Due to a virus, I need to re-format my hard drive...is there any way I can back up my bookmarks and passwords to a memory stick?

Out of the blue, I received a "Windows Security Alert", which looked very authentic, and yes, I was sucked in and clicked in...ran ZA-Pro, which helped kill the symptoms, but system still does not operate properly.
I stumbled upon another way to gain internet access, so, here I am...
Regardless of my specific problem, I think my question is very basic: "Is there a way to send my password and bookmark info to an external drive for back-up purpose?"
