Dual 1.25 MDD audio/mic input jack broken--Need replacement parts??

Hello. I'm in need of the audio input/output 1/4" jacks on the rear of the logic board of my Mac dual 1.25 Mirror Door Drive tower. They appear to be assembled in one unit. It has "312HB" markings on it. Somehow the Mic input has physically broken and will not keep the 1/4" mic plugged in. Apple told me that I need to replace the entire board. I know that's not true. Everything works fine. I just don't have any audio/mic input. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement part or maybe even a junk logic board that I can grab the jack from and solder it onto my board? I've torn apart all my ancient PCs out in the shed and they don't have the same type units. Any help or tips would be great.
Thanks much,
Robert

I had started this quest when I found out that I could get several other brands of webcams other than the iSight. The problem is that most of the ones that I saw that did have a built in mic, needed to still be input into the audio in. I think I solved it tho. I finally won an iSight on ebay whch is supposed to have an internal mic and runs thru the firewire. I probably spent way too much but I know it's worth it to not have to deal with the headaches. The plug still bugs the heck out of me tho. I just always have to have everything in tip top shape.

  • Dumb question - G4 mic input jack

excuse my ignorance here, but i've got an (old-ish)Powermac G4, which has a Mic-in jack with a symbol of a microphone next to it. Is this the same as the line-in jack i've seen on other models?
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

No. Line in levels and mic levels are two different things, but it shouldn't hurt to plug it in and give it a try. Just don't be disappointed if it doesn't work

Aaand problem still exists. It just turns out that my laptop mic has taken over from the mic port for some reason. Not sure why it won't recognize that anything is plugged in in the mixer despite stating in the little task bar window that an audio device was plugged in whenever I do it.
Try to use the 4 pin to 3 pin headphone adapter and see if the problem still remains.

  • H470: Broken "Input tray" (Paper Tray) -- Replacement part ideas?

My HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer's "input tray" (or paper tray, lid, or closing lid) is broken. One of the 2 little "pegs" that work as its hinge have broken off. (Thanks, fabulous pet dog.) The part number, I believe, is CB028-67002.
Until I find a replacement, I must now manually feed-in paper.
I found an after market part online: The plastic lid for $140! A used H470 on ebay now is $125. I believe I've found a "refurbished" for $60.  I will send a question direct to HP, but not feeling hopeful.
Ideas, anyone? If I should junk this printer -- which should be its replacement? Thanks!

  • Adobe Audition with M-Audio Fast Track Pro mic input

I must be missing a setting somewhere.  I have two mics going into the M-Audio Fast Track Pro (XLR inputs).  Mic 1 works fine but no input from Mic 2 although I have audio coming through my headsets when speaking into Mic 2 - it just doesn't register in Adobe Audition.  I have switched mics and cables and all are fine.  The issue is with Mic 2.
Again, Mic 1 is working fine and Mic 2 is picking up audio and feeding to my headphones but not to Adobe Audition.  I have all the latest drivers installed.
I am on a Win7 (32bit) system.  Microphones are Shure PG-42's (phantom powered condenser microphones).
I contacted M-Audio support and phone-verified that all Fast Track Pro settings were proper.  Seems to be a setting or driver issue in Audition.  I've spent hours trouble-shooting to no avail.  In the meantime, I'm using a Y-splitter running both mics into Mic Input 1 on the Fast Track Pro which works fine but I really need seperate control over each microphone.  I have interviews coming up soon and would like to find a resolution quickly.  Can anyone help?  Thanks!

Archie!  Good stuff!  I'm almost there...
I've got my Adobe Audition set up with the settings you gave me - everything is armed and good-to-go... but then...
When I hit record Tracks one and two look like they're recording but there is no level (no audio) going into the tracks.
If I go back to the Edit view and try to record the entire fills with green as if I'm filling it 100% with sound.  This has never happened before.
I suspect I've got something hosed-up in my "Audio Hardware Setup" under the Edit section.
My selections for Audio Driver Setup are:
    1)  M-Audio USB ASIO
    2)  ASIOforALLv2
    3)  Audition 3.0 Windows Sound
If you could give me some direction as to the settings in "Audio Harware Setup" I feel I've almost got it.
    Thanks!

  • Speaker output into mic input g5 garageband audio recording

anyone ever take the speaker output and put it into the mic input to be able to record anysound on computer?--i have done it on window machines--i know about audio hyjack pro

See my answer to the other thread you opened. When you do that, you have a double conversion (first D/A, then A/D - though I don't know what actually happens when you use a capturing software like AudioHijack), you might create a hum etc.

  • Signal (buzz) from mic input on Nokia N8

Hi, I'd like to record audio from the sound mixer to my Nokia N8.
    So I bought reducer from 4pin to 2x 3pin 3.5mm jack (speakers + mic)
But when I connected the mix output (Main 6.3 Jack L) to the phone's mic input,
it began to buzz from loudspeaker connected to Main XLR L (these outputs on the mix are probably linked)
When I started to record or turned the music on, buzzing disappeared
So I thing it's system controlled signal for control buttons on headset
I need to have disabled it all the time while the phone is connected to the mix
Is there any way to disable it?

  • Audio Line Input for 6930P

The 6930P is one of several laptops I own. On each of the others, if I plug a line level audio source into the input jack and select "LINE" in control panel, I get audio. On the 6930P, while I can get audio on the input jack with control panel set to mic, I cannot get any audio with control panel set to line.
Just to be clear in my question, the audio source is a line level source, not a mic level source. When a line level source is plugged into a mic level input, the audio is overdriven and distorted. When I plug a line level source into the input jack on the 6930P, the audio is overdriven and distorted, as expected. It is normal and correct for a line level audio source to overdrive a mic leve input. On my other laptops, the problem is solved by switching to the line level input for the sound card. Switching to line level on this computer does not allow ANY audio to show up.
So the question is, does the 6930P have a line level input funtion?
(I'm aware that I can get that functionality with an external or PCMCIA sound card, but the question is about the hardware input jack on the internal sound card on the 6930P.)

I know it's a long time ago now ,and you may not even have this laptop any more, but did you ever end up finding a solution to this issue? I have the exact same issue and can't seem to find a solution anywhere!

  • Audio: no input - output devices macbook pro late 2011

My computer has no audio input or output devices anymore.
This problem appeared after I had used a software oscilloscope to test an amplifier. The amp was connected through the mic input. It worked for a couple of minutes and then the audio went mute. I'm suspecting, that the circuits took a hit although the input power wasn't excessive.
I have reinstalled the OS, restarted the coreaudio daemons, plugged-in / out a mini jack, reinitialized the audio preference files but all with no results. The audio is dead... as if the relative circuits where non existant .
The Apple hardware test doesn't seem to see the audio circuits and ends with a "all ok".
I'm left with the following questions :
Is there a hardware test for audio ? Is there a fuse / protection circuit for the audio circuit ?
    Thank's for any ideas.
    See sig. for hardware

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem and It happened in a similar situation.
    Did you find a solution?
    Thanks

    Hi All
I picked this up from the forum and it worked for me. The Gnd and Out puts L & R are ok. My Mic however does not work, MIc is fine if plugged into rear connections. Plugs are a little loose but if I can put the mic issue to bed then I will wire up a better plug.

  • Please help- M-audio mic nova and fast track usb not working

    Hi All,
I just purchased a m-audio nova microphone and the fast track usb interface. I was hoping to use this to record overhead voice. However, it doesn't seem to work. I plugged in a regular microphone in both the mic and guitar input and it seemed to work. Am I missing something? I have set audio-in to fast track in both systems preference and garageband preference. The output remained built-in because my speakers are plugged into my desktop. I also tried output using the fasttrack and plugged my speakers into the fast track's interface and the my old microphone also worked ok. Is it my newly purchased m-audio nova microphone that is not working?
    Thanks.

Sorry about that, the regular mic is not the m-audio, it has an on/off switch. I am not familiar with audio gear terms, I apologize that. When I plug this mic in, it works in both the guitar input and the mic input on the usb interface (m-audio fast track). I can also plug this mic into a guitar amp. I hope that makes sense. Even when I plug it into my G5, it works, although I use an adaptor for the plug (same size as a headphone jack).

  • External mic inputs and speaker outputs for CP-7937G Conf Phone

Has any tried to connect the Polycom® SoundStation IP Multi-Interface to the Cisco Conference Station CP-7937G Phone, it appears to be the only way to get eextra mic inputs and line level outputs for enhancing conference call?  See attached Quick Start Guide.

Here's where I am on interfacing external mikes, PCs, speakers, etc. with the Cisco 7937. It seems this I/O port is quite a mystery to both Cisco and the manufacturer (Polycom). There are virtually no technical specs for it anywhere on line. So, I bought a variety of cables and connectors and tried exploring. I could never get anything but input into the 7937 to work. I could never get any output from it despite the output symbol next to the port. Here are the input test results:
3 pole 2.5mm to dual stereo 3.5mm breakout cable didn't work at all
4 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input worked only on one pole (red connection). Half volume?
3 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input works only on white connector (louder?)
3 pole 2.5mm to mono 3.5mm for input, works (louder?)
2 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input, works
2 pole 2.5mm to mono 3.5mm for input ,works, and is simplest.
So, if you want to feed an external audio source into the Cisco 7937, almost any type of 2.5mm male connector cable at the 7937 will work
I could never find any mention of successful use online, and could not find an output signal myself, so I suspect the 7937 was just mislabeled.
