Due to a slow ISP I would like to download and save tutorials on my hard drive, is this possible?

hI, I would like to download and save tutorials on my hard drive is this possible and ow do I do it?
My ISP Is very slow and Adobe TV does not work. 30 minutes tryingto open a single tutorial and nothing.

Not with iPhoto.
You can relocate the masters using Aperture if you're using the latest versions of both iPhoto and Aperture. However, if you're planning on using iPhoto going forward having the masters on one disk and the Library on another is not a good idea. Have a read of this

  • I have to keep an old version of Firefox for work but would like to download the current version to use personally. Is this possible?

My work requires I use an old version of Firefox. This means I really can't use it for other things. I would like to install the new version but also keep the old version. Is that possible?

Yes, you can download the newest version in a portable package so the newer version and the old version you need will keep their files separated from each other.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions.

  • Hi, I have two iPads, two separate accounts I have purchased apps on one Acc. and would like to use them on my second iPad. How is this possible

I have two iPads, two separate accounts I have purchased apps on one Acc. and would like to use them on my second iPad. How is this possible

If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps. This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with.

  • I would like to purchase apps in the app store without adding a credit card to my apple id.  I would like to enter just a gift card as payment.  Is this possible?  How do I do it?

I would like to set my payment options in a way that will not tie my user id to a credit card, but will allow me to use gift cards to purchase apps.  Is this possible?  How can I do this?  Do I ever have to enter a credit card in order to pay with gift cards?

No. You can redeem Gift cards directly in the Store Apps by tapping the "Redeem" button next to your Apple ID. Usually found at the bottom of the different tabs in the Store Apps.
You can set your payment method to none.
In fact that's what I do. I have no payment option set, and stick exclusively to gift cards.

  • Would like some opinions re: best backup software/external hard drives for windows xp and windows 7

Recently tried to restore a corrupted hard drive with a Toshiba canvio hard drive with NTI Backup Now EZ I purchased in 2010.  Was only able to restore a few files, had a very hard time working with the software, even contacted NTI, still not much luck.  Am unhappy with the NTI software, and want to know what external hard drives and what software the community has used and would recommend for Windows XP and Windows 7?  Thank you so much in advance for your time and opinions.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It doesn't matter which external drive you use.
Let's talk about backing up the entire drive. Be sure to burn the disc that enables you to restore.
Windows XP does not have a decent image backup built-in. I understand this free one works well.
       EaseUS Todo Backup Free
Windows 7 has a decent one.
Learn more about system image backup
Windows 8 contains the same backup. Open "Windows 7 File Recovery" (sdclt.exe).

  • I have an Imac G4 and would like to install USB adapter for wireless internet connectivty. Is this possible with my system ?

I have an iMac G4 and I am wondering if i could connect it wirellesly to an existing router I have for a PC, using an internet USB adapter ? Would my system be compatible with such hardware ?

    Thanks RC for your reply.
My router is a Netgear WGR614 v8. Not sure what the encryption is, but i wantto say 128 bit.
Here's more info on the iiMac:
The Apple iMac G4/1.0 17-Inch (Flat Panel) features a 1.0 GHz PowerPC 7445 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and a 256k on-chip level 2 cache, 256 MB of RAM (266 MHz PC2100 DDR SDRAM), an 80.0 GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive (7200 RPM), a tray-loading 4X "SuperDrive", NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics with 64 MB of DDR SDRAM (AGP 4X support), and support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth with optional cards.
The internal components are housed in an attractive 10.6" half-sphere, ice white case with a chromed stainless steel neck that supports a 17" TFT Active Matrix LCD display. This model shipped with MacOS X 10.2 "Jaguar" (and cannot boot into MacOS 9), as well as an ice white Apple Pro Keyboard, Mouse, and Speakers. Unlike some earlier iMac models that are convection-cooled, the iMac "Flat Panel" series is cooled by a quiet internal fan.

  • HT4352 I lost my remote for apple tv and would like to use my ipad mini as the remote.  Is this possible?

I am not sure if I can program or whatever my ipad mini to use as the renote for our apple tv.  We cannot find the remote and I thought I read somewhere tht one can set up their ipad device to act as a remote for apple tv.  I could be wrong.  Maybe it means sharing some other thisngs between computers but not usinghte ipad as a remote for apple tv.  Any information abou this mater would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    scima

Only if you've already setup home-sharing on ATV and both are on the same network.
The remote app is available from the App Store

  • I would like to recover my bookmarks from my old hard drive that I now have as an external USB drive. The old OS was Vista; the new is Windows 7.

I recently had a new hard drive installed on my laptop; this hard drive has the Windows 7 OS on it.
At the same time, I had my old hard drive mounted in an SATB enclosure so that I could use it as an external USB drive. [I stupidly did not export my bookmarks before doing all of this]
Everything seems to work fine [I can see all of the files], but I cannot find out where my bookmarks are stored on the old hard drive.
Is it possible to find them and get them transferred over to the new hard drive??
    Thanks!!

Bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. You can copy that file from the old profile folder into your current profile folder. For details of how to find the profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles or http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
You can recover more than just the bookmarks - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile

  • I would like to retrieve and save more recent calls?

My recent call list keeps going away after one day.  Can I retrieve older "recent calls"

I've never seen that; I have 100 calls, going back 6 weeks. Do you sync with a corporate Exchange server? If so your company may have set a security policy to delete calls after 1 day (although I did not think this was a policy that could be set).

  • I found some Kodak Photo CDs and would like to open and save images to computer. Is it possible in Elements?

Is there a plug-in for Elements that allows me to open Kodak Photo CDs?

Unfortunately there is no plugin for photoshop elements on the mac side running mavericks that i know of.
You should be able to import the photos into iPhoto from the cd
    Other applications:
    pcdMagic
    https://sites.google.com/site/pcdmagicsite/
    GraphicConverter 9
    http://www.lemkesoft.de/en/image-editing-slideshow-browser-batch-conversion-metadata-and-m ore-on-your-mac/

  • I have been using my newly purchased Iphone for Iphonagraphy (Iphone photography).  I would like to sync my Iphone to my external hard drive so I can move photos in and out of my Iphone, to make use of the apps I have exclusively on my phone.

I want to sync my Iphone with the external hard drive so I can move photos from my phone to the hard drive AND BACK!  I'm using a Windows OS

    You have several options:
Connect the phone using a cable to your computer. Use the camera and scanner wizard to import the photos from the Camera Roll, then organize them and sync them back to the Photos app (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). the Camera Roll is intended for temporary storage only.
Save the images to your Dropbox account. It's free, http://www.dropbox.com. There's a Dropbox app for the iPhone, and also for Windows, Mac and Linux. Dropbox can also be accessed using a web browser. Dropbox (and similar services) provide cloud-based storage that can be accessed from anywhere.
    Use Photo Stream
Email or text (MMS) the images to yourself
Create a Picasa or Shutterfly account, save the images to it, then download to your computer
    I'm sure there are others.

  • I have noticed my iMac OSX is very slow.  I would like to clean it up.  I continue to get a pop-up from TUneUP my Mac.  Any reviews?  Any suggestions?

I have noticed that my iMac 0SX is VERY SLOW.  I would like to clean it up.  I have been receiving pop-ups from TUNEUP MY MAC.  They want $40 to supposedly clean up my computer and make it run smoother and quicker.  Any reviews? Any suggestions?

DO NOT repeat DO NOT download or install any performance applicaiton's of any type. This is a scam and should be avoided. You haven't told us anything about your computer such as the version of OS X installed or how it's configured. I would recommend downloading and running an EtreCheck report so we can get a better idea about your system. You can find Etrecheck by clicking:
    http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
Run it's report then post it back to this forum.
