Duplicate blackberry calendar events, ACK

I've searched the forum and it appears other people have had sync issues with their blackberry calendars. Mine only syncs via google sync to my google calendar--no outlook, no BES, etc.  And the duplicate entries appear both on my computer screen in google calendar and on my blackberry handset.
I noticed this was happening a little while ago but not every entry duplicated--and also they only would show up two or three times.  However, yesterday and today--a few items duplicated 20 or 30 times and an item/event set to repeat every year on my calendar today--well, it must have duplicated 1k times because you can scroll and scroll and scroll.... and I think if I sat and tried to delete each entry it would take days even when I pull down to delete a handset screen at a time.
From reading, it appears this may be a google sync issue.  So I removed google sync from my handset. Then I erased my google calendar entries (big mistake) and tried to resync my blackberry calendar over to the google calendar by restoring sync but now the the BB calendar will not pull over to google calendar.
Of course I could LIVE without using google calendar although it is REALLY CONVENIENT since I share appt. items (view only)  amongst co-workers and family. And no, I never tried to sync their google calendars to my handset only my own calendar.
But even if I lived without the google calendar, I still have super slow calendar--it's literally like having an old fashioned paper calendar and having to turn 100 pages singly to get to the spot you want.....
I cannot delete my handset calendar as I will probably not show up to a dozen appointments in the next few days because I wouldn't know what they are.  Trying to use my calendar with its lag is not efficient at all.  I
Is there anyway I can just tell the calendar to delete any entries in my calendar from x time to y time on z day? Is there any solution to this besides deleting all or living with it?
Incidentally, Verizon told me the only solution is to delete or reset...and then said to ask RIM as it is there calendar with the problem now.

Try this:
Go to options > advanced options > service books > highlight desktop CICAL > hit your menu key and select delete > once gone hit your menu key again and select undelete. This should have brought it back. Check your appointments again and let me know if that worked.

  • Why does iCloud duplicate my calendar events?

All my events are duplicated on my MacBook calendar. Does anyone know why iCloud does this and how I can stop it? Also, why can't I delete pictures from Photo Stream?

For events...  on the Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Switch Calendars off then back on then restart the Mac. Hopefully that will stop the duplicates.
You can delete photos by Resetting your Photo Stream

  • Duplicates of calendar events

Trying to iSyn with my Palm has left my calendar littered with duplicates. I give up on syncing. Is there a way to remove the duplicates in my computer's iCal calendar without doing it one item at at time?

    Wonderful, thanks John!!
A couple things to point out from my own experience:
-For some reason, double-clicking on John's script opened it using PPC rather than Intel on my Macbook Pro. Dragging it to an already open Intel script editor did the trick.
-The process is slow and processor-intensive. I thought it was broken when I didn't see things happening after 10 minutes of ~95% processor useage. Then I watched the calendar more closely, and sure enough, one by one the duplicates disappared. Not a knock on John's script- I'm sure this is just the way it has to work.
Thanks again for taking the time to share such a handy tool with everyone!

  • How to duplicate calendar events copy paste?

I am trying to build my schedule on calendars with my iPad. I would like to put in my work schedule but I don't work the same days every week. I am looking for a way to copy paste/duplicate entries so I don't have to keep inputting them. Because I don't work the same days each week/month I can't use the repeat feature. I have tried a long press to copy and paste but it moves the whole event and doesn't duplicate it. Is there a way to do this? I have found that I can do this on my Macbook Pro in iCal and then it updates the iPad through iCloud but I would like to do it with my iPad because I have the iPad and iPhone with me all the time and the Macbook stays at home.

As you know by now, there is now way to copy and paste (drag and drop duplicate) iPad Calendar events. However, I have found a workaround that allows you to duplicate an event and place the duplicates in various dates on your Calendar. NOTE: This is probably not too practical for making a single copy, but it does save time and keystrokes for multiple copies.  In Calendar, tap on the event you want to duplicate and select Edit. In the Edit window select Repeat. In the Repeat window select Every Day, then tap Done to take you back to the Edit menu.  Tap End Repeat and select an end date that will give you the number of copies you want (e.g., if the original event date is 11/12 and you want 5 copies, select 11/17 as the End Repeat date.  Tap Done twice to return to the Calendar. Then just drag the Repeats/Copies to the various dates where you want them placed (works best in Month view). When you finish each drag/drop, you will get a "This is a repeating event" pop-up window; you need to select "Save for this event only."

  • Syncing multiple blackberry calendar accounts to one outlook

On my blackberry calendar, I have 5 different calendar accounts tied to 5 different email accounts:  work, school, personal,  facebook, device.  Each event appears with a different colour and that is very helpful for me.
The default service (CICAL and CMIME) are both the personal email account.
The calendar entries under the personal email account and the only one that syncs back to my outlook.  Even if I create the calendar event in outlook and sync it to my blackberry, it comes out as the personal email.
    Here is what I want:
    a) to be able to synch ALL blackberry calendars at once to outlook.
    b) When I create something in my outlook, it synchs to my blackberry as "work"
    c) optional:  the capability, if possible, to choose which ones to synch.  For example, synch all blackberry calendar events to outlook EXCEPT for facebook calendar events
    Please help.  Thanks!

The Desktop Manager only syncs with the default CICAL calendar on the device.
Take a look at this KB article. It talks about merging multiple calendars into one

  • Calendar events created on the BlackBerry before first sync are not synced with iCal

    Hi all,
I’m helping my uncle regarding problems and requests he has about his BlackBerry Bold 9000. One request he had is to be able to synchronize the calendar with iCal (he has a Mac). I thought this was a simple task, but it eventually appeared to be a nightmare. I spent several hours before finally giving up.
    This is the situation:
His BlackBerry’s calendar is full of events (past and future). iCal is empty. We would simply like to see all his BlackBerry’s events in iCal. We’re using BlackBerry Desktop Manager (last version as of 2010-02-25).
The first synchronization didn't changed anything. Events created after that, either in iCal or on the BlackBerry, appeared correctly on the other side after re-syncing.
Searching in the Knowledge Base and on this forum, I found KB13330 and KB19621. Do you think it is linked to this last issue?
I made a backup of the BlackBerry before doing any testing, and started over everything several times. I even cleaned all iCal and SyncServices data (and also tested with a new empty account on his Mac), but it didn’t change anything.

I have not signed up for or used i-cloud and do not believe I've entered anything via i-could (at least not on purpose :-) ).  I either enter an event in the calendar (i-calendar version 6.8--came on the laptop) OR into the calendar program on the i-phone 5 and then sync--I expect the event to then show up in the proper location on both devices--this is the way it has worked flawlessly with the MacBook Pro and i-phone 4 for a long time.
The operating system of the laptop is: 10.8.4 and the iphone 5 is: 6.1.4.  I believe both are current; I frequently search for updates and install them regularly.
Thanks for your time to assist me.  Our tech "guy" is also stumped by this--a long time Apple product user and very knowledgeable "techie."

  • Blackberry Calendar duplicates entries when receiving invites

When some (not all) invites are sent to me by email, my Blackberry records the invite as soon as the invite is received (not when it is accpeted), and then when I accept the invite in my Outlook (2010) software, and sync, the calendar entry duplicates in the Blackberry.  The Outlook calendar only shows the entry once.  As a result, my Outlook will show one  entry but Blackberry will duplicate the same entry.
If I simply just sync after the invite is recieved on my blackberry (i.e. when the blackberry records the entry) it will not appear on my Outllok calendar.  To have it show up on the Outlook calendar I need to accept the invite in Outlook.  However, as stated above once I do that and sync, the Outlook accpetance will duplicate on the Blackberry calendar.
Just verified, if I also receive an invite and don't yet accept it in either my Blackberry or Outlook, it shows up in the Blackberry calendar, and if I sync before I accept the invite, the sync duplicates the entry in the Blackberry calendar and it doesn't show up in Outlook as being accepted.
    Any ideas?

Might lead nowhere but as you have 8300s that have no Lotus notes issues and you have one 8300 that has an issue you have them under your control.  Take one of the functioning 8300s and do a sise by side compare and note with the errant 8300.
One place to check and confirm settings is Options>Date/Time
Check to see if both units have the same settings.  Quite frankly all else being equal that is the only area that I can think of that would account for a one hour time variance.

  • TS4118 How do you get rid of duplicate calendar events on iPad?

I just synced my iPad with my MacBook (which I do all the time) but this time, it resulted  in duplicating all my iPad calendar events (events do not appear as duplicates on my MacBook).  This happened immediately after I enabled iCloud syncing of my calendar.  I have now disabled Icloud syncing and I just synced my iPad with my MacBook again.  The events are still appearing in duplicate on my iPad.

iTunes settings for iPad and iPhone are independent.  If your iPhone doesn't have duplicate entries, check your settings when plugged into iTunes, then use the same settings for your iPad.  But, it really sounds as if you've simply enabled calendar syncing directly from your Mac when it's plugged into iTunes.  This will then update your iPad's calendar with whatever's in your Desktop calendar when you plug it in to iTunes.  Uncheck this setting in iTunes when you next have your iPad plugged in to sync, and the duplicates should disappear, leaving only those events pulled down from MobileMe.  The plug in sync option is for people who don't use MobileMe.

  • Duplicate calendar events with iCloud

I would like to use icloud for my calendar on my iphone and mac desktop.  When I turn this calendar on though it duplicates all the events on my desktop and iphone too.  Any suggestions how to use it without having everything duplicate?

I do know of a workaround that I found through a Google search. I have used this script for over a year now and it helps keep things clean for the most part. It works well. It has on occasion been a little buggy, but nothing that a Mac restart and 2 or 3 script runs couldn't fix. It has a readme that gives you proper installation instructions which basically consists of copying the script to your Entourage script menu. You then can access it within the Enourage application.
Here is a link to the site that has the fix: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/duplicates.html
Apple, please fix this soon! Or you may lose at least this customer to another phone technology.

  • Duplicate calendar events mac to iphone

I haven't found anyone yet who knows how to fix this problem.  My iCal sends 3 or 4 of the same calendar event to my iPhone.  I can't believe it was easier to sync iCal with my old Blackberry.  Before I look into downloading a different calendar application, I was hoping to find a solution.  This was happening on my iPhone 4 and is now happening on my iPhone 5.  (Mac OS X 10.6.8)
    Thanks!

  • Has BlackBerry forgot Switzerland in Calendar Events - Location?

    Hi all,
I just recently returned to a BlackBerry Q10 after about 3 years using android devices. I really missed the physical keyboard and the shortcuts that came with it.
After a few days of use I have discovered a problem with Calendar Events. When I enter an address here in Zurich, it should become a link that will launch BB Maps. It does not. I have tried various combinations of street, city, postal code etc. Even when I press the Map icon to search for an address and paste it into the event location, it does not become a link.
I also tried my old address in Paris and that didn't work either. It seems that the OS does not deal with addresses outside North America.
It would be OK if I could change the default map application to BeMaps Pro but I can't figure out how to do that either.
I was wondering if anyone has an idea or has had similar issues.
    Cheers
    Bruce

    Hi,
Yes it works if you put in a North American address.
    Example:
    1. Create a new calendar event.
    2. For "Location", type "2100 Yonge Street Toronto".
    3. Save new event.
    4. Open the event. The location will now be in blue font.
    5. Tap the location text and BB Maps will open and display the location on a map.
It does not seem to work with Swiss or French addresses even if I search using the Map app first and paste the location into the event. I tried a UK address " 58 Baker Street London" and that worked.
Let me know if it works the same for you.
    Cheers
    Bruce

  • BlackBerry OS6: Repeating Calendar Events Broken?

    Hi everyone,
I have been experiencing the strangest issue when trying to add a calendar event in BlackBerry OS6, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to work around this issue.
Basically, the problem happens when trying to book a repeating event at a time where the current GMT time differs from the current local time. For example, I am trying to book an event that happens every week at 10 pm edt on a tuesday, but BlackBerry 6 ends up booking the event every week at 10 pm EDT the Wednesday instead, presumably because the GMT date does indeed occur on the Wednesday. When I tried to set it to repeat on the Tuesday, it ended up repeating on both the Tuesday and Wednesday, leaving me out of further options.
Has anyone experienced this issue, and if so, are there any good work-arounds My current solution is to have my event say it is on Monday so that it books on Tuesday, but this is undesirable because it is displaying Monday when you view the event series.

    Hi Kim,
Good question. That .plist file is just a place where iCal keeps track of your preference settings. Sometimes that file gets corrupted and cause all sorts of strange behavior. Deleting the preferences is just a first thing to try when experiencing strange behavior. In iCal, resetting the preferences isn't a big deal. In some programs there are many layers of preferences so you might want to think twice before deleting, or at least write down all the preferences before doing so.
Whether or not you need to delete depends on your problem (assuming you're having one). Are you? If so you might want to describe the problem here but it won't hurt to delete the preferences; you'll just need to reset them if you want anything set other than the default (eg I have time Zone support checked).

  • HT1296 When syncing to ipod and ipad i get duplicate contacts and calendar events

Probllems syncing contacts and calendare events. I get dups and triplicates

How are you syncing? Are you syncing through itunes, icloud or both? Most issues come from syncing the same data/content from more than one source.

  • Duplicate calendar events

I have my iPad2 linked to my Entourage calendar and iCloud storage.  I have several duplicated calendar events, and I can't figure out how to delete them from my iPad2.  They are not duplicated on my iMac's Entourage.

Unless I had to do others things, such as shutting off the iPad2 or something else, this did not work for me. I do believe there is a connection to iCloud's old files or the like, but I don't know how to get rid of anything on the calendar in iPad2.  Why is there no delete function?
