Duplicate artboard with items in bleed area Illustrator CS5

I have an Illustrator CS5 file for business cards imposed 6 up, with double trims marks in bleed area only (not on artboard).
When artboard is duplicated, anything in the bleed area only doesn't duplicate too. InDesign can do it. Is there a way in Illustrator?

I think I need to clarify what I'm after.
I have extra crop marks (not bleed marks) because the cards are imposed 6 up.
So I need the extra crop marks plus the automatic corner crop marks.
These are placed on the bleed area only, so they will be cut off when printing is finished.
When the artboard is duplicated, anything on the bleed area only (ie the extra crop marks) are not duplicated too.
InDesign duplicates pages and bleed items no problem. Even Freehand can do it.

My bleeds are not showing up like they supposed to in Illustrator CS5. I set them up when I created a new document and clicked "Command + ;" and they are not there. Did anybody experience this kind of problem? Thanks.

I went to Preferences and changed Units to inches. After that when I created a new document, the bleed marks showed up. Really strange. I can't explain this. Thank you all for the discussion.

One point Mordy did not make in this excellent video is the ability to "nest" symbols. If the "tag" was a separate symbol it could be updated without altering each label symbol.

Lot of duplicates some with "waiting" and others are "purchased"

I've got a lot of duplicates in my iTunes library and was wanting to know if I can go ahead and delete the "waiting" version vs the "purchased" version. What would cause this in the first place?

I tried that Ben. I go to my purchased apps and click on update and it shows almost all of them as Installing but they obviously are not installing. Should I be plugged into the computer when I do this? I am right now

Problem with Direct Selection tool in Illustrator CS5.1

Lost my ability to transform a selection with the direct selection tool. When I select an item, I don't get all my little handles to do a transform directly on the object.....have lost patience trying to find the problem.

I'm having trouble with the installation of the Illustrator CS5 Trial version. I'v downloaded the trial but when I open it I get this error message:
I have tried downloading a number of times and run inot the same problem.
I am using a new macbook pro on IOS Lion.

Download again using another browser and choosing a different storage location.

Strokes overlapping in Illustrator CS5

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the overlapping strokes in Illustrator CS5.
It's a bit difficult to explain but, basically, I need one end of a stroke to go beneath another stroke, but the other end of the stroke has to go on top of something.
Here's an image to show what I mean:

I want the lines of the neck to go behind the collar. But if I move it to the back, then the bangs of hair on the back will overlap the lines of the neck, which I don't want either.
Is there a way to fix this?

You could also set the black stroke there to the Multiply blend mode - that should do it.

Window XP 64 bit (SP2) and Illustrator CS5?

Will Illustrator CS5 run on a 64 bit OS (windows) generally and does anybody know if it will run on Window XP 64 bit (SP2)? I tryied to find SP3 for Windows XP 64 bit as I think CS5 needs SP3 but haven't found anything.
Has anybody any knowledge or experience there?

supplied me with new software, Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator CS5 so I can finish projects at home on weekends or snow days or if i am home sick.
Adobe was very clear about Phot CS5 working on the 64Bit OS, but very little info or hard to find concerning Illust. CS5.

How do I capture illustration color to paste in full bleed area for children's book?

I am using InDesign CS5 and Photoshop CS5 and have scanned full color illustrations into Photoshop. I am preparing 7x10 saddle stitch and casebound books with the illustrations which need at a 1/8" bleed area. My problem is the illustrations have key elements right up to the edge of them. I need to add complementary colors to fill in the bleed area around them so I don't lose any of the originals. What is the best way to do this? Also, I need to copy colors from the illustrations and make separate pages of the colors to import into InDesign. What is the best method to do this? The colored pages will be the background with story text on them and reside opposite to the illustrations. Thank you for any help you can give me!

I usually do adding bleed area for illustration in PS even if it's have to be just plain color because sometimes even if color exactly the same it still prints little different (somehow).
First thing i do is make illustration 100% 300dpi to size which are used in Indesign. In that case there is no need to additional calculation for bleed area (usually just +5mm).
Then i convert Bakcground layer to Layer 0 (double click on Bakcground layer in Layer panel, press OK)
Then Image/Canvas Size Relative and enter bleed area size.
Then CTRL+click on Layer 0 (that's make selection).
Then Select/Inverse.
Then Select/Modify/Expand +2.
Then Edit/Fill Content-Aware (if you have at least CS5 else use stump etc to fill).
Then Deselect and with stamp/brush etc. make it all look more natural. Sometimes it's better use Content-Aware Fill by smaller selection.
For getting color use Eyedroper with Sample Size 3 or 5 and click on area which color you like. Then in tool panel double click on colorbox with your color and will apear dialog with all color information.
You can see those on Info panel but there is information for all posible colormodes (except greyscale).

Artboard and bleed areas

I'm testing Illustrator before buying - I have a simple question please. The attached document will clarify. I've created a document of 200 by 70. When I export it, the surrounding area (which I think is the bleed area but may not be) is far too big. I've set the bleed area to zero and zero but still the area is huge. I want the artboard to fit up against the document, which it seems to do when I'm working on it, and when I export as a PNG, when it's too large.

The drop shadow is what's causing it. The image needs all that area to completely render the drop shadow.
You can A) reduce the size of the drop shadow, or B) set the artboard to the exact size you want the image then click the export to the artboard then use Save for web, not the export command. (which will clip the shadow too).

How are GL Accounts assigned with item categories in Sales Order

We have number of sales document types and item categories. The sales order numbers are also different for hardware and software categories, so is the sales organization, plant and company code.
Usually, the hardware orders contain line items for software but the item category used is for hardware and therefore, it gets posted to the incorrect (hardware) GL account. Is this happening due to MATERIAL TYPE/CODES.
We are using separate GL accounts for both.
Where and what controls could be developed to prevent this?
Please let me know if you need further information.

Sales doc items with the status CLSD ARE being selected for month-end

We are working to improve month-end processing time for Sales Orders We use SAPKKA12 to set CLSD status on line items
SAP Help states: be sure that the status CLSD (closed) is set for all sales document items that you do not want to include in the period-end closing process. The sales document items with the status CLSD are then not selected for processing in the period-end closing process. Use report program SAPKKA12 to set the status.
This use to work (in 4.0). I have been on other projects and just brought back to this after several years (now in 5.0). Testing today shows that orders with CLSD status are being selected for month-end process.
Any ideas why this is so? System is selceting over 300,000 orders when well over half of them are set to CLSD. I do get a message that the order is not relevant to processing, but selecting the order and logging the message take time. and the logs are VERY long.

Does any one else have this issue that Sales documents with status CLSD are selected by RA (KKAK)?

75% of the orders are CLSD. and the system is still counting them. (we do not out put information messages)
I do understand that the orders are not analyzed, but all documentaion states that CLSD status is not selected, and in our 5.0 system, they are selected. In our 4.0 system, they were not selected.
Does this truely work for anyone in a 5.0 system?
