Duplex Printing on Canon IX6560 Problem

i've got problem with duplex printing on canon ix6560, i've installed the latest driver from canon website (11.7.1.0) for OSX Maverick (10.9.5). what is the solution ?

First, check the printer specification to make sure it's capable of duplex printing. If it is, there should be a setting in the Finishing tab of the print dialog. Reportedly, Canon tech support sometimes advises customers to uninstall the existing software before installing an update.

  • Duplex printing on Canon MG6150

    Hey everyone,
I recently bought a Canon Pixma MG6150 printer which comes with automatic duplex printing. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I want to use it in InDesign to create a booklet however, whenever I go into Print Settings>Printer>Duplex Printing & Margin everything is greyed out.
I've tried all the drivers I can find on the Canon website and the CD that came with the printer. I've heard about using older drivers, does this mean to download older OS drivers (I tried 10.5 and my Mac said it was not possible to install) or older drivers from Canon?
    Any ideas? Thanks!

I fixed the problem, however I've seen a lot of questions about the Canon duplex printing issues with some Mac users so I thought I'd put my solution up to help anyone else.
Going through the On-Screen Manual that comes with the CD I found out that:
When a media type other than Plain Paper, Hagaki A or Hagaki is selected from Media Type menu of Quality & Media, Automatic Duplex Printing appears grayed out and is unavailable.
When Borderless Printing is set, Automatic Duplex Printing appears grayed out and is unavailable.
Automatic Duplex Printing can be performed only when one of the following paper sizes is selected from Paper Size.US Letter, A5, A4, B5 JIS (JB5), Hagaki
After printing the front page, there is an ink drying wait time before starting to print the back page (Operation stops temporarily). Do not touch the paper during the time. You can change the ink drying wait time from Custom Settings in the Canon IJ Printer Utility.
After going through the printing settings and following these regulations, Duplex Printing was no longer grey!

  • Disable duplex printing on Canon MX 410

    Hi,
I have a canon MX 410 printer and I can not find how to disable the duplex printing.
    So far I have tried
to change the settings on the printing preferances (duplux printing is unchecked).
to update the driver to the latest from http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_series/pixma_mx410
Do you have an idea what else anI do?
    Thank for the help,
    Dmok.

    Hi,
From word open the print dialog and click the Copies & Pages. select Layout from the menu and then set the Two-Sided as off.
You may click the Preset drop-sown ansd save the setting as a preset, then it will remain as defautl till another preset will be used.
From Adobe open the print dialog and click the Print... button, then click the lowest drop-down and select Layout, the Two-sided option will appear there.

  • Duplex printing on Canon i860

I have a Canon i860 printer which I have had for a couple of years and have loved it. But since I upgraded a little over a year ago from a Lombard PB running OS 9.1.1 to a G4 iBook running OS 10.4 in its various incarnations I have not been able to print duplex copies. When I can get it to show up on the under the printer menu when I attempt to print the job just automatically stops and it will not print. I have tried loading new drivers but nothing seems to help. Any advice?

    Hello James,
I am assuming from your post that you can print simplex (ie single sided) without the printer queue stopping. Is this correct?
Where do you select to do two-sided? Are you making the selection under Layout or is there another choice in the printer menu?
FYI - for the iP6000D I have currently connected to my MacBook there is the option 'Duplex Printing & Margin'. This is part of the Printing Dialog Extensions (PDEs) that get installed with the driver. The driver version that provides this option is v4.15. I know this version is available for the i865 (the i860 wasn't sold in Oz) and you can download it from the Canon Europe web site. Are you using this version and if yes, are you selecting Duplex Print from this extension?

  • Duplex printing challenges - Canon Imagerunner C2550

I'm trying to perform some duplex printing with a Canon C2550. The printer is capable of duplex printing however the option to enable duplex printing in the printer settings on the Mac is greyed out. Trying to use the Canon iR C2380/2550 UFR II (US) driver. I can't find any deplex driver settings in the properties of the driver either. If I switch to the Generic PCL Printer driver installed the Duplexer check box shows up in the driver properties however the printer sees the print request as an invalid formatted job.
Any suggestions as how to correct this issue?
    Thank you!
    Greg

One more important point to include: This is a networked printer, not a local printer. Thanks!

Well I don't have a MacBook (yet), but on my PowerBook with 10.4.6 I see a pull down category called Duplex Printing & Margin. What yours shows sounds suspicous. Canon indicates you should be using driver 4.80. See this link:

  • Duplex printing with Canon LBP3300 on 10.5.4

After struggle for over 24 hours, I finally managed to get my LBP3300 to print something for me.
    http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/captusbmacx.html
This is the driver I use in case anyone wants it.
However, the next question is that I CANNOT get LBP3300 to do duplex, which is the ultimate idea of buying this printer!
I do see the item "Two-sided" under "Layout" in the printing option, but then it is in grey and I cant select it...
Is there anyone who can help????

I downloaded the manual that is located on the bottom of the page you have given the link to. Unfortunately it is written in Japanese (understandable given it was on the Canon Japan web site) but looking at the picture on p3.34 it shows the binding position of the paper. The image looks similar to the view in the UFR2 driver so you may have a menu heading of Finishing. If not, have a look at the picture on this page and see if you can match the view with the options you have in the driver.

  • Canon MX870 duplex printing problem

I usually have letterhead paper in my printer tray. And everything used to work fine: if I were printing single-sided or duplex, the printer always printed the first page properly, on the side with the letterhead.
But ever since I upgraded to Mavericks, it will print single-sided on one side, and page one of duplex printing on the other.
If I load the paper face up, duplex printing puts page one properly on the letterhead side.  But if keep the paper face up and print single-sided, it will print page one on the back of the page.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have any dieas how I can fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Roger,
I just tested your symptom on a Canon MG6150 and it appears to be working fine for me.
I loaded a letterhead sheet face-up into the printers cassette. I then selected to print a single page from TextEdit. The text printed on the correct side.
I then created a second page in TextEdit document and selected to print. From the print dialog I enabled the duplex setting in the Duplex Print & Margin menu of the Canon driver. With the letterhead sheet loaded as face-up, page 2 printed on the blank reverse side first, and then paper was pulled back into the printer and page 1 was printed on the letterhead side.
So can you reply with what application you are having the issue with.
Can you also reply what driver version you are using. I am using v10.89.1.0 which was a recent update. You can check this by opening Printers & Scanners, selecting the MX870 and clicking on Options & Supplies. The General tab will show the version.

  • C9295A Duplex Printing Problem

I have been successfully using the C9295A (Officeject 6000, E609n) wireless printer for eleven months.  Set up wireless, connected with win 7 PCs and laptop.  Primarily used for duplex printing and has worked very well.
Several weeks ago it started having errors when printing, almost exclusively when trying to use the duplex printing.  The first page would print normally while the second side would print only about the bottom inch.  Each time it failed there was an error showing in the print queue (Error: Sent to Printer) and subsequent print jobs would fail until that was cleared.  Didn't matter which machine I used.  Connected with ethernet and had the same problem.  Used with wired PC and ethernet and still had the same problem.
Used downloaded printer troubleshooter and network troubleshooters from HP.  They did not detect problems.  Reinstalled software on two machines with no change.  Had a network port error after that, but said to reboot and try again and it passed.  Printer is set up on a WDS port.
I did notice that if I printed a large job (say 10 pages) with duplex it would print most of it correctly.  Have also had some failures where a single page would fail, usually when printing graphics.
I can't seem to find my specific failure in any of the troubleshooting pages.  I have seen the same symptom in some older posts concerning IE8 printing but  I use firefox.  Also the problem is the same whether from Word, a PDF document or a browser.
Has anyone seen a similar problem?Kind of seems like it is having problems keeping the info in memory in the printer.  Is that possible?
Lastly, I haven't yet figured out how I get help with my printer under warranty.  The HP site just keeps sending me back to troubleshooting pages.  They don't recognize my serial number (even though it is registered) and their program to detect it fails.  When I tried to use the "contact by email" link it just brought me back to the "check warranty" page which, of course, fails.  Anyone have any insight there?
Can't believe I worked for this company for 29 years and still can't figure out their website - guess it doesn't say much for the "ease of use".
    bobf

Again, thanks.  I also contacted Canon and they suggested I delete the driver and reinstall from their website.  I did that it worked.
For anyone with a similar problem here is the link and instructions from Canon:
Remove the current driver from printers and scanners.  Highlight the MX920 series and click the -.  Download the latest driver from our support site.
    http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/ InkJet/PIXMA_MX_series/MX925.aspx?DLtcmuri=tcm:14-1099303&page=1&type=download
Install the driver and add the printer in printers and scanners.  When you select the MX920 series printer confirm that MX920 is listed under “print using” and then add.  When this is complete, try to print.

  • Duplex printing problem with Reader Upgrade

I upgraded Acrobat Reader 10.1.8 to 11.0.4 and can no longer access fast or duplex printing for PDF's. I have a Canon MP970 printer for 3 years and have always been able to do both fast printing and duplex printing of PDF's.
    How do I resolve?

I have an identical issue to neuegestaltung, but with an HP 5500. I can print single-sided to A3/tabloid successfully but when I try printing duplex the right quarter of the page is cut off on both sides - almost as if it thinks it's printing portrait.
Applications affected include Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9, Adobe CS3 and CS4 applications including InDesign.
Preview works fine, but of course the colour balance makes the output unusable.
OS 10.6.2, print driver HP Color LaserJet 5500 v 3010.107.
Using the Gutenprint driver I can't either do A3 or colour so there is no solution there.
Worked fully and correctly with the same apps under 10.5.x.
At the moment I am running Windows XP under VMWare to print from Acrobat, which is plainly silly.
Any useful* observations, suggestions or workarounds welcome.
*Needless to say, "It's Adobe's problem" or similar are not acceptable responses. It may well be an interaction between the Adobe's applications and Apple's printing system and/or driver of course; in that case the companies need to collaborate to solve the issue.

  • Duplex Printing Problem in Adobe Reader X (Mac)

My normal printer setting is for duplex printing. However, Adobe Reader X will only print on one side of the paper.. This is on a MacPro under Mac OSX 10.6.6 and Adobe Reader X Version 10.0.1 printing to a Canon IP4500 inkjet printer. Other applications duplex fine.
Any one else with this problem? Fixes or workarounds?

After having the problem / aggravation, I went through each area trying to
learn how to get past it.  Finally, I checkmarked 3x "Don't Show Me This Again"
Then I established a default printer thereby forcing Adobe to retain print preferences
instead of  defaulting to "Any Printer" and losing custom settings
STEPS I TOOK (you may know of something faster, easier?)
CTRL P  or  File, Print to receive standard print dialogue
Within "Printer:"  use drop down to select  "PRINT & FAX Preferences...."
Note: You can set print & fax preferences thru System Preferences, but for
    now we're here
Select the printer you will normally use and set up a default printer (for Adobe)
If the Lock at bottom left is closed it will require the system admin ID and PWD
to unlock/lock in order to make changes :-)
Once finished close this (top left)
You will be returned to this panel
To the right of the "Printer:" drop down is the arrow that expands your options,
make sure it is aiming UP
Middle of screen is "Layout"  Select the drop down and select "Two-Sided Printing"
Look at the next screen image posted below and you will see there's more steps to
    follow for two sided printing
    Check mark "Print Both Sides"
By Re-Opening the Drop down now showing "Two-Side Printing", you can of
course adjust other items while here
Paper Type/Quality allows you to select items such as print quality, color settings
Select "Print" (bottom right of screen) to return to Adobe Reader Print Page
Save time by opening the "Presets:" dropdown and save this as a custom print setup name
       i.e.  grayscale_DblSided, Color_DblSided...
Finally, Check Mark  "Reverse Pages" to print Back to Front and help Adobe
not to print a single sided first page and double sided pages for the others... Nice!
It's time to press "OK" and hover over the printer to ensure Adobe didn't send
instructions to print your 100 single side pages despite all best efforts
Since going through this rigamarole I have not had to reset it every time

  • Connected wirelessly to Canon printer MX340. Duplex printing option is grayed out for me but not on my daughter's non-Mac laptop or husband's PC which is connected to the printer. Mine has two-sided option available at the Apple store. Any ideas?

We use a Canon MX340 series printer/fax/scanner. My husband has his PC hooked to it and my daughter prints wirelessly from it with no problem with her non-Mac laptop. I have trouble printing. Often it does not print and I have to delete the job from the queue. Other times it will print OK but two-sided printing is always grayed out in my printing options. When I took it to the Apple store and printed on their network (selecting their printer) the two-sided option was available. Makes me think the printer is set up wrong, but I am not certain. A fw times at home when trying to print I got an error message about incompatible fonts, but it printed anyway after deleting the job and starting over. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    OK, just an update.
Two years into this, I still find I can only do full duplex printing by using Windows XP running inside of VMWare. I've had occasional, ephemeral luck with duplex printing, but nothing long lasting.
I've tried this in Tiger and Leopard (now at 10.5.6), and I've had this issue with Canon printers MP780 iP4300 and MP610, direct connected to my Core2Duo 17" MBP. I also have this issue when printing over a network, but that's a much harder problem to solve.
Currently, this is my #1 most pressing issue for my Mac, because not being able to print from a computer when you print a lot is a really big drag, and using VMWare all the time is also a really big drag. Other people posting seem to be able to print in Duplex using the very same printers. What could be wrong with my MBP? I see the duplex box option, but most of the time it's grayed out as if my printer doesn't support duplex.
I've tried direct selecting printer drivers from the system preferences, but nothing seems to have an effect. And this is off of a clean Leopard install.
My wife now has similar problems with her new MBP - the Canon print drivers (CUSP & non CUSP) aren't allowing the Duplex box to be checked.
I am willing to pay good money to anyone who thinks they can fix this problem.
    Thank you,
    - Jeff

  • Canon MF4150 duplex printing

    Hi All,
Has anyone gotten duplex printing to work on OS X (10.4.9) with the Canon MF4150? They just released a new driver version (1.5):
    link: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=DownloadDetailAct&fcategoryid=3 35&modelid=14444
I installed this over the 1.4 version. The two-sided option (on the finishing tab of the print dialog) is still greyed out.
Canon tech support says that two-sided printing is unavailable on this printer.
However, someone over at macintouch says that they have gotten two sided printing to work on the MF4150:
    http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/printing/topic4318.html#apr13
So, what is the answer. Is two sided printing possible from OS X on the Canon MF4150?
    MacBook Pro 2.0GHz Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The MF4150 uses the UFR2 driver that is also used on the imageRUNNER copiers, which I already have installed on my 10.4.9 MBP. I added the printer driver and can see that the machine definitely supports duplex printing. As you have found it is located under Finishing > Print Style > '2-sided Printing'.
Since your option to select this is not available, I'm wondering if it is a detection issue? The UFR2 driver, like the PS driver, cannot be configured via Printer Info > Installable Options. For the iR's, the driver polls the copier to determine what accessories are installed. This is usually done on installation but I have also seen this 'get device info' window appear the first time you try to print. I would try selecting the printer in the printer list and clicking Utility. This will open the UFR2 Print Monitor which will give you info about the printer setup. This may 'update' the driver so that 2 sided becomes available?
Also, I've had issues with the Canon drivers/ppds where one option is greyed-out due to a constraint. For example, to staple a print job the collate needs to selected. But after selecting this, the staple option is still not available. You have to select another menu item, such as ColorSync, then go back to Finishing to select Stapling.
A last suggestion would be to delete the driver, reset the printing system and delete the UFR2 folder in Library/Printers/Canon. Then reinstall the new v1.50 driver (which is a Universal version) and add that again to see if it resolves your problem.

  • Problem Scanning Duplex Printed Document

I would appreciate help with the problem described below. Problem: Scanning duplex printed document scans first page Perfectly but second page comes out solid black. OS: Windows 7
    Printer: Canon PIXMA MX860
Software App: Canon MP Navigator EX - mx860 series I would appreciate your help in solving this problem.Thank you,

Thank You for the advice. I called technical help and Jesse spent considerable time and effort to help me solve the problem. The final verdict is that their is a hardware glitch, not software, The nearest Canon repair center is apparently in some place called Lake Forest, CA.  I was born and lived all my life in Southern CA and never heard of Lake Forest. It must be in Northern CA so I can't simply take it in to the shop for repairs. Jesse informed me of a consumer loyalty discount available if I should wish to purchase a new printer.

  • Duplex printing problem with hp 9500 (right side always just half printed)

Since OS X 10.6 was released there is a problem with the print out of duplex printed pages (specially via Indesign CS4 broschure printing function). Using Mac OS X 10.5.8 with old and new driver everything is fine - but under 10.6, 10.6.1 or 10.6.2 neither old nor one of the new driver releases 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 will work.
When I´m trying to print a duplex printing page the print of the right page will be cutted off at the half of the page - like the page would not print A3 horizontally but vertically (so the rest is cut off). The new print features within the printing menu (manual duplex print and print broschure will have same effect but with a strange miniaturization to A5 - although it should be A4). All in all the is no way to print out a duplex printing with OS X 10.6 and hp 9500. Will there be any solution in sight? Are there other with the same effect?

I have an identical issue to neuegestaltung, but with an HP 5500. I can print single-sided to A3/tabloid successfully but when I try printing duplex the right quarter of the page is cut off on both sides - almost as if it thinks it's printing portrait.
