Dual Realtek Network Adapter Teaming

I have searched high and low and can't find anything on how to make the 2 network adapters on the Eclipse SLI board work together as one connection. Some other brands of motherboards have a "teaming utility" that makes it work. Does this happen automatically on the Eclipse SLI X58 board or is there a utility I missed somewhere?
Thanks,
Mike.

You need "Realtek Teaming Utility V1.00.0000" which for some apparant reason, isn't available on the Realtek site. However, you can download it from Softpedia's site.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-3043ee Realtek Network Adapter not found in Device Manager

Hi I own an HP Pavilion dv6-3043ee, 64bit and running Windows 7. And somehow the network adapter for the LAN got uninstalled for some reason. Now after posting something on the site I finally downloaded the driver for my laptop.
Now another problem, after or at the end of the installation process a pop up message was shown:
"The Realtek Network Controller was not found,
If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."
Now I checked Device Manager to see if the Realtek Network Adapter was there but it wasn't. All I can see are:
    -Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n Wifi Adapter
    -Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
    -Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocl TDI)
    -TAP-Windows Adapter V9
    Someone please help. Thank you.

If device is identified but there is no driver for it, it will be appeared as unknown device in Device Manager with question mark icon (?), are you seeing such thing in device manager?
If not, you should refer to your PC manufacturer's website and download.

  • P965 PLATINUM / REALTEK network adapter connectivity problem

    hi,
I cannot connect my PC with my laptop using a crossover ethernet cable. All of the crossover cables I have tested operate as expected when used to connect other computers. A fact that complicates things more is that the connection status is indicated as "connected" in the network connections window but no packets are received at all.
    My configuration:
MSI P965 PLATINUM (flashed with v1.2 BIOS)
    OS: Windows XP PRO SP2
    REALTEK driver version: 5.654.721.2006
Network IP, mask and gateway are manually assigned.
Note1: The network adapter works totally fine when connected with my router using a straight UTP cable.
Note2: My brother's PC (which has exactly the same configuration as mine) has the same problem.
    Thanks in advance

Thank you all for your tips.
Please note that network file sharing is enabled. If I use my ADSL router as a gateway (it is 192.168.1.1 as you can see in the ipconfig commands output) the computers do communicate.
Problems arise when I use a crossover or straight cable to connect directly my desktop and laptop. Some things I have tried:
    - I have disabled the firewalls on all computers.
    - If I ping the localhost (127.0.0.1) I get packet replies. However, when I ping the other host I get timeouts.
    - I have set the connection speed manually from the device manager to 100mbit/full. Still no good..  :(

Is there any utility to check my network adapters? It is a VERY weird situation, because on both adapters the green light is constantly ON, and the orange flashes from time to time. I assume this means that on hardware level everything is fine. Moreover, I cannot believe that there is a firewall/AV that interferes, because even if I shut them down, I still can't ping the other host.

  • Virtual Network Adapter (vEthernet) unauthenticated

    Hi,
I have a problem, with configuring a Virtual Network Adapter on SC VMM.
I created a logical switch with two physical network adapter (team) and add a virtual network adapter to the logical switch. After that a virtual network adapter will be created on the hyper-v host, but with the status "domain.local (unauthenticated).
With another hyper-v host it work without problems.
I tried to remove and recreate all that stuff but without success.
Do someone know that problem? Or can help to find a solution?
    Thank you for the help.

    Hi Sir,
I searched for this issue but it seems  none fits your case :

Did you try to manually configure teaming on that hyper-v host , still same result ?

  • Using a Third Party Network Adapter

I would like to use a third-party network adapter instead of the Realtek network adapter built in to my L955-S5370. Are there any changes I need to make to the laptop before I connect the third-party network adapter? I thought I might want to disable the Realtek adapter in Device Manager.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Found my answer:
Before adding a third-party wireless network adapter to a laptop that has a built-in wireless network adapter, you need to disable the laptop's built-in wireless network adapter. There are two ways to do this:
From the Network and Sharing Center. These instructions from Microsoft were initially written for Windows Vista, but they work the same way for Windows 7 and Windows 8: Enable or disable a network adapter.
From Device Manager. You don't have to be a 'dummy' to follow these instructions: How to Disable the Original WiFi adapter.
If the laptop's wireless network adapter is re-enabled every time you reboot, you may need to disable the WLAN AutoConfig service, as follows:
Go to Administrative Tools > Services
If the WLAN AutoConfig service is enabled, Stop and then Disable that service.
The laptops's wireless network adapter is now permanently disabled.

  • Cannot create new virtual network adapter on logical switch team

I am currently moving from Hyper-V 2012 to Hyper-V 2012 R2 and in turn I have just installed SCVMM 2012 R2. I am using SCVMM 2012 R2 to create some NIC teams which I have done no problem in the past with SCVMM 2012 SP1. Now we have everything set up just
like we did in the past and it seems to create the NIC team just fine. The problem is when I try to create a New Virtual Network Adapter, when I click the button, it immediately says:
VMM cannot create the virtual network adapter. Either there are no VM networks associated with the network sites that the uplink port profile "Logical Network Name" Connects to, or the VM networks associated with those network sites all use Hyper-V
    network virtualization.
Now I've checked and the VM Network is assigned to the logical network that is associated with the Network Site that contains the host I'm working with. I've also tried disabling Hyper-V network virtualization but that didn't change anything and I thought
that it's always enabled on 2012 R2 anyway.
I would like to gain network connectivity to this team at least for testing purposes and we also are planning on building a Hyper-V cluster. Were some new restrictions added in 2012 R2 to prevent creating virtual network adapters in this scenario or am I
    doing something wrong?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your time!

  • Upgrading My Network Adapter

    Good afternoon!
HP G72-250US Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
I have currently installed a Realtek RTL8191SE Network Adapter.  I would like to upgrade it to the Realtek RTL8192E so I can use my new dual band wireless router (Netgear WNDR3700).
Can I upgrade the network adapter on this laptop?

Hello mightyeskimo01.  I understand you want to upgrade your wireless card.
Unfortunately only certain cards will work in any given notebook.  Your best bet is to stick with one listed in your notebook's Maintenance and Service Guide.  Any card not listed there is highly unlikely to work.
I hope this helps.  Have a great day!

  • Realtek 8111D adapter can no longer connect at gigabit speed to WRT610N after firmware upgrade

Ever since I flashed to the newest firmware,  the Realtek 8111D adapter on my Gigabyte X58 Motherboard can no longer connect at 1 gig to the router.   There is a connection detected in the OS but I wasn't able to get into the config at 192.168.1.1 or use the internet.  Finally, after two days of messing around, I got things to work again by limiting the network adapter to 100 MBPs.  Is this most likely a bug with the firmware or is it something else?  Is there any way to flash back to the original firmware?

Its not the problem with the Firmware. When you update the firmware on your router, you need to Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...After this try to see if your computer is working on 1gig speed.

    thank u
    alex

    Hi Alex,
If you are using a standard virtual switch in SCVMM, then you should only need to add the multiplexor adapter to the virtual switch, do not add the physical adapters.
If you are using a logical switch then since VMM will create the team, its important that you do not team the two physical adapters in advance, instead you just add the two unteamed physical adapters directly to the logical switch and VMM will team
them automatically according to the settings specified in the port profile.
For the above to work you need to make sure the logical switch (in my case "Datacenter Switch") has the uplink mode set to "Team".  The uplink port profile will also need to contain the desired teaming mode and load balancing algorithm.

  • Windows 7 x64 Network Adapter Stops working on high load

My Network has been failing and it has been happening for about a month or so on Windows 7 x64.  I dont think that the system configuration is the problem as it is happening on 2 seperate machines.  One being a relatively beefed up "white" box, 4 gig OCZ ram, EVGA nForce 790I SLI Mobo, Q9600 Quad core processor, dual raid 1 - 150 Gig Raptors, 2 8800GTX SLI cards, Pure Power 800W PS.  The second machine is an IBM Netbook S10.  I use the Netbook as a media center connected to a Pioneer Elite 1050HD.  One thing is I have a PS3 and have several 1TB Esata drives connected to an IOGear 3132 Esata 3.0Gb pciX card to my desktop.
    My typical usages:
    1. FTP from a private server
    2. Streaming music via Winamp
    3. Streaming video 720, 1080 from pc to PS3 via the PS3 Media Server
    4. DLing demos or movies on the PS3
    5. Network streaming a movie from the Esata drives to the bedroom or kids rooms
    6. Streaming video from abc.com or southparkstudios.com from the Cox cable modem
    7. RDC over VPN to work machines
Now I have noticed that when I am streaming HEAVILY, from any 2 of the above mentioned, my network connections will simply stop working with a yellow exclamation mark on the task bar network icon after a few moments, nothing in the event logs, no logs or ANYTHING at all.  It will simply stop working no notifications or anything poof, gone.  I have EVERY single patch, driver anything I can think of installed.  Nothing works, the timing is completely random.  FYI I have a NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall FVX538 with a cable modem connection on WAN 1 and a cellular connection on WAN2, these have no impact I feel on the connections because the PC may go down or the Netbook will go down depending on which one has the most load.  So this simply tells me that it it not a firewall router problem as I have tried using a cisco unmanaged 24 port 1GB switch and I get the same problems.  From analyzing the systems and layout I am led to believe that it is either a network adapter driver OR a Windows 7 problem (collisions, unhandled exception?), this NEVER happened with XP or Vista.  I have tried everything but a new network adapter, I have tried the secondary adapter card on the mobo, I have tried bridging the two, I have tried daisy chaining the switch and putting each machine on its own dedicated switch linked to each other with no change.  When the network goes down it is only that box effected, all other machines still connect to each other fine, only the one with load shuts down and the only ones that shut down are Windows 7.  These machines are all wired with commercial cat5e patch cables, they have all been swapped for new ones lately.  All networking and PC equipment are on UPS so I doubt voltage variations.  Windows Firewall is disabled I only use the hardware firewall, I do not use any antivirus.
I am completely out of options, can anyone recommend a new route?
In addition when I go to the command prompt and attempt to do an ipconfig /release.  I get an error saying that the adapter is not in a usable state.  Very irritating, this forces me to reboot, or right click disable/enable on the network adapter.  The right click route takes almost a minute to complete.
Tried update driver in nvidia control panel, no luck.  I have also turned off the networking power saver option in the adapter settings.

    Hi,
Considering this issue occurs on 2 different machines, I also think this issue may be more hardware related. You may also try the following:
    1.    If the computers are connecting to a router, please ensure the router’s firmware is up-to-date.
    2.    Please run the following command in an elevated command prompt in Windows 7:
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled
    3.    Disable SNP in Windows 7 by setting Registry as following:
Note: Please perform a full-system backup first.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
    EnableTCPChimney=dword:00000000
    EnableTCPA=dword:00000000
    EnableRSS=dword:00000000
If the keys do not exist, please create them and assign the value.
An update to turn off default SNP features is available for Windows Server 2003-based and Small Business Server 2003-based computers
    4.    If the issue persists, please add another network adapter to this computer and see how it works.
    Hope this helps. Thanks.

Hi, I'm experiencing a simular problem here.
My PC was using Asus P5Q-E motherboard but exchanged it for Asus P5Q TURBO Pro because it loses 'connectivity ' after an interval between a few hrs to 26hrs. During this state, I can't browse or my Outlook to check emails. The only thing that can send/receive data is Vuze. Plus, the strange thing is that the network icon says there's nothing wrong at all (when it obviously there is). Even the currency desktop gadgets says the time elapsed since it 'lost connectivity '.
I initially thought P5Q-E was faulty so now I'm using the TURBO Pro. However, the problem still persisted.
I am using Win 7 Ultimate x64 with all the updates and drivers. Connected via LAN cable to the router and the firmware is the latest. My ISP sent me a replacement router to confirm that their equipment is not faulty, which is true.
I have tried the above methods 1-3.
Although I'm not sure if I implemented Method 3 correctly since I don't usually go to the registry but here's what it looks like after creating it:
    EnableRSS   REG_DWORD   0x00000001 (1)
    EnableTCPA   REG_DWORD   0x00000001 (1)
    EnableTCPChimey   REG_DWORD   0x00000001 (1)
There are 3 more PC's and 1 laptop in the house. 2 PCs use Win XP, 1 uses Win 7 Ultimate x64 and laptop uses Linux Ubuntu.
My PC has a second OS, Linux Ubuntu, I used it to time trial both motherboards (before and after switching) and found no problems at all even after 48hrs, so it confirms it's not a hardware issue.
The other PC's apart from mine are connected wirelessly. As far as I've been told, they don't experience the same issue I have.
I've been trying to tackle this problem for months now and I'm frustrated to reboot my PC every time it 'loses connection '.
I chatted with Asus about the issue when I still had the P5Q-E mobo, they said that they built a simular system to mine with the same mobo and said they couldn't reproduce the problem I'm having. THey even tested on other mobos with the same LAN chip and found nothing wrong. That's why I got the TURBO Pro that has a different LAN chip.
    Anyone got anymore suggestions???
    Thanks in advance.

  • Network adapter not working

    Hi,
This has been quite a confusing few days with this network adapter. It's a Realtek 8139C based card, but for some reason Arch refuses to get it to work with either 8139cp or 8139too modules.
Both have been added to rc.conf modules list (independently and together) & I've tried blacklisting one then the other but eth0 still doesn't show up in ifconfig.  Even with 8139cp blacklisted, at boot I still get a message about that module telling me to try 8139too instead.  I also get a message saying: "PCI: Unable to reserve I/O region #1:100@de00" and that something fails with error -16.
So far, the only way I've managed to get the card working is during install and getting the setup program to probe for a driver and setup dhcp itself, which to my mind shows that the card is fine, as I managed to download the entire base package with it.  If I could find out what the setup program does to get it working, it might help too.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Please forgive how vague this post is, I don't have the machine in front of me right this instant.

I did some research and found that the drivers for Linux are in the Realtek site (very hidden though ) at this URL
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow … Down=false
    Hope this helps.

while running thig pgm, you should pass the driver URL..

  • CSM problem with Adapter Teaming

    Hi,
A CSM has been configured with a TCL scripted keepalive to retrieve a dynamic page from each server in the serverfarm. The script reads the data returned by the server and detects a specific string in the page.
The servers are dual-attached with two Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit adatpers, configured with BASP Teaming (Smart load balancing with failover). This mode of operation allows outbound and inbound load balancing. Each adapter has its own MAC address.
    Symptom :
We observe that the servers status swing between OPERATIONAL and PROBE_FAILED at random intervals. We suspect that the problem comes from the adapter teaming mode of operation. We see the CSM ARP table swinging between the two adapter MAC addresses for a specific IP address. I conclude that the CSM updates its ARP table for unicast packets as well.
When the ARP table points to the primary interface, the server status is OPERATIONAL, when the CSM ARP table points to the second adapter, the server status go to PROBE_FAILED.
Is is a know issue ? Is the CSM incompatble with adapter teaming ? We also have CSS devices probing the same servers at the same time, but without problems
    Thank you for any advice
    Yves Haemmerli

It is not a CSM trouble but more a teaming trouble.
If you connect trought the console management instead of telnet you may see message like this one:
xdxh: %CSM_SLB-6-RSERVERSTATE: Module x server state changed: SLB-NETMGT: Got different MAC address from server x.x.x.x in response to ARP
If you have that kind of message it meens that the server is using both interfaces for the same IP address.
If it is the case you should have a look to your teaming configuration.

  • How to change LACPDU timer setting on Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver

We’re installing our first Windows 2012 R2 server, and one of the network settings is different from what’s on a comparable Windows 2008 R2 server, and it's not what our network group would like to see connected to their switches.  Both servers have
2 NICs teamed using the LACP protocol and are connected to 2 different switches for high availability.  In both cases I just teamed the NICs with whatever driver was on the server.
On the 2008 R2 server (the one our network group likes), it’s an Intel driver, “Intel(R) Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter”.  On the 2012 R2 server it’s a Microsoft driver, “Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver”.  The setting that
our network group is concerned about is the LACPDU timer setting.  Apparently it can be either “fast” or “slow”.  What they see on the switches is that on the 2008 Intel driver NICs the setting is “slow” and on the 2012 Microsoft driver NICs the
setting is “fast”.  The switches are expecting “slow”.
I spent some time searching on Microsoft.com and other places, as well as poking around on the server, but I couldn’t find that setting or how to change it on the Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver.  Does anyone know how I can change it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
According to my knowledge, we can’t change the value of LACP timer.
    Here is a related question,
How to change LACP timer-value on Windows server 2012 Network Teaming, from short to long?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/05e2761f-e165-44f6-9bed-d91e9eeba687/how-to-change-lacp-timervalue-on-on-windows-server-2012-network-teaming-from-short-to-long
    Hope this helps.
