Duel Adapter for P2 Card problems

It was recommended that I get a Duel Adapter for use with P2 Card on MacBook Pro to use in Express slot. I've done that. I've gone thru the recommended set up steps but the card/icon does not show up on my desktop. Any thoughts.
1.Re-booted computer. 2. Installed P2 drivers. 3. Inserted Duel Adapter into slot. 4. Then inserted P2 card into adapter. Nothing. called tech support with Duel Adapter we check under hardware and the PC Card and PCI cards show that it's all connected, it just doesn't show up on desktop.

Double check to make sure you have all the proper firmware and drivers, it took me awhile to find them all,

Also you may want to shut down the computer. Put the Adapter and card in then re-boot from there.

After you insert a SD Card into a computer with a fresh installation of Windows XP for the first time, the AutoPlay functionality of your WXP OS may not work. However, after you insert the SD Card into your Notebook, the AutoPlay functionality may start to work again.
As far as I know, the Auto Play may not be started because WXP has not initialized your SD Card device in registry. What you can do is to restart the system with a SD Card inserted in the SD Card slot. This should reinitialize the SD Card registry entry.
Try it please, and let us know if Auto play functionality work properly.

USB Adapter for Express Card??

I have a Verizon ExpressCard (PC770) that I use with my Dell laptop. Is there an adapter that will allow me to use it through my USB port on my MacBook?

To the best of my knowledge, no. That card appears to be PCI-based and the existing USB ExpressCard adapters will only work with USB-based ExpressCards.

File Adapter Reading Wild Card Problem

I am using SynchRead so that the file can be read when a user clicks on a command button.
Is it true that with SynchRead you cannot use wild cards to specify files for reading? (e.g *.txt)
If so, is there a work around so that the file is only read on command?

Duel Adapter not mounting p2 card

I purchased a Duel Adapter for my panasonic p2 cards to be able to be read on my macbook pros--one running 10.5.8 and one running 10.5.5. I was having a hard time getting the adapter to mount my p2 card on either laptop until I realized I hadnt installed the P2 drivers. I did so and the duel adapter successfully mounted on my macbook pro running 10.5.5......however, I did the same install on my macbook pro running 10.5.8 and it does not recognize the card/adapter. In my "About this Mac" I see the PCI Cards section says "This computer does not appear to have any PCI cards installed." What is different from my 10.5.5 and my 10.5.8 that the adapter does not mount on the latter? I called Duel Systems to ask for technical support and they said at this point it is an apple issue. any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I had been using my dual adapter with 10.5.5 and it was working fine, now it is running 10.5.8 and is not recognizing the card at all. nor is my firewire. if anybody has any solutions please let me know.

DUEL ADAPTER and 10.5.3

Greetings have new MacBookPro and was using Duel Adapter for P2 offloads as intermittently as it would function. It's now dead with 10.5.3 and is there anyone anywhere who has any insight on how and why the driver for the Duel Adapter sice being integrated into OSX Leopard and been at best unreliable and at worse non-functional. Duel Systems is not offering any help because they say it's Apple's issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated by this P2 consultant.

I had the same thing happen while using InDesign CS3 with Spaces. The application was running, but I could not access it. I tired to Command-Tab to it. The application icon was visible, but when I selected it, nothing happened, menu bar still said Finder. I tried Double clicking on another InDesign file, and it acted like it was opening, but still no view of InDesign. I tried to restart my machine, and I got the error that InDesign would not let it restart. I finally had to force-quit InDesign using the Command-Option-Escape keys.
Something is not right here....

When you inserted the card in the camera, did you try to format it? Does this happen with other cards or just this one? And may I also ask the model of the adapter you're using?
If you've tried to format the card and still get the same message, we recommend checking both the port and the card adapter for any dirt or debris. If this doesn't happen with other cards, the card or adapter that you're using may be defective.The dedicated adapter for this card is the MSAC-M2.

DVI to ADC Adapter for GeForce 6800 video card?

Do I need DVI to ADC Adapter for Nvidia GeForce 6800 which I just installed on my G5 to be able to run ADC 23" Cinema off the GeForce 6800 card?
I want to run a new 30" Cinema and old ADC 23" Cinema from GeForce 6800. I ran the old 23" from the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro

Hi Milan,
If the Geforce 6800 does not have an ADC output, then yes, you do.
You need to check to see whether or not that the card has DVI-I output, as some of the DVI to ADC adaptors use a DVI-I plug which will not fit into a DVI-D output due to the extra pins in the plug.

In the US you can purchase 'iTunes' or 'App Store' cards for cash at many retail stores, and apply the code from the purchased (validated) card to add credit (money) to your Apple ID account for online music and App purchases. It is my understanding that such credits can be used for US purchases of any online content, including music, apps, and movie rentals. Are such cards sold in your area?

IMac G5 Graphic Card Replacement for blue screen problem

When I turn on iMac, I only see blue screen, the apple technician said Need to replace graphic card, Nvidia Gforce 7600GT 256.
1, can it install in IMac? Seem like it work for PC?
2, I had blue screen problem several time, I think I turn on iMac too long, so it burn out graphic card.

If you look around, you might be able to find someone who will replace just the chip on the graphics card, which is what usually fails. It will take someone highly skilled; they really have to know what they're doing--it's not an ordinary soldering job.
Here's someone who found a non-Apple service to do this, and it proved to be far less expensive than a full logic board replacement. But I think this was in the UK.

Express card adapter for NI Express Card 8360

Hi All,
I am trying to find a USB or Firewire or eSATA or PCMICIA to express card adapter for my laptop (DELL Latitude E6400) to connect an NI Express card 8360.
I have searched for adapters but they are all based on USB2.0 technology but the link below seems to suggest that USB based adapters wont work.

There isn't really anything I can add to this issue except to echo what it said in that link. NI don't manufacture such adapters so I can't recommend any, hopefully someone else has had some experience with this and can offer some advice on the issue.
