Duplex issue

Ok on our Rome switch 10.3.10.3. I have configured the speed for auto and the duplex as full for all interfaces. However when you look at the int status the duplex shows as a-full ? All other switches allow you to mix and match full duplex with auto speed. The only way you can get the switch to show full duplex is to configure the speed as 100. I think it could be an issue with the version of IOS on this switch as it is different to the rest. Actually it is slighty a newer version as wel. l c3550-i9q3l2-mz.121-22.EA1a instead of c3550-i9q3l2-mz.121-11.EA1.

OK, I got it wrong. Aparently they introduced the possibility of negotiated speed and fixed duplex in this very version. Here is the relevant section of the release notes:

HP LaserJet 4200 Duplexing Issue

I have a LJ 4200 with the duplexer. I can to long-edge duplexing without a problem, however, when I try to do short-edge duplexing the image on the page gets cut off 2/3 the way across the page.
All of my software is up to date, and I have the latest printer drivers installed.
Any ideas?

Is the computer it was installed on connected to the wireless network?
The computer being connected by Ethernet to the network is the most likely cause of the issue you are experiencing.

Duplexing issue when printing

We just switched to an HP printer and now we are having issues printing. We are working in InDesign CS5.5, on a Mac and when we try to duplex it prints the first page and then the second page prints separately and all black, almost like the connection is lost. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and we are still having this issue. They are claiming its a program issue with InDesign as I can duplex from other programs. Has anyone had this issue before?

Do you have an .eps file placed in your InDesign file? I've had issues with this in the past with our HP printer and duplexing. Re-save the .eps file as a .ai file and replace it in your Indesign document. That fixed the duplexing printing issue for me.
Of course, if you DON'T have an .eps file in your document I don't know what else to try — other than what Peter suggested.

Inline Duplex issues

Hi all
We are in the middle of a WAAS deployment across our network, we have deployed 7341's at our datacecntres using WCCP and 674, 574 and 274's at our branch sites using Inline.
10 Sites have been completed without issue using all of the above hardware models and connection methods however on our last install we attempted to install a 274 WAVE Inline and a small branch site. The WAVE sit's in between the onsite router which is a Nokia and 3750 Cisco Switch, both the switch port and Inlinegroup have been hard coded to 100/full and I was assured that the Nokia NIC port is also set to 100/full.
The devices have been cabled up in the following way:
Nokia Router to WAVE Inlineport 1/1/wan - Crossover
WAVE Inlineport 1/1/lan to Cisco 3750 Switch - Straight Through
Nokia Router Port - 100/Full
WAVE Inlinegroup - 100/Full
3750 Switch Port - 100/Full
When the WAVE was cabled in we found that we couldn't get a link, both the lan and wan inline links reported as being down. If I set the Inlinegroup to Auto the link then came up but we recieved the following error in the CMS:
eth_not_fduplex TIRWACMER-01 10.160.27.248 Major The interface InlinePort 1/1/wan,configured for auto negotiation,is not in full-duplex mode.
Im thinking there may be a compatability problem between the WAE and Nokia NIC cards? if the switch is plugged directly into the Nokia at 100/Full is is fine with now errors.

Hi Adam,
Few tests you may want to do if you have redundant pair of inline interface. Try using different inline pair on waas to rule out waas inline interface. if the second inline pair on waas also has same issues, means there is some incompatibility between waas and nokia nic.
if the second pari comes up fine, it may be a faulty NIC / inline pair on waas side.
On the other side, if you have a spare interface n Nokia FW, try chaning the interface on Nokia and verify if that works or not.

3750 12.2(25r)SEB & Broadcom cards = speed/duplex issue?

Hi,
I have a 3750 running 12.2(25r)SEB (image file is c3750-ipservices-mz.122-25.SEB2.bin).
We currently have a handful of new Dell boxes with Broadcom Nextreme 5700 gigabit network cards in them connected to the switch which seem to have a problem running at forced speed 100 duplex full set on both client and switch side.
The switchports don't have anything amazing in their config, simply:
switchport access vlan 125
speed 100
duplex full
spanning-tree portfast
We have proven that other types of network cards dont have a problem, one being an Intel card we have in a HP DL360.
Just wanted to know if anyone knows of any issues with this code regarding the problem I'm having.

there is a bug that might relate to your problem:
Problem Description:
Link connectivity may be lost on some of the ports of Catalyst 2970, 3560, and 3750
10/100/1000 interfaces when connected to some older Gigabit NIC cards.
This problem happens when connected to the following interfaces at 10Mbps/100Mbps:
3,4,7,8,11,12,15,16,19,20,23,24 on the xxxx-24T-E and xxxx-24T-S
3,4,7,8,11,12,15,16,19,20 on the xxxx-24TS-E and xxxx-24TS-S
Symptoms:
The interface is up/up, but Data connectivity is lost
Workaround:
1. Contact the NIC vendor to obtain a driver upgrade.
2. Connect the NIC to an interface not listed above.
3. Configure the interface for 1000Mbps instead of 10/100Mbps.
Can you check if that applies to you ?

Full Duplex issues

        Hello I am seeing a strange issue.
hope to get a little bit of advice on this.
There are two switches connected WS-C3560-48PS-S on one side and WS-C2960-24PC-S on the other side.
the interface configurations are as follows:

the problem is, the moment i am setting the fa 0/48 on the 3560 switch as a full duplex the interface goes down / down.
the moment i put it back to auto it comes up but the negotiation comes as half duplex and causes duplex mismatch.
Any pointers to fix this ?

Neo Platinum full duplex issue

Due to issues with the nforce boards and World of Warcraft I had to change my duplex setting from Autonegotition to Force Full Duplex 100mbit. The problem I found is that with this setting I can only get 300kbit download rates at best. If I go set the duplex to Force Half Duplex 100mbit, I'm back up to my full 4Mbit rate. Has anyone else seen this issue, or know any reason it should do this? Is there a problem for me to run at half duplex? I'm using a cable modem and comcast as my provider.

I used to use the 1.9 bios, as I remembered, the Full Logo screen could be disabled or enabled in the bios. If it couldn't, Then I suggest you clear cmos and load defaults to have another try. Or just directly upgrade the bios to the latest version.

The duplex issue in the Crystal report

I am developing Purchase Order print document. I have a Crystal Reports 9 for Visual Studio .NET. My program prints set of the P/Os and each of metioned P/O has its own Terms and Condition Information.(one-two pages of text information saved in Memo field). My crystal report's structure is following: Group1 Header: unique PO number; group header is printing on each page, it is only suppressed if the Terms and Condition Information is printed Details a: Some client information; Details b: Details for PO, for example Ship information; Details c: Subreport with Detail lines for PO; ... Details l: Summary amount Information for whole PO; Details k: Terms and Condition Information; it is printed on separate page Grout 1 Footer; there is a signature line for PO Could you please advise me if it possible and how to print Terms and Condition Information (Details k part) on each even page? Or maybe I need change structure of report? For example, I have PO that takes 3 pages and Terms and Condition Information takes 1 page. So, I would like to have report with 6 pages wit 3 duplex pages: 1: PO page 1; Terms and Condition 2: PO - continue page 2; Terms and Condition 3: PO - continue page 3; Terms and Condition 

Conditionially suppress the section usingÂ Remainder(PageNumber,2) = 1.Â That should suppress it for odd pages.Â If it doesn't, try the opposite.Â :)Â Make sure the section is at the same level as your PO grouping as we will need to have it repeat with each PO.

HP Laserjet M5035mfp duplex issue

Hi,
I have a LJ M5035mfp device. When sending a duplex job to the machine, one side of the page the print quality is fine. The other side of the page the printing is faded.
I have changed toner, fuser, duplex unit and transfer roller.
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Crystal Reports Duplexing issues after upgrading to SP5

Our Application Software Vendor uses Crystal Reports XI as their reporting tool. Recently we upgraded our application software which included upgraded from CR XI SP3 to SP5. Since then we've experianced problems printing some of the reports in DUPLEX mode. All our printers are set up to print DUPLEX by default. Since they upgrade, many of our reports have begun to print SINGLE SIDED even though EVERYTHING should print in DUPLEX. This only occurs if the report is to print to the users DEFAULT printer. If the user changes printers before running the report, it prints correctly in DUPLEX mode. I opened the reports in the CR designer and changed the preinter setting to select the DEFAULT printer. This worked in a couple of instances, but not for most of the reports. Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I create all Crystal reports using the HP III driver as the designeted printer and have for 10 + years.. It is the generic HP driver Seems to solve alot of printer problems that i have encountered reqardless of what printer they are actually using.
This is not used to replace the users print driver, just within the actual creation of the Reports.

I am having a half duplex problem with my Mac---OS 10.10.2
That is, when the party I FaceTime with is talking, they cannot hear me.
I can hear then other party when we both talk---it happens whether or not
I initiate the call or the other party does. It doesn't happen with my iPhone
on the same home wifi network. And it happens on the Mac when
the iPhone FaceTime is turned off too.

3825 and 3845 router duplex issue?

We are currently having a new 10Mbps "LANLink" service installed in our office. Our WAN provider terminates in our comms room on a Lucent MUX, which then connects via RJ45 Ethernet to our Cisco 3825 router.
Our provider has asked us to set our router to 10Mb/full duplex. However, when we do, the Gigabit Ethernet interface on our 3825 goes down. If I set the interface to autonegotiate, it resolves to 10/half. Traffic will run at 10/half, but with muchos collisions.
We have exactly that same problem at the other end of the line, on a 3845 router. The router interface will only come up when running half duplex.
The engineer has been in and proved to me that the Lucent MUX is running 10/full. We have also switched out the ethernet cables a number of times.
We have stabilised the line somewhat by running all Lucent and Cisco equipment at half duplex. But surely there's a fix for this?
The interface config is shown below. Can anyone tell me what the 'negotiate auto' line means - despite 'speed 10' and 'duplex half' commands elsewhere?

Thanks for posting.
That's why I was confused - the 'negotiation auto' was already in the config when the router arrived. I don't see why it's even necessary: surely it's either 'duplex half/full/auto' and 'speed 10/100/1000/auto'? Why do Cisco need to provide another command for 'negotiation?

OS 9 duplex issue

At the school I work at we have emacs that run os 9 and os x.
The ones running os 9 will only do 100 half-duplex. The same computer running os x will do 100 full-duplex. I have tried the duplexer tool, both versions, and neither works. The switches are set to 100 full-duplex and must stay that way. I dont have control.
Anyone know how to change them to full-duplex?
I have searched all over and cant seem to find anything that works.

The only computers that are having problems are the macs running os 9. The os x macs run just fine at forced 100 full, windows pcs run fine at forced 100 full. The os 9 macs are the only ones that dont have a selection for speed and duplex.
apple talk is inactive. no other protocols running, that I can tell. This is a novell network with windows and mac computers. Switches are set to forced 100 full-duplex.
When using the duplexor utility. It says the settings worked. But when I goto system profiler it shows the link is down with no speed or duplex setting.
Reboot resets it back to 100 half. Putting the file into the extensions leaves me with no network.
Did read on a page for a powerbook that said if the switch was not set to auto that the powerbook would sense the correct speed but default to half duplex. Same thing our macs are doing.

Ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is):
For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
Select the Device settings tab.
Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

Smartforms duplex (landscape) issue

I've develop new smartforms for goods receipt .

And for PAGE1 capacity only 10 item lines , and in every GR we found more than 10 item lines.
So my scenario like that i ve to print PAGE1 with 10 lines and back-back PAGE2 then next 10 lines again and back to back PAGE2. But because of PAGE2 next page PAGE1 after all completion it give one more page with headings only (blank page).
So assist me how to sort out this DUPLEX issue.

Try this out,
1. set the CONTRACT_OFFER next page attribute to CONTRACT_OFFER itself.So evenif the contract_offer main window goes beyond the first page, the same page type will be triggered.
2. Now at the point where your contract_offer related information ends in th main window and before the checklist related information starts, use a command node to dynamically set the next page attribute to CHECK_LIST. So at this point the CHECK_LIST page will be triggered and the CONTRACT data since it is over will not be displayed.
3. If check_list information also spans multiple pages then set the next page attribute for check_list page to check_list itself.
