Duplex reports with pdf templates

Hi,
I'm trying to create a PDF template with a repeatable group on 2 pages.
Basically, my form is to be printed duplex, and I can have more than one form.
With one page, it's working fine, but if I move the end of the group to the second page of the PDF template, I have the following error messaage:
BODY_END field page key is incorrect, thus, this field is not included anywhere.

XML Publisher errors with pdf template workd perfectly with rtf template

I hope you are well.
I am having a problem with pdf templates in XML publisher. I have a report which outputs XML, this works very well with an rtf template. However I am trying to create a pdf xml publisher template (using the concurrent process which generates the same xml data source) and use this as the basis for the xml publisher report. The process is failing with the error ‘No output file exists for request xxxx’
I am currently working with a very simplified example, the concurrent program generates 5 fields in the xml output including ASSIGNMENT_NUMBER and NI_NUMBER.
Text fields with the same names are inserted into the pdf corresponding to all fields.
Any advice on this would be very greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
I have enabled debug mode and run the report as a 2 step process.
The debug file is attached. Although it says pdf file created successfully no pdf is created and the output file is 0 bytes in size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A big problem of Generate report with PDF format....Urgent

I want to generate a report with pdf format through one java file, it have two page 1)gen_report.jsp 2) report_gen.java , the compliation was failed. However, i don't what the problem is .... i hope anyone can help me as it is very argent for me ....Thanks a lot

Go to the cache directory and see if you can open the report directly from here (not in IE).
I have seen posts on problems with Acrobat Reader Plugin for IE (I believe it was version 6 of Reader).

when i make the desformat=PDF it gave me error
"file does not start with '%PDF' " in the IExplorer despite i have updated version of Acrobat reader and IE.
I'm using this URL:

Specific report with special template

Hello Friends I have designed 4 templates 1 FOR BMW - Auto, 1 for bmw - HR
etc.
Question # 1 : I now want to make the portal display 4 tabs Auto, HR, FMA, FECS
by making a copy of 0analysis_pattern
So if user execute the report selecting HR Tab it execute the report with that template.
Please help me how can i set up this do I need a master template that links all 4 or I can do this by some portal setting we are on BI 7.0 2004S SP14
Question#2 Also I have a requirement of making custom template for dasboards where i want to use that template for specific report. please suggest with steps on how can I execute only specific report with special template that mean my special template will overwrite the settings 4 tabs Auto, HR, FMA, FECS and that report will be executed with special template only,.

1. Create one more template in WAD by copiing 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN. we have an TABs Web Item. You need to use this web Item in your WAD Template. You need to do this using Commands. When ever you click on any Tab, it should call specific Bex Query (Not Web Template you Created).
1. Create one temple which copy of 0ANALYSIS _PATTREN.
2. drag TABS web Item .
3. define the Sequence of reports in TABs Web Item Properties.
4. Set the Properties of the ANALYSIS Web Item upon execution of every Tab. you need to set these parameters using Commnds.
2. Create a brand new template by coping 0ANALYSIS_PATTREN. make necessary changes to new template use this template for where you want. this template will be different from earlier 4 Tabs one.

I have created a report based on a single database table (DEMO.PRODUCTS) but am experiencing problems when I try and map the form fields in PDF Template to my sample XML file.
I created a PDF Template and uploaded this template to my Layout. This PDF Template has two form fields on it (PRODUCTNAME and UNITPRICE, which incidentally are the names of the database columns I want them to map to).
I have also uploaded my sample XML data file and therefore have access to the Map Form Fields button on my report definition. However, when I click on the button a new window opens with the Map PDF Form Fields and a dialog to "Click on each highlighted...." and then hangs. When I close the window I receive a message about an Adobe Acrobat error.
If I try and do the same thing in Firefox then I receive a message in the JavaScript Console:

Hi Aashish,
I suggest you to check the RTF Template of your report ....as if your xml output file on submit request form--->diagnostic --->view xml ...is generated ... it means that your data defination file is perfectly fine but there is issue with your rtf template....may be some of grouping or tag is not put properly...
one thing i want to suggest you to pls save that data file as .xml extension and upload in rtf u designed on youe desktop.... check theprview if its coming fine or not.

Run BI Publisher report (with Excel template) on Windows 7

Sorry for my English :)
I have some problem:
I use BIP standalone for my reports. Some reports are in Excel (with Excel template). When I run it on PC with WinXP - all is OK. But, when I try to run it on PC with Win7, then Excel is opening and writing this "Native file format and file extension does not mismatch. Before open be sure of file does not damage" (this is my translation). If I try save file on the hard disk, then file is 0 kb. But if a report has RTF-template, then it opening normaly on Win7's PC.
Have you any ideas?

The query should be same @ detail level, only the template has to be different for summary and details.
@runtime, user can choose to see the detail/summary
Disadvantage, if the data is huge,
advantage , only one report.
option2:
create two separate reports summary and details
and create diff data and diff layout and keep it as different report
Advantage, query will perform based on the user run report, summary/detail, so that you can write efficient query.
Dis advantage , two reports query/template to be maintained.

To use of Adobe forms in webdynpro, you need to install ADS on the server and you need to configure this ADS service.
To install and configure your ADS follow the weblog steps given by Shubham.
Then, to design adobe forms, you require Adobe designer installed on developer's machine with NWDS.
To run your webdynpro application containing Adobe form, you require Acrobat reader 6.0.2 or higher version and Active component framework on client's machine.

we are using some custom reports in payables modual production server the reports are working fine .
my question is i need creat same reports in test server i have done following activities.
1. copied rdf file from prod server and pasted into test server
2.given excutable name in system administrator modual(concurrent-progrem-excutable)
3.define report in system administrator modual(cocurrent-program-define) output selected PDF and given parameters.
4. switch to payables moduale run the report ,following error showing in log file plese help how to resolve it we don,t have any custom reports in test server this is first time to creat the report.

When run, if I press the Update link it displays a simple form and utilises the Template I specified for the Report (as expected).
If I press the Delete link it displays a page with a default Oracle template (including Navigator, Home and Help buttons I wish to suppress)
How can I get the Delete to use the specified Template?
Any simple fix appreciated.

I get the following error

I did have the setting Effective date, what cause the problem?

Have a look at following post and run the sql in this post to see if your template definition is missing.

You could also run Application Engine PSXPCLEAN to clean orphan rows.
Are you running the report online or through PeopleCode?
In last case make sure the effdt is set correct in PeopleCode.

Embedding Fonts in Oracle Reports with PDF output

I've read in the data sheet for Oracle reports that you can embed font in the PDF output, but I cannot seem to find any documentation on how this is done. Current we have PDF reports being generated using reports server on Compaq (Alpha based) server running TRUE64 UNIX. The reports server uses the fonts install on the Compaq to figure out the layout (we use auto-sized fields). When the PDF is displayed on a Windows client the fonts are substituted and the labels and fields overlap. I want to embed the UNIX fonts into the PDF so that the output is reproduced as it was generated.

You need to export as PDF (Interactive) and you also need to view the PDF in Reader or Acrobat 9 or later.

Report with online template runs online, but exports empty report.

I created a simple Table template using the online template builder. The report consists of four columns. It runs fine in online mode, and displays the data. When I try to export this report to any other format, while still viewing the table in the browser, it exports an empty report! Only the title is visible, no data rows.
Just another example of how bad this software is. Every day it's a different bug!

It's the conditional highlighting that breaks the report. I made it so a few rows were emboldened based on the value of one column. Nice feature, Oracle.

Interactive Report with PDF BLOB

I have a table with a blob that contains a PDF, is there a way that I can convert this to an IRR?
I don't want to view the PDF contents I just want to search that blob field it using my oracle text index (and obtain the scoring) and my other fields normally....
Here is my original query syntax:
SELECT id as Download,score (1) || '%' "PDF Relevance",abbreviation
FROM listing
where
some criteria listed.....
and
contains(blob_content,'%' || :P2_SEARCH || '%',1) > 0

Are you aware of anyway that I could create a view of my blob data and search it that way for a temporary fix? The blob data is only updated twice a year so refreshing it is not a concern as I can take care of that?
I may have to just create a separate search for the full text of the PDF via the Oracle text index. :(
