Dual folder panels in Bridge CS4?

I would like to create a workspace for quickly moving/copying photos between folders. Is it possible to have two "Folders" panels in the same workspace like this:
[Folders] [Preview] [Folders]
So far, when doing file operations I've had the "Folders" panel on the left side and have had to scroll a lot up and down in order to drag, scroll up/down, then drop. Not very efficient.

I was able to create two browser windows side by side and drag/drop files or folders between them. Too bad I can't save the setup, but at least this makes it easier than scrolling through a long list of folders each time. Thanks for your suggestion!

Using SDK to create custom XMP panel in Bridge CS4

Using the SDK materials how exactly does one go about creating their own custom XMP panel for Bridge CS4?
I feel like I'm getting close- I was able to copy the BasicControlSamplePanel folder from SDK to my local C drive @
C:\Documents and Settings\tony\Application Data\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\panels
I figure once that file is in the right place I can simply modify it to get custom fields
Now when I did this I noticed in Bridge when rightclicked on an image and clicked file info- the BasicControlSamplePanel tab was visible but upon clicking on BasicControlSamplePanel tab there was nothing in this dialogue box. Tried restarting computer- and still nothing- seems like it is the correct folder what do I need to do to get the properties to show up

Using CS3 Web Photo Gallery Control Panel in Bridge CS4?

I found where the styles are located in the library, and it doesn't look like the old templates will work with the new Output feature of Bridge. I want to use my old templates from CS3 that I have customized, and would like to use them with Bridge. I have installed the extra Goodies, but they will only work through Photoshop, not Bridge.
Is there a way to have Bridge>Tools>Photoshop bring up the legacy version control panel for the Web Photo Gallery?

I'm not a Lightroom user, but the new Web Photo Galleries that come in CS4 are in Bridge. They are Lightroom templates, so there's probably not much difference. I just tried building a gallery in CS4 Bridge with 35 files, and I could not preview more than 10 either through Bridge or in a browser by pressing the preview button. The only way to preview the entire gallery before uploading was by saving the folder, then opening the index file in a browser.
Web Photo Galleries can be created in Photoshop and Bridge CS4 just like they were in previous versions of Photoshop and Bridge. You do need to configure it using the optional Goodies files since it is not part of the initial installation. It's real easy. The link I posted above has more information. Here it is again:

If you do that, you'll have the best of both worlds. You'll have the option of creating web photo galleries with html templates in Bridge or Photoshop CS4, previewing them easily (regardless of size), and have the option of using the new Lightroom flash templates in Bridge CS4.

Flash Builder 4 and Bridge CS4

Hi everybody, absolute newbie here. I need to develop a custom metadata panel for Bridge CS4, it will be based on this post http://idletechnology.blogspot.com/2011/12/adobe-xmp-panel-improvements.html
I downloaded Flash Builder 4 and the FileInfo SDK 5.1. The problem is it apparently won't work in Bridge CS4, so I downloaded FileInfo SDK 4.4, which in turn doesn't work in Flash Builder 4.
What should I do to be able to develop the panel for Bridge CS4?

After a tremendous amount of frustration and days of exhaustive web searching, which yielded nothing, I stumbled across the answer by accident while leaving work so I thought I'd share it with you incase anyone else is experiencing the same frustration using flash builder 4 and windows authentication.
The resolution:
Turn off the flash builder 4 built-in network monitor.

Navigate Using Folder Panel

When I click once or twice on a folder in the folder panel in Bridge CS3 it does not bring this folder up in the content panel.
Is this correct? Is there a preference I haven't specified?
I'm sure you could navigate using the folder panel in CS2.

Never tried that, but I know that when they did away with Image Ready in CS3 they eliminated certain options. To start an animated GIF in PhotoShop by importing frames as layers it opens with "No Matches" you have to type in *.gif to see the files. Don't know if something like that will help in Bridge or not.

Output panel Bridge CS4 is blank

In Bridge C4 the output panel is blank. No option to make contact sheets or a web galery.
I enabled the startup script for the output module, I have reset all the preferences (ctrl at startup fo Bridge) and I reset the standard workspace. I also reinstalled CS4. Updated etc. Nothing worked.
When I look in the folder startup scripts I see no file at all.
Can someone help me?

Try this. It's been reported as successfully solving this issue for a customer recently.
Manually reset preferences, purge the entire thumbnail cache and reset your default workspace:
Note: If you are unable to find the Application Data folder, enable Windows to show hidden files and folders. For instructions, see the documentation included with Windows.
Delete the entire contents of the Cache folder located at C:\Documents and Settings\ [user] \Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS4.
Delete the "!!Last.workspace" file located at C:\Documents and Settings\ [user] \Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Workspaces.
Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Preferences

Bridge CS4 Filenames in Content panel

I know that in previous versions of Bridge that the file and folder names would come up under the thumbnails in the Content panel. Now I noticed that with Bridge CS4 in Windows 7 that the only way to know what the image, folder, etc is, would be to click each one to get the filename in the Preview panel. Some folders have a name placed on top of the folder image, but not all. I am more interested in knowing which image file is a jpg, gif, psd, tif, etc .
It's not a big deal ... just make life a little easier to work.

Bridge CS4 freezes when I open a folder with avi files

Whenever I navigate to a folder with avi files, Bridge CS4 freezes. I have tried resetting my preferences, changing the file associations, but it still hangs. Both Windows and Bridge are set up to associate avi files with VLC Media Player. The files open and play just fine in VLC. I am running CS4 on a Win XP Pro machine. It used to not be a problem and I could play avi files in Bridge. I'm not sure when the problem started since I don't shoot a lot of video. Any ideas?

Thx for that im gonna try it....but is there a way to do it without using toolbar or cmd-c...? i mean using only the mouse?why does it have to highlight the file even though i click a bit next to it....?using icon view i can right click next to the folder and i wont have a problem but with list view that i prefer using it will highlight the whole row.....and i dont find free space to right click cause i got many files

Bridge CS4 downloader won't browse to folder with Windows 7 64 bit

I recently installed PS CS4 on a new PC with Windows 7. I used the Bridge downloader as usual to download my photos to a particular folder. Everything worked as expected as it did when I used Windows XP. When I tried this the second time, the Bridge downloader would only let me browse to the folder from the previous download. I could not see any of my subfolders or choose the destination folder I wanted. What is Windows 7 in Bridge CS4 doing to prevent me from browsing to the destination folder of my choice?

Bridge CS4 is stuck in one folder...

Bridge CS4 has "frozen". I can not navigate to any other folder than the one it is. Has it run out of memory?

I've rebooted. Haven't tried restting preferences.
If restarting Bridge did not solve it try the menu tools/ Cache/ Purge cache for folder. If that also does not work try restarting Bridge holding down option key and choose refresh preferences.
Could you report back on that?

Bridge CS4 Won't Reopen the last folder used after reboot . . .

When I restart Win XP (32 bit) and open Bridge CS4 it opens to a specific folder (the same one every time) but NOT the last one used. My Workspaces also seem to be forgotten. Is there a way to specify the folder that you want Bridge to open?
Any thoughts?

Custom XMP panels don't show in Bridge CS4's Metadata palette

I've got a CS4 custom XMP panel working (using the "Generic" panel in the SDK) but I can't get it to display in the metadata palette of Bridge CS4 (the thing normally bottom right in the default Bridge "essentials" view).
In the old CS3 format, you could do this by adding an "fbname" attribute to fields of the custom panel. How do we now do this in the new SDK?
The Bridge metadata palette is mentioned on page 25 of the SDK programmer's guide, but the example given is merely of Dublin Core keywords (i.e. dc:subject) so shows in the Bridge metadata palette by default already.

Following on from this question, is it possible to build up a Metadata panel group of fields drawn from different namespaces? (by group I mean something like the IPTC Core label and arrow which expands into the IPTC fields).
One would have a heading such as "My data", which when expanded shows x fields from one namespace #1 and y fields from namespace #2. I've tried to do this by leaving the namespace blank and hardcoding it and the prefix into the properties' name argument - eg http://ns.adobe.com/photoshop/1.0/photoshop:Urgency

Adding Lens to Filter Panel - Bridge CS4

Very new to Photoshop and Bridge CS4 so stilling learning the basics of the applications. After installing I believe I saw Lens in the Filter Panel on the left side of the screen. I no longer see that item to open it up. In fact right clicking in the FIlter Panel gives me a number of catagories to select. They are all selected (including Lens) but only 9 catagories appear in the filter section. How do I get the lens catagory to appear?

First check if you have used files that have been shot with different
lenses. A category in the filter panel only appears if there are two or more
different criteria present, otherwise there would not be any need to filter
Second, the lens has to be capable to interact with the EXIF data in the
camera, most of them do but not all. If a lens can't communicate with this
EXIF data the data will not be present in the metadata that comes with your
file and therefore not be seen by Bridge.
Last, check also the fly out menu top right of the filter panel, put your
mouse on it and you will see the list of filter categories appear. Those
with a checkmark in front are visible, those without are not.

Helas, CS4 does not 'remember' the settings as saved in a new workspace.
Once you have (re-)started the computer the bridge has to be re-arranged again.

All the thumbnails on right side of Bridge CS4 contents panel are cut off.
How do I get these thumbnails to appear in full?

I had the same exact problem. I had to go up to windows, workspace, reset
standard worspaces. By just resetting the orther "reset workspace" didn't fix
the problem.
