Dual monitoring from Macbook pro to Fujitsu laptop

hi i would like to use an old laptop as a dual monitor for my macbook pro. i have onhand a VGA adaptor that I bought recently. I have tried connecting macbook to a monitor and it worked just fine. but with the laptop, it couldn't work.
i tried connecting my macbook to the fujitsu laptop. but i wasnt able to extend the desktop to the fujitsu laptop.
i want to use my macbook as the primary screen for me to work on, but i place other reports on the other laptop.
can anybody help?
thanks in advance

I do this kind of thing quite a bit, and it all depends on what kind of storage options that are available.
1. I have several pen drives, a few 16gb in storage, that I use to transfer data from one computer to another. If you have 26gb of music, the transfer should't be too long.
2. I also own a few Seagate portable drives, which are great for transferring data. It's also fairly fast. I use a USB to USB2 cable to do the transfer; my cable came with the drive.
One easy way to figure out which cable you need would be to visit your Apple Store; they should be able to tell which cable to purchase.

  • Dual monitors on MacBook Pro 15' Mid-2012

I have two Apple HD Cinema Displays (23-inch DVI 2005 model) and I want to connect both them to my MacBook Pro 15' using the MiniDisplayport without any lag. I know my mac only supports up to one monitor and I am currently using a USB to DVI to connect the second monitor to make it an extended desktop. I use my mac in boh clamshell and normal mode and the monitor using the USB to DVI is really laggy. I can't watch YouTube videos or do anything graphic intensive without having my second monitor lag. Is there any solution other than the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Edition that would allow me to connect both my monitors without any lag or issue with graphics.
Note: both my monitors are the older aluminum anti-glare displays, NOT the thunderbolt capable ones.
I'm currently connecting through a MiniDisplay Port to DVI to the first monitor and then a USB to DVI to the second. I am thinking there isn't enough power going to the USB to DVI monitor which makes it lag.
If you have any suggestions or even a possible work around, please let me know

I was expecting an improvement in sound over my 2009 13'' mbp's speakers after buying a new 15'' non retina mbp, but sadly that isn't the case. These are terrible, at best, and i'm wondering if maybe there's a problem if these do actually contain a subwoofer as i'm hearing very little else but treble. It does sound slightly better using bass boost in iTunes' settings, but only marginally.
I usually use a pair of decent headphones for serious listening and I do lots of it being a DJ, but it's nice to take a break during long spells of headphone use and rely on just the internal speakers for preliminary judgement calls when looking for new music.
It's suprising really that my 9 or 10 year old 13'' HP laptop sounded better than my 13'' mbp and now this 15'' model sounds worse than my 13'' mbp. This is pretty much the laptop of choice for DJ's who need lots of storage, but sadly it's headphones only, or external speakers for any listening purposes.

  • Dual Monitors w/ Macbook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro and would like to setup Dual Monitors.  I have done a lot of research and really need an answer for this.  I understand there are numerous ways to setup two external monitors, but I am looking for the solution that allows the computer to recognize both monitors as separate monitors.  I am connecting to a 42" Panasonic Viera and a 23" Samsung SyncMaster.  The TV is HDMI and the Samsung is DVI.  I have looked at the Matrox Dualhead2go and cannot find if it is able to send separate signals, instead of turning both monitors into one huge monitor.  Are there any solutions that anyone knows of?  I know I can use a USB video card, but they are graphically inferior and that is not acceptable for my line of work (music production, sound design, film mixing).  Any ideas?

Yu can use a Magma ExpressBox
    <http://www.magma.com/products/pciexpress/expressbox1/index.html>
with a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT

Another option is a Matrox Graphics eXpansion Module
    <http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/corpo/products/home.php>
    They have resolution limits, though.

  • Dual Monitors with MacBook Pro fails using the battery

    Hi guys
I am sorry I am new with Apple and need a help from you guys. I have a MacBook Pro (retina) and connected two monitors to it, using Thunderbolt plugs.
It works fine when I close the lid and one monitor gets the Apple OS and the other I run Windows (VMWare). The problem starts when I remove the power
from it and run using the battery. Monitors got blank display and I have to plug the power back to the MAC, in order to get the OS back. I've tried any combination on the System Preferences/Display and Energy Saver. No go!
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

I had the same issue a few months ago when I tried connecting to external monitor, it is only possible to run external displays from a Macbook Pro while the power cable is attached, if you try and connect to external display without having the charger attached the external display will flash your desk top for a second and then your Macbook Pro will go to sleep.  Hence connect your charger every time you wish to connect to external display, its not a problem with your Macbook Pro, it's just the way of Apple. Hope that helps.

  • Output / Multiple Monitor from MacBook Pro

I have a question. I am working with live video production and we want to have our presentation (similar to PowerPoint but a professional live presentation software) sent to two different monitors. The monitor is being sent via thunderbolt then via HDMI out to a projector, but here is the difficulty, we also want to send the same image to a second MacBook Pro which is running our live video switching software, so that we can mix our original presentation into the live video stream when necessary. Does anyone have an idea how we can get the presentation from the first computer onto the second computer? It should be the full-screen image exactly matching that from the projector. One more comment, I am not sure if a simple HDMI splitter will work because maybe the second MacBook Pro won't recognize the input as a monitor. Thanks so much.

Activate Screen Sharing on the computer that's giving the presentation and connect to it from the other computer. You will have to use the projector in mirror mode. The presentation software should be running in full-screen mode.

  • Using an HDMI cable to connect to a monitor from Macbook Pro, but no sound

What do you mean by "properly setup?" There is no setup. Just plug it in.

  • Calibrating external monitor from macbook pro

    Hello,
I just bought a new Samsung t240 24" display for a late 08 macbook pro.
Its connected from mini display to dvi.
However the colors look really different from what they look on my macbook pro display.
The samsung looks very sharp and bright, however there is a slight blueish cast, in contrast from the mbp display, which looks rather warmer.
I already tried calibrating with the built in mac osx calibration, but it gives me the same result.
Maybe somebody here has a calibrated profile for the t240 or a similar one I can try?
Thanks and really appreciate any help.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to let people know there is another way of solving this problem without resorting to buying a DVI adapter:
I've posted a solution here to a similar problem, it has worked for me and for others.

  • Has anyone successfully added dual monitors to Macbook pro. Using cirago NuView HDMI?

The NuView X2 looks to be trying to boot up but just keeps recycling.

AFAIK, the Matrox is the only good solution out there... do you have the 13" non-retina 2012 model? It should work. Read the MacWorld review at the link provided on the Matrox page.

  • Dual monitors with macbook closed

i am running dual monitors with Macbook Pro and would like for my Macbook to be closed.  How do I change that setting?

How do I change that to two separate extended screens.
I don't believe you can. Check with Matrox, but my understanding is that the external monitors running through the Matrox box will always function as a single extended desktop in two parts.
If you do check with Matrox about this, please post back with your findings — I'll be interested to know, whether I'm right or not.

  • HT3964 connected new external monitor to macbook pro, was working but now have no power, black screen in laptop. monitor purchased with advice from tech and set up also. Worked fine for an hour and then quit

Have just connected a viewsonic external monitor to macbook pro 10.6.8, had everything up and running fine for about an hour then the macbook quit. No power (ws running off power source) Have I killed my macbook? Help!

    Aha, all is good.
    I went to Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays
    and to home/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays
and deleted all SyncMaster.icc files. I did leave behind one SyncMaster file in the home/../Displays which had an old date and I new was ok.
Rebooted, plugged in SyncMaster, and a new icc file was automatically created in the /Library/../Displays folder.
    My display works normally, now.

Migrating info from old Macbook Pro to new Macbook Pro and original laptop loses charge midway thru.  After charging again how do I get things going, do I start from the beginning?

Agreed. Don't even think about starting a long, disc-intensive process like that without both machines powered by AC.

  • Need help connecting Dell U2713HM monitor to MacBook Pro

What is the best way to connect a Dell U2713HM monitor to MacBook Pro OS 10.7.5 to maximize the resolution 2560 x 1440? I was using a VGA adapter on my old Viewsonic monitor that hooked into the Thunderbolt port, I think. When I use my old adapter with the new Dell monitor, it stops my Mac from responding and the monitor says it has no DVI connection. When I unplug the adapter from my Mac, it starts working again.  I'm not very good with all these port options and descriptions so talk real slow, please.

  • Does it worth to move from macbook pro to macbook pro retina?

    Hey
    I have macbook pro with
Processor  2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB
and its good but many people are saying macbook pro 2013 with retina display is the best laptop and has many features so do you advice me to move from macbook pro to macbook pro 2013 with retina display?
    thanka

It's a very sweet machine, of course. Although the upgrade path is a bit dicey. Just my opinion, but unless you have very demanding graphics needs (in which case you probably should have a desktop system with a huge monitor), I don't see the point of spending all the money. Probably you would get more value if you take your current machine and max out the RAM and get an SSD.
It's hard to advise anyone in such matters via the internet.
