Duplicate App installed in my Lumia 920

Has this happened to any of you ? How does WP8 allow the installation of the same application twice?

There are two entries listed on the store. One of them is listed as published by Nokia and the other by Tunein. The same thing has happened with Accuweather and Sky news too.
It's nothing to worry about and won't hurt your phone so you may as well just un-install one of the Tunein apps from your phone.

Problems in updating Lumia 920 and installing apps

I have had problems with the new (approx. 1 month old) Lumia 920. In the beginning (bout 2 weeks) everything worked fine. Then started synchronization problems with MS account. I was some how able to fix these problems, even they renewed. I thought that the Black update would fix the problems, but the phone did not istalled the update. It started to download the update, but after dowloading 20-50 % of the update the download crashed with some error code. I also had problems to install some apps. App was downloaded to the phone, but duringthe installation the process crashed and reported some error. After one week of trying different kinds of tricks to get the update and installation of apps working I decided to reset the phone to original setting i.e. hard reset. The reset cycle went through fine. i was able to set the MS account and synchronization was working, got e-mail and contacts to the phone. Still the update does not work and now I can not install any apps to the phone. There are over 20 updates waiting, but always the result is the same. App is downloaded to the phone, but during installation the process crashes. I have tried different connections WiFi and mobile data and done the soft reset every now and then. Is there still something I can do myself to try the fix the problem or should I just take the phone to the Nokia Care.

I would recommend you to check your device thoroughly by Nokia Care Technical team or get it replaced because the problems you have described, unluckily it is a defective device.

Non Availability of Apps in for Lumia 920 in Oman

I bought Lumia 920 in Oman where I Live. Sadly I can't find enough Apps on Phone Apps. These Apps are available on US marcket but not here. I tried to Install Twitter but it said that Apps is not available in this region. Without Twitter .In People app not all functionality of Twitter available.
Also tried to buy the App like Rowi. But failed because the non availability of app for purchase.
Please any one suggest how to buy apps from Oman or Middle East ?

Lumia 920 Camera App not working with 8.1

Hi there, Just had the Cyan update.   Camera app just shows black screen, both for video and camera.
Did soft reboot, hard reset, etc.    Took to repair shop and they installed new camera.   Not working
They did a reinstall back to factory and still no joy.

Thanks. Only had microsoft camera, so downloaded the Nokia Camera. Could not find a "nokia pro cam"
Also where in settings is the "more tile" option?
Nokia camera now is just the black screen, no options.

Can't delete album in Pictures app on Lumia 920

I used my Lumia 920 phone as a flash drive for random files.
One time I uploaded a folder of music files to: My Computer\Windows Phone\Phone.
Then, one day I opened Pictures app and found new album there. It was called "Artwork", I deleted it, but still whenever I open Pictures app the album's still there, just empty. Tried deleting that folder trough Windows Explorer, but no luck, phone still shows it, though it is deleted.
Tried creating folder with same name: no music, just one random picture, and phone showed it (not creating a duplicate Album) then renamed that folder, it magically renamed in picture app too! but then again, deleted it, and it is showing up empty with different name now.
By the way, the folder "artwork" was inside the folder of songs, so in picture app it was "folder in folder"(maybe thats the bug). Something like: My Computer\Windows Phone\Phone\Group name\Artwork

I've created an account just to post a solution! I'd had the same problem for weeks and I finally figured out a solution today:
(Don't forget to exit the "Photos" app using the back button before connecting the phone to a computer)
1. If you haven't deleted the album folder using a computer, do it (open the phone memory on a computer and delete the folder).
2. Create a new folder and give it the same name as the album in question.
3. Copy a new random picture into the folder.
4. Unplug the phone and make sure the new picture's showed up in the gallery.
5. Connect the phone to the computer again and rename the folder to some gibberish, a single letter (like "a") is enough.
6. Unplug and make sure the album's name's changed in the gallery as well.
7. Connect the phone again and rename the folder to "Sample Pictures".
8. Unplug and check the gallery again, the album should be named "8".
9. Tap and hold the album and delete the sucker.
The steps above worked for me when nothing else had. Steps 3-7 are mostly just check-ups, they might not be essential but they indicate that you're doing what you're supposed to and that everything works as expected.

Lumia 920 camera suddenly not working after app up...

I have had yellow Lumia 920 now for about 3 weeks and everything worked just fine. Yesterday evening (european time) I saw update reminders on the "shop" tile and there were 3 or 4 of them (Nokia drive+ and some others that I don't remember). I was doing something and didn't give a thought but just let the updates to be downloaded and installed and they went fine as far as I know. Today when I tried to take photos the camera suddenly dosen't work anymore. No matter if I click the hardware button or the camera app tile, it just flip back to live tiles. Camera doesn't work on Bing search either and not on any apps that utilized the camera.
I wonder if anyone else have this problem or what I should do next... I have restart the phone a few times but it didn't help... I haven't hard reset it because I have so many stuff in the phone, if there is a easy way to do it I rather not hard reset it...
Any suggestions are greatly welcome!

I have the same problem. I am not sure if an app update is what caused this, but my camera on my new Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 has stopped working. I took two photos yesterday, but when I tried to take some today my camera was a completely black screen with the bottom buttons grayed out and the top bottom to view recent pictures highlighted and still working. I don't know what to do because I purchased this phone off of Ebay and everything worked fine after I purchased it. I'm hoping I didn't get a faulty phone.
I have tried everything.... soft reset, deleting all the camera apps, and tried to reset the camera. I want to avoid doing a hard reset because it bricked my last Nokia and I don't want that to happen.
The only way I can use my camera is through an app, Nokia Glam Me. But it only uses FFC (front facing camera)
I don't know what else I should do.
Help. Please...

Lumia 920 / Problem with Store App

Right after I bought my Lumia 920, a added few applications (viber, instagram, etc.) using store app.
After few days, everytime I tried to open Store App, or even visit the market page using browser on my device, I got the same message:
''Service unavailable at the moment. Check again in a little while.''
My phone is totally blocked for downloading new Apps. I'm not able to, for example update ''What's Up'' App beacuse it's redirecting me automatically to Store. This haven't been changed for a while, about month or two. I even updated phone regulary once update was available, nothing changed after that. All other stuff is working perfectlly, so I'm not sure what could be the problem.

Is everything ok with your Microsoft account? You didn't change your password recently or anything like that? Try logging into your microsoft account just to make sure everything is ok.

Lumia 920 suddenly switching apps

2 weeks ago I had my 3 month old lumia 920 replaced because it locked on the widows boot manager screen. As soon as I got the new phone it was already having problems. It will suddenly vibrate and jump from screen to screen. Almost as if the back button was being pressed repeatedly. It happens more freqently when using an internet based app like marketplace or GPS, but happens other times as well. Any ideas on how to fix this or do I just need to take it back? Again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You may try a few things before taking the phone back..
First check if the phone has the latest System applications..especially the display+touch . You can find the QR Codes HERE
Once you update the application go to settings-->display+touch-->touch and select Normal ...
If problem remians try a Soft Reset : Press Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds). The phone will reboot. Then check again.
If no change then sorry ...

How to install XAP files to Lumia 920

May I know how to install XAP files into Lumia 920 since it doesn't have the SD card slot.

I dont think , if it continues like that in windows phone OS, i dont think people will like windows 8 in near future, we are going to get mozilla OS, Linus OS in near future , and still Windows follows old principle of every thing money matters, better AS a loving fan of nokia am suggesting instead of windows OS better look for other options to increase market share, the kind of purchasing windows phone is waste of money and no customizations, it reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly frustrating nokia lummia users and I am suggeting all my friends to not to buy lumia eventhough I am hard core fan of Nokia and they are surprising about,

Lumia 920 can take sharp pictures with an app

I have been thinking what to do with my brand new Lumia 920 because I am dissapointed with picture quality. They are simply not sharp, and I am not talking only daylight or night pictures. In my case MOST of the pictures are not sharp. However all Macro pictureas are sharp, and one of a hundred both daylight and low light ARE sharp.
My previous phone is Nokia N8 and wife have Iphone 4s so I know what to expect from a phone.
I have dowloaded app called Camera Easy and that app simply take SHARP pictures.
Here are two comparison, two sharp are of course taken with Camera Easy app, and two not so sharp pictures are taken with default Nokia Lumia 920 software. ( I have bought Camera Pro as well, but pictures have same quality as Nokia Lumia 920 default software, not sharp).
However there is one bug in Camera Easy app, it can save images in own folder somewhere on Lumia 920, but they are not listed on camera roll or albums???
(reason why I am covering my eye is because I took over hundred of pictures and looking in flash light that many times will hurt my eyes.... so some protection )

Changing Map Default App on Lumia 920

Just got a new lumia 920, love the Windows Phone 8, not liking so much that Nokia apps have taken over default Windows Phone apps like Maps. How do I get default Maps app back. I know that underlying system components are still there because Local Scout uses Bing Maps and not Nokia Maps app.

hmm. i actually prefer the nokia products.
you could try to uninstall the nokia maps.
other than that, i do not see anywhere in the device to change that.

Haptics (texture) apps on Lumia 920?

Any haptic apps on WP where you can feel the texture on stuff? I have look but havnt found any, so I quess there are´nt any, but I ask anyway.

sorry for late response and thx for reply. Well the screen I took is from the eBay and it's not original-original unfortunately. With the new screen came digitizer, display (afcourse) and on the right side flex cable for the volume up, down, power and camera. So the problem with the compass started after accidently dropped in the water... I did try with the updates (I have Lumia Black) and different apps for compass but nothing hellped, even the hard reset and factory reset.... nothing. It just goes slowly in circle when I put the phone on a flat surface (GPS on). Oh and it was replaced in a mobile service store, like i said in a previous post we dont have a official nokia store or nokia service here (Bosnia & Herzegowina - city Banja Luka). So any more suggestions? The phone is great just the compass is really bad..
