Dump_area_size is unlimited but Enterprise manager showing 57% full in

Hi,
I am working on oracle 10g 10.2.0.1 on Linux 32 bit, In Enterprise manager it is showing Dump Area used (%) 60%, when i removed all of my trace file from bdump, cdump, dpdump, adump. My archive log files are also in this dump area, so i removed most of archice and from rman delete expired archivelog too.
But it is still showing 57%
When i look at parameter MAX_DUMP_FILE_SIZE=unlimited
Then why there is a full % IN Enterprise Manager

Type of Dump area Dump area directory Total Dump area Dump area used
Dump area used% Free Dump area
background /u01/app/oracle/admin/test4/bdump 69171924 37290596 57
31881328
core /u01/app/oracle/admin/test4/cdump 69171924 37290596 57 31881328
user /u01/app/oracle/admin/test4/udump 69171924 37290596 57 31881328
Can we change the the dump area size and if we let it reach 100%, what will be the consequences, whether Oracle database automatically delete the older one or database will not be available for use

  • Managed server working, but enterprise manager shows it is down.

    Hi,
I have installed weblogic 10.3.5 on a pair of Oracle Linux 5 vms.
On one server everything looks great and runs great. On the second server (seemingly set up the exact same way), the enterprise manager shows that my managed server is down, not the admin server, but a new one I have created. I can't seem to find any errors, and everything seems to function just fine, I am able to start and stop the server from em and the console.
    Any ideas where to look?

You may want to post this question in the WebLogic Server forum, the problem may not be specific to WebCenter Portal.

  • OAS Enterprise Manager shows false Hostname after reinstall the server

    Hy,
we have an OAS 10.1.2.0.2 with and 10g (10.2.0.1.0) Database.
Ater a systemcrash we had to reinstall the DB (the dbf-Files are from an backup) and OAS.
we decieded to rename the server.
But now we have the following problem: the Enterprise Manager show the old Hostname.
I see the thread for OAS Re: Oracle Reports Stop Working after Join the Server to the Domain !!!
which points to the script "cmd /c chgiphost.bat -mid"
Is there a similar "Script" for the DB?
(I searched whithin the dbf-files and found lots of old hostnames...)
    Thanks in advance

For database is a different procedure, chgiphost is for OAS only, if you want to check this for database, you could, either go to DB forum and ask same question, or look in the admin guide for the DB you are using. There is going to be the way to make this changes.

  • Apps installed from disk, but Application Manager shows them as not installed

I have all Creative Suite (Master) apps installed from disk, but Application Manager shows them as not installed. Why?

I find a way that could be firing this issue.
First, I installed Creative Cloud in spanish language, then installed some apps like DW, PS, FW, FL, and some more.
Then, some days ago, I realized that my apps were in spanish language, but I prefer them in english, so I switched the language of CC to english in settings options.
Now, these apps installed in spanish language are marked as "not installed" and I see the option to install them. And applications installed before language change, are fine and tracked for updates.
Maybe the issue is related to language changed, the CC manager can't track the language change.
Hope to find a solution in short time, this could be a major issue for someone.
At this time, I'm re-installing the apps in english, I think they must override the spanish ones.
I'm using MacOS 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion) on MacBook AIR, Core i7 (if that make sense)
    Cheers!

  • PC Recognizes phone but Desktop Manager shows disconnected

New laptop running Windows 7 64-bit.  Version 6.x of BB Desktop Manager loaded.  First time phone is plugged in, it is recognized and Sync for Calendar and Contacts configured and executed successfully.  After that, any time the phone is connected to PC, it correctly maps drive to device and I can see the files on the phone from the PC, but Desktop Manager shows disconnected.  It shows phone, model, pin, and all the right information, but still shows Disconnected.  Sound familiar to anyone?  Any help?

  • Database up, but Enterprise Manager claims that it is down

I have a Linux (debian) based Oracle 10g instance running and can use it "almost" normal, except for one weird thing: after a system crash some time ago enterprise manager would display the database as "shut down" and offers me the choice to start it up.
Yet, despite of the message, I can manage users, use ISQL to access the database, ...
And even more weird, if I follow the "start up" link, enterprise manager then tells me that the database is "open" and asks me if I really want to "shut down immediately" ...
Not too much of a problem, yet I would like to know what's going on behind scenes ...

Check whether the Upload Metrics Data is working correctly by clicking on Management System -> Agents then select the Agent URL. If there are errors showing, click on the error URL to dee details and also try to Upload manually by clicking on the Upload Metrics Data Button.

  • Enterprise Manager shows no roles available

    Hi:
I'm trying to get Oracle 10.2 running on RHEL 4. Someone else has installed Linux and Oracle. The oracle installation did everything but create a database instance, so I ran dbca and created one. I am unable to start/shutdown the database via EM. I have to use the command line scripts. Also, I created a new user in the database via EM and when I click on the tab to add roles like CONNECT, etc. for this user, there are no roles to assign the user. Not CONNECT, not anything. Is this an environment problem or something? Is it a browser problem? I'm using Konqueror at the moment but I should be able to get Firefox and use that if I need to.
    Thanks.

OEM dbconsole will definitely work better with firebox compare to Konqueror you were using.
Which user were you used to log into EM dbconsole?

  • Enterprise Manager can't show web-service in the web-services area

I'm deploying my application(stateless web-service) it work's well, but Enterprise Manager show that it's not a web-service, it can't show application in the web-services area, this fuсking server have many-many-many bugs and errors (fuсking developers was drunken a lot, imho), documentation's have many errors too, and I hate this server, but I need to use it on my work :-(
p.s. read documentation's carefully it have many errors.

    Hello,
Could you be more specific about the version of OracleAS you are using?
    - which exact version ? (10.1.3.x, 10.1.2.x or 9.0/x)
    - which kind of Web Service are you developing? (J2EE 1.4/JAX-RPC or earlier version)
Also if you find bug in the documentation or product please send let the Oracle Support Service knows.

  • Can Connect via Database Control but Cannot Connect from Enterprise Manager

    Hi experts,
This is a 10g database on a Windows server.
when I remote into the server:
    - I CAN connect via the web-based Database Control
    - I CANNOT connect to any db/instance via regular Ent Mgr - get the ugly "ORA-12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified" error.
I thought both tools used the same connection files (tnsnames, listerner etc), but maybe not.
When db control connects, but Enterprise Manager cannot, what should I check to find the problem?
    Thank you.
    John

    Thanks madrid.
I eventually got it to work by changing the tnsnames.ora in the client_1 folder
    This is the original:
    FS9ENFP1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = PNCLAFDB)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = FS9ENFP1)
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    ORCL=
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = PNCLAFDB)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = orcl)
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
I removed the EXTPROC entry and added entries for the ORCL and FS9ENFP1 databases, specifying server_database like this:
    FS9ENFP1_PNCLAFDB =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = PNCLAFDB)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = FS9ENFP1)
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
Not really sure WHY it is necessary to list an instance twice, once without server name and another with server name... but EM is able to connect now. I simply modeled tnsnames after another Oracle server where EM was able to connect.

  • Suspend job in Enterprise Manager

    Hi everybody.
I have a problem with my oracle enterprise manager jobs. I schedule a job with rman commands for my database backups and it works fine every day, but sometimes, like yesterday, Oracle enterprise manager shows a message with "Trabajo Suspedido" (suspend job). I delete the job and I recreate again, but the job again is suspend.
    Anyone can help me?

The alert log in 10g has format like this:
    $ORACLE_BASE/admin/<DBname>/bdump/alert_<SID>.log
It usually records basic job actions, that's why I asked for it.
I'm not sure, but would be good to check if the job suspended due to exceeded schedule window.
There is also option to resume a suspended jobs.
Also you may try to query:
    select to_char(log_date, 'DD-MM-YY HH24:MI:SS') as LOG_DATE, OWNER, JOB_NAME, JOB_CLASS, OPERATION, STATUS, USER_NAME
    from DBA_SCHEDULER_JOB_log
    order by 1;
    and
    select owner, JOB_NAME, PROGRAM_NAME, JOB_ACTION, schedule_name, to_char(start_date, 'DD-MM-YY HH24:MI:SS') as START_DATE, REPEAT_INTERVAL, enabled, state, comments
    +from DBA_SCHEDULER_JOBS --+
    where job_name like '%<place_you_jobname>%';
to find more details and analyze history of those events.

  • OS authentication and enterprise manager

    Hello,
I have configured my oracle 8i server to use OS authentification (windows NT). How do I have to fill in the prefered credentials to make it work? The only user I've managed to work with is 'internal' but enterprise manager gives the error 'VNI-2015' if I try to export my database with this user. Filling in no user doesn't work

you can restore the sysman password.
But you can acess to OEM WITH sys or system username.
do you need restoring these passwords

This is a common problem due the permissions and security policies you must assign to the OS user. Ensure the the user has been assigned the Local Security Policy "Log on as Bacth Job".
    Note: You need to read

  • Enterprise Manager for Oracle 7.3.3

How i can have enterprise manager for database server oracle 7.3.3 ? Because i've try with OEM 9.2.0 it wasnt working.. should i use OEM release 2.0.X on it? and where i can get the OEM 2.0.X ?

I am wondering whether Oracle 11g comes with
Enterprise ManagerYes it does. But Enterprise Manager is a common denominator for several products.
In 11g, "Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control software is installed by default".

or not as previous versions 9i and
10g are having Enterprise Manager in its installation pack.If you are thinking of the java-based OEM Console, then by 11g it is definitely gone.
