Duplicate contact info/dates

I have tried to delete multiple entries in my macbook pro for contacts, their birthdays, anniversaries, and they keep coming back.  Does anyone know why?  Is there anything I can do to stop this, and if so what do I do?  How do I prevent it if it can be fixed, as it seems like a tedious task that takes much time. I am new to the mac and love it.  Thanks.

Can you please elaborate...
Not able to get the exact problem....

  • Getting duplicate contact info on my iphone 4s when syncing with outlook 2010

I'm having duplicate phone numbers show up on my iPhone 4s when I sync to my Outlook contacts via iTunes.  I've tried deleting the duplicate on my phone, but then when I go back to Outlook contacts I find the phone number has been deleted.  Any ideas?

    Try the workaround listed here:

  • Problem when using a different data element in Employee Tab Contact Info

    Hello,
    My version: Nakisa OrgChart 4.1
I created a data element whose fields I wanted to show in the Position details (in the Employee Profile panel, which use the default Static layout 'Employee Tabs'). I am trying to display some contact info, and I used the Employee Tab Contact Info section within Employee Tabs to do it. Somehow the fields captions do not show once I do that (see picture attached). I tried using the 'Employee Tab Data Sheet' section to display the same information, and it works fine.
Any thoughts what could cause this behavior? All the fields captions have values that were configured in the data element.
    Thanks
    M.E.

Sorry, just re-reading from the start, you are saying this is purely dependent on the type of section you select. Right?
With "Employee Tab Contact Info", you say it doesn't show; Have you tried using Field/Value Section (Multiple)?
Also, when it doesn't work, what <presentation> is referenced in your custom section within "OrgUnitPositionEmployeeDetail.xml" (in \.delta\AppResources\detailconfiguration)?

Lost all contact info.  All my Aps are there but all the data/progress is missing.  When I plug my iphone into the usb fto synch up with my itunes on the computer a message comes up and says "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file".  This is very frustrating

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two.  Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

  • How can I add duplicate contacts on my iPhone

I know that the majority of related Qs on here are about deleting duplicated contacts; and yes that can be a pain, but I want to go the other way.
After I have spent ages filling in all the contact ino for someone [workwise etc], I often need to have another person from that same organisation. OK, so the name and SOME info is different, but at least 50% is relkative.
Can I duplicate the original entry and then amend the copy to get the new contact without just entering the WHOLE thing again ?

Thank you randers4 for answer above. I highly recommend using the info. in the two apple links below:

  • Save contact info to sim card

I have made many, many changes to my contacts list. I inadvertantly hit the import sim contacts in the settings menu and added all of the "old" contact info back into the phone. I know I can restore from my computer to the phone but, is there a way to write the "new" contacts info to the sim card?
    TIA

    In a word, no.
The iPhone does not support storing contacts on the SIM card, which is limited to a name and a couple of phone numbers.
The iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contact info. Not a good idea to depend on your cell phone alone for this data anyway regardless if very limited contact info can be stored on the SIM card since a phone can be lost or stolen.
With Vista, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 along with syncing calendar events, or with the address book used by Windows Mail - Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only. If you don't have Outlook 2003 or 2007 available and you don't use Windows Contacts - it is empty - doesn't include any contacts, before the fist sync with Windows Contacts enter one contact in Windows Contacts. Make this contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. After the first sync and merge, you can clean up your contacts with Windows Contacts - delete any duplicates, etc. followed by another sync.

  • Issue with Repeat Contact Info in Edit Screen

    Hello!
I recently had to get a replacement for my Droid because the home keys stopped working.    My replacement Droid was acting buggy and the screen would black out anytime I'd check voicemails and sometimes after placing a phone call.  I called customer service today and the tech support guy had me do a factory data reset on the phone.  Before I did it, I was instructed to export my contacts to my SD card, which I did.   The screen issue seems to be resolved, but I have an issue with my contacts now.  If I go into a contact and hit "edit contact", it will display three to four Google contacts for one person!  Also, if I try to make a shortcut to direct dial a contact, it has the same contact and phone number listed 3-4 times for every phone number listed.  (For example, my parents home phone is listed three times and so is their cell phone number.)  Anyone know how to get rid of the repeat contact info?  I have tried resetting the phone again, as well as separating contacts individually to no avail.  Any help or advice is appreciated!

Here are the steps for deleting duplicate contacts.  HTH!
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).
    Touch Contacts.
    Touch the Contacts tab.
    Touch Menu.
    Touch the desired contact.
    Touch Menu.
    Touch Delete contact.
    Touch OK.

Is there a phone number to call Adobe.  I go around an endless loop pressing their contact info tabs?  Maybe someone at this sight can help. I am new to digital photo - I have been a B&W film photographer for many years. I have a problem with a Macbook Air.  It was working fine - I was using LR and a message came on the screen that said something like the memory was dangerously low.  I stopped and tried to delete LR files.  I couldn't do it.  I closed the program and tried reopening and got the message that there is not enough memory available to open LR.  I contacted Apple.  They spent a half hour on the phone with me and eventually told me they didn't know how to help. The tech said that LR had gobbled up all the memory and said I should contact Adobe and ask where and how my photo files are stored and to delete them.  I have several back-ups.  Thanks - Arthur

This sort of error message only comes up for Lightroom when your hard disk is full. Indeed this has nothing to do with internal memory as that will be intelligently be dealt with. If you have a mac Book Air that is not so surprising as the cheapest versions come with very small hard disks and if you shoot raw with any recent camera, you'll fill up your hard disk very quickly and you can probably only store a few months of pictures if you are a typical photographer. So the bottom line is that you need to create some room on your hard disk. You should move some of your originals to an external hard disk. You can also delete some of your backup copies of your catalog file that Lightroom automatically generates every few days and that quickly gobble up hard disk space. So first figure out how full your hard disk is. To see that, go to the apple menu, hit -> About this Mac -> More info->Storage. You should see your internal hard disk on top and you'll find that it is almost entirely full with photos. Now find your Lightroom catalog file using Finder. It is usually in a folder in the Pictures folder in your home directory. You should see a Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat file, a previews file and a folder called backups. Inside the backups folder, you'll find a lot of subfolders. They have names that show the dates the backups were created. If you have backups of your entire hard disk, you can delete these backups when they are older than a few months. I usually only keep the last 4 around. Just drag the folders into the trash can on the dock on the bottom of your screen and empty the trash. This will probably free up enough space that Lightroom will already run again. Now start thinking about where you will want to store older images. If you have a good USB3 or Thunderbolt hard disk that is probably the best option. There is a video here by Adobe that has some instructions on how to do this: Is Your Hard Drive Full? Here’s How to Move Images to Another Drive in Lightroom. « Julieanne Kost's Blog If that doesn't work because you don't have enough hard drive space to run Lightroom yet, here is another set of instructions to move your files using the finder to the other hard disk: How do I move only my photos to another hard drive, leaving the catalog where it is? - The Lightroom Queen. If you follow that, as soon as you confirm all your images are on the new hard disk, you can delete them from your internal one. She is not so clear about that part but if you don't delete the originals that you moved off you don't free up space. You should move the folder structure over to the new hard disk and then reconnect the folders in Lightroom. That should make it refind all your images.
That said, if you are uncomfortable with the computer in itself, your best bet is to find a local photography club. There is invariably a Lightroom savvy person in there that could help you move your files. That might be your best bet if you are uncomfortable moving these yourself. A general mac savvy person like you would find at an Apple store or so generally will not be able to help you with this except when they are photographers themselves and know Lightroom. You might get lucky with that.

  • How can I access the address file with all contact info and print it?

i'd like to be able to print out address info, phone no.s, etc but not do that one contact at a time so I'm looking for a file that might have all the contact info available in one place that I can access.

Export your address book as a Comma Separated (csv) file and then open it in Excel. Then you can arrange the data any way you desire.
Open the Address Book window and from the menu bar select Tools-Export.

  • How do I get rid of the duplicate contacts on my iPhone?

I just transferred my 3Gs apps and data to my new iphone5.  The contacts are now duplicated (a few times each) and are not identical.  I am using OS X version 10.8.2 with itunes and icloud.
Any ideas how to merge or remove the unwanted contacts?  What causes this duplication?
    Any input would be appreciated!

Duplicate contacts is usually caused by user error due to syncing between iTunes and iCloud simultaneously.  Turn off sync between either iCloud or iTunes and the duplicates should be removed.

  • HT4859 how to restore backed up contact info

When I downloaded and installed iOS 6, I lost 3/4's of my contact info. How do I retrieve this much needed info?

Log into icloud.com using a computer's browser and look at the contacts page.  If only 3/4's of the contacts are there as well, then the remaining ones were not part of icloud.  I suspect that your device had some contacts in the "icloud" section and others in the "On my iPhone" (or whatever device you are using).  Those in the latter section were probably not in a backup and thus did not return.
If you back up to icloud, just know that icloud contacts (or any of the Apple data like calendars, reminders, etc.) are not part of a backup, since they are already in icloud's databases.  If you did have the missing contacts on a computer, then if not there, look for them in a backup of the computer,  For example, if using a mac, check in Time Machine.

  • DUPLICATE CONTACTS IN ADDRESS BOOK ON iPHONE

I have duplicate contacts for every name in my address book on my iPhone. This morning, I opened my address book in my AppleBook and erased all duplicates. I synced my iPhone again, and still have duplicate addresses. Can anyone explain the problem and help me resolve it? Thanks

This means you've also selected to sync contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync preferences, which duplicates the contacts on your iPhone.
To remove the duplicates on your iPhone, deselect sync Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by selecting Apply.
On your iPhone go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your MobileMe account.
Turn Contacts off for over the air syncing. This will erase all contacts downloaded from your MobileMe online address book with a warning message provided indicating this will occur. This will not erase contacts synced direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.
Select OK and wait a minute or two for the online contacts to be deleted from your iPhone.
Follow this by turning Contacts back on for over the air syncing. This will provide a merge prompt, which you want to select. This will eliminate the duplicates.
