Dualstack configuration in SMSY

Hi,
how to add a ERP 6.0 System Dualstack ABAP+JAVA in SMSY?
The Abap Stack is implemented and work well, but Java Stack wont work. (How to configure ? )
I need this to Upgrade to EHP4 SP3 at the moment Solution Manager only generate a XML file ABAP.
The stack information for the java part is missing in the XML file.

Hi,
In SMSY->Systems->SAP ERP6.0->your system->selction of main instance
mark your instance component as relevant and assign the respective software component. You have to maintain the Java stack under software Components->java in SMSY.

Use valid S-USER and update the user details in AIUSER.

Managed System Configuration - PI7.1 system solman_setup

HI all,
In trying to execute the step "Managed System Configuration" for a PI7.1 system in Solution Manager SOLMAN_SETUP, in the first step to "maintain the connection", its failing immediately with:
Error when opening an RFC connection
Establish connection to System <hostname>(01) - <SID>_001
Any ideas?

- ping to PI from solman

Error in smsy in standalone server

Hello all!
I have installed in the same sever, solution manager 7.01 stack 25 and SAP ECC 6 NW 7.1 EHP4. I'm trying to install in our demo system the EHP5 and with the manual i have to do via Mopz.
I have configured the SLD in SAP ECC to comunicate with Solution manager (same machine). Solution manager incorporate to the landscape SAP ERP Enhancement Package product system. I assign the logical component the system and This entry is incorpored to the solution landscape solution manager to execute Mopz. In the second step (select files automatically) u201CEnhancement Package Installationu201D have to appear and it doesn't.

I see that the product version name it's ERP 6 but sld don't detect it automatically.

How i have to configure in smsy a sap erp 6 nw 7.01 ehp 4 in smsy I have double stack installation, it's standalone machine.

SMSY - Generated RFC between solution mananger and a satellite system

Hi gurus,
I would like to ask you some things about configuration of SMSY - create systems and their RFC´s between solution manager (SSM) and a satellite system (for instance the DEV system SD3 (in solution manager system)
But my problem is which of these users I must use in each RFC???
Because until this moment I have been doing without knowing very well where I must put that users in those RFC´s!!!!! And I don´t know if I have been doing well!! You understand ?!? :- /
Can somebody give me a simple explanation about this... Which user I have to put (due to the authorizations) in those RFC connections?!
And other thing, if you don´t mind take a look to other question I ask yesterday which is related with this doubt:
Help me please... :- /

Hi Joao,
As I understand, the respective RFCs and users are created autmatically when the RFCs are
generated for a satellite system in SMSY.
Furthermore, the Z roles and profiles for each of these users are also created/generated during the
generation procedure. The roles/authorization assigned to each of the generated user are as mentioned
in the below link:

The administration/customizor specific authorization objects are also provided. As you mentioned the
above helps understand the roles/authorizations required for specific user with regards to an RFC.
Apart from this, all the actual creation, generation and assignment is done - thanks to the automated
setup in SMSY
Also I suppose the above link should help you decide the auhtorization objects requested by you
in the other thread.

Hi Irfan,
SLD is configured using SMSY transaction. You can use SMSY transaction and there you can see what are all the systems that have been added to the Solution Manager System Landscape.
Different nodes are available for products, systems, logical components in the system landscape.

System monitoring - alert email notification

Hello Sapers,
I already set up system monitoring in our Solution Manager but i would like to receive mail if any alert occur. Unfortunatelly I did not find any way how to do it through Solution Manager. I guess there must be something like edit -> Automatic email transmission where I set up sending Earlywatch and SL reports to my mailbox, but how to set up alert email notification?
I also tried another way - setting up CEN (in our sollution manager) in RZ20, there i created monitor where i have desired alerts from all remote systems configured in SMSY (i have not used sapccm4x or any other ccms agent), also tried autoreaction method on local and it is working fine (SCOT is set up) but when i tried create and assign central autoreaction method (sapnote 429265) during assigning i receive error "no ccms agent avalable for system" and it is not working. Do I really need configure SAPCCM4X on all remote systems when i want to use central autoreaction? I dont feel very confortable with this solution. I think there must be some other smarter way (maybe in solution manager).
We also tried to connect our RZ20 monitor set to nagios (used in our company to monitor non sap servers and email notification), but we are not able to compile the ccms nagios plugin uder 64bit. AIX 5.3.
I also heard little bit about ALM (Alert management) but dont know anything about forwarding alerts from RZ20 to ALM and transmitting email from there. But I think this sollution would be the most difficult from all mentioned above.

Somewhat chasing the point here - when you have the Solman and you look in your CCMS and you can see the other systems - it is all RFC data and not actually on the Solution Manager (the only local MTE's are those tha belong to the Solution Manager). For the Solution Manager to Centrally Auto-React to threasholds (act as the CEN System), the information needs to be passed to the Central System through the agents.
If you want to do email threasholds on your remote systems, you can configure it on each of the systems individually without agents as this is a CCMS Function that any SAP System can do - but this is not Central Auto-Reaction. This is just actions taken on individual systems based on local MTE's.
To Centrally Auto-React - you have to add the agents so the information is passed to the CEN to react on.
I hope that this has clarified the situation a bit more. If this answers your question, please set this thread to answered.

XI 7.0 - PI 7.1 EHP1

Hi,
we are going to upgrade XI 7.0 to PI 7.1 EHP1
We need to create a XML file and download additional SP'S
But in MOPZ I see only Maintenance button, not Upgrade as in case of ERP upgrade.
Anyone has experience with that ?

System version is NetWeaver 7.0, so in SMSY is configured as SAP Netweaver, and main component is Process integration.We can not configure it as SAP Netweaver PI, because that is suitable only for PI 7.1. We are searching for solution for two independent landscapes (2x Solman, 2x XI - different customers).
What we have to configure in SMSY according to you opinion?
Edit: Under Maintenace we see only SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0. I guess that is correct, we cannot see any packages for PI 7.1. But from my experiences with ECC 6.0 we have to see an Upgrade button in SM and under it we will see PI 7.1.

Problem with Maintenance Optimizer...

Hello gurus,
I had a problem which I didn´t reached a solution...
When I create a new maintenance optimizer transaction and choose, on first step "Plan Maintenance", a type of Product Version I don´t have all systems which I configure on this Product Version on SMSY (System Landscape Directory).
For instance: I configure in SMSY the Product version (group) SAP ECC 6.0 which contains three systems DEV ; QAS ; PRD.
When I open/create a new maintenance optimizer transaction and choose the SAP ECC 6.0 I only see one system, the DEV system, within his, and I want to see all three systems which I configure in SMSY!
Help me please...! TKS

When I press in that URL - http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000679533& - does not appear anything about maintenance optimizer guide... it show me a notify "This folder needs to be reviewed" and I can´t see anything like you describe... I´m newest in SAP and still I have difficulties on search sometimes some things...

Do you have your Satellite system configured in SMSY? Are you getting EWA reports generated under transaction DSWP for this satellite system in question? If so, then you are connected to SOLMAN. You can also do RFC testing via either transaction SMSY or SM59 or SDCCN within SOLMAN or the Satellite system.

Trusted systems gone after Solman hardware migration

Hi All,
I migrated our Solman EHP1 to a new x64 box via homogeneous system copy, everything went absolutely fine but one thing... Solman is not trusted any longer in any of the systems. The host/IP is the same and RFC's in SM59 all look good... I wondered if theres any way to regenerate the trusted/trusting RFC's without affecting the rest of the configuration in SMSY.
Also, checked and the satellite systems still and Solman still trust them but not the other way around

This refrence i got from some other note which was referring the post installation activities(System copy) and was suggesting to re-estabilishing trusting/trusted system relationship.

Unable to Create IMG project.

hello all Solman Experts,
I have a quick question and hopefully get a quick answer too
We are investigating possible options for implementing CTS+ for our Portal Landscape.
We are on SM 7.0 and EP 7.0 2004s.
My understanding is that, the IMG Project is usually created in ABAP stack of the source system defined in the project Landscape
Our Systen Landscape configured in SMSY consists of 3 Portal instances (All JAVA stacks)
If we create a project, where will the IMG project be created?
Will it be possible to create a SM project (via SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) for the portal landscape that has only java stacks?

its not possible to create IMG in a java only system. But you could create the IMG Project e.g. in the Solman System.

EHP4 Install on ERP 6.0 with Netweaver 700

Can someone confirm for me. When installing ERP 6.0 EHP4 on an existing install do you have to include Netweaver EHP1?

You need approx. 100 GB additional space for shadow instance. The actual size depends upon your DB size but normally it should not grow more than 100GB. In my case (Oracle on HP-UX) the DB size was approx. 2.5 TB and I did a successful upgrade with an extra space of 100 GB.
Furthermore, if you are using EHP installer, it will calculate the space requirement and will warn you ( in case it needs more space) before start of the shadow creation.
regarding your earlier question of EHP4 install and EHP1 requirement -
SAP has released EHP1 to EHP4 for ERP 6.0 so obviously one should opt for EHP4 ( the highest one) for upgrade target. However for Java instance only EHP1 is released. So if you have a Java instance ( like a portal) you need to upgrade it to EHP1. If you have both ABAP and Java instance on the same system you need to upgrade ABAP to EHP4 and Java to EHP1. If you are using solution manager's MOPZ, it will show you correct files to download and correct upgrade targets provided you have done the correct configuration on SMSY.

Service Level Reporting

Hi,
I am trying to configure Service Level Reporting from Solution Manager 4.0 for one of the satellite system configured in SMSY. After selecting the system, under the link Central Performance History it is mentioned like "Enter the path for monitoring objects in CCMS" and also requesting to enter all indicators of the relevant system. What is the path we need to give and what is indicators meants here ?
