Duh! Forgot to deactivate before vaping :(

I've just vaped my old Tiger install in favour of a Leopard upgrade (PPC), but I forgot to deactivate CS and After Effects CS2 first. I guess my only recourse is to 'customer services'. Correct?

Sorry, I meant CS2.
I didn't know that CS2 wasn't supported under Leopard, but as a non-US resident I'm not getting screwed by Adobe for CS3, so I'll live with it.
I mainly only use Illustrator anyway. Are there big issues for AI CS2 under Leopard? Should I go back to Tiger?

  • Forgot to deactivate before uninstalling AA3. Can I reactivate it?

    Hi
The title pretty much sums it all. I've had had to uninstall the software temporarily on my computer, but forgot to proceed to deactivation before proceeding.
Now I've reinstalled it, but I'm stuck at an activation screen which prompts me to either buy a new licence or quit. I've checked my account, and my licence is still active and valid.
Is there any way I can get AA3 back on its feet?

Your problem goes deeper than forgetting to deactivate--Adobe have actually closed the activation servers for Audition 3 and a number of other bits of earlier software.  However, in a strange way this will work to your advantage now!
Visit this page http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l for instructions on how to download and install a generic version of AA3.0 with a standard serial number.  This should get you going.
I gather a few people with Audition 3 pre installed have encountered some problems installing the new download (but not many).  If you're unlucky enough to be in this group, the FAQ tells you how to fix the issues:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/5117676#5117676

  • Forgot to deactivate before reformatting hard drive on Mac - help!

I have a copy of CS3 Design Premium that I need to reinstall on my office machine. The machine's system became corrupted and I performed a complete reinstall. I just want to put my CS3 back on, but it won't let me because it says I need to deactivate the previous copy. But I can't do this, as it doesn't exist. What's the solution?

Those errors sound like your drive is having serious trouble. It is probably time to look for a replacement for it. I certainly hope everything on that disk is backed up.

  • I forgot to deactivate CS6 before reinstalling the OS

I reinstalled OS X Lion, but forgot to deactivate CS6 first. Is this going to be a problem? I'm counting on two installs...

You get 2 activations which allow you to install the software on 2 machine, hence if you have exceeded the activation count then contact Adobe support to get the activation resetted otherwise there shouldn't be any problem.

  • Forgot to deactivate Adobe Acrobat XI Standard

Tech forgot to deactivate Adobe Acrobat XI Standard before reimaging PC.  Now, how do we get the S/N to be available for downloading back to this PC?

I assume Acrobat was not part of the image from what you say. As for the SN and install files, use the ones you should have backed up last time you did it. If you downloaded from Adobe, you should be able to log in and get them again from the Adobe site. This time be sure to back them up. If you lost one activation, you will have to call Adobe Support about that issue, explaining what happened.

I am unable to activate an old windows copy of CS3 that I have. Did previously install it on other computers which I then failed to deactivate before discarding them. What can I do now?ACT

    why can't you install it?
if it's because you've used your max of 2 current activations and need to deactivate (and you'll see that message if that's the problem), contact adobe support - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service1.html
    otherwise, explain.

  • Migrating to NEW Mac-Deauthorize/Deactivate Before or After?

    Hello all.
In the next few days *I am preparing to set up my new iMac and migrating* all the user's data, files, software and applications over.
    _Here are some queries:_
*1. iTunes Account/Computer - De-authorize BEFORE or AFTER the migration?*
*2. Adobe Software - Deactivate before or after?*
(We know that Adobe CS software has limited licenses to run on limited number of computers)
*3. Microsoft Office 2008 - Deactivate before or after? Is there such a "mode"?*
I want to make sure I can still run the same license on the new iMac.
    Thanks and cheers

All software that's activated should be deactivated before the migration. Because it's stuff that happens during migration that can mess up your registrations, doing it after is often too late. (After all, if they survived the migration, there would be no need to deactivate, just start working.)
Microsoft Office 2011 has activation, but no previous versions do. Your Office 2008 has no activation, but if something gets messed up you might need to re-register, I'm not sure...it's a good idea to know where your Product Key is just in case you have to reinstall.

  • I reformatted my hard drive, but forgot to deactivate CS6 first

I reformatted my hard drive, but forgot to deactivate CS6 first. I had CS6 installed on two computers. I deactivated CS6 on one computer, then installed CS6 on another computer. I then had issues with the new computer and am reformatting the disk. Problem is, I forgot to deactivate CS6d from the new computer. Will this mess me up?

    Computer reconfiguration or replacement
You can receive an activation error if your computer has changed recently. You can't solve this problem on your own, if you've done one of the following:
Changed your computer's configuration, for example, due to a crash:
    Upgraded your computer hardware
    Replaced a hard drive
    Upgraded the Operating System
Gotten a new computer and old computer is unavailable
Contact Adobe Support specialists via chat or over the phone on 1-866-772-3623.
Keep your serial number handy. Look for your serial number on the CD or DVD case, or in the email confirming your purchase. For assistance locating your serial number, see Find a serial number.

  • Forgot to deactivate PS before deinstalling it. Now I can't reinstall it on another computer. Help?

    Hey there!
I've got a rather massive problem. I own the student versions of PS CS4 extended and PS CS5 extended. Now I bought a new laptop and wanted to install CS5 on the new one. It was installed on the old one and as I didn't know that you had to deactivate it first before deinstalling it.. I didn't. Now I can't install it on my new laptop, though I own everything. The serial number doesn't work anymore of course and god how this annoys me. Does anyone know what I could do? I mean I spent money, I own the CDs and I don't know what to do x.x
    Please?

    Hey!
I don't really receive an error. I put in the install CD, want to enter my serial number and the programme says that this code does not work (of course because the system thinks that I still use the number for my old laptop.. but I don't.. does that make any sense?). So I can't install it because the serial number is "wrong" although I've got the right one. I should breathe in and out and maybe try to explain it again. Sounds really weird but I hope you get me.. somehow..

    Premiere Elements 8

Hey thanks for the reply ATR.
I had thought the issue I was having was because of the deactivation. I contacted Adobe support and they stated that they have corrected the problem with my deactivation, that was yesterday.
    Today
    I have uninstalled PE8
    Reboot
    Installed Quicktime
    Installed DirectX
    Reboot
    Reinstalled
    Reboot
Still having the issue were nothing is selectable except
    File
    New
    Open
    Exit
    Help
    Help
    Support
    About
    Even when I start a project...nothing loads.
When I try to open a project I get the error message.
"Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatible. Please use the appropriate application to open this project."
This is the message when creating a file and reopening in PE8.
