How To Move Fibre Card To New Mac?

I just moved the fibre card to another G5 Dual 2.0 and downloaded the driver from Apple, but I'm not getting any love (green lights) on the fibre card. Not sure where the original discs are, so I'm just winging it.

There is a fibre card utility from Apple that will report on the state of your fibre card and let you know if it's "working" from the computer's point of view.
If it's not in your Applications > Server folder it is here: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/fibrechannelutility20.html
On a more basic level open Apple System Profiler or About This Mac > More Info... and you will be able to see the hardware report on your computer. There should be a Fibre Channel report on the list if your card is installed and SCSI Target devices on it if it's running.
If your card isn't installed correctly you'll get zero love from the RAID in terms of mounting or data.
If the card is up and running then the mounting should be automatic. Does it show up as a SCSI target device on your System Profiler report? What does Disk Utility show when you open it up?
Any chance you had LUN masking on? It seems to me LUN masking should move with the card because it is hardware addresses but I've never had to do it. Can you Admin in the RAID over ether and check the LUN masking status? Using fstab to control partitions and LUN to suppress slices is the only "software" filtering I know of that can alter what you see assuming the hardware is working.

Dual ADC AGP card supplier?

I'm trying to assist a user who is looking to replace a dead dual ADC graphics card (RADEON blah blah) in one of the first PowerMac G5s. Can someone recommend a suitable dual ADC card and UK supplier? [Cheers]
I seem to recall that you have to be careful when sourcing AGP cards in Macs i.e. you need to get the 'Mac Edition' in the case of ATI, but am not sure about Nvidia etc. Am I barking up the wrong tree thinking that the cards in question have extra pins (for power)?

Apple fibre card LOUD

After waiting for who knows how long to get a fibre card from Apple, I popped it into my mac pro and was SHOCKED how loud the little fan on the card is.
What's the deal?

Mine was quiet for almost 8 months, and now has started to make all types of noises.
I am sure that it is the fan on its final leg.

Regarding the miniPCI WLan card:
Such part upgrade is not officially supported and therefore details about compatible cards are not available.
But from my knowledge many different notebook series have been equipped with different WLan card from Realtek, Intel and Atheros.
Probably such cards would be compatible even if they are not listed officially as supported part.

Just insert the card into a slot. If the system automatically boots, login as root and issue the command devfsadm.
If it stops at the ok-prompt, issue (after attaching the D1000) the command probe-scsi-all. Does it display the disks in the D1000 ? If successful, boot the system with boot -rv (tells the Solaris that the configuration has changed and displays verbose messages during boot).
How to attach the cables and terminator to the D1000 is described in the D1000 documentation under Related Documentation.

StorageTek Fibre Card initialisation?

I have installed a Sun StorageTek PCI-E Ent 4GB Bus Single Channel Fibre Card (SG-XPCIE1FC-QF4) on a Sun Server x4150.
This fibre card is used to interface with a Sun StorageTek SL48 Tape Library directly via fibre.
However, looking at a Sun document on cfgadm on HBA installations:
I believe i don't have any recognised fibre cards detected? i.e. type fc
Do i need do something to initialise this card?
Our Solaris version is 10 5/08.

I have got my fibre card configured now.
I simply did added the file /reconfigured to activate the refresh of the configurations. So now its available and configured.
Can someone point me to any links or information or give me a quick overview on how to configure and backup files to the tape drive please?

Dual Radeon video card -- Second card Unknown/4th monitor

My initial plan was to use four monitors on my Radeon HD 6790 as follows:
1 Single-link DVI-D = monitor1 dvi
1 Dual-link DVI-I = monitor2 dvi
1 Display Port = monitor3 dvi with adapter
1 HDMI = new monitor
This did not work as I could not use the hdmi port with the second dvi plugged in so I decided to buy a second cheaper ati card (the 6450) to power the fourth monitor. Well of course that did not work as well since the 2nd video card was identified as UNKNOWN via the Ctalyst control Center(amdcccle).
This is how I currently have my monitors plugged in:
6790 (Main card):
1x dvi
1x dvi via DisplayPort
1x hdmi
6450 (Secondary card):
1x dvi
I tried for two days to get the second card identified by the Catalyst driver and I ended up borking my system in the process. So now I am on week two of getting this setup to work with no avail so I decided to post a new thread.

Notice the fourth monitor is labeled as "1-Default monitor" instead of hdmi (or whatever) and the second card is not listed.
I am literally at my wit's end trying to figure this out. So basically I am wondering if anyone has a clue where to begin trying to get the 2nd video card identified or is it even possible with the current Catalyst driver? I know my hardware can power it fine as it works perfectly on my Windows gaming partition.

I have it working now using catalyst-total but with separate X sessions on each monitor. Not the ideal setup but it works for now.

Dual Monitor video cards for HP Pro 3400

I am looking to add a 2nd monitor to my HP Pro 3400 MT and want to make sure I get a video card that will not have any compatibility issues. I'm not doing any gaming so I don't think I need anything super fancy and I would prefer not to have to upgrade the power supply.
So my questions are:
Is the HP Pro 3400 MT compatible witha PCI Express 3.0 card? 2.1 ?
How much power draw from the video card would require me to upgrade the power supply (my PC is stock, no added peripherals). Is there a way for me to determine how much is being currently (no pun intended) drawn?
Are there any drawbacks to usnig the built-in video card for 1 monitor and a new, single-ouput card for the other (vs a dual-output card) ?
Anything else I need to consider when deciding on a new video card?

Which dual DVI video card for Mac Pro?

We just got a Mac Pro at work with a single DVI port video card. Want to use 2 monitors, but don't want to order an incompatible card. Don't need screaming performance, just a stable setup for a sprawling desktop with some applications running low-res/low-frame-rate animation.
One Evga card that looked like about the right specs was shown on MacMall's site as 'platform: universal' but the manufacturer's site specifed Windows and Vista. Called MacMall and tech support said it wasn't supported. So, now I'm suspicious.
Anyone have a list of decent cards that will work? Would like to keep it at or under $100.

You could just add an adapter, though not everyone is happy with that, for your 2nd port on the GT120.
