this different when I update or import a new account?

Thanks, this worked for the new accounts.
The update of old accounts still give an error "Cannot find this object..." I believe this has to do with the 'Code' field, as there is a note in the cell:
"This field serves as the key of the record in SAP BusinessOne system and it is mandatory. This field is used as a reference in the child template. When adding new data, the value of this field is user defined (e.g., 1,2,3, etc.). When updating existing data, the value of this field should be the real record key in SAP BusinessOne."
What is the real record key in SBO?

Adding CFL for UDO generated form

Hi I have created a form through Udo Form generator. i.e. UDO1(with Master Table=Users and master data rows table=OPDS)
On other form made through screen painter, I want to add cfl for udo generated form(UDO1).
Can anyone help me?

You can set the CFL alias like this :
oEditText.ChooseFromListAlias= "COLUMN_ID"
I think this is how it's suppose to be - you set the CFL alias as the column id of the master data table ( whose values you want to be placed in the EditText) . The only problem is that it doesn't work - it won't place the value automatically in the EditText.
To make it work , you have to catch the CFL Event and put the value in the EditText manually. ( this is also covered in the CFL example in the sample files).

Latest Version OF DTW for SAP B1

Hi,
May I know What is the latest version of DTW for SAPB1? Where to download it?
I am using SAPB1 version 2005A SP01 PL 36. Is the DTW also need to same version with it?

In reference to your question ... I believe that the latest PL for SAP Business One 2005A SP01 is PL44. There would also be a DTW version of this PL. If you are an SAP Business Partner, you can download software and patches from the SAP PartnerEdge Portal. If you are a customer, you would need to contact your SAP Partner to obtain updates to Business One.

Export to Word for UDO's

Hello Everyone
Primary Question:
Is it possible to activate Export-to-WORD for UDO Screens and can we achieve the same functionality as Exporting Invoices and ToDoLetters for our User Screens. Can we design a template and push data into the word document.I want to know if this has been done before and if so how.Can anyone share the code and methodology of pushing line items into a dynamically growing table in Word. I'm sure that this can be achieved easily by Crystal Reports but the client doesn't want CR so i have to achieve this one way or another through MS Word.
Secondary Question:
Does printing through SAP utilise the fast printing of Dot-Matrix printers as printed by dos?

fast printinting is there, you have to change the printer settings and select low pixcels per inch.

Importing warehouse accounts using DTW for segmentation

Sir,
I want to import warehouse accounts using DTW for segmentated company.I have imported chart of accounts for the same(Say Plant1,Plant2,Plant3).I get error "reveneue account required,revenue account, appliaciton defined or object defined error".Kindly help me in solving this issue.

Where are you getting this error I get error "reveneue account required,revenue account, appliaciton defined or object defined error".
Is it in COA import or Warehouse GL Import?
It your Inventory GL is set by Warehouse and you want to import the Warehouses with the GL Accounts, you will need to use the Warehouse template found inside folder oWarehouses
