Duplexing Discrepancy

Some of our users have noticed that on some models of HP printers that when they duplex, there is a discrepancy between the margin size intended and what is printed. An example is if you wanted to print both sides borderless, then the duplexed or back side may be slightly shrunk to have a small margin. This issue does not come up often, but I have seen a few threads in the last week which brought it up.
After extensively researching this and through contacting our engineers I have found an answer for this issue. For those who have experienced this issue, it is part of the printer’s design and will not be subject to change. Essentially, it is due to the mechanics of the duplexer. The first page is held by the output roller, but the second page reduces in size so that the main roller can maintain contact with the page (this affects all inkjets).
If you need to print with duplex outside of these margin presets, the best method to achieve this is by manually duplexing the pages involved (placing the printed page face up, right side up in the tray). To perform large print jobs which require this feature, simply print off the odd pages first (there should be an option in your program’s print settings for this), then manually duplex all the even pages.
I hope this information is helpful to anyone who might experience this issue.

Port GigabitEthernet0/1 on device MKT_3 with mode full-duplex
But when i check the configuration of both switches it shows as FULL DUPLEX for the above....
Kindly guide how to resolve the above error....

This is a known issue with ports set to auto-duplex.  Since the switches do not reflect the current operational duplex, LMS does not know if the port negotiated to full or half.  In that case, it presents the warning so you can investigate.  Once you've confirmed the duplex is correct, you can acknowledge the discrepancy.
If you upgrade your switches to 12.2(55)SE, then the switch will report the operational duplex, and this discrepancy will go away on its own.  The bug that fixed this was CSCtc12593

I can't seem to get a 6i report launched in on an HP box to print in Duplex.

  • A pdf document created in cs5 cannot be printed in duplex on a pc without cs5 or adobe reader pro

    Hi!
there is a "normal" cs5 created pdf document.
the installed cs5  pc -> i can print in duplex on every printer, without cs5 installed duplex printing not possible.
I am searching for a solution to print the pdf document in duplex mode on every printer, but only with the latest freeware version adobe xi 11.0.3.
(If i install adobe cs4 on a pc it is possible to print the document in duplex mode on a hp3525 printer, but duplex is not possible on a ricoh printer for example mpc5502.)
I cant upload the file, because its bigger than 2 mb. (5mb)
Is there anybody out there for help.
If you need the file, i´ll send 2 u.
    thx

Yep, it definitely is a complicated workflow... But I'm not really sure of any other way to get from the 34" wide pattern to the home-sewing version which is split into pages and has alignment marks and whatnot. I'm very much an amateur that has figured it out as I went
I went through the page in the photo pretty thoroughly with the layer panel and I couldn't find any mystery lines... But I did find something interesting; when I click on any of the pattern lines, it shows the whole line of the pattern piece, which extends well past the edge of the artboard. So when I'm printing the poster-sized PDF to 7.5x10 pages, it's keeping all the anchor points of a line even if only a small piece of that is on the actual page.
Does this help? I've included the page in the photo as well http://www.putlocker.com/file/DADB4759DBB860D8
    Thanks again to everyone!
Also, should I be keeping all the files I'm editing as .ai files and then only exporting to PDF for the very final product? I was doing that at first, but then using .pdf for the whole process didn't seem to make any difference.

  • Manual duplex printing doesn't work for LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a

    Hi !
OS Windows 8.1. Printer LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a. Driver version 61.108.8.10073 date 2011 Apr 13th
    1. After switching on checkbox "Print on Both Sides (Manually)" on "Finishing" tab of Print Properties Dialog and
start printing, dialog with instruction how to turn paper appears. Then printer must print odd pages, stop for
turning paper and then continue printing of even pages on the back side of paper sheets. But my device prints
all pages sequentually in order 1,2,3,... without any breaks. What is it- my mistake or possible bug in driver ?
    2. Windows API function DeviceCapabilities with fwCapability=DC_DUPLEX for this printer returns 0 (duplex printing
impossible). This value for any other HP printer, even without automatic duplexer, always equel to 1.

    Hi @Up205,
I see by your post that you are having issues manually printing two-sided. I can help you with this.
The software for this model on Windows 8.1 is the Basic Solution Software and Driver. This basic software solution provides print and scan functionality only. Did you download and install the newest drivers?
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw Drivers.
Check to make sure Bidirectional Support is Enabled.
Go to the start up screen, (tiles menu) type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers, right click on the printer, left click Printer Properties, on the Ports tab, put a check beside Enable Bidirectional Support.
You might have to restart the computer.

  • Duplex Printing on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless Printer

Duplex printing - 1.  How do you change the settings to make the printer print on both sides of a single sheet of paper?
                             2.  How do you change the settings to make the printer print on both sides of a single sheer of paper and
when it prints the backside of the sheet it rotates the text so that when you read the text you FLIP it
up vertically to read the backside rather than just turning the over to read the text on the backside.
I thought I knew the answer to this question - but yesterday when I printed an Owner's Manual for a friend the printer printed 10 sheets that you had to FLIP the sheet over to read the text on the other side (Note: FLIP was not "X"'d.  Then when I printed again I changed the setting so that FLIP was "X"d and it printed with the orientation that I needed (just turn the sheet over to read the text  on the backside of the sheet).
NO instructions about "Printer Settings" came with the printer so I am in the dark about "HOW TO" things.  As I said before I thought I need how to do it - but it performed exactly backwards as I had thought,,,Have I got TOO old to remember HOW TO set up settings?  Would appreciate help with this and where I can do to get info about HP Printer Settings.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I assume you are using Windows 7
    For 1)
Click Start. Go to "Devices and Printers".
Double Click on the printer icon.
    Click Customize Printer
    Click Preference
Select "Print on both sides" and select "Flip on long Edge"
    For 2)
Repeat the same steps but select "Flip on short Edge"
You can find the same preferences when you click on preferences on the print menu (Ctrl + P)
Say "Thanks" by clicking the Kudos Star in the post that helped you.

  • Duplex printing problem with hp 9500 (right side always just half printed)

Since OS X 10.6 was released there is a problem with the print out of duplex printed pages (specially via Indesign CS4 broschure printing function). Using Mac OS X 10.5.8 with old and new driver everything is fine - but under 10.6, 10.6.1 or 10.6.2 neither old nor one of the new driver releases 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 will work.
When I´m trying to print a duplex printing page the print of the right page will be cutted off at the half of the page - like the page would not print A3 horizontally but vertically (so the rest is cut off). The new print features within the printing menu (manual duplex print and print broschure will have same effect but with a strange miniaturization to A5 - although it should be A4). All in all the is no way to print out a duplex printing with OS X 10.6 and hp 9500. Will there be any solution in sight? Are there other with the same effect?

I have an identical issue to neuegestaltung, but with an HP 5500. I can print single-sided to A3/tabloid successfully but when I try printing duplex the right quarter of the page is cut off on both sides - almost as if it thinks it's printing portrait.
Applications affected include Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9, Adobe CS3 and CS4 applications including InDesign.
Preview works fine, but of course the colour balance makes the output unusable.
OS 10.6.2, print driver HP Color LaserJet 5500 v 3010.107.
Using the Gutenprint driver I can't either do A3 or colour so there is no solution there.
Worked fully and correctly with the same apps under 10.5.x.
At the moment I am running Windows XP under VMWare to print from Acrobat, which is plainly silly.
Any useful* observations, suggestions or workarounds welcome.
*Needless to say, "It's Adobe's problem" or similar are not acceptable responses. It may well be an interaction between the Adobe's applications and Apple's printing system and/or driver of course; in that case the companies need to collaborate to solve the issue.

  • Duplex-Druck Adobe Reader ergibt "Buchstabensalat"

    Hallo,

Unable to Duplex print in QXP after update to 10.6.5. Quark says duplex is a PPD feature. Apple Tech support says its a PPD issue also and they have to wait until the 3rd party software (QUARK) updates PPD.

    Hi Gary,
we are getting many reports back from customers and our Quality Assurance Department can confirm that too:
The duplex printing issue some QuarkXPress users experienced in 10.6.5 seem to be fixed with the 10.6.6 update of Mac OS X.

  • Cannot find duplexing for HP Envy 110 on Mac OS 10.6

    Hi,
So I just purchased the HP Envy 110 D411a printer mainly for the convenience of its automated double-sided printing feature.  However, that functionality doesn't work.  I went under my system preferences on my Mac OSX 10.6 and followed the directions; under the "driver tab" there should be a box that I can select for duplexing, yet that option does not appear.  Why is that?

    Hi,
The Two-Sided option should not appear within the driver settings, as the specific model contain internal duplexing module and therefore enabled by default.
Please follow the steps below and let me know if that helps:
    1. From the application used to print, click the File menu, and then select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
    2. In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Check the box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
    3. To select the binding type click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
    4. Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
    5. Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Short-Edge binding (landscape).
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...

  • How do I install the Duplexing unit in an HP 7550 in Windows 7?

I have an HP Photosmart 7550 printer with only around 450 pages through it.  I recently purchased a duplexing unit for it, installed it physically, but cannot get the software to recognize it's there.  How should I go about getting this to work?
I should ad that it's configured through a dual port wireless print server, (Trendnet PEW-211G), and is working fine, just I can't activate the duplexer.
    Thanks

Never mind, I figured it out...

  • Purchase Order Items open vs ME2M discrepancy

First posting so if this is not the right section please move this topic.  Was the closest I could come to correct forum placement.
Hello all,  I am in the process of setting up BPM to monitor u201CN* of Purchase Order Items openu201D from various plant locations and I am noticing the number BPM gives is different than what the system you give if I used ME2M.
For example:  I am setting up BPM to monitor Number of Purchase Order Items Open for plant location 2102.  The set up is scarce and I only have a few fields filled out in the set-up:
-Document Type u2013 Single Value u2013 NB, UB, FO, ZPC, ZGR
    -Plant (Item) u2013 2102
-Doc. Category u2013 F (Purchase Order)
-All of fields are left blank
When this runs I will get an example of 1487 (it changes on an hourly basis so I canu2019t give a static value).
When I try to verify this number using ME2M I get a value of 1237.  A difference of 250.
The configuration I am using for ME2M is as follows:
    -Plant u2013 2102
    -Scope of List u2013 ALLES
    -Selection Parameters u2013 WE101
-Document Type - NB, UB, FO, ZPC, ZGR
-All other fields at left blank
Any reason for this discrepancy?  The closest I can guess is SAP is pulling in some additional information OR my configuration is incorrect.  Anybody run into this issue that has some tips?
    Thank you
    -nic

I know that ME2M has nothing to due to with BPM.
I am confused as to why when I set up BPM, in Solution Manager, to monitor Purchase Orders that are open I am getting a different number than when I use the transaction ME2M in SAP ECC.
    For example:
When the process runs in Solution Manager I get back 1425 open POs
When I go into SAP ECC and use the transaction ME2M it will only pull up 1175 open POs
Somewhere along the lines I am missing or adding 250 POs.  The current setup (listed above; not sure if BPM is configured the same for everyone) is listed above.
I have tried various set-up options in both BPM Solution Manager and SAP ECC (ME2M) but can't seem to find where these additional numbers are coming from.
    Thank you

  • Vendor balance shows discrepancy between S_ALR_87012082 and FAGLB03.

    Dear expert,
These 2 reports currently shows discrepancy in balance.
I came to know S_ALR_87012082  report ( vendor balance in local currnecy) has more vendor records than FAGLB03.
Namely, some of vendors are not displaying in FAGLB03 but showing S_ALR_87012082 .
Could you inspire me why this problem arised and how to fix it?
Is it related to balance carry forward something?
    where should i doubt?
    Sincerely,
    J.

If you do not see balance carryforward amounts in FAGBL03 are you using all vendor Recon accounts?
