Duplicate Client IP Address Matching Teamed Adapter on Server

I am experiencing a problem with a client's WLAN and client IP address conflicts.
Basically every wireless client reports a problem that it is having an IP Address conflict with another device on the network (wired).
The device in mention is a Dell Server with Teamed network cards. They have three of them and clients are reporting conflicts with all three.
On investigating further there is no address conflict as the "Teamed Adapter" has a completly different network address (static) and the wireless clients are using the internal WLC DHCP server in a different range. (although it is all one flat network).
The clients report that there is an address conflict, the MAc that it gives is the Teamed Server but the IP address is only its own and not on the Teamed Adapter.
Has anyone seen this before or had a problem with "Teamed Adapters" on servers.
Our environment is:
WLC 4402-50 running 5.2.178
Flat Network.
Thanks

Hi Roman,
thanks for your reply.
Basically what i have found is that it Servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 or Windows 2000, that have teamed NICs using Broadcom Advanced Server Programs (BASP) in an active/active team, respond to other server's gratuitous ARP packet with an incorrect IP address. The Microsoft Windows server will respond to the other server sending the gratuitous ARP, with the Microsoft Windows server team MAC address, but with the other server's IP address in the sender field of the packet. This causes the other system to respond as if there is a duplicate IP on the network.
Fix is to upgrade to BASP driver version 6.2.32, or newer. This version of the BASP driver was first included with the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Software.
An upgrade of the drivers apprently will fix this issue althouh i have tried it on 3 servers with this ocnfiguration and it fixed it for two of them.
The work around is to disable the active/active NIC team and use an active/standby team instead.
Someone else on this forum must of come across this before i am sure?
Anyway if it does resolve the issue i will post it back here so that anyone else in the future with this problem has a resolution!!
thanks

  • CSS 11500:Client ip-address visible to the real server

Is it possible to keep the original ip-address of the client when the the css is redirecting the traffic to the real server. customer needs the client ip-address on the real server for reporting.
    regards
    Dietrich Schleyer

    Dietrich,
by default the CSS will keep the original client ip address.
To have the CSS changing the client ip, your customer must have configured a group with 'add destination service'.
Probably because your client is using a one-armed setup which is the easiest to implement but the worst to use.
So, your customer should go to a 2-sides CSS design and have the traffic flow through the CSS without the need to do client nat.
Once the design is correct, you can remove the group and the CSS will keep the client ip address.
    Regards,
    Gilles.
    Thanks for rating.

  • Duplicate client IP address

I am using 2 anchor controllers 5508 as DHCP server. Anchor controller A is primary and anchor controller B is secondary. From time to time, client will complain "duplicate IP address error" when they try to connect guest wireless.
First question: both anchor controller should have a recorder of IP address which is assigned to each PC, right?
Second question: is there any way this type of issue can be avoided?
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

Eric you should use different IP ranges on both devices. i.e. Device A should have 10.1.2.1-10.1.2.254 range and Device B should have 10.1.3.1-10.1.3.254 range.
Or if you want to use same range then splict in half
    Device A: 10.1.2.1 - 10.1.2.100
    Device B:10.1.2.101 - 10.1.2.254
In this way clients shouldn't have IP conflict issue.

  • AnyConnect VPN Clients IP Address access rules

I setup ASA5540 for SSL-VPN (clientless) works fine.
But I try to use Client (AnyConnect) to access internal resources, it is failed.  It is stiil initiate sessions from remote client IP.
I need to initiate session from client IP assigned by ASA5540 box (same with Cisco VPN client connect to Cat65 SVC module).
    How I setup it?

I use Cisco VPN client (remote access VPN)to connect ASA.
There is a configuration setup for group authentication/w password on Cisco VPN client.I do not know to setup on ASA to match this?
Second, remote client  connect ASA, I should get the client IP address which I setup on ASA.
It should use this IP to connect ASA internal net,but I failed.( Both Cisco VPN and AnyConnect)
How I setup this ( SSL VPN on this ASA works).

  • Retrieve client ip address from LC process

Hi, does anyone know is there any way to retrieve the client ip address when a flex client calls the amf endpoint of a livecycle process?
This is on ADEP and unfortunately we can't do a flex call javascript on the client side to retrieve the ip address.

    Hi,
It is very easy at flex side to get the client ip, ask flex team to pass IP as input parameter when they are calling livecycle process.
    Thanks

  • Duplicate client entries ion Mac OS X 10.5.7 DHCP

I have DHCP server running on Mac OS X 10.5.7 which has duplicate entries for the same client within DHCP. The duplicate client entry has the same ethernet address, same IP but the lease time is different.
I have stopped the service, cleared the DHCP lease and restarted the server and service which seems to clear this for a while but it eventually returns.
Some clients fails to obtain an address from DHCP until you turn off and on the IP setting within the built-in ethernet. When they do two entries appear in DHCP.
I have checked other 10.5 servers that I have installed and the do not experience the same issue this one has.
The lease time for the IP is 2 weeks. Server is connected to Gig network port.
    Any help is appreciated..

Found out that the onsite computer support person had enable the second NIC and it had the same IP as the server. Disbaling the second NIC corrected the issue.

  • Blocking Client MAC Addresses at Sup720/WLSM?

I want to block client MAC addresses at the central 6500, where the WLSM is located. Is there any solution like "dot11 association mac-list" at the accesspoints? I tried an "access-expression" on the tunnelinterface, but it did not work. Any suggestions?

Here is an example of config
    switch(config)# mac access-list extended ARP_Packet
    Switch(config-ext-nacl)# permit host 0000.861f.3745 host 0006.5bd8.8c2f 0x806 0x0
    Switch(config-ext-nacl)# end
Issue the vlan access-map map_ name command and the action drop command, which is the action to perform.
The vlan access-map map_ name command uses the MAC access list that you created to block ARP traffic from the hosts.
    Switch(config)# vlan access-map block_arp 10
    Switch (config-access-map)# action drop
Switch (config-access-map)# match mac address ARP-Packet
Add an additional line to the same VLAN access map to forward the rest of the traffic.
    Switch(config)# vlan access-map block_arp 20
    Switch (config-access-map)# action forward
Choose a VLAN access map and apply it to a VLAN interface.
Issue the VLAN filter vlan_access_map_name vlan-list vlan_number command.
    Switch(config)# vlan filter block_arp vlan-list 2

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

I think the error is indicated in TUXLOG file "ERROR: Jolt client (ip address 192.168.196.102) does not have proper application password". The application password "myname" in Browser http://192.168.196.102:8000/ps/signon.html page is not working. I use the same password "myname" to login Data Mover Bootstrap mode, Application Designer, and Application Server psadmin configuration successfully. I have tried a few other passwords in Browser http://192.168.196.102:8000/ps/signon.html page but not working.
    My question is:
How to solve Sign In issue on http://192.168.196.102:8000/ps/signon.html that is "ERROR: Jolt client (ip address 192.168.196.102) does not have proper application password" ?
    Thanks.

    Dear Nicolas,
Hello. I have used the same password for "DomainConnectPswd" in the file Configuration.properties with that for Application Server setting. Eventually, UserID PSADMIN sign in http://192.168.196.102:8000/ps/signon.html successfully. PeopleTools 8.53 runs correctly in Browser.
It seems that whether upgrade Oracle Linux 5.0 to the latest 5.10 does not have effect !
I am very grateful to your great help for this installation of PT8.53 with Linux and Oracle Database !

  • How to delete duplicate entries in address book

Is there an easy way to delete duplicate entries in Address Book?

I have an iPhone where I create new contact details and a MB Air running OX X 10.7.3
In Address Book I see duplicate entries across the whole book. The other day I was traveling without my MB and needed to urgently reach someone who's number I knew was in my iPhone contact list for sure but searched and search and couldn't find it.
Turns out that when I had been going through the Adress Book on the MB Air trying to eliminate some of the duplicates I had chosed --without even knowing it or realzing it-- the card that I guess sync with my iPhone. It was gone. Sure enough, when I got back and looked it up on the MB Air it was still there not syncing to my iPhone.
I have used Address Book / Card / Look for Duplicates ...
I have also followed the Help suggesting and pressed Control / select to highlight two duplicate cards and even though the First / Last / Company / phone numbers / etc. are all the same I get the message: "The cards could not be merged because they came from different accounts."
I have checked with guys from the office who have the exact same problem with no idea how to solve the problem.
Is it that in order to use Address Book on both an iPhone and an OS X machine you've just got to be smarter, more sophisticated, more IT oriented?
Seems like a pretty easy thing not to be struggling with.
I should mention that I was a Mobile Me subscriber and now use iCloud which I'm sure has something to do with all of this.
But it seems pretty basic to me. If I have an Address Book it should synchronize between OX X and IOS.

  • View Duplicate Entries in Address Book

Does anyone know how you can view your duplicate entries in Address Book before you merge them?
    Thank you!

    books06,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It depends upon which version of Address Book you are using, and your definition of "view."
    1. Address Book 3.1.1 Help
    2. Address Book 4.0.3 Help: Combining duplicate cards and information
To find and merge duplicate cards:
    1. Choose Card > "Look for Duplicate Entries."
    2. Address Book tells you if it finds duplicate cards, cards containing duplicated information, or both.
    3. Click Merge to merge duplicate cards and remove redundant information on cards.
When Address Book merges duplicate cards, it creates a single card for the contact containing all of the unique information from each merged card. Address Book uses the picture from the merged card appearing first in the list.
To merge selected cards only, Command-click to select the cards you want to combine and choose Card > Merge Selected Cards. Address Book creates a single card using the name and picture of the selected card appearing first in the list.;~)

  • Retrieve Client IP Address in a Oracle WebServices Manager Custom Policy

    Hi everybody,
For some reasons i had to implement a custom policy in the OWSM, to restrict the access to webservices by Client IP Addresses. I´ve been following the examples for custom policies mentioned in the books: "Oracle Web Services Manager, Oracle Web Services Manager" by Sitaraman Lakshminarayanan, and the "Oracle® Web Services Manager Extensibility Guide 10g (10.1.3.3.0)" by Oracle. I followed the examples mentioned in those books to implement my Custom policy, the policy is successfully deployed to OWSM and it works, only by the issue that when i want to retrieve the Client Ip address it returns null, and following the example by the Oracle Guide, the HttpServletRequest its also returns null, im desperated because in every site that i finally find some info about it, quotes any of these 2 examples in those books, and mine doesnt work! this is the code of the custom policy, i´ve combined the 2 aproaches:

    Hi again
copied your code for testing. And it works fine.
So both the code and policy-step definition is fine, log output below.
    What is your log output?
Using soapui to send the request will give the ip of my localhost, using the test client will give the ip of the server, because that is the actual client.
I guess the server ip is 192.168.0.1 in your case, as you are testing from test console.
    <b>anyway, results from SOAPUI:</b>

  • CUSTOMER_REL - Business partner not created; duplicate check on address

    Hello Colleagues
I have a problem during CUSTOMER_REL replication from ERP to CRM.
In r3am1 object looks fine but in some BDoc following error appears:
Assignment person - address exists already
    Message no. AM038
and the Business Partner for Contact Person is not created.
    We are on:

    1410788
    1438046
But it is seems problem lies on SAP_ABA as I have found note
1092089 - Business partner not created; duplicate check on address
which is valid for different BP role and
    SAP_ABA 700
    SAP_ABA 710 but not for our 701
Have you ever seen similar issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Michal

    Hi Naresh,
Thanks for reply. Correction instructions from this note refer to METHOD MODIFY_CONP_ADDRES which doesn't exist in crm7.0.
I can see in CRM that contact person is replicated and is present in BUT000 but table BUT052 is empty for this contact.
What is more we have implemented in our CRM note 564538  To change Contact Persons grouping replicated from ECC to CRM.
But also have: Note 757955 - Incompatible change concerning CRMC_BUT_CALL_FU.
    We checked as well
Note 609766 - Correction of BP GUIDS in CRMM_BUT_CUSTNO, BUT000, CRMKUNNR
Note 836353 and run reports to find inconsistencies in tables BUT052, BUT051, ADCP and ADRVP. However no inconsistencies were found.
Thanks in advance if you have any other idea.
    Cheers,
    Michal

When you installed iTunes on your work computer, then connected your iPad to that computer, it wiped what was on the iPad, then put the iTunes library (nothing) from the work computer onto the iPad. You can try copying the iTunes folder from your home computer over to your work computer, but since the apps were bought with a different account, they may not load or update properly.
