Dump import seems hanging/not progressive

Aloha!
I have a 48GB data pump dump import. For the past 48 hours, the import is still going on at this point..
. . imported "SCHEMA_NAME"."T_NAME" 0 KB 0 rows
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/GRANT/OWNER_GRANT/OBJECT_GRANT
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/INDEX/INDEXand the import was set at this setting..
system/******** schemas=s_name TRANSFORM=SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTES:N TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE directory=BW_TEMP
dumpfile=DPname.dmp logfile=imp1.log If the import is running at this, with this size of dump file, is this normal? If not what part should i check and alter?
Thanks in advance for the forthcoming help.
Regards

  • Datapump network import from 10g to 11g database is not progressing

We have an 11.2.0.3 shell database in RedHat Linux 5 64-bit platform, and we are pulling data from its 10g database (10.2.0.4) HP-UX platform using datapump via NETWORK_LINK. However, the import seems to be not progressing and completing. We have left it run for almost 13 hours and did not even import a single row to the 11g database. We even try to import only one table with 0 rows but still it is not completing, the logfile just continue to be lopping on the following:
    Worker 1 Status:
    Process Name: DW00
    State: EXECUTING
Estimate in progress using BLOCKS method...
    Job: IMP_NONLONG4_5
    Operation: IMPORT
    Mode: TABLE
    State: EXECUTING
    Bytes Processed: 0
    Current Parallelism: 1
    Job Error Count: 0
    Worker 1 Status:
    Process Name: DW00
    State: EXECUTING
    We also see this:
    EVENT SECONDS_IN_WAIT STATUS STATE ACTION
SQL*Net message from dblink 4408 ACTIVE WAITING IMP_NONLONG4_5
    Below is our par file:
    NETWORK_LINK=DATABASE_10G
    DIRECTORY=MOS_UPGRADE_DUMPLOC1
    LOGFILE=imp_nonlong_grp-4_5.log
    STATUS=300
    CONTENT=DATA_ONLY
    JOB_NAME=IMP_NONLONG4_5
    TABLES=SYSADM.TEST_TBL
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks a lot for all who have looked and responded to this, I appreciate you giving time for suggestions. As a recap, datapump export and import via dumpfile works on both 10g and 11g databases, we are only having issue pulling data from the 10g database by executing datapump network import (using dblink) from the 11g database.
SOLUTION: The culprit was the parameter optimizer_features_enable='8.1.7' that is currently set on the 10g database, we have taken that out of the parameter file of the 10g database and network import worked flawlessly.
HOW DID WE FIGURE OUT: We turned on a trace to the datapump sessions and trace file shows something about optimizer (see below). So we have taken one by one any parameter that has something to do with optimizer and found out it was optimizer_features_enable='8.1.7' parameter that when removed makes the network import successful.

  • Import DNG Hang Problem with OSX not with Win 7

I installed LR4 on both my Mac Pro and Win7 machines for comparison purposes and have encountered a problem with importing files and converting to DNG format with OSX that is not present with Win7.
    OSX machine
first gen Intel MAC Pro + 8GB memory multiple disks OSX 10.7.2
Win7 Machine - latest set of MS patches installed
Sandy Bridge Processor I5 2500K + 8GB memory multiple disks
    On both machines:
I am importing 12 test images taken with my Nikon D300 and using a Kingston USB card reader
Copying to a data only disk that does not contain the catalog
Convert to DNG with copy to a sub-directory
Renaming the files to DSC_0001.DNG sequence format
    Standard Previews
    Dont import suspected duplicated enabled
    No develop settings
Metadata with a simple copyright statement
OSX seemed to import the 12 DNG's ok as they all showed up on the Library grid screen... but the import seemed to hang before completion and no CPU was being consumed - this was prior to the previews being generated
I waited for 10 minutes with no CPU activity and then cancelled the Lightroom task, at that point LR4 generated the previews and everything looks fine, I can modify the DNG images and everything seems normal with them
With Win7 everything went as expected and completed in under 1 minute
I have screen shots available and I can reproduce this behaviour consistently on OSX

    UPDATE - Further testing
I tried to import the images into LR3 and it worked fine on OSX (I don't have LR3 on WIN7)
However when under LR4 the hanging problem also occurs if I do a straight copy as well (ie: Dont convert to DNG format)

  • Copy and import photos Hang

When importing NEF's from a Nikon D700 on 16GB Sandisk (Extreme Pro, 90MB/s, UDMA6) via Firewire 800 I get an occasional hang on import.  The progress bar fills but never disappears and the card is not ejected.  Clicking the x next to the progress bar cancels the task and ejects the card (the card is set to eject after import).  The import seems fine otherwise.  A small issue in the scheme of things. Some details:
    MacBook Pro
    OSX 10.6.8
    2.2 GHz Core i7
    8GB Ram

It does not work! This occurred since I upgraded to the iOS7 software on my iPhone. Apple claims it's an Adobe problem

  • Lightroom 4.3 import issues - hangs

Anybody got a clue why this behaves so badly??
Very consistent and very annoying bug....have about 20,000+ images on my laptop HD. Desire to use LR to catalog and organize, etc. On some folders import runs fine. On others it just hangs, with no error message, and does not 'crash' LR.....it just hangs and does nothing. I have waited for 30 minutes to see if it is just 'busy', but nothing. The progress bar also shows no progress, or stops half way and hangs. Upon searching the forums I see this is a consistent complaint about LR in general, but most of the other reported problems are with external media. My issue is with images spinning on the internal HD. I checked folders that 'hung' consistently and with my other program, ACDSee, it builds thumbnail pages and opens the images just fine. The metadata also appears normal (Nikon D80 and D7000 images mostly...NEF and JPG)
Win7 Pro, Lenovo laptop w/4GB memory. Help....or I'm getting my money back. This is ridiculous behavior for s/w this expensive, from a reputable company, for a simple function like opening an image and interrogating the metadata, etc....wasting my time, which is valuable.
    UPDATE:
Just tried importing from an SD card. This does not work either. Images from a D7000. Initially the import screen showed thumbnails, but after creating a new directory in the target folder, the thumbnails would not display, and import simply hangs with no error or crash. When I cancel the import I get a message that says "no photos or videos were found to import" (and...yes...they were all selected)

Looks like I found the problem....VIDEO files are what causes the hanging upon import. ANY 'supported' video file (AVI, MOV, MP4, etc.) cause the import to gack. To test this I built a temp directory with a mix of JPG, DCR, NEF, TIF image files and WMV, MOV, AVI, MP4 video files. The WMV it simply ignores since it is not supported. If any of the supported file types are 'seen' the import preview thumbnails will not draw, and the import will hang. If you simply change the file extension on a video, then re-initiate the import, it imports all images OK, and ignores the unknown file type (i.e. it does not open the files and interrogate them if the extension is not known - the smart thing to do). I also checked the CODEC used in several of the video files and it is supported, so I dont think it is a CODEC issue. You would think if LR saw a file it did not understand, it would simply ignore it (e.g. a supported file extension with an unsupported CODEC inside). In my professional opinion this is a serious bug and needs to be addressed. I also installed the latest version of QuickTime and tried the test folder with just a single MOV video and it still hung. This is really stupid behavior.....I'm quite surprised that Adobe's QA team did not find this bug (file type smarts are pretty basic stuff....), so there must be something quite unique to my Windows box which has LR tied up in knots....
The final test was to cleanse my image folder tree of all videos, then import the entire tree of about 7000 images (about 20GB) in several hundred different folders. It chugged through the import without a problem (took ~10 min). This whole mess only killed several days of my time. I'll send Adobe the bill for my time.....

  • Re: (forte-users) Hi - Query on XML Import document -Hang

Double check that your XML is valid. I've seen
importDocument hang when I'm missing an end tag.
    I don't think it's a validating parser.
Of course, there's no documentation, so.... :)

Well, Forte have agreed to release a patch for the XML bug on DG Unix with
Forte Version 3.0.M.2. I've attached a related mail with this.

Well not really. One way to check if the xml is valid is to open it in IE
5.0. If its well formed then it will show up otherwise it will give you an
error. Also the document object is not the best code that came out of Forte
and has errors, so this might be a bug you will have to report. And they
are not giving any new patches until 3.5 comes out in 2 months.

If the XML is invalid it should fail on all boxes. This should be a sequent
    specific problem.

Double check that your XML is valid. I've seen
importDocument hang when I'm missing an end tag.
    I don't think it's a validating parser.
Of course, there's no documentation, so.... :)

  • Sharepoint 2013 Active Directory Import- Manager field not updating

    Hi,
SharePoint 2013 Active directory import  -Manager field not updating
    Concern/Issue-
We are using SharePoint and configured the Active Directory Import .First import it seems everything is working fine and OOB Organization chart  built using User profile data is coming out right.
Now the user is moved from one Organization Unit to Another.
Now our Manager field is not Updating .There is change in AD manager attribute but not reflecting in the SharePoint User profile.
Manger field is mapped to "manager" attribute in SharePoint.
We tried removing the user and Re-Import using Incremental import but no luck.
    Thanks for help in advance
    Sachin

Moving a user from one OU to another in AD won't normally change the Manager attribute in AD.  You would need to edit the user's organization settings to change the manager value in AD.  I've also seen these changes not be picked up unless something
other than just the manager field in AD changing.  Try changing something like Office location and see if the manager change is picked up by AD Import.

  • FDM Excel Import Issue - Data not loading.

I cannot get an excel mappping table to load to FDM. I am working on the Entiy dimension. I noticed a few things when trying to trouble shoot this. If you delete a record, the excel file will load that one entity back to the mapping table with the changes from the excel file. Also, if I delete the table and load a new mapping table with excel it will add the first record. The only thing that changes on the new load is the data key. I could not find anything in the Oracle forum on this.
When you manually load this data you do not add the sequence number, which seems to be always zero , the data key, which seems to be incrementing itself some how(but not sequentially) , and the partion key and dimname , which appear to not change. I was assuming that the issue was in the way I was adding this other data. I am obviiously new to FDM, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    I am facing similar issue.
I am trying to map ICP Entries using an excel file.
I have made 2 mapping (explicit) entries, manually and exported it in Excel and then added all the Mappings in the same file, in proper format. when I am importing, I am not getting any error but the mapping is not getting updated and the new entries are also not getting added. so Ideally no Change in the tDatamap table.
Environment details: FDM Version 11.1.1.3 is getting used. Target App is Essbase 11.1.1.3. able to connect to Essbase, no issues with connectivity.
    Has anyone face this issue.

  • MFL: The dependency is not configured in schema resource. Possible reason one or more import/include is not set   correctly.

    HI Friends,
I have a created a MFL to transform XML to Non XML format. When am generating a XSD out of this MFL am getting this Error:
The dependency is not configured in schema resource. Possible reason one or more import/include is not set
    correctly.
Here is the snippet of the XSD:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
              xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

              elementFormDefault="qualified">
        <xsd:import namespace="http://www.bea.com/mfl"/>........
Later Part i have searched for mfl.xsd in com.bea.wli.core.mflengine_1.x.x.x.jar in my.........../Oracle_OSB1/modules  and imorted this XSD into my eclipse workspace.
Then i added the schemalocation attribute to the Import element. which looks something like below:

        <xsd:import namespace="http://www.bea.com/mfl" schemaLocation="../../mfl.xsd" />......
After doing these changes also am getting the same error... can anyone help me out of this????

    Hi Arun,
Also in SB console we can refer xsds from other projects but again OEPE doesnt seem to support that we will have to make duplicate copies of the resources in each project. It is not like that if you are using OEPE then you can not refer resources from other projects. Just what you need to do is that give relative path of the resource which is there in the file system. It does not matter that to which project it belongs. Yes, now with OEPE, you have to do this manually.

  • Imported xsd's not installed in Service Registry

    Folks:
I am using the AIA2.2 vmware image. I am wondering why and how core xsd's are not searchable in Services Registry (Business Service Control). First, the import statement of an xsd like "invoice.xsd" has a realtive path in it like "../../../../CommonComponents.xsd". Obviously, this is invalid when you import the schema into a JDEV project. One would think that the xsd's would be available in a services registry and have a http location to be of any use so JDEV can add an invoice schema to a project and be able to build a mapping. Without the ability to see these imports, JDEV chokes on the invoice.xsd and you cannot do a simple thing like transform one variable into another.
What am I doing wrong here? Why are things like "CommonComponents.xsd" not searchable in the services registry? This looks like a big oversight because I wonder how anyone can use a xsd that has imports which are not visible to JDEV (at least without hacking the file system to find the core component). The steps to rep[roduce are simple:
    1) Create a BPEL project (Asynchronous)
    2) Create a UDDI connection to Services Registry (BSR)
    3) Add any xsd that imports "CommonComponents.xsd" to your BPEL project
    4) Try to change the payload of the request or response message for the BPEL project to one that takes my imported xsd such as invoice
    5) JDEV will give you an error because it does not have access to the imported schema and thus cannot interpret the types correctly and therefore you cannot do step 4 above or even do an XSLT mapping.
    Thanks

So, my oversight -- you can view these xsd's properly by simply accessing them via Apache url which is the better way to go. They are, in fact, in the registry albeit the search feature does not seem to function properly.
In any case, just putting this in the thread so others find it easier to do AIA development from the start.

  • Quick Time video import problem (MXPro, not 8)

I first posted this a few days ago, the help I received has
not been too useful, though, so I'm trying again.
I've got a flash file (.fla) whose purpose is to create a
playable movie slide to be used in another flash presentation. It
is a template, and inteded to take many different movies and
publish them as swfs for this other presentation.
I've done this successfully about ten times, by importing the
source movie (a quick time .mov) into my .fla file library, then
dragging the movie clip object that gets generated to the stage of
the .fla file. Finally, I publish the result as an swf and can use
    it in the other presentation.
I just tried doing this with a new movie, about 3 minutes in
length, and it failed spectacularly. The movie file appears to be
imported, I am walked through the whole import wizard and a
progress bar shows the movie being imported, but once it is listed
in the library, it is apparent that it isn't actually a movie.
There is no preview playback button shown in the library preview
window, and publishing the file gives a movie that shows only the
first frame and doesn't play back.
I am using flash MXPro 2004, so flash 7, not flash 8. I've
been told I need to convert the .mov to a .flv, but that appears to
be a proceedure in flash 8, so it doesen't apply here. Does anyone
out there have an idea why this might be failing?
    Extra info:
    OS: Mac G5 OS 10.3.9
Movie: 15 fps .mov encoded with Sorenson Codec, duration 3-4
    minutes
Flash: MXPro, flash 7, ActionScript used
    Thanks,
    C

Open in QT Pro, export using expert settings and pick H264. Or open in MPEG Streamclip (free) and export to MPEG-4 and pick one of the iPod or iTunes presests.
If you just open and save it you are contiually saving it with the same codec. You have to export it to change the codec.

  • Import process hangs indefinately on JPG and AVI files

    Hi,
I'm seeing a similar issue to some of the other posts.
My configuration is Windows 7 x64, 4GB RAM and a Core i7. All the photos I want imported have been moved to the C drive.
When I try to import a folder with a couple of sub-folders containing a total of about 3000 JPG and AVI files (from a CANON 450D and Fuji Finepix 200EX), the import process hangs inderfinately, and I need to kill the process.
Only around 500 photos get imported.
One strange thing is that I am only able to preview a couple of the files in the preview grid. However when selecting to view a single file instead of the grid view I am able to view the file in question.
I have tried to import one file at a time (for a couple of the ones that fail that is) but the import process still hangs, even though I am able to view the file itself before import.
Have also tried only JPG files, same result.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

What happens if you try to copy these files to your iMac first? Your problem may not be that applications quit when opening but rather you're having problems simply accessing the disk.
If your external disk was formatted as NTFS by your Windows machine then your Mac will not be able to write back to the disk. Your applications may be attempting to save temporary or permanent files back to the disk. Verify this by going to the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac". Click the "More Info..." button. Under the Hardware section on the left, look for your drive. It's probably under ATA. Select your drive and look at the "File System". If it is formatted as NTFS, you can copy the files to your iMac, and use the Disk Utility to reformat the drive to a Mac or MS-DOS format.
This could also be a symptom of disk corruption. You can begin troubleshooting by using the Disk Utility found in /Applications/Utilities to verify/repair your disk. If Disk Utility finds problems but is unable to fix them, you can purchase third party tools such as DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro to attempt to repair your disk.
    Hope this helps! bill

  • IPhoto 6 - Import issue, hangs at end

Folks, any help with this would be much appreciated.
I installed iLife 06 and all went well, other than the "recovered photos" issue which others have mentioned - no biggie as there were only 3.
But I have a problem now when importing from disc (HD or CD) - in that the import goes ahead, but freezes at the end. iPhoto doesn't freeze - you can look at folders / the library etc.. while the import process is hanging - and interestingly the library does include the photos within the import which has hung.
The import will hang for ages (hours, not seconds), and I can't stop it using the stop import button, nor can I quit iPhoto (hoping it will tidy up).
After 30mins+ of waiting, a couple of times, I've force-quit iPhoto. When opening again, the pics aren't in the library - but looking with the finder they do all exist in the originals folder, and the data folder.
A total rebuild of the library fails to include the pics.
Anyone else had this? I'm a pretty vanilla user - I haven't mucked about in my old iPhoto 5 library at all etc...
One related question - the following files are in my iPhoto Library - judging by their dates (I installed iLife on Jan 24) and names, are some old iPhoto 5 files?
    Feb 5 22:17 AlbumData.xml
    Jan 24 20:37 Albums
    Feb 5 19:04 Data

    Feb 5 22:20 ThumbJPGSegment.data
    Feb 5 22:17 iPhoto.ipspot
    Jan 24 21:15 iPhotoLock.data
    Any suggestions appreciated

    Jonathan:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The albums folder is a carryover from the V4 days and is no longer useful. You can trash it. Albums are now identified and linked within the AlbumData.xml file with no aliases being used any more.
The Library6.temp is not normally in a library folder. It's probably left over from one of your forced quits and can be deleted.
How much free space do you have on your HD? Have you tried rebuilding the library? Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. I'd select the first three options.
