Duplicate Clients displayed in MultiPoint manger

I have several thin clients connected on a multiPoint server each client is configured with a user account and connected.
open multiPoint manager and it show that the 6 of the clients are connected twice to the server but only 1 instance has a user account connected to it.
If use the identify station on either duplicate or original it points to the same device.
to clear the problem i have unassigned the device from the server and reasigned it, this works but the next day i logged into the server and experienced the same problem as duplicate device showing again.
how do i stop this from happen again?

I have seen this behavior periodically, usually when things are getting connected, but the second (unused) connection goes away eventually by itself.  What happens if you leave it for 15 minutes?
Do both connections say "Local" or does one say "Remote" or "Suspended"?  Sometimes I've seen remote or suspended connections as well as an active connection.  I delete the remote or suspended one and the active one
is fine.  My understanding is that a suspended connection is one where you turned off the zero client without logging off.  When the zero client is turned back on you connect to that suspended session where you left off.
I don't know what a remote session is...

How do I get it to mirror or duplicate the display without use of the on-board? Is there a Fn key combo i'm missing or is the issue more serious then i realize? any and all help and hints would be greatly apprichiated, thanks in advance.

The PowerBooks have an F-key that toggles mirrored and extended mode. My PB is loaned out right now but I think it was f7. The keycap has an icon on two overlapping rectangles, as I recall.
EDIT: Yes! Found a pdf of the PB manual it shows F7 is the toggle:

  • VAMT 3.0 Duplicate Client Machine ID Report showing excessive number of computers

We are running a KMS on a 2008 R2 VM with plenty of CPU, RAM and storage.  I recently configured and installed the Volume Activation Management Tool 3.0.  Everything seems to be working well except that reviewing the Volume License
Reports, specifically the Duplicate Client Machine ID Report, I noticed an excessive number (about 4 times the number of actual managed computers) are listed in this report node. Even assuming that computer images were not being sysprep'd this
seems really odd.  The License Overview shows 1,813 licensed and 1,678 unknown (possibly off or disconnected devices) and our duplicate CMID report shows about 8,300 plus.  What are the possible causes why this number is so high and how do I troubleshoot
    and remediate inaccuracies?

Duplicate CMID can come if you didnt used /generalize option when sysprep'ing. (http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2009/10/16/kms-host-client-count-not-increasing-due-to-duplicate-cmid-s.aspx)
Please check your KMS's log, to be sure if true or not. If duplicate, it will be logged by your KMS's host.
In virtual, like XenDesktop or View with a golden image it can easilly happen, as the CMID is kept by the server for the virtual's machine (aka the PVS for XenDesktop)

Hi Yagmoth555, thanks for the reply.  I know this is not the case for our environment as it's telling me that physical systems that were installed with the ISO have duplicate ID's.  Also, the previous version of VAMT that we were running didn't show
1,560 systems as having the same ID.  I have already deleted every "product" from the database and rescanned our environment, but I get the same result.

  • Duplicate client entries ion Mac OS X 10.5.7 DHCP

I have DHCP server running on Mac OS X 10.5.7 which has duplicate entries for the same client within DHCP. The duplicate client entry has the same ethernet address, same IP but the lease time is different.
I have stopped the service, cleared the DHCP lease and restarted the server and service which seems to clear this for a while but it eventually returns.
Some clients fails to obtain an address from DHCP until you turn off and on the IP setting within the built-in ethernet. When they do two entries appear in DHCP.
I have checked other 10.5 servers that I have installed and the do not experience the same issue this one has.
The lease time for the IP is 2 weeks. Server is connected to Gig network port.
    Any help is appreciated..

Found out that the onsite computer support person had enable the second NIC and it had the same IP as the server. Disbaling the second NIC corrected the issue.

  • Duplicate rows displayed in list

I am using ADF, Struts and JSP.
On occasion, some of the pages that simply display a list of attibutes in a VO display duplicate rows - these views reference just one EO and in the majority of cases all of the default settings are used.
There seems to be no consistency as to what causes this, at first it would appear after a new row had been inserted but then is would just appear when listing the detilas.
If you refresh the list (event invokes executeQuery() to refresh the data from the DB) then the duplicate row goes away.
This happens on my development machine (using JDev 10.1.2) and on the Application Server deployment.
    Has anyone esle seen this?
Does anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do to solve this problem?
    Thanks
    Alan

Marcos - thanks for the reply - this is the type of answer I was looking for since I'm not able to find anywhere in my code that I'm inserting a new row.
However, I've tried this approach and am still experiencing the issue. I wanted to check that I had the right items checked / not checked. I don't have an item that says Disconnect Application Module 'unmanaged Release' - mine just says 'Release'. Here are my options (Jdev 10.1.3):
(default unchecked) Failover Transaction State Upon Managed Release
(default unchecked) Disconnect Application Module Upon Release
(default checked) Support Dynamic JDBC Credentials
(default checked) Reset Non-Transcational State Upon Unmanaged Release
(default checked) Enable Application Module Pooing
I've tried multiple combinations of checking / un-checking options (including having everything checked except the 2nd item above) and still get the same issue. I'm going to read up in the developer guide to see if I can understand these better.
By the way, can you let me know which passivate state options you have set for your View Object that was showing the duplicate row but is now working? For example, right-click on VO, select edit - what items are checked on the Tuning tab?
#1 Fill Last Page of Rows when Paging through Rowset
    #2 Passivate State
    #2a Including all Transient Values
    #3 Retain View Link Accessor

  • Duplicate Client IP Address Matching Teamed Adapter on Server

I am experiencing a problem with a client's WLAN and client IP address conflicts.
Basically every wireless client reports a problem that it is having an IP Address conflict with another device on the network (wired).
The device in mention is a Dell Server with Teamed network cards. They have three of them and clients are reporting conflicts with all three.
On investigating further there is no address conflict as the "Teamed Adapter" has a completly different network address (static) and the wireless clients are using the internal WLC DHCP server in a different range. (although it is all one flat network).
The clients report that there is an address conflict, the MAc that it gives is the Teamed Server but the IP address is only its own and not on the Teamed Adapter.
Has anyone seen this before or had a problem with "Teamed Adapters" on servers.
    Our environment is:
    WLC 4402-50 running 5.2.178
    Flat Network.
    Thanks

    Hi Roman,
    thanks for your reply.
Basically what i have found is that it Servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 or Windows 2000, that have teamed NICs using Broadcom Advanced Server Programs (BASP) in an active/active team, respond to other server's gratuitous ARP packet with an incorrect IP address. The Microsoft Windows server will respond to the other server sending the gratuitous ARP, with the Microsoft Windows server team MAC address, but with the other server's IP address in the sender field of the packet. This causes the other system to respond as if there is a duplicate IP on the network.
Fix is to upgrade to BASP driver version 6.2.32, or newer. This version of the BASP driver was first included with the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Software.
An upgrade of the drivers apprently will fix this issue althouh i have tried it on 3 servers with this ocnfiguration and it fixed it for two of them.
The work around is to disable the active/active NIC team and use an active/standby team instead.
Someone else on this forum must of come across this before i am sure?
Anyway if it does resolve the issue i will post it back here so that anyone else in the future with this problem has a resolution!!
    thanks

  • Duplicate client IP address

I am using 2 anchor controllers 5508 as DHCP server. Anchor controller A is primary and anchor controller B is secondary. From time to time, client will complain "duplicate IP address error" when they try to connect guest wireless.
First question: both anchor controller should have a recorder of IP address which is assigned to each PC, right?
Second question: is there any way this type of issue can be avoided?
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

Eric you should use different IP ranges on both devices. i.e. Device A should have 10.1.2.1-10.1.2.254 range and Device B should have 10.1.3.1-10.1.3.254 range.
Or if you want to use same range then splict in half
    Device A: 10.1.2.1 - 10.1.2.100
    Device B:10.1.2.101 - 10.1.2.254
In this way clients shouldn't have IP conflict issue.

  • How to force duplicate row display automatically

In answers, we have one table that has duplicate data. The only thing different between some rows is the ROWID. When use user requests data, Answers automatically suppresses the duplicate rows. How can I force answers to display all rows and not suppress duplicate values?
For example - db table contains
    COL-A COL-B COL-C
    ABC 3 5
    DEF 2 1
    DEF 2 1
When adding COL A, B, and C to a report - Answers will display:
    ABC 3 5
    DEF 2 1
How do I get answers to display
    ABC 3 5
    DEF 2 1
    DEF 2 1
    automatically?
    Thanks!

I did as instructed - remove the check for DISTINCT_SUPPORTED from all DATABASE connections, saved the repository and recycled BI server and Presentation services. Unfortunately, there was no impact to suppression.
My DB is Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003.
In addition, we have the following connection strings in place to allow for case-insensitive searches:
    alter session set NLS_SORT=BINARY_CI
    alter session set NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC

  • Surface pro 3 - using rdp - thin client - display resolution shrink

    Hi,
I have a surface pro 3, using a thin client to access and run an application on our server.  it is an access based application.  the display of the forms and application display in a very small font - through the thin client interface.  I
cannot figure out how to enlarge the font - msft tech chat suggested I post this question here as there seems to be no immediate resolution for now.  if I plug a USB into the SP3 and open the app it displays wonderfully - any suggestions are welcome.
    thank you,

    Anyone?! :(
I think this device is trememdous - and could replace 'everyday business users' - maybe not hardcore IT/coder/developers - hardware - but it surely has the balls to keep Suzy happy while answering emails and buying shoes (so chauvenistic - I know - ok then
    think Billy playing solitaire).
Struggling to find ANYone having woe's using a Surface Pro 3 through a VPN & thin-client.  The resolution just shrinks to the point it's almost illegible.  I downloaded the RDMC - but unsure of how or what to do with it, unfortunately.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Duplicate Songs Displayed (Second Shown Hidden or in Phantom, and is not selectable)

How do I remove duplicate song listings from my iPod 4?  I have several hundred Music Video songs installed but 6 of them have double listings.  The second listing is dimmed (phanton outlined) and is unselectable and can not be deleted.   My collection on my host computer does not show these duplcated songs, under iTunes.  Re syncing with iTunes does not fix this issue.  The other displayed Music Video song plays fine.  I have the latest software installed on the iPod from iTunes.  And the latest iTunes software installed.   Sincerely,  David

Hi, I have the same issue. I purchased a song from iTunes then synced on the iPod. There were 2 copies of the same song - one with artwork, one without. Neither would play so I tried to remove them but could not redone the one without artwork. This track will not play and causes a delay before subsequent songs. There is no option to delete it from the iPod directly by swiping as can do to other songs. Basically I can't get it off the iPod by any means! Please help!!!

  • WCS 7.0 - Monitor Clients displaying wrong info

    Hi,
I've been having some problems with the Monitor Clients menu on a WCS 7.0 server, for instance if I go there and display the detected clients on the last 24 hours I get a different set of clients than if I go and generate a report of unique clients for the last day on the report menu. Is this normal?, shouldn't both reports get the data from the same place and give the same result?. Thanks and resgards,
    Gabriel.

Sure, here a couple of screenshots of what's being displayed.
that's the output of monitor->clients->clients detected in last 24 hours. As you see there are 2 clients d0:b9 and 87:5b, now if I run a report on unique client for the last day I get:
This shows two different clients 65:86 and 08:8a. I've also seen other errors on Monitor Clients for instance if I look for associated clients and have two clients associated sometimes it shows only one or none at all. Hope that clarified my question. Thanks and regards,
    Gabriel.

  • Unable to assign Wyse E02 Zero Client in Microsoft Multipoint Server 2012

    Hi
I am implementing and lab classroom for 20 client to be connected on 2 HP Z230 workstation with Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD. It will be 10 clients on each workstation.
Everything is connected to a HP switch.
I have sucesfull installed the Muitipoint Server 2012 and it is fully updated with latest Microsoft updates.
I have also installed the Wyse E02 driver on the server so that I can view the station on Multipoint manager.
On the "Network stations" tab,  I checked the box from the specific client and click on "Assign to this server". While processing I get the following error:
    Client Name: Network Zero Client
    IP: x.x.x.x
    MAC: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
The network is busy. Please try again later.
Thanks in advance for the support helping me to solve this issue.
    Regards.
    Muhammad A. Ismail

So, my Wyse E02 eventually showed up in Multipoint Manager and I was able to assign it to the sever but it appears to constantly connect and disconnect. Most of the time now the client just shows the black screen stating "Waiting for assigned host.
Ensure the assigned PC is running Windows Multipoint Server in station mode." Then I will see it disconnect and the screen will go to sleep and then will come back a few seconds later when MP Manager shows it reconnect.
My Hyper-V server (which Multipoint Server is running on as a guest VM) is in the datacenter and my thin client is in my office for testing purposes.  I have them in the same vlan.  Is this not a supported configuration?  For a quick
test I setup the Multipoint Server trial on a standalone OptiPlex and connected the Wyse terminal to the same 5 port Linksys switch and everything worked fine.

  • Best practices for mass reimaging? Having unmanaged duplicate clients with mismatched Resource IDs. (2012 R2)

We reimage about 5000-8000 clients each summer. Last summer we were still at RTM, but have since moved on to R2. We build images (Win7 SP1) in vsphere and capture via capture media TS. Last year's image didn't get SCCM client uninstalled prior to capture
so we would have random issues with computers going to unmanaged status and some that would show up without a client cert. To avoid this issue we stripped the client out prior to capture this year.
I believe this is how we handled the reimage process last year as well, but I am not positive on that. We were also dealing with a lot of new laptops last summer, where as they obviously have existing records this summer. Since SCCM replaces the wired MAC
address with the wireless MAC (laptops) we can't just toss these into an OSD collection because it won't pickup the OSD advertisement / PXE. (Is there any workaround for this?) Since this is the case, we are blowing away each client's AD account and DDR in
SCCM, then doing mass import of hostname and wired MAC into SCCM, dumping them into the appropriate OSD collection, and they image unless they happen to pickup last year's PXE deployment that first has to be cleared, or unless they had a motherboard replaced
and our MAC database didn't get updated. We did the mass import a week ago and the manual entries are listed with hostname and MAC and entry date of 7/9/2014. This week we started imaging. Almost immediately after reimaging (at which time the AD record is
created upon rejoining domain) we see a second account show up in SCCM from AD Discovery with dates of 7/14/2014 and 7/15/2014. Neither account is managed or shows that SCCM client is installed, but it shows a site code.
The manual entry lists an agent name, agent site, wired MAC, name, NetBIOS name, Resource ID of 167xxxxx, assigned site, and CCM GUID.
The AD Discovery record shows agent name, agent site, domain, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, name, NetBIOS name, primary group ID, domain, Resource ID of 20971xxxxx, resource name and type, SID, assigned sites, container name, UAC, etc.
Why won't these records merge and show up as being properly managed? I am not yet sure if they fix themselves after one record or the other is deleted. Obviously this process isn't working well and it removes the clients from their direct membership collections
and AD groups. I'd think that all of this could be avoided if we just had the wired MAC persist in the DDR.

Last year's image didn't get SCCM client uninstalled prior to capture so we would have random issues with computers going to unmanaged status and some that would show up without a client cert. To avoid this issue we stripped the client out prior to capture.
There is no reason or need to do this. There is no correlation between the two as long as the client agent was properly prepared (which does happen with capture media although you should strongly consider using a build and capture task sequence). Clients
are perfectly capable of living within an image -- I do it all the time and it is a common practice.
Since SCCM replaces the wired MAC address with the wireless MAC (laptops) we can't just toss these into an OSD collection because it won't pickup the OSD advertisement / PXE. (Is there any workaround for this?)
This is not correct and thus also unnecessary as ConfigMgr will use the MAC Address *or* the SMSBIOS GUID of the system to determine targeting during OSD. The SMBIOS GUID is an immutable unique ID set by the OEM that is part of the resource record in ConfigMgr
    also.

To be more precise I am not familiar with the japanese language. There are many options for selecting the languge type in the keyboard  like katakana, hiragana and kanji. Also we can set the charset value in the extra option in the menu of PIE.
I tried many permutation combination but i am getting squares instead of japanese characters.I think we might not have to make changes at the registry level as its a japanese OS PDA so something to do with settings for PIE.Please suggest.
