Dummy Companies in Sap software

Hi
I have a problem in my SAP Software installed recently. I dont have any example companies in my system (like 1000, IDES, etc) to refer to. I dont even have the types of currencies and countries, chart of accounts,fiscal year, field status variants, etc. Nothing at all. Are these companies installed along with the software or are they dumped from somewhere?
Can I please get a solution to my problem. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. Since you said client 000 is client master and contains data for sure. Hence I understood that I was wrongly searching for data in client 800.
I tried in 000 & I could solve the problem by going to Tcode 'SCC4" (client Maintenance) where 'No changes allowed" option was selected. Hence I was not allowed to use any Tcodes. I changed it to changes allowed and there we go, I got all the data required.

Live or dummy project in SAP

Hi Experts
My client sometimes need to do pilot project for themselves, not related to any sales order. They want to add some materials into project which can / cant be in material master.Obviously these costs will be their expenses.
Should they make dummy projects for inclusion of material against network or make live projects?
Need help.

Dummy Variables in SAP Sourcing

Dear All,
We have a unique requirement of creating some dummy variables so that the contract creator can enter the values manually during contract generation.
Currently we have many areas in a contract where manual entries are required. Can we achieve this in any other way instead of using number of variables.

Hi Jacquelou,
You have the 39 and 2 correct (Matrix/Grid and Column). The 0 specifies that it is a string value or the system must read the value as a string. You can have different variations of the last "parameter". It can be
0 = String
Number = Read as numeric value to do calculations
Currency = Retrieves the currnecy symbol if a currnecy value
Date = Read as date value

I install Oracle Business Process Architect 11g again but with local DB. there is quick start example. when I share blueprint that project, It is ok but when I add a repository server and share a project inside it nothing happen.
I dont know why???? please help me.

I was reading an article on SAP and came across the word business blueprint.Is this something like your functional specifications or entirely different from that ?
Googled the word and came across a few blueprints but I am unable to co-relate it with SAP.
Kindly shed some light on blueprint in SAP and also request you to send some material on this, probably a sample blueprint.

Business Blueprint is a phase in the project where you study the current business process of the client in As Is stage and then try to provide a solution to the business requirements in the To Be stage using the Best Practices suggested by SAP. The org structure, Transaction types, business steps, Gaps in the solution etc are maintained in the Business Blueprint doc.
Based on the BBP doc the realization is done in the realization phase.
Functional specifications are created when some functionality needs to be developed to meet the business requirement. The functional specification gives the functional requirement and the output desired from the technical development.

I tested 2 changes :
- put entries for wdf.sap.corp in my local hosts file
- put entries for dummy.nodomain + adjust /etc/resolv.conf
System start is OK, but access to dbacockpit is still behaving weird.
The html version fails at the start -
Impossible to connect to the URL http://vhcalabaci.dummy.nodomain:0/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dba_cockpit?<etx>. The server responded with: Can't assign requested address.
i can go into the sapgui interface for DB02 but most of the interesting menu options are greyed out - so I can't retrieve the info.
In some of the screens in DB02 I find reference to a server wdflbmd16124 - a DB test connection to this server fails (of course). Tried to enter this name asa alias in the hosts file but that did not solve this issue. On the other hand, abaadm seems to have the correct environment info for the local ASE (since the database starts). Looks some config settings between user env and gui are not in sync.
But I miss ASE skills to figure out where I need to correct this.
Mixed feelings about this installation - it looks like the application part will work - but having this confusing setup might still give surprises at later stages.
So I hope your team works on a clean version of this image and will deploy is soon.

Blueprint from SOLMAN

Can anyone tell me how was his / her experience of preparing and maintaining business blueprint thru SAP Solution manager

Well -my expereiance has been mixed.
For one- I __could not say that simply__ "generate" the blueprint,once i have maintained the various business and it would give me a BIBLE with which i could leverage on change management.
This i have seen happening since Solman has the ability to Regenerate the Blue print as and when required in the process of "Progressive Elaboration" after the signing of the Blueprint itself!!
Yes- there is a option of having the baseline Blueprint and its progressive versions- but then the trick is to FREEZE these progressions at some point - else- even on the go-live date- we have with us a unfinished Blueprint.
The ideal way to have the Blueprint Frozen would be - on the date when the Change Advisory Board members are identified and sooner this happens - it works out best for all.

Dummy printers...

Hello,
We have some Dummy printers in SAP which are set up for background jobs where users doesn't want to print. Since they are dummy printers they display errors in the output because they are dummy.
Now the problem is our client wants to have the printer in no error status and also doesn't print anything as usual.
Please provide me some idea to do this, will command set ID option will help in this.

Unable to create a new tcp/ip connection in sm59

Hello Friends,
We are trying to connect genesys cti gplus adapter to SAP ERP.
While testing new tcp/ip RFC Connection in SM59 , the connection test failed.
Error Details:
Logon :                     Connection error
Error Details     Error when opening an RFC connection.
Is it something to do with librfc32.dll file ? Do we need to register this file? There is one librfc32.dll in C:/win/system32. Do we need to replace this .dll with the current version of librfc32.dll.
I could find some errors in our gplus adapter trace file.
Can someone please help me in this. U can reply me on <email address deleted by moderator>

Hi,
It seems to me that your genesys cti gplus adpater is of the registration type.
And from the error file, it could not contact the SAP gateway to register.
It is so logical that the connection test from SM59 fails.
Check the hostname of your SAP gateway. Is it really in capital letters ?
Are you able to ping it from your adapter host ?
Is the system number of your SAP system 00 ?
You are not supposed to ask for information at your email address.

Plain J2SE adapter and SLD configuration

I'm trying to configure Plain J2SE Adapter to be connected to SLD for purpose of automatic registering to SLD. I followed the description in PDF manual, but I still get following error:

JDBC Adapter-Implicit COMMIT--Need to have 1 Transaction

I am on XI 3,SP9. We are trying to delete all the records from the table first and then Insert Records into the table.
I have definted seperate Statements for the Database Table Delete and INSERT in my XML Schema for the Receiver JDBC Adapter.
The Problem: After Deleting if there is an Error in the INSERT the Adapter does NOT do a Rollback but it Auto-commits.
Can someone tell me how do I stop this? I want to bundle both the Delete and Insert into 1 transaction.

If an exception occurs in XI 3.0 the JDBC adapter doesn't actually issue a ROLLBACK. It just closes the connection. The problem is that Oracle will then COMMIT this since the connection was explicitly closed (as opposed to dropped) even if Auto-commit is turned off at the DB level.
SAP has let us know that they will fix this by including the ROLLBACK. It will be included in SP11.

RFC Adapter as Sender

Hi Experts,
We have a business scenario wherein I have to execute the RFC function(async) from an ABAP in R/3 and update the data in DB2 tables(async).
I am using RFC as sender(async) and JDBC as receiver(async). I configured/registered the RFC connection in SM59 and used the same program id in RFC sender adapter. I tested the connection in standalone mode, it is working.
The RFC function when I imported will have a request and a response. The data that I require to send to JDBC adapter is in the response. So I tried to use RFC response and created a message interface. Then I used that in my interface mapping and in the sender & receiver agreements. In the message mapping I used response that was imported.
I get an error message saying sender agreement not found. The as per OSS note 730870 I changed the sender agreement to use RFC function as sender interface, I cannot use this function module for my mapping, as it does not contain the response.
Am I doing something wrong. Can somebody show me some direction.

If you want to capture the response of an RFC execution in XI and then map this response to another structure(In ur case a JDBC structure) inside XI message mapping , then you will have to use the RFC reciever adapter of XI and NOT the RFC sender adapter.If you use the RFC sender adapter, it means that your SAP system is acting as an RFC CLIENT, what happens is the REQUEST structure in your RFC destination will be converted to RFC-XML by the RFC sender adapter of XI and is available for furthur processing.
But then, If you want to send the RESPONSE structure of an RFC to XI , one way is to execute the RFC in SAP(without passing this thru XI), now you have to pass the result of this RFC execution to XI by assigning it to a request structure of another RFC in your ABAP code and pass it to XI using RFC sender adapter.
If not , you can use a dummy RFC in SAP to send a trigger to XI , execute the actual RFC in XI using RFC reciever adapter , capture the response , map it to ur JDBC structure and you are done.
May be you can give a try on these lines. As for the error , you can chk these threads and see if it helps

Downloading file from website

Hi,
My scenario this time is to download a file (using http protocol) but in the way of file adapter (ftp) way of connection (polling and schedule).
File should be polled x times a day.
I search forum and one solution is to create a BPM started by batch job with dummy message which will pick up file from the website by java proxy. I would like to avoid BPM and dummy message from SAP system.
I do some investigation, and find out that I can use a java proxy and use it in a client which will be scheduled on XI server. Does anyone created client application on WAS server which is scheduled? I found something which is called Timeout Service, but I do not know if this is right way to use it.
I would also want to know which will be easier and less time intensive to develop this scheduled java client or new adapter?

you can also do it like this:
start a BPM with a dummy message - this BPM will only start an
async java proxy that will fetch the file and post it to XI (with no BPM - just to
a java proxy server)
this way you will only use a BPM to call fetching the file
but it will not process it anymore
what you need to consider it the use of application acknowledgments
(so you will know that the proxy worked)
also the configuration for the proxy call (http dest etc)
will have to be stored somewhere (web interface to configure)
