Duplicate calendar appointments after syncing outlook

I just bought the iPad 2 and I am new to iCloud, I also have iPhone 4S. I am getting duplicate appointments and I am so confused and usually god with technology :-) help someone

great
I am using outlook, gmail contacts, face book and tango contacts to sync.
I had assumed my phone would have recognized they were the same contacts
and merged what was necessary and missing with each - like
my Motorola Bionic did, but alas it did not and required me to down load an
app that sort of, kind of worked.  This seems to be a pretty consistent
problem with the software with the phone.  Maybe the new operating system
Jellybean will solve it?  Please keep me posted

  • How to eliminate duplicate calendar entries after sync with iCloud ?

I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to IOS5 and set up sync through iCloud. Now all my iCal entries appear twice on the iPhone, even though they appear only once on my Mac mini (running Lion).
How do I stop this happening? And how do I get a clean calendar on the iPhone?
    Neil

Ok, I solved my own problem. I thought I had unchecked "Sync Calendar" in iTunes on the Mac mini, but it turns out I had not. As soon as I unchecked that box and let the system delete that calendar, all the duplicate entries went away.

  • HT203216 iPhone will not update with new outlook calendar events after sync

iPhone 4S will no longer update with new outlook calendar events after sync

    another user had the fix:
FIXED IT! After a painful and time-consuming couple of months.
I found the solution on another help forum, and in a nutshell it is this:
I had set up some Outlook appointments with a reminder set at "0" minutes i.e. to remind me at the time of the event.
On the iPhone there isn't an option for "0" minutes - instead it says 'at the time of the event' (or something similar)
When the iphone tried to sync the Outlook items it didn't know what to do, and after several minutes of 'deliberating' (which looked like a very long calendar sync in iTunes) it then just aborted the process without syncing anything on Calendar.
So I went into calendar list view, and changed any appointment with a reminder set to "0" minutes, and bingo, it all started working again.
Try it! I hope it works for others too.. (repost of solution provided by Silvermum)

  • Double Calendar Entry after Syncing

After syncing today, I now have double entries on my device.  They are all future appointments that were on Outlook, not ones I had entered on the device.  When I try to delete one says "appointment deleted externally.  Changes will be lost and the viewer closed."
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you have the Calendar perfect in outlook follow this steps, after this you have the calendar perfect.
If you are having errors in your Calendar on your BlackBerry, and you wish to delete the entire Calendar database on your BlackBerry, follow the directions below. Make certain you have a good copy of your Calendar or Contacts elsewhere, as this procedure will complete delete ALL Calendar entries on your BlackBerry.
    1. Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
    2. Open up Backup/Restore > Advanced.
    3. From Advanced you'll see a split pane screen. The left pane is what is going to be backed up from your device and the right is a list of the currently existing databases.
    3. Highlight on the right side your Calendar database and click the arrow in the middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information over and prepare it for back-up.
    4. Once the back-up has completed, hit the Clear button at the bottom to erase and clean out the entire Calendar database.
    5. After it's finished, it will ask you if you want to save the back-up you've created, say yes and check the device to make sure the calendar has been properly cleared out. Now, resync the necessary contact information and you should be set to go.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

  • Lost calendar events after sync

after syncing my mac book air with my iphone 4 i lost all my past and future calendar events on my macbook and iphone.
I have backups on time capsule:
Q: how do i recover my approx 900 calendar events from time capsule into my calendar on macbook without copy and paste 900 of them into their respective date on my now empty calendar?
    appreciate help

I can't get my iPhone 3GS to sync calendars with either iCal or Outlook.  Everything I entered into my iPhone calendar is GONE. The data I previously entered into and synced from my iPhone is still in my Outlook calendar, which used to sync seamlessly, but I can't get iCal to import the Outlook calendar, either (my assumption being that the iPhone would be more apt to sync to an Apple device more than a Microsoft application). The only calendar events that sync from my Mac Pro to my iPhone are the few that are in iCal.  Office 2011 for Mac just had a big update, too - I wonder if there are multiple culprits here.

  • Iphone 3G makes duplicate contact entries after syncing.  I went from about 125 contacts to 1,965.  Some contacts are duplicated 30 times!  I tried deleting the info and resyncing it.  Same problem.  Not using mobile me.  Syncing with google account.

Duplicate entries after syncing.  My phone went from about 125 contacts to 1,965.  Some contacts are duplicated 30 times!  Tried deleting the contacts and resyncing- same thing.  I don't use Mobile me.  My contacts are synced through my google account.   I tried syncing through outlook and there were 0 contacts on my phone.  Its a 3G so some of the functions like making groups are not available.  Please HELP!!!

and i guess i should mention i bought it at best buy and they ported my phone #'s from my google phone and when i got home i sync'ed it with itunes and it doubled my contacts.

  • Duplicate Calendar Entries after Setting up iCloud

I just installed iOS 5 on my iPhone, and upgraded to the latest and greatest OS X Lion on my iMac to use iCloud. Unfortunately, it appears to have created duplicate entries for all of my calendar entries. Rather than syncing my existing iCal calendars, it looks like it created all new 'iCloud' versions of those same calendars so I have double of everything. (For example, before I had 'Home' and 'Work', etc. now I have 'iCloud Home' and 'iCloud Work') This makes no sense to me...am I just supposed to delete my old calendars and just go with the iCloud ones now? Why wouldn't they automatically do that for you if that's the case? Not very intuitive. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Additionally, from what I can tell, if I create a new entry under one of the iCloud calendars, it WILL show up on my iPhone. However, on my iPhone, I DO NOT have those same 'iCloud Home' calendars listed, just one that says 'All iCloud'. Unfortunately, that means I can't create a new calendar entry that syncs with iCloud. If I create an entry under 'Work' on my iPhone, it DOES NOT sync with iCloud and show up on iCal on my Mac. There is no way this is correct behavior, as that is one of the main benefits of syncinc calendars.
Does anyone have any solutions for these issues? Thank you.

Okay, got it sorted; hopefully this will help others out.
My situation: calendars were working fine on my Mac, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS and iCloud up until Friday evening when I activated my new 4S.  Then all heck broke loose, and my calendar events started triplicating (quadrupling, in some cases).  The calendars themselves did not, just the events.  I believe what caused it is that I restored my 4S from a backup of my 3GS, and didn't turn off iCloud on the 3GS before doing so.  So the system got confused and started replicating things like mad.  Then I remembered Time Machine!
    Here's the solution:
    1. Backup jacked-up calendars on your Mac (just in case, you can always go back and manually fix them...gag).
    2. Turn off iCloud syncing on your devices (all of them), including your Mac; this will prompt you to delete the data on the devices, and that's okay (take a deep breath...)
    3. You should now have no calendar data on any device; it should only reside out on iCloud; verify this by logging into the site and checking
    4. In Finder, navigate to <you_user_dir>/Library and make sure you have a Calendars folder (hold Option and click the Go menu and you'll see it the Library folder...they hid it in Lion); don't open the folder, just make sure it's there
    5. From the Library folder, enter Time Machine and select a date you know was working (in my case, I had to go back to before Wednesday to make sure iCloud was not in use on my machine at the time, you might have to do the same, depending on when you started using iCloud)
    6. Click the magic Restore button in the lower right-hand corner; you'll be fast-forwarded to the same folder in the present, and asked if you want to replace or keep the duplicate items; choose Replace
    7. After the copy is done, open iCal; you should see all your events restored to their normal glory
    8. Log into the iCloud.com website and nuke all of your calendars; yes, you read that right, kill them all...or you'll be back at square one. Because you have to have at least one calendar, I created one called "junk" and left it in there temporarily
    9. Back on your Mac desktop, go to System Preferences and turn on Calendars in the iCloud control panel; if you have iCal open still, you might have a freak-out moment where everything disappears (I did...).  Don't panic, this is normal; if you look at the website, you'll see your calendars start appearing there, and shortly the same will hold true for iCal on your Mac
    10. Once you've confirmed that everything looks spiffy, delete the "junk" folder on iCloud.com
    11. One device at a time (I did my 4S first, then my iPad 2), turn on iCloud for Calendar syncing; just to be careful, let each device finish updating before you turn on the next (it probably doesn't matter, but I'm paranoid at this point).
    12. Voila, you should now have all calendars in sync across all your devices, your Mac, and iCloud.com
Hopefully this helps some people out; it's the only way I could get it to work and restore my calendars back to a useable state.
    Take care!

  • Duplicate iCal entries after sync

My sister just bought a Verizon iPhone, and did a sync using iTunes. Her iPhone is fine. But her iCal now has duplicate entries for every date. First off, how do i clear all those out, and second, what do you think went wrong?

How long has she had the iPhone?
Did she sync the iPhone with iTunes right away before manually entering any calendar events on her iPhone, or did she manually enter a number of calendar events on her iPhone before syncing? If the latter, are only the calendar events she manually entered on her iPhone duplicated in iCal on her Mac? If so, how many calendar events was she able to manually enter on her iPhone before syncing with iTunes and iCal since she purchased the iPhone?
If iCal is used - iCal includes calendar events and so does the iPhone before the first sync for this data, a merge prompt should be provided with the first sync for this data. The other option is replacing whatever calendar events are available on the iPhone with what is available in iCal.
First step, reset the sync history on her Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application.
Next, remove all duplicate calendar entries in iCal on her Mac. Certainly there can't be that many calendar entries that were manually entered on her iPhone before the first sync with iCal.
When iCal is cleaned up - all duplicates removed, under the Info tab for her iPhone sync preferences with iTunes below the Advanced section at the bottom, select Calendars for replace info on this iPhone. Select Apply followed by a sync.

  • Duplicate calendar entries after switching to z10, need to clear my local calendar

    Hi,
While transferring my data from a bold 9900 to my new z10 using BB Link I ended up with duplicate calendar entries, one from my account calendar and another from my local.  Some of the entries don't show up as reoccurring so it's difficult to remove.  How do I clear all the local entries?  I tried searching and only found solutions for the previous versions of the desktop software.
    Thank you,

    Hey z10bbuser,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
You can not clear individual databases in BlackBerry 10.  You can clear the calendar individually by manual deletion or you can do a security wipe.  This is found under Settings>Security & Privacy.  Please Note: A Security wipe will erase all data and installed applications on the BlackBerry Z10.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • How do i get rid of calendar info after syncing with outlook calendar?

i synced my fifth gen ipod 80GB with my outlook calendar, now i get appointments popping up all the time which is really annoying but i don't know how to stop it from happening... any help appreciated

You only need to post once. You have to have some patience. I posted this response in your other question as well.
Don't open those emails, swipe across them in the preview window to bring up the red delete button and use that.
If the mail app is frozen and you can't do anything in it, close it from the recents tray and reboot the iPad.
From your home screen, double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • E71 Calendar appointments not syncing with Outlook

    Hi there,
Through MFE, I synch Outlook 2003  with the E71 to update email, calendar and contacts.
Recently, the calendar function is not syncing correctly.
    Issues are:
    - Items will drop out of calendar sporadically
    - When I resync to add in dropped off items, they are still missed out
This makes me think it is a particular feature of the appointments that are stopping them being pulled across but there is no common factor amongst all the appointments.
Vodafone advised that Nokia are creating a fix, but I can't find any details of this.  They have said its likely to be appointments that are tentative, but this doesn't match my experience.
Has anyone else had similar issues, or knows a solution?
    Thanks

Well, since Apple created the new iCloud for Windows, I guess the sync doesn't work automaticly anymore.
    That is BS.

    And so is this.

  • IPhone calendar problems after syncing

I know I must have done something wrong - I finally synced my iPhone to my iCal on my MacBook and now I can't go back into my iPhone calendar and delete or edit any existing appointments on my iPhone. What gives? Is there a quick fix to this? I am new to this whole experience so be easy on me...

I also use Outlook, iPhone4, windows XP on my PC......everything EXCEPT my notes syncs.
When I plug in my iPhone, and go to the info tab, notes is clicked to sync but it won't.
    Any ideas?
After reading a few others post on the same subject, what worked for them was rebooting your PC or Mac, doing a RESET on your iPhone and try again. You may wish to add a new note to both the computer and iPhone before syncing and see if that helps.

  • Duplicate contacts created after sync

    I support a customer with a bb:
He indicates that he sync's his BB with Desktop Manager and today after doing so he see's two duplicate contact lists:  default and "desktop".   They both contain identical contact information.   He wants to get rid of one of them.  Which one can he remove and how?

additional note.  Customer is now finding that the sync is now trying to pick up everything that has ever been on the calendar as a "all day event" (as opposed to haveing a specific time entered) and add it to the current day.

  • Wrong time of my appointments after sync. with Out...

    Hi there,
I work for a company that has offices in Japan, Portugal and Austin,Texas.
So anyone of these 3 parts of the world can schedule meetings, if someone shcedules a meeting in Portugal or any GMT place, I have got no problem.
If someone in Japan schedules a meeting this doesn't work very well.
    Pratical example:
Someone in Japan scheduled a meeting every Monday 9:00 GMT, in Outlook it appears correctly:
    Portugal: 9:00 (GMT +1 -> Daylight savings)
    Japan: 17:00 (GMT + 9)
When it is transfered to my phone the meeting appears on:
    Sunday 18:00 !?!?
Since this meeting occurs every Monday and Wednesday:
The meeting will appear again on Tuesday 18:00
    Why is this happening??
My timezone on the phone is set to GMT +1:00 Lisbon, the date is also correct and my PC is also on the same timezone...
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks,
    Luis Pinho

The "Time Zone Support" setting doesn't mean what we might think. If you turn it ON you have to select a time zone and the iPhone will always use that time zone for events. So if you get an invite for a meeting in a different time zone, you have to use your brain and record the time that's right for your location in the calendar.
On the other hand, if you turn it OFF and have Location Services ON, when you're in a different time zone, all your appointments will adjust to the proper time for that zone. So for example, I teach a class that's 1000 EDT. It showed up as 0800 when I was in Mountain Time.
I like this feature, save for one thing: What do you do if you get a call from a student in EDT requesting a meeting at Noon after you get back from MT? There appears to be no way to set the time zone of events as they are created in Calendar on the iPhone. What I did was create the meeting for 1000 MT and it adjusted to the correct hour (noon) when I got back. I would've preferred, however, to make the appt. for noon and set it to Eastern, as I would with iCal.
Does anyone know if Calendar on the iPhone can function like this?

    WHY?!!!!
