Duplicate calendar items iOS 5

After upgrading my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 5, I now have two entries for EVERY SINGE calendar item.
I'm syncing calendar items with Outlook 2010 (Outlook 2010 does NOT have duplicate entries, just the iPod Touch).
HELP!
--Owen

Try this!
Step 1:
In iTunes... Select your device > Go to the info tab > Uncheck Sync Calendars, contacts and anything else you have synced to iCloud.
*There is small print that will tell you having your device synced to both iTunes and the cloud results in duplicate info, it's small so it's easy to miss.
Step two:
iCloud.com > sign in/set up profile > select the calendars button > Look to the left, you should see a list of all your calendars > Edit (top right corner of the calendars list) and delete the duplicates you find.
This should work for you, let me know if you have any more trouble.

  • Duplicate calendar items

all of a sudden (probably after this latest release), i am getting duplicate calendar items in my iphone on certain events. from what i can tell, if i create an event in ical and sync the iphone, the event is put on the phone correctly. if i then edit the event in ical and re-sync, it puts a duplicate event with the new information on the iphone, instead of just updating the event. it's highly annoying and i don't remember it ever being like this. anyone know how to fix this??

I had this problem months ago on my iPod Touch (roughly when this dormant thread was started, before the 2.0 update, I think). With that update, it went away, but has recently resurfaced, perhaps with the 2.1 update or perhaps since then. I didn't notice the resurfacing of the problem until this morning, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
The symptoms: When I create a calendar event in iCal, it syncs properly to my iPod. When I create a calendar event on the iPod, it does not sync to iCal. When I modify or delete an iCal-created event on my iPod, the event is not modified in iCal, and the original event is copied from iCal to the iPod, so I wind up with duplicate events (or the deleted event reappears).
This morning, I overwrote all calendar data on my iPod, to no avail. When I first had the problem months ago, I reset the sync history and then reset the whole iPod, also to no avail; I haven't tried those more drastic steps recently.
Is anyone else still/again having similar problems? Any solutions besides telling Apple and waiting for a fix?

  • Duplicates & triplicate Calendar items on my ipad after using the iCloud..

i have duplicates Calendar items on my ipad after using the iCloud.. what am i doing wrong?? and how do i fix it?

This solved my triplicate calendar issue:
    (short version)
Settings ==> iCloud. Turn off Calenders.
Delete exisiting calendar information when prompted.
Settings ==> iCloud. Turn on Calenders.
    Restart Calender App.
    (verbose version)
On your iOS devices go to Settings App ==> iCloud. Turn OFF Calendar Syncing. It will ask if you want to keep or delete previous Calendars on your phone, Choose Delete. Restart your Calendar app and see if it's squeaky clean. I had just birthdays and anniverseries. If you are still seeing items other than those (like birthdays) generated by the device then you are bringing in calendars from multiple sources. You'll need to turn off the other sources (if you have their entries duplicated already in the cloud).
Now go back to Settings ==> iCloud and turn the calender back on. Restart the Calendar app, everything should look good now.

  • Duplicate Outlook Calendar items on my iPad2-PINK & BLUE!

After I connected to iCloud I got duplicate calendar items - just on my iPad2, not on my PC's Outlook (2010). I now have Pink and Blue duplicate calendar items... Very pretty - but annoying. I see that Pink means from my pc - meaning before using iCloud, and blue meaning iCloud calendar and calendar items entered on the iPad2. Why do I get both? And who do items entered on the iPad2 NOT get synced over to Outlook? This kind of defeats the idea of syncing, if it doesn't go both ways, and it duplicates things.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Larry

    I found the answer.
    1. plug the phone in to your computer or wall plug or this does not work!
    2. Go to settings>Icloud> and turn off calander sync. Then delete all items. Now your iphone calendar should be blank.
    3. Now got to Icloud.com and log in using apple ID.
    4. Look at your calendar. On the left edit your calendars and remove all of them. Now your cloud calendar should be blank.
    5. Now go back to your Iphone cloud setting and turn calandar sync on. After awhile your Iphone calander should match your Outlook calnder and your Icloud calander should too.

  • Duplicate Outlook Calendar Items after upgrade to os5

    Hi,
I upgraded to os 5 the other day on my Iphone 4. I have an MSN email account with an MSN calendar. I have a lot of daily calendar items which are like reminders. I usually delete that days recurring reminder each day or 2 to keep a clean calendar. After I upgraded I switched to the Cloud. After that sync, I have duplicate calendar items for EVERY item on my calendar back years ago. This includes both  onetime items and recurring (daily ,weekly, yearly) items.
I found an old post that said to turn off sync calendar and deletethe items off the phone then turn back on. Well, I went into setting>mail>cloud and turned off calendar sync and waited 10 minutes. It deleted the duplicates but kept all the rest. I then went and turned calendar syncback on and all the duplicates showed up again.
Any ideas on how to get rid of the duplicates?

  • Ios 5.0.1 duplicate calendar entries

I've just updated to ios 5.0.1 on my iphone 4. Now I get these strange duplicate calendar entries appearing on my iphone calendar, which aren't present at all in iCal on my mac???.  I've never had these issues before and I thought that it may have something to do with iCloud, however I'm running OS X 10.6.4 on my laptop and I don't have iCloud settings to edit (I know I require OS X Lion for this to be available) via my settings on my mac.
    Now to the I've list:
I've tried deleting the items manually on my iPhone (delete one event or all future instances), but they just don't go.
I've tried deleting my iCloud account altogether on my iPhone, however when I resync via iTunes all they same duplicate events return to my phone???
I've tried ticking the "Advanced/Replace information on this iPhone/Calendars" and then syncing again, but the same duplicate items return.
I've searched forum post after forum post and I can't find a solution to this problem.
I've removed most of the remaining hair through sheer frustration...
Basically the Calendar on my iPhone is totally useless now.
I won't be updating to OS X Lion as all of my audio software/hardware, of which I rely on on a daily basis, works perfectly with 10.6.4
Does anyone have a fix for this?

    Oops! spoke too soon!
All seemed to be working fine, but after adding a test item into my calendar on my iPhone, all the duplicate entries magically appeared again.???
So now the annoying phantom duplicate entries are on my iPhone, but strangely not on my calendar on the iCloud.com web site and NOT on my calendar on my Mac.
I don't think I can waste anymore time stuffing around with this.  Paper diary for me again I think...
I'm very disappointed as I was very much looking forward to shared calendars!
I hope Apple comes up with a fix soon.
    Here's hoping...

  • How can I get my Microsoft exchange calendar items in the cloud

I am changing jobs, but all of my personal calendar items and contacts are in the work Exchange server.  Is there a way to transfer those items to the iCloud?

That's correct.  You can only view things you've sync with icloud i.e contacts/calendar/etc.
You can't view your icloud backup on icloud.
If you perform an icloud backup, then all your pictures in your camera roll is backup to the cloud.  iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
you should be importing your pictures to your computer iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer  that way you can view it anytime you want on your PC.

  • Contacts and calendar items disappear when exchange server is off

    Hi All
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and it's most frustrating. My iphone is setup to sync over the air to our corporate exchange server. It seems that when the server is down for repair/patching ALL my contacts and calendar items disappear from my iphone. This doesn't seem to happen if the phone is out of signal?
I know that I can sync directly with Outlook, however this would then mean that the phone is only updated when synced with my laptop at work. If I sync both over the air AND with Outlook, I get duplicates of everything in my calendar.
I'm not restoring my iphone to factory defaults to get rid of the duplicates and go back to over the air sync only.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get calendar and contacts to work "offline" when the exchange server is down?
Main PC is running Windows 7 and exchange is 2007. This problem is only recent, I think in the last month of two. Nothing has changed other than the last few firmware updates from Apple.

hi, cheers for the info. That would make sense, however how come when I'm out of signal and not connected to wifi, the data doesn't also disappear as that too would render the server "unavailable".
Is there a way to make the iphone keep a copy of the data much the same as "offline mode" in Outlook where you can still browse your email, calendar and contacts when the server is offline, and it picks up where it left off when the server is available again?
I appreciate this may not be a "problem" as such, but is frustrating as all my contacts and calendar live in Outlook and I can't function without them

  • Calendar in iOS 6 cannot find "**"

I use a double asterisk (**) in the description of certain important calendar items (e.g. "Meeting with Provost **").  In all iterations of Calendar on Mac OS X and iOS up until now, it's been possible to search for "**" in the calendar to get a list of calendar items containing those characters, but iOS 6 seems to have broken this.  Since the update to iOS 6, putting Calendar in List view and typing "**" (with or without the quotes) in the Search box fails to find anything.  I tried changing the marker to "++" but searching for that doesn't work either.  Any explanations, suggestions, or workarounds?

Update: I've tried using various other punctuation (colon, dollar sign, at sign, etc.) and none of them work either. Is this a deliberate change, or a bug?

  • How to restore calendar items from Entourage 2008 after upgrade to Lion (10.7.5)?

I held off upgrading to Lion because I had a bunch of old email I wanted to convert first. But now that Apple is no longer offering security updates for Snow Leopard, I decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, after the Lion upgrade most of my calendar items in Entourage 2008 disappeared (and those that remained appeared in duplicate).
I think I should be able to access an uncorrupted version of my Main Identity folder for Office 2008 … because I have an Automator workflow that creates a daily backup, and that backup should be available through Time Machine. I turned off Time Machine after this calamity so that I wouldn't overwrite my Entourage Backup folder.
I need the July 8 or 9 version of:  ~ / Documents / Entourage Backup / Main Identity.
But when I select the Entourage Backup folder and open Time Machine, all the Finder windows behind the current one go dark and I can't move backward toward an earlier date (I've done this with Time Machine turned off and on). This makes me think the Entourage Backup folder has not been getting backed up recently, or perhaps ever. Ugh.
When I check my Time Machine preferences, only the following items are shown as excluded from backups:
So it seems I should be in the clear and able to access Entourage Backup.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong in trying to restore from Time Machine? Or anything else I might be doing wrong?
    Many thanks.

When I check my Time Machine preferences, only the following items are shown as excluded from backups:
Not sure how any of this relates to a Time Capsule....one of the hardware products that we support in this forum.....but we will try to help.
Main Identity is located as follows on your Mac:
Macintosh HD > Documents > Microsoft User Data > Office 2008 Identities > Main Indentity
Unfortunately, you have been excluding Microsoft User Data from your backups, so there is nothing to recover or restore.

  • Can´t create an afternoon Outlook calendar item on iCloud

I am using iCloud to synchronize items with my Mac. Outlook is configured with three calendars, its native calendar tied to my Outlook email address, a second calendar that I do not use tied to a generic email address that I do use, and the iCloud calendar. I am on temporary assignment in Mexico and the standard language setup is the following: OS menus are in English. Outlook menus are in English. Email text editing language is Spanish. Calendar items are in Spanish. The date format is Spanish using a.m. and p.m.
If I try to create an item in my iCloud calendar from Outlook, it will not allow me to specify a time in the afternoon. Any attempt to do so still results in getting an appointment for the same time in the morning (or, rather, very early morning). For example, I create an appointment for 2 p.m. It ends up being for 2 a.m. If I change it to 3 p.m., it ends up being changed to 3 a.m.
The workaround is to set up the item in the Outlook calendar for either of the email addresses, then dragging it into the iCloud calendar. Alternatively, the incorrect item in the iCloud calendar can be dragged into the Outlook calendar, adjusted to p.m., and then dragged back into iCloud.
Naturally, this does not happen on the Mac.
Is anyone aware of a fix for this?
The Mac is a MacBook Pro running Mavericks, but this problem really happens independently from the Mac. The version of Windows is Windows 7 Enterprise, 6.1.7601 (SP1). I am using Outlook 2013. iCloud control panel is 3.1.

Taken from the main screen of the iCloud.com website:
"To use iCloud, first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion."
    Did you follow this advice?

  • Cannot move calendar item from iCloud to Exchange calendar

When I add a new calendar item in iOS 7 calendar app, it allows me to select either my Exchange calendar or any of the iCloud calendars.
However, some (or perhaps all) event invitations appear pre-destined for the iCloud calendars, and when I select those events and try to reassign them to other calenadars, I only get the iCloud calendars as options.
Is there any way to move a calendar item from iCloud to Exchange?
    Thanks

  • Duplicate calendar entries - but not related to any kind of sync

I went on holiday for 3 weeks and during that time my iPod touch discharged completely. When I came back and charged it up again I saw that it had reset its date back to what I presume is the factory default of 01 January 1970. I set the date and time to the current date and time - and then discovered that all my MONTHLY and YEARLY repeating calendar entries (but not the WEEKLY ones) have all been duplicated. This is not the result of any kind of sync up since (following a complete system rebuild following a virus attack) I have not yet reinstalled iTunes on my PC and I have not knowingly synced with Outlook because I almost never use it. If I delete an entry that has been duplicated then BOTH entries are deleted. Has anyone seen this behaviour and can tell me how I can remove the duplicate entries? I have looked for posts relating to duplicate calendar entries but they all deal with syncing-related problems whereas mine is not. Thanks.

I have a similar issue. I bought an ipod touch last week and today I synced my entourage contacts, and address book. The address book entries are fine, but I have duplicates on my calendar. Now, its not duplicating per day, its duplicating the previous or next day. For instance, I have a birthday listed for today, it will also show for yesterday or tomorrow. What is causing this? I've checked the calendar on entourage and ical and both show correctly. (ical copies items from entourage)

  • Duplicate Calendars showing up

In iCal, I now have two versions of each of my three Calendars showing up: one set under [email protected], and another under MYNAME @me.com. How do I get rid of one or the other?

    Read this background thread.
iTunes won't automatically eliminate dupes. It has two options to display them. File > Display Duplicates lists all items with the same Name. When holding down shift (option on a Mac, I think) File > Display Exact Duplicates lists items with the same Name, Track #, Disc #, Artist & Album.
Once displayed you still have to decide which tracks to eliminate. One of the common errors people make is to delete all the files shown whereas you want to keep one of each repeating group. With large numbers of files making these selections is tedious, if not almost impossible. Add that that to the fact that in some cases you need to preserve the file when deleting and in others you will want to discard it (and you can't easily tell which from looking at the information displayed in iTunes) and you can see why it is best to automate the process.
By all means make a suggestion at  iTunes Feedback but in the meantime if you want a tool that works I have one for you, for free, and I'm happy to try my best to explain how it works. It's about to get an update which will let you keep the best quality (read largest) version when you have ripped the same tracks in multiple formats/bitrates over time and now want to tidy up.
