Dual G5 Doesn't see PB on Network

My Dual G5 is connected via ethernet to a Linksys wireless router. My PB has an airport card in it. The PB can see the Dual G5 and transfer files using it as the control point. But the Dual G5 cannot see the PB.
The Dual G5 does recognize the network to connect to the internet.
A week ago I had the logic board replaced. I got a new IP address so I had to reset my network parameters. Does this have anything to do with this issue?

A week ago I had the logic board replaced. I got a new IP address so I had to reset my network parameters. Does this have anything to do with this issue?
Probably yes, because I have no idea what you're talking about . I don't see the connection between a new logic board and a new IP address. What exactly do you mean with "reset my network parameters"?
But instead of answering this question, you could also try the following:
On the PB open System Preferences > Sharing.
Enable the Apple File Sharing service or whatever protocol you wish. Click on "show all".
In the same preference pane, but in the Firewall tab, click on "Advanced" make sure you don't use "stealth mode" or block UDP traffic - this is not needed because you're behind a router, which will demilitarize your private network.
The PB should now be visible. If not, make sure, they have the same router and the same subnet mask entered in System Preferences > Network.
If they haven't and you don't know how to change it, give us a little more information on your network setup, like whether the linksys is handing out DHCP or if you need to assign static IP addresses, which ranges you use and so on.
If they have, but you still can't see your PB, open /Applications/Utilities/Directory Access.app on your G5 and enable Bonjour.

  • Ipod Touch 4th Gen doesn't see my WIFI network.

I recently erased the ipod and set up as a new ipod (regifted to my daughter) and updated to 6.1.5.  It does not find my network now after the update.  All my other devices connect no issue, as did this ipod before the erase & update.  As a side note, the camera also disappeared after the update.  I erased it again and set it up as new again and the camera reappeared, but still no network.
I tried to manually enter my network by name and it says it's not found.

I was going to go to the Apple Store but it's nearly an hour away and we're under a foot of snow.  Any suggestions?

  • MacBookPro doesn't see TimeCapsule WiFi network after un-hibernating

    Hi everyone,
I'm seeing a strange issue in that, after resuming from 'deep sleep' (hibernate), my MacBook Pro 2,2 can't see my preferred wireless network. I get the dialog saying 'none of your preferred networks are available', which sometimes lists my preferred network (huh?), but the AirPort menu item always lists my preferred network.
Does anyone else get this? It's driving me nuts.
Additional Info: Wifi is WPA2 provided by TimeCapsule. MacBooks and iPhones work fine.

  • Apple TV 1G doesn't see my AirPort network anymore

I have an 1st-gen Apple TV with a 160 GB drive, which started having trouble connecting to the master iTunes library. I reset it to factory conditions using its menus.
After rebooting from that it failed to connect to my home network. It neither discovers it, nor can it connect to the network, when I spell out the SSID explicitly.
Probably this failure to get on the wireless network was the problem in the first place. Does this problem mean that my Apple TV is broken?

I thought that it might have something to do with the Timed Access Control in my AirPort Extreme base station, which only lets clients onto the network that have a MAC address already in a whitelist on the AirPort Extreme. Turning that feature off on the AirPort Extreme didn't change anything in terms of allowing my Apple TV onto the network. Plus, the Apple TV's MAC address had been programmed into that whitelist all along.

  • WES610N Doesn't See 5ghz Network

    Hello,
I have two WES610Ns running Firmware Version: 1.0.06 (latest) and they only see 2.4ghz networks. Performing a Wireless Network Site Survey or configuring the network manually doesn't see the 5ghz network. (Other devices are connecting to the router on 5ghz)
The router in question is an Asus RT-N56U running OpenWrt Barrier Breaker 14.07.
I have found a few posts with the same issues, but no solutions. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,
    John

Hi there, john_p_lynch! It's odd that you have experienced it with the two wireless bridges. Have you tried adjusting your router's wireless channel? I would suggest that you try reflashing the firmware of the wireless brigdes. After that, do a factory reset and reconfigure it. This is to make sure that it doesn't have a corrupted firmware.
It would also help connecting it with another dual band wireless router for further isolation.

  • Macbook doesn't see my network connection

My Macbook Pro (bought July 2012) doesn't see my wifi network at home but see others available. When I join other networks in different country (I travel a lot) and come home I can see it but when the mac goes to sleep I cannot connect again. Tried to find the help online, nobody seems to have the same issue. PC sees the network just fine.

  • Macbook Pro doesn't see Airport Express

    Hi,
I've been struggling with connection to my Airport Express.
My Macbook Pro (OS X 10.6.7 + all the latest updates) doesn't recognize it anymore. Occasionally, my wireless network was briefly visible to the Mac, but connecting to it only led to a time out. My Windows laptop from work did not have issues connecting, and neither did my iPhone...
I've done a reset of the AE, which did not help (my Windows laptop now shows the Apple Network XXXXX that is supposed to appear). However, the Airport Utility that is supposed to help me reinstall the thing from my Mac will not recognize it either...
Anyone any suggestions on where to go from here?

I am having the same problem. Right now i am sharing the wireless connection through the iPhone because my MBP2011 won't even see the SSID broadcasted by the airport express.
I hace tried emptying the keychain, emptying the list of known networks but nothing helps. It had the same kind of episode last week but after a lot of rebooting and editing of the AE over ethernet cable it started working again.
Tonight I came home from work, started the MBP and it wouldn't see the network. It has popped up once but clicking on it only resulted in a timeout error message.
Any help would be much appreciated! The AE is only a month old..

    OS: Lion latest update
Airport utility and AE are updated. The utility doesn't see the AE.

  • XP/Pro box doesn't see other computers on network after running CiscoConnect on it

Got a new E4200 on September 13 to provide internet and networking to a small business network.
There are 2 wired computers, one an XP/pro and the other a Win 7/64 bit.  Both worked straight out of the box in that  both had access to each others' files after plugging them into the E4200.  Two other wireless computers were connected using CiscoConnect, one a Vista and the other a Win 7, and all was fine.  All computers were able to see each others' file. Also managed to get a wireless Canon printer working even though CiscoConnect wasn't able to find it.
After I realized I didn't run CiscoConnect on the XP, I did so using the USB key created on the Win7 box and the result was that the XP box doesn't see any of the other computers although all the other computers can see the XP files.  After uninstalling CiscoConnect on the XP and rebooting, the XP can't access the other computer files but it can still access the internet and the wireless Canon printer that CiscoConnect can't find.  Rebooting or powering off/on the router didn't change this state.
Would appreciate any ideas in getting the XP back into the network.
    Firmware Version:
    1.0.02 build 13  May 24, 2011

    Update on above problem:
Performed a System Restore on the XP and partial networking functionality was restored.  The XP box now sees the Vista and the XP Explorer can see all computers under  the Workgroup.  Probing the Win 7 computers from XP's explorer the XP returns the following: message
\\Win7a is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resourc. Contact the a...
This message doesn't mean much to me as I have limited networking experience but somebody here might understand this clue.

  • ESX 3.5u3 doesn't see network after firmware update on x6250

    Hello,
We have got several Sun blade x6250 with ESX 3.5u3 with latest updates.
We have updated firmware on one of them from ELOM 4.0.45 -> ILOM 3.0.3.33 recently.
Now a ESX server doesn't see network:
Node ISOLATED form Network. Either repair network or override agent startup ...
I executed embedded PC-Check test, it saw all four NICs and said that they were 'Success'.
Also, I cleared statistic on a Cisco Catalist interfaces where the blade was connected.
After a day 'Receive' statistic is 0
Also, I tried to load the blade with DSL Linux, it didn't see network too.
Do you have any idea concerning the situation?
    Thanks!

  • Hardware Diagnostics Test doesn't see my network

I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro that I just purchased, refurbished.  I need to run a hardware diagnostics test on it as I am getting kernel panics after installing Adobe Creative Cloud.
I have confirmed that I have the ability to run this test.  I hit option D at startup as instructed but when I get to the screen to choose my network, Mac doesn't see it.  I even tried a wired ethernet connection and it's not seeing it.
I'm sitting in the same spot in the house as always and I can access wireless just fine when I start up normally.
    Can anyone help?  Thanks!

The AHT is almost completely useless, so you're not missing much. If you want to run it and you don't have the discs, you can order replacements from Apple customer service. You would do better to start a new thread describing the actual problem you have, rather than what you think is causing it or how you think it should be solved.

  • Apple TV doesn't see my network

I have a relatively new ATV - bought within the last 4 months or so. Initial set up without a hitch. Now, this morning, it disconnected from the network and I can't get it to reconnect. I've unplugged it, done a reset on my Airport Extreme base station, etc and it doesn't see my network. It sees a number of other networks in the vicinlty, but not mine. I've tried typing in the name of my network - nothing.
    Anybody have a solution?
    Thanks!

ok, never got the Apple TV to work wirelessly, but ended up moving an AP Express to the TV and plugging in the ATV to the e-net port of the express. not really the way I wanted it to work, but it does.

  • WRT54G & XBOX 360 Wireless Networking Adapter-Router doesn't see my SSID

I purchased a XBOX 360 networking adapter yesterday.  I hooked it up and serched for networks and it doesn't see my SSID through the linksys router.  Before I purchased the 360 adapter, I could hard hook it to the router and it worked fine.  I called 360 and they suggested that I open my MAC on the Linksys Router so that it would recognize it, but I do not know how to do that.  I know how to get into 192.168.1.1, but don't want to do anything crazy.  Please advise. I'm not a novice, but not an advanced router owner.  Thanks,
    WRT54G v.8

SSID Broadcast should be Enabled on your router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab-
Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...SSID Broadcast should be Enabled...Check what is your SSID(change the SSID if it is Linksys)...Click Save Settings if you have changed anything...
Click on the subtab Wireless Security, if the Security Mode is WPA/WPA2 change it to WEP, if it is WEP take not of Key1(this is your wireless security)...
    X-Box Setting :
    1. Connect the appropriate wireless network adapter to the console. On the Xbox, a Wi-Fi adapter that connects to the Ethernet port (sometimes also called a wireless network bridge) must be used. Alternatively, the Xbox 360 is also designed to work with certain Wi-Fi game adapters that connect to a USB port.
    2. Turn on the console and navigate to the wireless settings screen. On the Xbox, the menu path is "Settings -> Network Settings -> Advanced -> Wireless -> Settings" On the Xbox 360, the menu path is "System -> Network Settings -> Edit Settings."
    3. Set the SSID (network name) on the Xbox to match that of the wireless router. If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. Otherwise, select the "Specify Unlisted Network" option and enter the SSID there.
    4. Specify "Infrastructure" as the Network Mode. (Infrastructure is the mode used by wireless routers.)
    5. Set the Security Type to match that of the wireless router. If your router uses WPA encryption and the type of adapter connected to the Xbox does not support WPA, you will need to change your router settings to use WEP encryption instead.
Note that the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter supports WPA while the standard Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter (MN-740) only supports WEP.
    6. Save your settings and verify the network is functional.
On the Xbox, the Wireless Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made with the wireless router, and the Connect Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made through the Internet to Xbox Live.
On the Xbox 360, use the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option instead.

  • Networked Printer doesn't see my Mac, Running OS 10.8.2

My Envy Printer 411d all-in-one doesn't "see" my laptop (macbook pro 2012).  I can print from the computer to the printer, but scanning in either direction, from the printer to the computer and vice versa is not possible.  I get an error message - communications error.
The scan function shows my spouse's computer, but not mine (we both are running Mac OS 10.8.2 on MacBook Pro laptops.)
This has happened before and the only way around it, for me, was to take several hours to re-install the printer software.  When you do that, HP treats you like an altogether new customer and requests re-registration and all that.  We are already registered, however.
So please advise me me, I would like to know about an easier way to get the functionality I expect from this device.
    Thank you.

It could indeed be your router and using WEP security.  WEP is not actually security as it can be broken with freeware in a few minutes.
Switch your router security to WPA with a password that you create.  While you are in there, change the channel to 11 on the router's 2.4GHz mode.

  • If iPhone 6+ doesn't see WiFi network after iOS 8.3 upgrade, restart router and iPhone

PROBLEM: After upgrading my iPhone 6+ to iOS 8.3, the iPhone initially would not "see" the presence of my Apple Airport WiFi network.
This was bizarre because the credentials were saved on the iPhone, the WiFi network had been continuously up, my Mac Air remained continuously logged in to the Airport WiFi, and the iPhone was able to see other WiFi networks I didn't wish to connect to such as xfinity's and the neighbor's. Just not mine.
Manually entering the network name and password had no effect.
SOLUTION: Restart the Airport WiFi router. Then restart the iPhone 6+. Now the iPhone 6+ sees and connects to the WiFi network automatically as usual.
    Hope this helps some folks!

I Apologize for the long overdue reply. If your using a pc with your iPhone it is a common problem i noticed since i had iPhone 3GS, although it can occasionally happen with mac but you if backed the phone with the issue will get the same issue you had since it will be in the backup it backups software on phone as well you see.
