Dude, where's my space? ("Whatsize" reveals that my FileVault ate 20GB)

So, I was wondering how my disc is so bloated. I started to calculate the stuff I saw on disc and it didn't really match the space occupied on disc.
Hence I got this app called "Whatsize". It actually revealed that my FileVault file content shows that I've used 44.3 GB, exactly as I calculated. Still, the figure for "FileVault Used" is 63.5GB. So there is a good 20GB somewhere.
Any thoughts? How might I free it up?

Yes. Back up your hard disk, then reformat it and don't use FileVault. If you need to encrypt certain files, there are much better ways then FileVault.

Where did "Resereve space for disk use" go in iTunes? I can't find it any more.
This is major problem because if I want to auto-fill my phone (I don't have time to constantly set up playlists) I then get constantly get errors that my phone is full and that I can't take photos. This is really frustrating.
If I got to iTunes Help, the documentation is wrong and out of date. I have iTunes 11.1.5 and if I go to Help -> iTunes Help and look at this section, it's completely wrong. See attached screenshot.
The whole iTunes UX has become a confusing mess, I hope you're looking for a new product manager for it.

I am having the same issue. It even tells you that you can reserve space on your phone in the iTunes help, but I can not figure out how to open the Autofill Settings window in iTunes. Here is what it says in help of iTunes 12.0.1.26:

You can use Autofill to add songs to your iPod, iPhone, or iPad with a single click. You can set Autofill to select songs at random, or you can customize your settings.

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload, Stop, & Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar. Only one function is ever active at any one time, so combining them save UI space was a good idea. Cnet seems to have some programs that would meet this need, but a search on the safety of cnet downloads reveals that many people claim to have gotten malware from there. The last thing I'd want is to get anything bad on my brand new Air! Would be grateful for suggestions from various people on a) what program to use b) where to safely download it. I am unable to locate where to change the phone number that is associated with my itunes account. I have a new number and the old number is no longer accessible by me. I've logged into my iTunes acct and it seems I can only change my appleID itself, my billing address info, and password and things like that. I cannot find where to remove a number and add a new one. I've gone to my mobile devices (iphone, ipad) as well as my mac and I'm getting a bit frustrated with it. I'm sure there's a simple solution and I'm just missing it. Going to settings>messages>send&receive....there is the old number and no option to make a correction. I've unchecked it but why can't I add the new number? On my iphone the ONLY option that shows up is my current number but when I set up my new ipad I have the issue described here. I want this number completely removed from my account there has to be a way to get it out of the system.
Also when going to settings>facetime>you can be reached at: shows email addresses as well as the OLD phone number with no option to make the correction, remove the incorrect number, or add a new number. I figured this was tied in to my appleID since thats when it showed up (right when I signed in on my ipad). You canot easily change your country settings. The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store. You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config.

Easiest way to find time machine files is to open up the folder or application(works for email and iphoto) they were in - then click on time machine ICON or enter time machine from the time machine menu to go back through the files.

You need to dispute the transaction with your credit card company. Apple is only a merchant. You can also contact the iTS web based customer service and tell them but they will direct you to dispute with the CC company.

Thank you but I have now solved my problem.
I was trying to move music files from one iTunes library on one computer to the iTunes library on another computer.
The instructions on the Apple site tell you to open sharing on both libraries and then use the Show menu button at the bottom of the window to select 'items not in my library'
What they don't tell you is that the button is on a hidden toolbar that will only appear if both libraries are logged in to the same account with the same ID and passward in Home Sharing which is in the Advanced drop down menu.
I had Home Sharing switched on in my Preferences but was not using identical IDs & passwords.
As the toolbar with the Show menu botton was hidden I could not see it until I worked out that both computers needed an identical log-in. With that done after various trial and error efforts I found the button and was able to move the files.
