Dual ipads for in-car entertainment

I'm going with its probably not possible but..
I have two kids; the eldest has had an ipad to watch tv/films on for the last couple of months in the back of the car. The youngest is now getting to the age where it would keep her quiet as well.
Is there a way to play the same content via two ipads, other than pressing play on both at the exact same time? I *could* go and buy some random in-car entertainment devices but as I have all my content in iTunes and two iPads then it seems a bit pointless...

the dvi port on the dock doesn't support the analogue signal of a VGA, so you can't use a simple DVI to VGA adapter.
You would need to get a Lenovo usb2dvi adapter (with the dvi2vga adapter that you got) to get the additional vga port.

  • Playing video from an iPad through a car tv screen

I connected my I pad to the tv in my Toyota van with video aux cables but the screen still says "no input". How can I project videos from my iPad on the car tv screen? Is there an app that I need? I have a 600 mile drive with 2 toddlers this weekend and need a solution quick!

    original ipad reply:
if you are using the composite video adapter from the ipad to the car's monitor, and if this is actually supported
in the toyota van, it might just because the individual apps need the video output adapter enabled, and until you
run a program, like the video player and actually play something, a no video input message is the correct behavior

this should work i dont know why its not displaying on the toyota van, maybe you shoud ask your dealer for advice

  • Macbook Air and iPad for College/ General Use?

Hi all, I've recently gotten a tax rebate to the tune of £1500 pounds and since I'm returning to college in September I'd like to purchase a MacBook Air in order to have a way to take down notes in a far more efficient form. I currently own a 2010 iMac so I can used that for storage and entertainment meaning the MacBook doesn't need to be anything special in terms of performance.
I currently have two options that I'm interested in, buy an 11 inch MacBook Air (Don't need the 13 if I'm honest) and I'll have enough money to buy an iPad (for use as a Filofax/ E-Reader/ something to prat about on).
OR I could sink the money into a MacBook Pro (putting extra to it of course) and get more performance.
Or maybe there's a third option that I've missed? Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Seriously, look at the specs and price...
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shopmac/family/macbookair?afid=p219%7CGOUS&cid=OAS-US-KWG-CPUMacBookAir-US
    Then compare... for example...
    http://www.shopping.hp.com/notebooks
    Or try dell.
    http://www.dell.com/us/p/popular-laptop-deals?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ST=cheap%20l aptop&dgc=ST&cid=35911&lid=894403&acd=52183,8,0,100035970,763349761,1296893920,, 11758726,5701123461&redirect=1
Then ask yourself that question again.
You should be able to get a 6-9 cell quad core with 4-8gigs ram and a 64 bit OS for 1/3 the price of the core duo 2gig air. 9 cell battery is where your cost goes up, it's the difference between 9 hours (6 cell) and 13 hours (9 cell) of battery life.
But a quad core 4 gig 6 cell 64bit OS laptop will run you about $499 -$699. And it will bury the $1600 air 500 feet in the ground without breaking a sweat, all while watching p0rn, playing call of duty and streaming netflix as it digs the hole.
I guess the real question is, do you want to buy a computer to make a fashion statement, or do you want to buy a computer to use as a computer?

  • IPad for education

Is ipad really helpful in education? Are there any commerce textbooks for AS and A levels available in the new iPad?
I am planning to buy an iPad if it is helpful for me in education like:
    i)reading textbooks
    ii)watching tutorials
    etc.

This is just my opinion and I am sure people will shout at me for sharing it but I see so many people try to justify using iPad for work/school when really a laptop would be far more suitable. I'm not saying iPad isn't a good device, I have one myself and I love it, I just stick to using it for what it is actually useful for: entertainment.
In your message you said you will be using it for reading textbooks and watching tutorials, actually I go against what I said, if you only do that, it will be great, as long as the books you need are available in the iTunes store. But if you are going to be needing to do any kind of writing or other documents then just get a laptop.
iPad is a great companion to laptop but doesn't quite replace it just yet

  • How do I connect my ipad to my car stereo without the ipad screen message 'Accessory connected'

How do I connect my ipad to a car stereo without the screen message showing, 'Accessory connected', which prevents me being able to select the music I want from ipad screen.

Read the stereos owners manual. My Pioneer deck has a setting to allow iPod control which works for the iPad as well.

  • Address of apple to send in ipad for replacement

I would like to retun my ipad for an exchange, sine my ipad was faulty and customer care has asked me to send it via post,
can any one give me the addres to where i haev post it, so that i can get a new one

    Hello, Genusha,
The information Carolyn pointed you to would be applicable if you just received your iPad and it was faulty right out of the box. Otherwise, you must contact Apple tech support and get approval to send in your iPad. Once Apple agrees that it needs servicing, they'll send you a prepaid shipping box with the appropriate instructions and address labels. Do not attempt to ship it to any address at Apple yourself; Apple will just reject the shipment. You can get more information here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
You can also take the iPad to an Apple Store, if there's one in your area.
    Regards.

pls somebody should tell me what to do before i lose my mind because its really frustrating

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Connect iPad to Honda Odyssey Entertainment Display

Purchasing a 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring which has the entertainment system. Anyway for me to play videos from my iPad to the the entertainment unti in the second row? I am aware of the RCA connections in the back how can I use those or connect via Bluetooth? I also have an AppleTV, is that an option?

Jailbroken discussion is not allowed here. It is very unlikely an enterprise app could be able to do this.
I would think that a touchscreen needs connection via USB as well as VGA. Since the VGA adapter connects to the dock port you cannot use any other type of connection with it. Even so, it would require some way of accepting external pointing capability which is not in iOS.

  • IPhone iOS4 unable connect to my Car Entertainment Unit

I have recently bought a Car Entertainment Unit, Pioneer DEH-5250SD, which work great with my Iphone, ipod function. Was able to use the unit to control the playback function, song selection, search function, basically most of the function of the ipod.
HOWEVER when I upgraded the iOS4, ERROR 19 was shown the unit. Nothing was heard! The two units did not work properly. Should I downgrade back to OS 3.13

I have recently done the exact same thing. Does anyone know if there is a resolution for this problem yet. Also running OS4 on the iPhone 3Gs.

  • IPad charging in car and connection to CD changer unit at the same time

    Hi all,
Firstly, this is my first post here, so apologies if my post is either considered rude or unto wards in any fashion. Apologies also if this question has been covered elsewhere - I have searched the forums to sone extent, but cannot guarantee that I haven't missed something!
I'm looking for a splitter cable for in-car use with the iPad.
The specifics of my car stereo are as such :
    no bluetooth
    No AUX either.
I have a CD Changer connect at the rear of the car head unit, to which is attached a factory installed cable. This cable is CD Changer plug for the car stereo end, going to 30-pin connector at the other end.
This is a perfect solution for my old iPod photo - it allows me to control the iPod via the car stereo, AND charge the iPod at the same time.
    However...
I have an iPad 2 which I would like to use in place of the iPod photo. I wish to plug the iPod (Music app) into the car stereo, and use one of the GPS apps, AND charge the iPad 2 all at the same time.
There is not enough juice coming from the car stereo to allow me to do all this concurrently, as you will probably be aware. If my car journeys were short, I would not be too worried, but I often use the car for journeys that are longer than 10 hours. The iPad, with the GPS and iPod apps running at the same time, will not remain "alive" for this amount of time - the longest I've managed is about 6 and a half hours before the iPad runs out of juice.
So I'm looking for a splitter that I can slot into the dock connection of the iPad and will split into USB for the cigar lighter and into a 30 pin (female) that will go to the 30 pin (male) connector that runs to the CD Changer port on the car stereo.
In other words (and I hope this diagram works) :
                                                                  IPad
                                                             USB.     30-pin (f)
                                                            /.                 30-pin (m)
                                                Cigar lighter.                CD Changer plug
I have looked everywhere on line, have contacted various cable suppliers (such as USBFever) but up 'till now I have had no joy.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Rudegar, for your reply.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to start, not being terribly technically minded. And I'm not sure that this would be an economic resolution - would this involve buying soldering irons etc.? And would I be able to be sure that I wouldn't mess something up, and cause overheating/other damage to the iPad itself?
Surely this must be a fairly common problem, however? I'm sure that I'm not the only one looking for such thing??
    Anyone else have a solution?
    Thanks.

  • Calling IPad for Facetime

Why is a caller directed to my iphone  number when they dial my ipad number

I think it's a problem with unlocked phones cos if you google it you come across a lot of people in different locations using different carriers having this problem. i'm hoping its a software and not a hardware problem.
I have a dual sim for the same number and when i use the other microsim in my iphone 4 i can send/recieve text messages just fine. i have a problem only on the iphone 5.

  • Mac Mini and ipads for the family

In the near future, I would like to replace my older PowerPC G5 with a Mac Mini. Then, I would like to purchase a couple of ipads for my wife and two kids, who primarily use the G5 for email, web surfing, and light-duty work such as organizing (ical), filing documents, and using spreadsheets/word processing software, with occasional photo-editing. Essentially, we would set up accounts for each user on the Mac Mini where all of the files/photos/organizing would be stored, and then just tap into them via housefhold wifi with the ipads as needed. Any major computing could still be done directly on the Mini (and I also have a newer MacBook), as needed. An added bonus would be that we would also use the Mini as our household media hub for streaming music to entertainment center and video/movies to the TV. I really like this scenario, as it would allow for greater flexibility and portability, while still serving the needs of the family. I think this can be easily done, and suspect the experience could be enhanced by a few apps, but I haven't researched that end of things yet. First, I wanted to ask the folks here if this is a realistic plan? Also, would I be better off with the Mac Mini or Mac Mini Server? Any and all input is welcome, as well as helpful suggestions from those who have already done this. Thanks in advance!

It sounds realistic, I haven't done it though, & I don't think there'll be much diff between the Server & Client models for what you want to do.
