Dual Manufacturing/ One plant/ Two manufacturing sites

Hi,
Client wants to implement dual manufacturing in their plant which has two manufacturing sites which are miles apart, manufacturing the same products. These manufacturing sites are exclusive by their Storage Locations, shipping points. For MTO scenario, client wants to manually split the Customer Demand between the two sites based on external capacity assessment. How do I split the demand from a production order which is auto created on a sales order creation?
The ideas I had in mind were
1) To use MRP areas (assign both the sites storage location to two MRP areas) but then MRP area works well for MTS and not MTO
2) Production versions(with alt BOM & RTG)- but since a few Ferts are VC, I dont see how I can use Prod versions.
3) Parallel/Alternate Sequences in RTG - where I can change the change the sequence manually (in case of alternate sequence) in Prod Order and change the Order quantity(to less than SO qty) and during the next MRP run a planned order is created for the deficit, But then how do I incorporate the Pegged requirements and the different Issuing storage location.
Could you guys give me you perspective on this and what could be a possible solution to my scenario?
P.S. I know they should have gone for two plants in the first place but it wasn't done, so we have to find a path around it.

Dear,
you can make two different routings for different sites against a material and also two different production versions. At the time of production order creation, partially covert planned order into production order by selecting production version for desired site.

by this activity your registers will get spoiled. becuse by reversal it doesnot take out the enteries from registers.

Routing issue between two satellites sites and one central hub

Hi,
I have 3 Ad sites with one exchange 2010 hub,cas,mailbox server on each sites.
One of this site (site A) is central Hub and the two other sites ( B and C) are two satellites of site A.
The is no connectivity between site B and C, only connectivity between A and B, and A and C.
When I send a mail from Site B to Site C, Exchange try to deliver the mail directly to site C and don't pass to site A to deliver to site C, some mail stay in queue in site B, and the the queue is in retry.
I flag the site A as HUB.
Site toplogy is correct and the cost too.

Two warehouse numbers in one plant

Is it possible to have two warehouse numbers in one plant and how do i get this to work?Can the same users work in first and second warehouse?What are the things that i need to define searately in second warehouse number?What is the difference if i still have one warehouse number and split two warehouses in 2 different warehouse numbers?

Sure, you just need to create another WhNum and assign it to the SLoc(s).
Can the same users work in first and second warehouse?
Yes, but you will be required to change their WM profile in LRFMD to make it work.

Not sure I understand the question correctly. You need to have all the WM settings for this warehouse number separate, although some values might be the same (print program, storage types, movement type config, etc.) but they need to be specified for the key of your new WhNum.

There are many differences... You will be able to make the movement types config different which is important if your process requirements are different.
You will have two warehouse monitors RF monitors (LRF1/LRF2 t-code).
You will be able to specify different internal SU number if you are using storage units.
You will be able to have the same storage types in different WhNUms, e.g. you can have 001 in WH1 and 001 in WH2 too without conflict.
Have different print programs, settings in mobile data entry etc.
Well, there are many other differences. It would be good if you could specify which operations / processes are of interest so we could elaborate about the specific differences you are interested in.

One Plant Assigned to two companies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In enterprise structure assignment I can assign one plant to two different companies ........ I was under impression that one plant can only be assigned to one company as this is my valuation level ( I have set my valuation level as Plant ) ....
Now I couldn't understand the business logic for giving me provision to assign one plant to different company codes.

I am sorry the system will not even allow you to save it in OX18. If it will go out of the spro and come back the plant will not be there as It will not allow to comitt the transaction.
There is no scenario in which one plant can be assigned to two company codes. This is the fundamental basement of all enterprise structure in MM and will not be possible.

How can i have a FI document in one plant accross two Profit Center

when the materials transfer between different storage location in one plant can bring a FI document, i thought maybe the profit center account may be solve this problem(the transfer price ),but i still didn't see the FI document.could you tell me how to have a FI documnet when a transfer material between different storage location in one plant which have two profit center.

Two web sites from one computer to .mac

I'm trying to publish two web sites on .mac. I have two accounts, so that's not a problem. The problem is trying to get the original files and copies of both web sites to another user on my iMac. I can't locate my files. I've gone to the users/library//application support/iweb, but my files aren't there at all? iWeb works just fine, I just can't locate them. If I find them how would I get them to another user, so that I can publish the second web site to .mac. I know I have to log into another account on the same machine. I get the grasp of it all, I just can't do it. Thanks anyone.

If you can launch a site in iWeb by opening the application, then you must have a domain file in Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
Are you sure you are looking in the library in your Home Folder and not the System Library?
When you find the file you can copy it to the shared folder but make sure you give the other user read & write permission.
You don't need to have two .Mac accounts or a second user account to have multiple sites.
You can have each website on a separate domain file or use the freeware application iWebsites to manage them.

Work centres for employee of more than one plant

Hello experts
I have a question regarding work centres. Our department is managing a pool of workers which consist of employee from more than one plant. Somebody had made experience concerning this issue?
Furthermore we have to manage external workers as capacity. How can I build up this in SAP?

Blocking of material in one plant only , in material master

Dear SD Gurus
We have 2 manufacturing Plants . We have sometimes limited availability of material in one plant & the same is available in abundance in other plant
We want to stop the sale order punching for this material in first plant , but to allow the sale order punching in the second plant
In Material Master , in sale org-1 view , we can block the material only as per Sales Org / Channel & not as per plant
Now if we block the material in this way , order punching will be stopped in both the plants
Is there any way out to meet our purpose

Hi,
You can use the fields available in sales org /general plant view .
For Ex: Use material group 1 and have two option block/ Un block and maintain the same in the material master.
Now when you create a sales order with the same material and the first plant ( as per your scenario) the material group 1 will be copied in the sales order . With th ehelp of abaper put a validation that if the material group 1 for that material in the first plant is maintained as block through anerror message and wont allow system to create a sales order.

Settings for Depot as well as Mfg in one plant

I have one requirement the present we have one company code and one plant assign to it, the all setting and CIN configuration are as per manufacturing plant, we capture the excise inovice in J1IEX or MIGO then production cycle ,make the excise invoice then excise utilization now our requirement is along with mfg. we also want to do trading in the same plant so it possible is there any configuration guide for this or any link to map this process one setting is there that for the plant we can have 2 series group and for one series group we can set as depot, but how the other activity will get perform if same material if we use in manufacturing and if same material is sale as trading material, as the excise capture and pass on or utilization is different for both.

Delivery from one plant taking order of another plant

Hi,
Please share your view that how it is possible to delivery from one plant taking the order from another plant where production is made in later plant and material is moved by STo to the first plant for despatch.
     So stock is ready in first plant but since the order is of second plant , if we bypass the first phase check in shipping point while create delivery by VLO1N , inside the document the second plant is determined. is there any way around?

   There is no problem about STO. Problem is that we have to issue the sale order in manufacturing plant and with respect to the same order we have to make the delivery by VL01N from another plant. So MRP will run in manufacturinf plant. Stock will built up in manufacturing plant, then it will be transferred to another plant and from there the same material is to be despatched where the delivering plant in sale order is the manufacturing plant.
    SAP does not allow to do it as the delivering plnat specified in the order is different from thye plant from where it is to be despatched.
   We have thought also to create customized routine for it where we may bypass the check of shipping point in copy control as well as the population of the plant which is to be filled up manually by user in delivery document.
   Is there any other alternative . please explore.

Finished product in one plant and finished product in another plant

Hi ,
In one plant client is manufacturing a finished and he is selling from the same plant and this product he is doing stock transport (sto) to another plant where he is using it as semifinished in the assembly.
Ex.Bike handle is manufacturing in one plant and selling it from the same plant to the customer.Here this product is a finished good.Where as same material is used as during the assembly of Bike in other plant where this product is used as semifinished.
Please guide how to make the same material code as finished in one plant and as semifinished in other plant.

As per my knowldge, it is not possible to maintain same material code in this scenario.
All you can do is to make 2 matrial codes for finished and semifinshed material and at the time of STO betweem the plants, Do material to material transfer (movement type 309) either before issuing for STO from plant 1 or after receiving in plant 2.
Will explain the steps:
Material code M0001- finished good (handle) in plant A.
Material code M0002- Semifinished goods (handle) to be maintained in plant A and plant B.
STO (material code M0002) for stock to be transferred from Pant A to Plant B.
Material to material transfer (M0001 to M0002)in plant A using movement type 309.
GI (Material M0002) from Plant A against STO.
GR (Material M0002) at Plant B.

If you just do the obvious and use File > New Site in iWeb, you do create two distinct sites with different urls. However, you cannot exactly duplicate page names in the sites or publish changes in one without publishing changes in the other. The short default url web.mac.com/username/iWeb normally goes to the top site on the list within iWeb.
If you create two sites with distinct names in different accounts on your machine, they should not overwrite each other, and they should also have distinct urls. However I think that the
index.html file which tells browsers what to do with the default short url web.mac.com/username/iWeb may get confused, so that deleting that or modifying it manually might be desirable.

Issue Printing One or Two Checks on HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw

I just purchased an HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw which replaces an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn.
I've run into an issue printing checkes from Quicken when I print less than a full sheet (one or two) checks.
With my old printer, I used the manual feed for a partial sheet.
Since the new printer does not have a manual feed, I have to put the partial sheet in the paper tray.
It seems one of two things happen:
1) Sometimes the printer will print the partial page but then displays an error message which says something like "Unexpected paper size, load letter."
It then re-prints the partial page on the next sheet of paper.
2) Othertimes, it prints the partial page without the error message, but then feeds the next sheet of paper throught the printer.
In either case the next page contains the next three checks, so it's either wasting checks or printing on the wrong check numbers.
Any suggestions on how to avoid these issues would be appreciated.

I've been using an alternate printer for printing the checks, but I'd rather get rid of the old one. (The HP Laser Pro 200 takes up a lot of space!)

Stock transfer between plants two steps 303-305

Dear All,
We are using version SAP 4.7 we are using stock transfer scenarion between plants two steps. 303-305 source plant they will remove the stock with 303 movement in the receiving plant they will receive the goods against the 303 document number.
at the time with 305 movement type one document generated in that document table MKPF 303 reference number should be updated but in the 305 document the reference document 303 not updated in table MKPF.
why?...any updations required. because i want to develop an user exit at the time of Goods receipt with 305 movement in the receiving plant now it is allowing posting date as <= 303 document posting date it should be allow only >=303 document posting date at the time of 305 document generation in the receiving plant.
in MKPF table the reference document is not updating ....any ideas....
im using the standard Enhancement :MBCF0002
