Duplicate Chroma Settings?

Hi!
I did a search on the forums, and couldn't find a thread that covered this specifically...
I have several clips that I shot in front of a green screen. As I'm editing, I am having to go in and key out the background each and every time. I am using FCE 4.0.1
Is there a way to "drag and drop" chroma settings from one clip to another so I'm not reproducing this work over and over?

1. Apply the key to the first clip.
2. Copy the clip.
3. Select the rest of the clips you want to apply the settings to.
4. Go to +Edit > Paste Attributes+ (Opiton-V)
5. Select Filters
6. Click OK.
5. Adjust the settings for individual clips as necessary.
Paste attributes will put the key filter with the settings you specified on all of the other clips. You should then tweak the settings on those clips if they need adjusting.
Alternatively, you could open up the clip with the key into the Viewer, click on the filters tab, highlight all of the clips you want to apply it to, and drag the key filter onto the other clips in the timeline.

Duplicate calendar settings on ipad2

Anyone know what settings I have to set in either itunes or on my ipad for me to stop having duplicate calendar settings on my ipad2? I don't have that problem with my contacts, just the calendar. I suspect it has something to do with icloud, but I am not sure. I am on Snow Leopard on an i7 iMac OSX v 10.6.8 and iOS v 5.0.1

Click on the Calendars icon in the upper left corner. You should see something lke this:
If you see a SECOND entry labeled "On My Mac" or something like that, there's your problem. One of the two should be deleted. The ICLOUD set automatically downloads from iCloud whenever you log on. The "On My Mac" set is local to your hard drive but it does sync to iCloud. If you do NOT have any other devices (computers, iPads, iPods, etc.), it does not matter which one you use. If you do have other devices, the "ICLOUD" set is the one that you should use on all devices.

Duplicate Server Settings for Backup

I am wanting to duplicate my current Apple Server settings (10.4.8) into a new, virgin Server installation. We are basically only using IMAP mail and VPN on the server.
I have found "migration" instructions from 10.3 to 10.4, that show how settings can be saved to a USB flash stick and then used to install the new server. I haven't been able to get these instructions to work however, the new server installation doesn't see the flash stick.
Does anyone have any comprehensive instructions for this kind of 10.4 - 10.4 migration?

what settings are you trying to migrate?
Are you replacing the existing server or adding another (if replacing, we'll want to give you cloning instructions- it's much easier)
What hardware, are they both PPC?
What might help you... in ServerAdmin, when you click a service, then click settings, you will see a document icon in the bottom left of the window. If you drag this icon to the desktop, you will save a plist of that services config. Do this for all services you wish to copy the config from. Move those documents to the new server ANY way you can, you can use mac.com, email, file server, burn a CD, it doesn't matter.
On the new server, open Server Admin, then the service you wish to config, click settings, then drag the plist to the ServerAdmin window. This will load all settings from the old to the new.
But.... don't go through all those steps if your intention is to replace the old server... cloning can be much much easier.
If you need more of an assist, please post more about what exactly you want to copy from one server to the other. Explain what services will be in use on each machine.

Chrome settings manager doesn't work

Since September 16th, I have been having two problems with Flash Player in Chrome on Windows 7 system.
1) The settings manager page just has text on the left hand side and white space in the rest, so I can't reset Flash settings. Please see image.
2) Click-to-play for flash player works sporadically: sometimes it's okay, sometimes nothing happens when I click.
Any ideas, anyone? Thank you.

I did the clean install, but the online manager still won't work.
I tried to install Chrome, and there I can see the panels. So I think there must be some kind of problem with my IE 8.
But, I wanted to use the settings manager to disable the automatic upgrades. As I can now understand, though, Flash Player does not normally do automatic upgrades, and there is no way to disable this by settings manager.
So I have now a different problem. I want to keep an older version of Flash. But everytime I install this older version and connect to Internet, Flash automatically upgrades to latest version (13).
I don't do anything, it makes everything by itself. Then I have to uninstall, install again the older version, but at the next connection to Internet, I find again the latest version.
How can I disable this and keep the older version? Please, I need to solve this.

How to duplicate layer settings, including soft erased parts

Is there a tool, or command in photoshop that allows me to transfer the exact settings from a layer on to another layer, which would include any erasing I've done, or opacity parts, or soft erased edges etc.?

If you use a layer mask to do your masking (erasing and such) you can move or copy
the layer mask to different layers. Or load the selection from the layer mask and use the
selection on another layer.
If you want an exact copy of the layer, you can use Layer via Copy.

Duplicate user account OR migrate iPhoto/iWeb between users

I've seen this question asked several times before, but have not seen an answer!
So, with as many details as I can muster:
I have, on my computer, 4 user accounts: my admin account, my user account, my boyfriend's user account, and our business account... All separate, keeps things nice and tidy (sort of!).
I have a new and separate project that I'm starting to work on which involves lots of images, and new websites, and new and different stuff that's necessary for the project, but just clutter in any of the other accounts.
Because this project started out as something my man wanted to play around with, all of the beginnings of this are in his iPhoto and his iWeb, and they're well organized. I've not had luck so far moving the iPhoto and iWeb libraries to a new/blank user and maintaining the organization that I've spent time and attention making right.
He's not so great with technology, and gets very frustrated (and unproductive!) when anything on the computer doesn't work exactly like he expects it to. (When Lion came out and the scrolling went "the wrong direction" he was afraid to use the computer at all for a week, because "everything changed, I don't even know how to use it anymore" that's between us though, personal issure ). So I'd like to keep the user experience the same for him. I'd like to duplicate his settings, preferences, etc. into a new user for him, and take over his current account to isolate this project.
So, in summary:
I want to create a new account with the same user experience as a current account without having to find and reset all of his settings.
OR
I want an exact copy of the iPhoto and iWeb from this user account to another one, on the same machine.
I am currently running OSX 10.7.2, iPhoto '11 9.2.1 and iWeb 3.0.4

That's easy, if you have Time Machine or "bootable clone" backups. (If you don't, you should anyway. Post back if you need info on them.)
Use Migration Assistant to transfer just that user account from the backups; it will put up a screen saying it can't transfer it under the same name as the existing account, and allowing you to rename it.
Other than having a different name, the transferred account will be identical to the existing one. Then you can modifiy them separately as necessary.
EDIT: see Using Migration Assistant on Lion for detailed instructions. Be sure to un-check the boxes for eveything except that one user account.

Setting Up Google Chrome Features for Cloud Printing from an Android Device

These steps are organized for optimal setup procedure and to decrease the time it would take to set this option up from start to finish. This is a lengthy process and is more for possibly troubleshooting issues that may arise during the setup of Google Chrome's Cloud Print feature. However, if you have an Android phone or tablet and are interested in being able to print virtually anything at anytime from anywhere from your phone to any brand of printer regardless of setup, there is a way. And this is how:
Open/Install Google Chrome onto a computer
Sign in with personal email to access the same Google Chrome account you intent to print from
Download Google Drive as an external storage you can access from anywhere
Open Google Chrome Settings (three lines stacked on top of each other)
Scroll down to the bottom of settings and click "Advanced Settings"
"Sign in/add printers/manage printers" are three of the print options you may see here

Can create a new document of any file type, upload, draw, etc
Leave computer on if intending to print from off the network or another location
The next steps are in regards to printing from a mobile device:
Install/open Cloud Print App
Add personal email account associated with Google Chrome
Select printer management if on the same network as the printer
Select Web tab and Google Drive if not on the same home network
Find earlier test page in Google Drive Documents
To locate other documents one could find many applications within this app or
In another app like Documents To Go, you can select to send previously saved documents (like one might send an email on the Android) to the Cloud Print app to open, view, and print
Print Test Document – this function means the printer has officially been added now
In Google Drive, but within the Cloud Print app, you can select the printer that was added to this network or from "Printer Management Options."
There are many ways to determine if your printer is still connected (offline, ready, etc.) but after confirmation that the printer is available, print jobs rest in the print queue until the printer receives the command to print. Then the documents are stored and available for reprinting.
Converts most print jobs to .pdf but prints most file formats from other applications as well
In Printer Management advanced settings
You can add a contact from the phone to use this printer
Set as default
See an extensive page of setup and printing options
*After a test print while the computer was off the document did not print and the printer appeared offline until approx. 4 min after computer was rebooted, then the document printed automatically.
Also if a document does not print, the troubleshooting guide on the phone suggested logging out of Google Chrome Cloud Print but I was unable to find that option it was suggesting (unable to log out)
To completely finish adding any additional Google Chrome accounts that wish to share this printer using the suggestion in step 10, you must log into the email that was added and select ADD PRINTER from within the email that was sent for the confirmation and follow the link and instructions on how to do this from your email.

You can also change share options, privacy settings, etc. but if you choose to go with the two-step verification process, you may not be able to add your Google Chrome email account to the app without a 16 digit code generated within Google Chrome Privacy Settings for your app (not recommended)
Now you have the option to also email any document to either the Cloud Print App or HP ePrint from the phone/tablet without actually accessing the app first. Locate the document, press the menu button for more options, select "Send to" and a list of available apps will appear. Choosing Cloud Print or HP ePrint sends the document or photo directly to the "print" function within the apps, instead of opening the app first and then searching for what it is you want to print.

This document is to assist others in understanding and troubleshooting Cloud Print. This took me many hours to get setup, troubleshoot, and prepare a document that is simple and easy to understand. These are literally step-by-step instructions on how you could be able to print from any Android device to any printer connected to a computer that has Google Chrome. What are the settings for exporting the best possible quality movies?

I'm trying to export movies using imove 11, there are a ton of export setting, im wondering which are the best for exporting top quality movies? assuming file size doesnt matter.

ok so heres what the movie inspector says:
Format: Photo- JPEG, 1024 x 576, Million Linear PCM, 24 bit little-endian signed integer, 2channels, 44100 Hz
FPS: 17.80
Data Rate:9.63 mbit/s
Current Size:1024 x 576 pixels (actual)
So do i want to somehow duplicate these settings?
The other thing I was thinking about was opening the file in Quicktime and using the "trim" feature to edit it down that way, although its not as neat. Would this preserve the quality? And would it get rid of the excess footage (which is what I want)? Or would it like keep that footage attached to the file somehow?

How do I get Reader to open hyperlinks with Google Chrome

I'm using Adobe Reader X Version 10.1.3 on Windows 7 to open a PDF I've downloaded to my hard drive. The document opens fine and it has hyperlinks to sites on the internet. When I click one of these links, it opens Microsoft Internet Explorer to navigate to the page rather than my default browser, Google Chrome. My system Internet Settings window confirms that IE is not the default browser and the Chrome settings window says that it is the default.
Does Reader have its own concept of the default browser? Is there a way to change this or is it going to be stubborn?

Thunderbird uses the browser you have set as default. Have you set Chrome as your default browser?

"Send E-Mail" Fails in Chrome

Using Captivate 5, I have created a number of quizzes that display the "Send E-Mail" button on the reporting slide. If I publish the quiz as an exe file and run it, "Send E-Mail" works correctly. (Outlook opens with an email containing the quiz results ready for dispatch). Likewise if I publish to html and open the html file in Internet Explorer or Firefox, but if I open the html file in Chrome, the "Send E-Mail" does nothing.
I have disabled all Chrome extensions, enabled pop-ups, and disabled any Google Labs "About: Flags" I had been using, but "Send E-Mail" still will not work.
Given that "Send E-Mail" is functioning correctly in IE and Firefox, this is not a Captivate fault, but I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where else I might look in my Chrome settings to get this working.

Could you please turn off the pop up blocker in Google chrome and then click on "send email" button on the results slide.
Steps to turn off the pop up blocker :
1. Go to Tools -> Options
2. Select Under the Hood
3. Select Content settings... > Pop-ups.
4. Select "Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)".
5. Close browser and relaunch it.

Your export presets and other presets are stored in your user library, in the folder
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
Look for the files and folders:

Book Themes
Plug-Ins
Command Sets
PrintPresets.plist
Export Presets.plist
Raw Decode Presets.plist
FileFolderPresets.plist

Copy these files to the corresponding folder on your new mac, then restart the system.
The preferences you set from the Preferences panel are stored in the "Preferences" folder in the user library, but it would be easier to use the Preferences panel to recreate them.
You user library may still be hidden, as is the default in Mavericks: To open your hidden user library:
Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house) in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options".
Enable "Show Library Folder".

When highlighting text and searching with Google, even though my default browser is Chrome, it searches with Safari. How do I change that?

Using iMac and Maverick OS. I have Chrome as my default browser. I find that going to System Preferences/General under default browser, I note that Chrome is chosen as default, yet the browser "above the line" is Safari and Chrome, while checked off is "below the line". In other words, the top listed browser is Safari which is unchecked with a line underneath, even though all the other browsers are listed below the line and only Chrome has a check mark.
When I am on a website and I select words to search in Google, it always searches with Safari instead of Chrome. How do I change that?

Thanks for your response. I think it was my error in that I did not define the problem properly. Indeed Chrome is my default browser. And Maverick does not have a "next line" to default to Google. I can do that in the Chrome settings.
My problem is that when I am in another application.....and it is apparently an application native to Maverick....for example Contacts or Calendar, Reminders, Notes, etc., if I highlight a word or phrase, and right click and choose "search with Google", it defaults to Safari. How do I change that?

I use the browser Chrome OS Vista. I try to open a program that requires access to the microphone but popup does not appear, I can not give permission to the program and can not start it .. can you help me?

Chrome uses its own Flash Player. It's called PepperFlash, and it doesn't play well with NPAPI apps and pages, because it's a PPAPI plug-in.
Go into your Chrome Settings. (chrome://settings in the address bar)
Click "Show advanced settings" and go to Privacy.
Click Content Settings...
Check your Media settings and Unsandboxed plug-in access. Your camera should be allowed, and plug-ins should be too.
If they are and it still gives you trouble, download the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers).
Install it.
Launch Chrome again.
Type chrome://plugins in the address bar.
Click the "+" for Details at the top right, and scroll to Adobe Flash Player.
You'll see two (2) plug-ins listed; PepperFlash and the one you just installed.
Disable PepperFlash.
Close Chrome and relaunch it. This will force it to "fall back" on the standard plug-in which should work.

Lpdagent killing chrome?

I have a factory install of windows 8 on the W830, and installed chome, and not much more.
The problem is chrome forgets everything every time I start it.
Eg. if I do any of these:
1) install an extention
2) bookmark a page.
3) change a chrome settings, such as download dir.
The next time I launch chrome, it has forgottoen all of these.
The google forums told me to rename the follwoing file:
c:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
However, even with chrome closed, and no chrome processes runing (checked via task manager), it wont let me rename the dir as it says its in use.
I used processExplorer from microsft to trackdown the culprit, and it turns out its lpdagent.exe. A bit of googling reveals this is a lenovo program.
Any idea how I kill this program, and stop it ever running again? Anyone else have this? Anyone know why its doing it?

Are you able to figure out which program lpdagent.exe is associated with? If your able to, uninstall the program its connected with, as long as its nothing important.
I have not got this problem by the way.
