Duplex Printing, needs pdf to end in even

Hi all,
i just started Designing forms in  LC and have designed a dynamic form  , i need some help on
this.
If the pdf ends with odd page how can i make it to end it with even (like adding a blank page if the pdf's end with odd number so as to make it end with an even number)
Thank you all

In the hierarchy view click on the Master Pages node. Under the printing tab in the Page Set tab choose "print on both sides". Now you can change the settngs for the odd/even placement on the page tab.

  • Duplex printing problem with Reader Upgrade

    I upgraded Acrobat Reader 10.1.8 to 11.0.4 and can no longer access fast or duplex printing for PDF's. I have a Canon MP970 printer for 3 years and have always been able to do both fast printing and duplex printing of PDF's.
    How do I resolve?

    I have an identical issue to neuegestaltung, but with an HP 5500. I can print single-sided to A3/tabloid successfully but when I try printing duplex the right quarter of the page is cut off on both sides - almost as if it thinks it's printing portrait.
    Applications affected include Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9, Adobe CS3 and CS4 applications including InDesign.
    Preview works fine, but of course the colour balance makes the output unusable.
    OS 10.6.2, print driver HP Color LaserJet 5500 v 3010.107.
    Using the Gutenprint driver I can't either do A3 or colour so there is no solution there.
    Worked fully and correctly with the same apps under 10.5.x.
    At the moment I am running Windows XP under VMWare to print from Acrobat, which is plainly silly.
    Any useful* observations, suggestions or workarounds welcome.
    *Needless to say, "It's Adobe's problem" or similar are not acceptable responses. It may well be an interaction between the Adobe's applications and Apple's printing system and/or driver of course; in that case the companies need to collaborate to solve the issue.

  • InDesign printing to PDF results in white "highlight" effect behind PLAIN black text.

    InDesign printing to PDF booklet spreads results in white "highlight" effect behind PLAIN black text. There are no text effects like drop shadows or transparency. Some of the text is in it's own shape above a semi-transparent shape, but not all.
    Exporting to PDF does not cause this problem, just printing to pdf. I cannot use the exported pdf as I need the full booklet spreads. Help!

    In addition to vinny38's advise to not print to PDF, you may not even need printer's spreads, unless you are printing this yourself. If you are sending this off press, the prepress team will want to do the imposition themselves. If you are printing to a network copier, some have the ability to do booklet printing from a multi-page PDF saved in single-page reader's spreads (one page for each page of the document, rather than two document pages for each PDF page).
    If you do need to print this yourself and if you have to impose it in InDesign, consider making a new document and placing the pages of your original document onto the pages of the new document, the way you would place any other images. You can decide where the pages have to go in order to get printer's spreads, and when you're done imposing, export as a PDF and print that PDF to your printer. You will get a better-quality PDF than printing to PDF.

  • NEED HELP with HP P1006 DUPLEX printing

    This printer has the ability to print duplex pages (manual).
    This is different from printing the odd pages and then the even pages to achieve two-sided pages.
    This affects me because I like to print 2-sided AND print 2 pages on each side and the manual odd/even trick messes up the page order because I will end up with the first and third pages on one side of the paper and the second and fourth pages on the other side. Essentially I was able to print 4 pages onto 1 sheet of paper.
    Please help me save paper!! I am a grad student and I do a lot of printing!!!
    Other information:
    1. I have the latest driver updates.
    2. I can see the option for two-sided printing but it is grayed out and set on "off"
    3. I know for a fact that my printer has this property-- it is marketed as having manual duplex printing (plus it worked fine with windows vista on my pc with the CD software)
    4. What I've learned so far is that the latest driver is not "clever" enough to enable the duplex printing and there are no plans to make it better WHICH I HOPE IT NOT TRUE!!!
    Please help genius or Apple gods.
    Thank you!

    rosh325,
    The HP Photosmart C4280 does support manual duplex printing (as do all of the devices). The request on this thread is specific to a special form of manual duplex printing that these devices used to support (but on the Mac your device does not). To get the Manual duplexing, you can Print Odd pages, take the paper out, place it back in your input tray, and then print even pages. Just take the whole stack from the output tray and place it so you can see the printing and its right side up when you put it in your input tray. (You may want to experiment with a small document just to make sure you have the workflow down).
    As for button support, install the full solution for your device from [here|http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=oj- 74785-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=3192753] and it should restore the button functionality.
    Just trying to help.

  • Duplex printing switches to single page at a certain point in pdf file

    Hi everyone,
    I have combined about ten separate pdf files into one complete pdf file for a client. The problem is that when they print the file using duplex printing, they're saying that at a particular point in the document it switches to single page printing instead of duplexing all the way through. It seems to be switching to this single page printing at the start of a particular section, ie. I mentioned that I had combined separate pdf files into the one document and it switches to the single pages where one of these separate documents start. I went back to the original Indesign file relating to this document and noticed that when I pdf this I can see the following in the range field that I assume is related to section numbering as the document contains sections:
    Range: +1-+12
    The other pdfs that were used to create the combined file also have sections but the abovementioned numbering doesn't appear in the Range section like the problematic pdf I mentioned above.
    Can someone tell me why the duplexing stops at this certain point? Does it have something to do with the section numbering as explained above? Also, I have tried to reproduce the issue from my end but mine is printing it perfectly well, i.e it duplexes all the way through, so could it be an issue with their printer or some setting they have? Or can I fix it somehow from my end by manipulating the original indesign file that has the sections?
    Really appreciate any help.

    It's probably on their Printer setup. Sometimes if you set print for duplex then another Operator comes in and uses the same printer and assumes it's simplex printing it can print duplex or whatever the previous print setting was used.

  • PDF Printing, need some advice

    Experts,
    Senario: I have created a small application which my business people use for printing file folder labels. The users enter the data they want, hit a button "Print Report". This fires an Oracle Report which spits out a PDF file with the labels on it. The user prints the PDF and applies the labels to the file folders.
    The physical labels do not have much leeway; if one field on the report is rendered inaccurately as much as 1/32 of an inch, the error will amplify on each progressive label until the last few labels on the print job are completely fubar. So the first label will be ok, the second one will be a little off, #3 will be even more so, etc.
    Problem: Oracle Report does not give me enough control over where the fields render. There are ~30 fields on this report. I need programmic control over where the fields on the report render. I also need to programmically rotate the fields on the report, so that they appear "tilted" 90 degrees.
    I have had very limited success doing this in Oracle Reports. I can do this using the GUI tools but it always comes down to me having to "eyeball" it, then try to adjust the properties. This is extremely tedious, and very error-prone. I am looking at doing this in PL/PDF, however my office's budget is very tight right now.
    Question: Will there be PDF printing in APEX v3? If so, how advanced will it be? I understand this may not be a fair question at this point.
    If v3 is going to have pretty good PDF reporting and printing capacity I can probably "get by" with what I have in Oracle Reports and wait til v3. However, if v3 will only have rudimentary PDF capability, I will make the case to my boss that we should get PL/PDF and use it.
    Feel free to shoot holes in what I'm doing; if you think I should stick it out with Oracle Reports and am just not using the tool correctly let me know.
    Dan

    Hello Dan,
    Basically, yes. I searched Google the other day, looking for a good technique for label printing, and using absolute position through CSS seems the consensus. The real hard work is not creating the CSS but compute all the necessary positions. I looked for a specific Avery template, and was able to find all the label positions. If your label sheet is a standard one, maybe you'll get lucky. If not, you'll need a good ruler.
    As for how to do it, I think the best way will be to create a report, based on a "Named Column (row template)" report template. This will give you the flexibility you need. The following can help you with that:

  • Need help in booklet printing a pdf???

    hi I have a pdf file with around 200 pages ...I am trying to print a book let out of it but the sequence of pages I need it only available if I select 4pages at a time other setting is duplex printing double sided....the sequence I need it on front page I need 1 and 4 and back 2 and 3..... but if select 8 pages then I get 1 and 8, 2 and 7 and so on ... I need like this
    1st page front 1&4
    1st page back 2&3
    2nd page front 5&8
    2nd page back 6&7
    please help me out ...I have tried many option but fail.....binding is from left

    Hi wasif005,
    Rather than printing a booklet, which is going to print the pages in such a way that they're in the correct order when folded/bound, what happens when you choose the "Multiple" option in the Print dialog box? You can determine how many pages are printed per sheet of paper, and then print duplex to print front/back. I think that may work for you...
    Best,
    Sara

  • How do I print a pdf to a pdf without my computer needing to restart?

    I work in the lending field, and the system we use to print out loan documents uses Adobe and has the documents in a fillable pdf.  Currently we print inside the program to pdf, and then once all documents are created we right click on the selected docs and choose "Combine Documents" to create the entire loan package.  Some of these documents are printed in the original system, and some are documents others have sent in via fax.
    Currently this is doing two things.  The system we are using to do the loan application and print the documents freezes up regularly.  And secondly when I print fillable pdf documents that are outside the program I go to File -> Print and the print options never come up so I have to restart my computer before I can print to anything at all.  These two issues are sporadic and not all the time.
    I have been told this is because Adobe never designed the program to allow printing a pdf to a pdf document and does not want this happening, so I tried saving the documents instead of printing them but then there are issues with the data entered into the fillable spots changing (we often have multiple of the same fillable pdf being merged and it changes the account number on all the forms to the account number on the first form).  We need a way to keep the data entered in the way it was entered.
    Can anyone suggest a better way to take fillable pdf documents from one program and keep the data entered while combining them all together?  Is it possible the printing the pdf to another pdf is why the computer is having all these issues?  Please note we have been doing the documents this way for 3 years and this just started happening.  We are on Adobe Acrobat X Standard; version 11.0.06 if that helps.  I am a little lost as a to where to go from here.

    In Acrobat Pro flatten the form fields of the documents. After this combine the documents.

  • Auto duplex printing on MX922 won't double side print PDF's that my old MP560 did. what can I do?

    My MP560 got the dreaded B200 code, meaning get a new printer. Hesitated to buy another Canon, but the MX922 had all the features I was looking for. Easy set up, but first problem was printing from the internet, 922 wanted to use paper in the top tray not the letter size in lower try. Had to save doc. as PDF then print that, 560 did this without any extra work. Auto duplex is way to complicated and haven't got it to work yet. 560 duplex print was selected from print dialog box. Anyone have any helpful suggestions. I am thinking of returning the printer.

    This YouTube video solved the problem for me.

  • I need to able to print a pdf that is locked.  It has fields to fill in but then to save a copy I need to "print" to PDF not save as a pdf because that is not an option with the document.  Is there a way to do this?

    The PDF has fields to fill in but then to save a copy I need to "print" to PDF not save as a pdf because that is not an option with the document.  Is there a way to do this?  HELP!

    Sorry I thought  was just a one off, it would be no use for large volumes.
    Do you not have this avaiable in the print menu in Preview with these documents?
    I have also found a link on the Adobe web site that discusses that this facilty is enabled by the creater of the PDF.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd61510979419 5ff-7e0d.w.html
    If you do a web search there are various claims on how to save a protected PDF, I have'nt a way to test the proceedures. I would want a copy of any forms that I sent off, not sure why they protect them in this way, there must be a reason.

  • "AcroRd32.exe  /t" print a PDF document ( print only, no need to open )

    I'm using the following command to print a PDF document:
    "D:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /t "D:\R104-20071025165656.pdf" "\\192.168.0.4\hp" "hp LaserJet 1000" "\\192.168.0.4\hp"
    Now it works fine! But I have more request:
    I want a command that only send the file to printer and no need to open the PDF file on local system.
    So anybody can help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    My program is a desktop application, no a web application. It's not the same as you. And hope the following codes can help you :)

  • Need to print a pdf on button click

    Hi,
    I need to do something similiar to what the code is doing below, except I need to create a button that when clicked will print a pdf. Not sure if it is better(easier) to add the pdf to my library and print that way or just upload the pdf to the server and print that.
    anyway here is the code I have sofar. Not sure exavtly what I need to change/modify.
    package com.wiley.as3bible.printing {
        import flash.display.Sprite;
        import flash.text.TextField;
        import flash.text.TextFieldAutoSize;
        import flash.net.URLLoader;
        import flash.net.URLRequest;
        import flash.events.Event;
        import flash.printing.PrintJob;
        import flash.display.SimpleButton;
        public class Printing extends Sprite {
            private var _printableContent:Sprite;
            private var _textField:TextField;
            private var _loader:URLLoader;
            public function Printing() {
                //Load the text from a text file
                _loader = new URLLoader();
                _loader.load(new URLRequest("http://www.rightactionscript.com/samplefiles/lorem_ipsum.txt"));
                _loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler);
                //Create a multiline text field that autosizes.
                _textField = new TextField();
                _textField.width = 400;
                _textField.multiline = true;
                _textField.wordWrap = true;
                _textField.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
                //Create a sprite container for the text field,
                //and add the text field to it.
                _printableContent = new Sprite();
                addChild(_printableContent);
                _printableContent.addChild(_textField);
            //When the text loads add it to the text field and  then print the text
            private function completeHandler(event:Event):void {
                _textField.text = _loader.data;
                var printJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
                if (printJob.start()) {
                    printJob.addPage(_printableContent);
                    printJob.send();
    I know the button code should be something like:
    Printbtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,startPrint);
    thanks in advance for any help.

    I see what you are saying. I think I am going about this the wrong way. Really all I need is to upload the pdf to the server, since it is already created, and then in AS3 create a link that will be clickable and will download the pdf, in which case they can just print the download. I know how to do this in HTML, but not AS. Basically, it needs to be the equivalent of <a href="PathtoPDF_File">Click to download file</a>.
    also I have a message window already coded, and within this message window is where I need to add the link:
    package exam {
        import flash.display.*;
        import flash.events.*;
        import flash.text.*;
        //this class is used to create a "pop-up" window to ask users to confirm they want to exit (after clicking
        //exit exam button), and then to report back on how the submission went, and offer to resend if necessary
        public class MessageWindow extends Sprite {
            //VARIABLES
            private var feedback:TextField;
            private var confirm:YesBtn;
            private var quit:CancelBtn;

            public function MessageWindow (type:String, unanswered:Number=0, score:Number=0) {

    in the else if(type =="success") part in the feedback.text ="" is where I need the link to go.
