Duplex Printing on 2605 in Windows 7

I have a 2605dn color laser jet.  It handles duplex printing fine with XP computers but does not provide an option to select duplex prinitng with the Windows 7 computers.  I have tried installeing the drivers that came with my PC (an HP) and also checked for updated drivers.  Anyone have any suggestions how to get duplex pringing working on Windows 7 computers?  Thanks

HP and Microsoft are diasspointing in their leadership of product ingenuity, customer focus, progress and customer satisfaction. I recently upgraded to  Windows 7 Operating system in disappointment of the failed Windows  VISTA operating system. As a consequence I needed upgrade my  HP 2605dn driver, in particular to have the option of duplex printing. This action was only met with finding that Windows 7 does for the 2605dn driver does not support duplex printing. What company in the the world is not supporting duplex printing, in their operating system to  be able for the "CUSTOMER" who wants to save paper in the name of a "GREEN" enviironment? I work for a company that has eliminated HP as a preferred supplier of thier printing devices, daily support of paper, toner and other printing support. There is a reason for this: Basically you are devoid of any concern for you customers whether they are  business consumers, non-business consumers or the like.
People need their printing options regardless of what their sector of the market is.
Based upon the ~ $500 I paid today for getting my HP toners to get back on line, I will never buy another HP Printer again. By the way I bought and EPSOn to bridge the gap. See ya.

  • HP LaserJet 1320 Duplex Printing Not working with Windows 7

    Hi
I've just bought a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have an HP LaserJet 1320 printer (Prod no. Q5927A, SN CNGW53RLRY).
I cannot find driver that works the same way as the previous driver HP LaserJet PCL5. If I use this driver and can still get duplex printing but it will only print one copy at a time.
If I upgrade to HP Universal Printing PLC (or PLC v5) I can print multiple copies but not duplex printing. I have searched high and low through the HP site but to no avail.
Any help and advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I've seen this same issue with my printers (other HP printers) whereby the default setting to support the Duplexing hardware was set to 'off'.
A quick method to check this is look at what the setting is for Duplex hardware in the Device Settings tab, and if it's not set, correct it.
      Printer Properties:
From the 'Start' orb -> [Devices & Printers] -> right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printer Properties' -> click on 'Device Settings' tab.
You should see a dialog similar to the mine (attached): look for the 'Duplex unit (for 2-sided printing)' and see if it's set to "Not Installed":
--> in either case, click on 'Not installed' and from the dropdown box, select 'Installed'... Click 'OK' to accept the changes and close the dialog.
    Printing Preferences:
again, right click on your Printer icon -> select 'Printing Preferences' -> click on 'Advanced' tab.
-->Check to see if there is a 'Duplex Hardware' or '2-sided printing' option in here: mine doesn't show one but thougth I'd mention it nonetheless.
Click on the 'Finishing' tab and select 'Print on both sides'...or simply test print a multi-page document and set those preferences on-the-fly.
Let me know if this helps...

  • Duplex printing. No dialog window on the HP LaserJet 1020

I'm running WinXP Pro, but I think it doesn't matter so much, because I've used duplex printing on it for a year without any problems. But now the dialog window, which must appear while using duplex printing is gone
When the Print on both sides instruction dialog window appears on the PC's monitor, follow the instructions, says the Duplexing Manual.
How to solve it, please help

Victory at last.  OK, in case there is anyone out there who still has this (and start up no start) problems.
    1. Delete the HP 1020 printer software via the Printers box from Control Panel (Visa 32 bit OS).
To do this, right click on the HP 1020 printer image, open the box, click on delete to remove the old driver & printer.
    2. Go to HP 1020 site and find software downloads (words to that effect).
    3. Download most recent driver (it is a plug and play driver -- currently [2-2011] there are 3 choices, this one is on top)
    4. Install this driver.  It will take a few minutes to complete
    5. Plug in the printer and power up.
6 Once the dialogue box on the task bar says the printer is installed it's time to restart (if you look in the Printers Menu you probably won't find the printer. Don't panic yet)
    7. Restart
    8. Now look in the Printer Menu again. You 1020 should be there.
    9. Test and good luck.
If this isn't the exact sequence for your computer, try a variation. The plug and play doesn't work on top of old software. Clear that old dog out and install the latest [Nov 2010 date] driver first, then plug in, then restart your computer.
Too Bad HP didn't publish this "fix" or even explain it on its woebegotten website. You can't drag this stuff up with a search engine.  Next time you shop printers, tell the salesperson you deserve a big price break for putting up with all of this nonsense from HP.

  • Default Duplex Printing - Adobe Reader 11

    Hello,
I recently installed Adobe Reader 11. I notice that, while the default for my Brothers duplex printer is set in WINDOWS 7 64 bit to Duplex, the Adobe Reader "Print" screen is displayed with the "Print on both sides of paper" box unchecked. If I check it, the printer does the duplex printing correctly.
My question is: why is Adobe Reader 11 overriding my duplex print option setting in Windows, and is there any way to correct this?
    Thanks

    Hi Atul,
thanks for your response. It turns out the problem is not restricted to Adobe Reader, but also seems to be happening with other Windows programs (like Firefox).
My printer is a Brother HL-5370DW which is network connected. I have set up the print preferences (using the Windows Control Panel Devices and Features) so the default is Duplex printing; however, when I go to print from any Windows program (including Adobe Reader), the preferences box shows Duplex is not set per the default. If I change it to Duplex, it works fine - just curious why the Default Duplex setting isn't used.
Any ideas would be appreciated - and thanks for your help....

  • How can I cause HP Mobile Printing print jobs to default to duplex printing?

I purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8620 a few days ago--for use with my Windows 7 PCs. I want all print jobs to default to two-sided (i.e., duplex) printing.
I used Windows' Devices and Printers to access the printer's preferences. I selected "Two-sided (Duplex) Printing" as the Printing Shortcut. This causes all print jobs from Windows to default to two-sided printing.
(Side-point: I notice that all of the printing shortcuts have padlocks on them; if I change any of the properties, a new entry ("User Specified Print Settings") is created; I press the Cancel button to avoid creating the new entry.)
Then I opened a 10-page PDF on an Android device and printed it using HP Mobile Printing (i.e., the HP Print Service Plugin on my Android device). The plugin interface has limited print options; duplex isn't one of them. The printer did not print the PDF duplexed!
How can I cause *all* print jobs (including those from HP Mobile Printing) to default to duplex printing?

    Hi,
There are several different printing solutions available for Android, such as HP's built-in print solution for Android, the HP ePrint mobile app, HP's built-in print solution for Android, etc..
As much as I aware, none will allow setting duplex printing as default, still.. mobile printing is more limited than a standard PC..
The HP plugin allow printing to a printer connected to the same local network from several apps which support the plugin, its features are limited as included in my previous link.
The HP ePrint mobie app allow printing to both a printer connected to the same network or via the cloud using the HP ePrint service to print even when the Android device is not connected to the same network as the printer.
As well there is a new 3rd party service, the Mopria Print Service which allow printing from specific apps through the local network, it should be quite similar to HP's built-in print solution for Android
The following document list different printing solutions available for Android and can be viewed as a reference:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03679829&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=e...
The following document also list different prinitng solutions for Apple or Android devices and include a description of any of the options I included above:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03722645&tmp_task=setupCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...
I surely do not mean to confuse you, but would like to provide you any of the options (Yes, I know, it is quite a confusing field..) and worth trying if it may allow changing the default settings, I personally not aware so it worth trying..
    Hope that helps,
    Shlomi

  • Automatic Duplex Printing not working on HP Color LaserJet 3600DN in Windows 7. It worked before.

I have an HP color laserjet 3600 DN on Windows 7.  This computer came w/ Windows Vista and a 3600DN driver was installed and the computer was upgraded to Windows 7.  The printer did automatic duplex printing.
At one point, my computer indicated that it could no longer find the printer.  In an effort to solve this problem, I uninstalled the printer. When I tried to reinstall the printer the computer could not find the driver. At that point I tried to download a windows 7 CLJ 3600 DN driver.  Since HP doesn't provide this driver for Windows 7, I tried to download the Windows Vista driver for 3600DN.
However, when I go to the appropriate webpage by following the links, only drivers for Color Laserjet 3600 are listed (no 3600DN drivers).
As far we can tell it only allows Manual Duplex printing (no automatic duplex printing).  Clicking the "Two Sided Duplex Printing" option is there but only works when the "print on both sides (Manual)" is set on the Finishing page.  If manual is turned off, then it becomes single sided.
Can I get a driver that will allow me to do automatic duplex printing on on my HP CLJ 3600 DN using Windows 7?

How did you replave the duplex belt? How to deassemble the backside of a officejet and click the new belt on? I can't see nor do it y self

  • HP Laserjet 1018, Word 2007 on Windows XP - Duplex printing alignment

HP Laserjet 1018, Word 2007 on Windows XP
Want to Print a book on both sides of A4 paper. I am printing one page per
    page (not the book mode).
If I print single sided, the top of the page (e.g. header text) on odd and
even pages are aligned. When I print duplex mode, odd pages print fine but
the even pages are shifted down. Thus the header text are not aligned.
I think this is more a problem with the way the printer is managing duplex
printing. While printing in duplex mode, the printer first prints in reverse (with bottom of
the page as ref) to enable placement of the output sheets back into the input
tray without rotation. Is this messing up the alignment?

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

  • Photosmart 7160 Duplex Printing Out of Paper Side 2 Intermittent Windows 7 USB

The printer works fine on XP but 75 percent of the time it fails on Windows 7. I have a removable drive so I can switch back and forth between XP and Windows 7. Symptom: Let's say I want to print 10 documents. Each document is 1 1/2 pages long. I command it to print 10, duplex, fast draft, copies. Usually the first document will print double sided. The second document will fail to reverse the paper after printing the first side. The paper will continue forward to the end of the output tray. Since the paper did not reverse and go into the flip over device, I now get and Out of Paper error and must manually hit the OK button on the printer. It then feeds the next (!) sheet of paper from the input tray. So it takes me 10 minutes to print the 10 documents with only 2 or 3 of them actually being double sided. It would normally take less than 2 minutes for 10 duplex sheets at draft quality. When I boot from my XP drive everything works fine. It seems like the motor that reverses the paper never actually goes into reverse. I have removed the flip over device and cleaned everything in sight including the contacts. There are about 30 drivers listed in Properties. The first one says HPD7100T.GPD 6.10.2009 .

  • How to duplex print pdf file on hp 1320 using upd pcl5 on windows 7 ?

I am running Windows 7 Professional (64bit), with a HP laserjet 1320 using driver HP UPD PCL5 (v5.5.0.12834), with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v9.5.2 and MS Word 2010. When I print a Word 2010 file I can choose duplex printing (print on both sides) and everything works fine. However, when I open a PDF file, click FILE then PRINT then PROPERTIES the PRINT ON BOTH SIDES option shows "none" and no other option is shown. I searched Adobe support and it says duplex printing is controlled by the printer driver, not Adobe software. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the UPD PCL 5 driver two times already but still the same problem of not being able to choose duplex printing for any PDF document - yet it works for MS Word. Any ideas ? Thanks

What do I need to do in order for my DeskJet 6980dt to automatically duplex print without manually  inserting the paper?  Prior to changing my OS from XP to W-7 the printer would duplex print when I changed the "properties" but since installing W-7 "properties" does not provide me with that option.

Windows 7 is a supported operation system for Office 2010. At what exactly point will you get the specific error?
Is that a Click-To-Run version of Office 2010? By default, for MSI-based version of Office, when you upgrade existing Office 2007 to Office 2010, the earlier version of Office will be removed:

  • HP Officejet J4500 duplex printing with Windows 8

I have an HP Officejet J4500 All-in-One printer that I purchased about 5 years ago when I was still using MS XP on an Off Brand computer. It worked fine and would print double-sided when I wanted to save paper on a larger print job. It would even show me on the PC moniter with an illustration when to turn the pages to do the back side printing. However, my old computer died last summer, so I upgraded to an HP computer (without the printer, since I had a good one already!), using the newest Windows 8 system. My problem is, the printer still woks perfectly EXCEPT for two-sided printing (and no helpful illustrations on the moniter!)  How do I fix that? Do I need to re-install the printer wizard or do a Windows 8 upgrade for the printer?

  • Connected Deskjet 6940 to computer with windows 7 64 bit, duplex print will not work?

I have a Deskjet 6940 model C8970A. The Duplex printer function does not work. It will manually ask me to turn around all the pages to print on the other side. Before it would print front then back of page at a time.  I have Windows 7 64 bit on the new computer.

    Hi,
The Duplex Unit is disabled by default, make sure to enable the accessory as following:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers
Right click the HP Deskjet 6940 icon, then click Printer Properties.
    Select the Device Settings tab.
Set the Duplex Unit as Installed, click OK.
Now set Print On Both Sides as Automatically from the Printing Preferences Dialog.

  • LaserJet 1200SE - how to duplex print? - Windows Vista

Today the experts will tell me what to do to print on both sides of the paper with my 10 year old, and still working very well, LJ 1200.  The software was apparently never updated to work with Vista.  There had been a suggestion to use a generic driver, but I couldn't get it to work.  - MisterMax

    Hi MisterMax,
I don't have a LJ 1200 SE in front of me,but I was able to install the 'in-OS' print drivers for this printer and found something that may help you (your milage may vary).
      I installed the HP LaserJet 1200 Series PS print driver on Vista, and opened the Printer Properties page;
        - Go tot 'Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Printers' and Right-Click on the printer icon (HP LaserJet 1200 Series PS).
I looked in the 'Device Settings' tab, and found that under 'Installable Options' the 'Duplex Unit (for 2-sided Printing):' was defaulted to 'Not Installed'.
-Try changing this setting to 'Installed'; then Apply/Saving this setting and Ok out of this dialog.
Now, see if your print job allows you/offers you the Duplex print option.
    ..... Hope this helps.
