Duplicate a 2 sided doc and "attach" it to the original
I want to place 2 identical 8 1/2 x 11 2-sided docs on one 11x17 sheet, by duplicating the original doc in total and "attaching" it to the original. Is this possible or do I need to cut and paste the original onto a new 11x17 doc?
That, or you can Place the original file into a new file. That has the advantage that if you later want to do any editing you edit the original file once, then update the links and they all get the updates.

I am looking for an application that would allow me to open a word doc, and take notes in the .doc using a stylus pen. I'd then like to convert those notes to text, and then be able to copy / paste those notes into an email. Does this app exist? It seems like we were doing these same types of things with Palm Pilots years ago, one would think this would work with iPads?
I don't believe it will open a Word document, but Writepad allows for handwritten conversion of notes to text and then to email. Might help you some of the way...

Mac OSX 10.6.8 running Photoshop CS5. My hard drive went belly up. Installed a new one and then tried to install Photoshop from my backup. I get an error message 6 telling me to uninstall Photoshop and then reinstall from the original software. But I bought from Adobe online. How do I go about this?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

Can you increase the brightness of a photo in order to edit and then return to the original brighten
Can you increase the brightness of a photo temporarily while editing in PS and then return to the original brightness. My problem is that I want to delete some objects in my photo and can hardly see them.
Awesome--some of my menu choices were not the same so I had to guess but I did it and it preserved the original brightness.
My path:
View->Proof Setup->Custom->Device to simulate: sRGB ice (bunch of nos.)->Preserve no. set on
And Voila! it returned me to my orignal colors and brightness and maintained the other changes I made.

I am using the newest Firefox and running Windows 7You are correct. It is not fair to blame Firefox for something the idiots at Facebook have done. I have not been impressed by all of the "new" features or changes they have made over the short 2 1/2 years I've been on Facebook. This was just the last straw. Too bad I was fooled into thinking that the latest change was fixable. With all the posts I've read expressing hatred of the new Timeline you would think they would have gotten the message. Perhaps they want folks to stop using it. Or perhaps they think that folks will scream for awhile then knuckle under. Just like the politicians, huh? I don't NEED Facebook. Thanks.

I had a copy of Mountain Lion on my late 2008 MacBook Pro, having replaced Lion which it came with. But the drive crashed, so I replaced the drive and reinstalled Lion from the original disks I had. How do I get another copy of Mountain Lion?
A 2008 Mac won't have originally shipped with Lion. You need to install 10.6.8 on the computer, log into the Mac App Store with the Apple ID you used to purchase Mountain Lion, click on the Purchases tab, and download it.

When editing an image in Photoshop from Lightroom then saving it back to Lightroom, how do i get the image to go back and sit next to the original image? Mine is going back to the end of the folder. Thanks Karen

You may the sort set to Custom. Click the dropdown menu on the toolbar (to the right of the word sort) and change to capture time.
If you can’t see the toolbar above the filmstrip press the T key. Press T again to hide. -
Is there a way to import images that have been edited and assign them to the original?
I am transitioning to mac and aperture. Is there a way to import images that have been edited and assign them to the original? I have 10,000 originals and about 2,000 edited images. The originals are named img_XXXX and anything modified img_XXXX_modified. I would like to be able to import the originals and then import the edited versions and assign them to the original masters. Instead of starting from here and going forward with 12,000 masters, some of which are actual originals and others not. Thanks for the help.
Ah, the vestiges of a destructive workflow! Once you "get" Aperture, (specifically Masters and Versions) you are going to love it, as all of this work goes away - the relationship that you seek to retain is automatic in Aperture; it is simply done differently.
The short answer to your question is EVERY image file that is Imported into Aperture will create a new Master and one Version. Assuming that your images are PSD/TIFF/JPEG that you created in something like Photoshop, then each one that your import will be a new Master. You have many options:
-- Stick the originals in one Project(s) and the edited versions in another Project(s).
-- Stick them all in the same Project(s) and "Stack" them.
But here is the real question: Why are you doing all of this work and what are you trying to accomplish? Seems you are trying to preserve old things that don't need preserving in a non-destructive workflow.
So, what is most valuable to you?
-- The original, out of camera files? (That is, the fear/need to revert.)
-- The edited versions? (That is the hours of work that it took you to get there.)
If the former, import the originals and ignore the edited versions. (Either simply leave them out on disk or import them into their own Projects which you ignore.) Use Aperture to recreate the work you had done previously. This will always give you the ability to revert to the original Master and create as many Versions as you want. This is the best idea if your edits are relatively simple crops and exposure adjustments,
If the latter, then import the edited versions and do as above with the originals. This makes more sense if your work uses lots of layers and, perhaps lots of clone tool type corrections.
Of course, you can do a bit of both.
Others may have better suggestions, but you will find it easy to answer your own question when you understand an image based, as opposed to a file based, non-destructive workflow.

Apple cannot help you locate the original owner. If you have no way to contact him/her, and you purchased directly from the seller rather than through a site that offers buyer protection, then the iPad is useless to you and you have wasted your money. The iPad is quite probably stolen and you should turn it in to the police.
This is why it's very risky and usually unwise to purchase out of a car boot from someone you don't know.

Go to www.ecamm.com and d/l PhoneView.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place.
With PhoneView you can take the content from the device to the iTunes library.

"itunes could not connect to the ipod becasue it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcose on the ipod before it can be used" BUT i cant unlock it and i dont have the original itunes that is was hooked up with before either. HELP! It wont let me restore because it is locked. I cannot unlock it. I have tried everything online. nothing works.
