Dualphone 3088

Hi, I have a skype account and was using my iphone over wifi to make calls from my offices because my mobile signal is bad.
Now I have bought a dualphone 3088. This was initially great, the call quality was better than using my iphone and because i have a dedicated line into my office i get a better service.
After I completed a survey to say that i was happy with the service all of a sudden its now gone back to how it use to be. Poor call quality, disconnecting, not picking up calls.
Is there an inherent problem with my equipment? or did skype conveniently increase bandwidth to offer better performance to customers before issuing a general survey?
Forgive my scepticism.

You can try resetting the phone to factory.  Try to re-login with your account and see if anything changes.  It may just be a firmware related issue and the method in which it retrieved credit information, is no longer compatible.  People have hard more stable success in the past in general with release 245, so you could try to downgrade to that release or another one and see if anything changes.

    We’ve bought DUALphone 3088 some days ago. We planned to use it in our virtual dial exchange (we have a virtual phone number that can be forwarded to landline phones, mobiles and SKYPE also).
    The main thing is that this device must be used as main phone in our office (in Skype mode only). So when somebody of us receives call he must be able to redirect it to another employee using extension number (like ##5 in tone mode). And we were disappointed that we can’t do that! We can’t dial extension numbers when WE RECEIVE skype call. Skype on PC allows to do that. But not this device.
    Nevertheless we CAN dial extension numbers when WE MAKE skype call using this device.
    So this is firmware error…
    Can anybody tell how ask the producer to make an update and fix this problem?

    I am a wireless network operator, with a lot of skype customers.. Oddly those using PC's are unaffected, but myself and a few others using dualphones cannot connect.
    As network manager I am able to prioritise skype, inspect packets etc and Nat across to any number of public IP's.
    I can confirm that its not this network at fault nor any of my public IP's.

    I have a DUALphone 3088‏ and it can't connect to the skype network.
    I have used the phone as per normal and now this morning 2012-03-11 (10:00 UTC+1)
    it was not connected in someway, it seems that the telephone is trying to log in to the Skype network.
    Peculiarly I can see everyone on my Dualphone 3088 "that are connected to Skype through their computers", but the Dualphone users are not visible.
    I can call mobilephones and landphones with the Skype Credit.
    I'm able to use skype through my mobile and through the computer.
    My network is working fine and I can send you this mail.
    I have several familymembers that have the same problem with their DUALphone 3088.
    So, there should not be any problem on the Client side!

    Hi there everyone.
    The Dualphone 3088 is connected to the DP User list since yesterday afternoon.
    I have Just vaited for some 16 to 20 hours to see if the connection is stable and running.
    It seems that Skype and Co has toggled/synced in the users list in the DP 3088.
    Ill keep this thread still open for a week or so to other DP users just to get a record of how many that has got this problem.

  • Dualphone 3088.1 Handset and Receiver 3088.2

    Dear All,
    I just bought an extra handset model 3088 to replace to current one that I have.
    I bought it trough Amazon, sold by Chat and Vision, and received it ok.
    When I tried to register, it never registered, and then after some googling I found out that there's not only one model of 3088, but several ones like 3088.1, 3088.2...
    So... my base station is 3088.2 and the extra handset that I bought I found out that is a 3088.1... It seems that they don't communicate with each other.
    The problem, is that that Company and Amazon didn't say nothing about models in anywhere of product description or any warnings to consumers... and now I have an extra headset that I can't register.
    Would like to have your technical support about this situation, and your suggestions.

    I would think that since they carry the same model number the version number should not have any affect on a successful registration of the handset.  As far as I can tell there is not much that has to be done to register a handset, so if it does not work, then the handset may be defective.
    The obvious:
    Make sure the base station is on and the reset button has been pressed putting it in a mode ready to register handsets.
    The key things I would try if it fails:
    1.  The battery from on the other working handsets, in case there is an issue with the one you received.
    2.  Deregistering all the other phones, and try to re-register that singular phone.
    3.  Resetting the base station and inserting the new phone into the cradle to register it.

  • Dualphone 3088 not signing in to skype

    I have been using a dualphone for 3 years, and not had any problems, but suddenly it is not able to sign in to Skype.  I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions, but nothing works.  I phone abroad a lot, and would really like this fixed.  Has anyone got any ideas?
    I have unplugged everything, and reset the whole lot.  I have the updated firmware, and the IP address is recognised.

    I have recently faced exactly the same problem. My phone had Firmware version 250 and I used the advanced settings menu on the phone to install the older version (245) of the firmware and now it is signing in perfectly again. I intend to reinstall version 250 to see if the problem returns but I have not done this as yet. 

  • Dualphone 3088 and number of rings before voicemai...

    It seems this was posted on the old forums but never resolved.  I (and apparently many others.) are trying to figure out how to adjust the amount of rings before voicemail picks up on our Dualphones.   In my case, it is somewhat erratic.   Sometimes it rings 3 times, others not at all and it goes straight to VM.   I've sent a message to Dualphone support and am still awaiting their reply after a few days.   I've completly reset the basestation/handsets.  I'm using a dedicated static IP with a decent (15/2) internet connection.  
    We have been trying this out as our "home" phone and it's pretty disappointing.   Logging in to the account on the computer and changing the settings there has absolutly no effect on the dualphones.

    I am having the same problem. Tried all the reset and bs settings change suggested by chatandvision and still no luck. Until they come with a new firmwire, we are stuck.

  • RTX Dualphone 3088 - no longer rings for incoming ...

    I have followed the manufacturer's advice, reset, rebooted, turned call forwarding off (don't know why they suggest this) but to no avail - my two RTX Dualphones won't ring for incoming calls.
    However they do seem to place calls fine.
    All the ring tone setting seem to be on and the volume set to max.
    Any advice? Is there a hidden mute button? Or another work around.

    I have had three of theses phones and the ringing tone on all three has failed after about eighteen months. I was about to buy a fourth phone when I decided that enough was enough and tried a home repair. I ripped a speaker out of a redundant mobile telephone and fitted into the RTX and, hey presto, ringing tones once more. This is an obvious fault with this model which has been reported by many users and one would have thought that there would have been some modification of the faulty speakers by now but, hang on a minute. If I have bought three and was considering buying a fourth how many replacements have other people bought? That's a nice little earner for RTX so why bother! I certainly won't be buying another one. I have traced the fault and will repair the other two once I have found suitable replacement speakers. This fault detracts badly from an otherwise excellent piece of equipment.

    Am i blind or does this device not have an interface to enter router security key. Am i missing something? Does it need unrestricted access?? Someone please tell me i didn't just waste 100+ on something that isn't aware of basic router security.

  • Connection problems with 1st generation Skype phones

    We have learned that customers with certain Skype certified phones are having log-in issues. We are sorry to hear about these difficulties and we are doing our best to look into this matter to resolve these issues.
    Update (14.03.2012): We're currently gradually deploying an update on our end that should allow the certified phones to connect again.

    I am have the Sype Dualphone 3088 and I use it in Sri Lanka. It worked fine for almost two years now. Sorry to inform that my skype phone (DUALphone 308 had been out of order for the last three days, simply the login does not go through. Should appriciate if you could look in to this matter urgently. Thanks Dinesh

    We wanted to use our new Skype in number and subscription plan as a home phone.  The problem i am facing is finding some decent hardware to use in house.  We want a "real" phone that doesn't need a computer to be used.  The RTX Dualphone 3088 seemed like a decent choice ut the reviews on amazon have me worried.  Everything else i search for is from 2007 and is dicontinued.  Thoughts?

  • RTX 4088 dualphone Problem

    My RTX 4088 dualphone serial number is 0003070700865. I can clearly hear the voice from the caller but my voice can not be heard clearly at the other end. I have made a reset and firmware update already but the pronlem still persist. This problem is true to Skype calls and landline cslls.

  • Can I connect a regular phone with a RTX Dualphone...

    Hi,
    I just decided to switch from vonage to skype number and was wondering:
    If i purchase the Dualphone 4088, will I be able to plug in a regular phone and use it for regular calls? I'd like to have 2 phones but i'm trying to decide if I just need one and then plug in a regular phone, or if I have to purchase 2 handsets.

         Thanks, but at this point, I've rebooted, checked and double-checked more times than I'd care to count...:(
         Since I can see the NMEA strings when the GPS module is hooked-up to the USB port, I guess I'll assume there's some reason why the
         AMA0 UART has not been released, or that the GPS receives some different signals through the TTY that it's not seeing through the AMA0.
          As I mentioned, when I use 'cat /dev/ttyAMA0', it just hangs, like it's getting no data. I'll keep looking...

  • RTX Dualphone can't sign in

    suddenly out of the blue the phone can't sign in... tried updating the firmware and it hasn't helped.. I sign in well from pc or iphone, just the rtx can't sign in. Are others having the same problem or my unit needs service?

    I am having the same problem as the users of teh RTX Dualphone - as of yesterday morning (March 11, 2012),  my Philips VOIP8410 dualphone is no longer working, either, telling me that I can't sign in. 
    I've tried resetting, and reinstalling the firmware from scratch.  I've been a longtime fan of Skype - used Skype for years with this phone with no problems until yesterday morning.  SKYPE, YOU NEED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR LATEST UPDATES REMAIN BACKWARD-COMPATIBLE!!!!
    As for me, I hope Skype fixes this problem soon, otherwise, there are a lot of other VOIP services starting out there, and I will have to go elsewhere if I cannot ensure my next Skype phone purchase won't be made obsolete by Skype itself!

    In answer to your question, it is MS putting profit before service & quality. Think about the windows releases that need 'repair before functionality, BUT you still pay full price. My NEW  Skype 4088 phone will not access my account, the batteries would not hold a charge, the currency shown is UK, (I'm in Australia) the gift card was two YEARS out of date, no light on the side of the Phone, Yes on the little black box. It will not hold the settings Date 06.01.1970. How old is the darned thing...
