Duplicate contact list - Nokia 1662 - how do I cha...

I just got a new Nokia 1662 - I copied all my contacts from my sim card to the phone but now all contacts appear twice on the contact list (once from the sim, once from the phone memory). Is there any way to change this so that only the numbers stored on my phone appear in my contact list? I checked the options tab but there does not seem to be an option that would allow me to make this choice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is no reason to keep them on the SIM if you transferred them to the phone.

Help has arrived to assist you with getting those contacts on both your devices. The Verizon cloud service is definitely a great tool to use and you can also use Apple iCloud as well. When you sign into the Verizon cloud on your iPad does it give an option or message to restore?

View middle name in contact list, nokia asha 302

Hello everyone.
I have a problem. I have a big contact list and there are contacts with middle names. But I can't understand how can I see contact's middle name in my Nokia Asha 302 contact list.
I saw the same problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/How-to-display-First-Name-Middle-Name-Last... But there's no help answers.
Does anybody know, is it possible to view middle names in contact list? I don't want to edit all middle names by concatinating first and middle name.

On certain devices (especially S40 such as the Nokia Asha 302) the 'Middle Name' Field may not be possible. It may not be available under 'Add Details' too ...

My contact list has disappeared. how do I restore it from a past backup?

My contact list on my iPod touch just disappeared today... for no reason that I can figure out. No other apps seem to have been affected.
I tried sync-ing to my computer, but that didn't change anything.
I would like to find out if I can get ahold of the old contact list (from the previous sync, which was a couple months ago, I think); AND, do I have to go back to that version of everything on my iPod, or can I just grab the contact list only and put it back on my iPod?
I am okay with doing some computer-y things on my own (for example, updating the operating system a while back), but I do not have a lot of self-confidence about these sorts of things, so if you do have an idea about how to fix this, I'll need step-by-step instructions (rather than a general "go back to your old backup" sort of thing).

Duplicate Contact list in 6303

hi there,
i have update my nokia 6303 software. after the update when i recovered the data from nbu file. there were two such files, i was confused and i restored my contatcs from both the files one by one.
Now my fone is showing each contact twice. i have checked, contact setting is set to Phone memory only. is there any method which can erase the duplicate contacts?

One option would be to delete all the contacts from your phone and then restore the contacts from your backup, but this time import just one set.

I assume in settings/icloud you have contacts turned on. If so then open the contacts app on your phone, tap on groups top left, then tap on the circular arrow top left and see what that does.

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

Contact list in 6230i how do I transfer to 6300

I have loaded Nokia PC suite, connected phone via bluetooth and attempted to synchronise and view my contacts/phone list in PC suite. Unfortunately I cannot see my phonelist on the 6230i. What am I doing wrong? I have been able to tranfer the pictures on the 6230i phone to my PC and transfer some to the 6300.
Most of my contacts are on the SIM card. Is the problem that they should be on the phone memory?
I have also made a backup via pc suite and viewed the file generated with Noki which shows some of the contacts but not all of them. (some which are in the list are in the SIM card but others which are also in the sim card are missing)
Ulimately I want to transfer the all contacts to the 6300.
Any advice gratefully received

if the contacts are on sim card then the will not be backed up in pc suite.only phone data ie what ever you saved on phone like sms,pictures,contacts will only be backed up.sim and memory card data will not be backed up in pcsuite.

How do I delete an email address that is no longer in use nor it my contact list?

I keep getting email addresses automatically entered when I send email....they are no longer in use or changed,,,they do not show up on my contact list...how can I delete them??

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to Contacts that is not already entered in Contacts or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not at the present time anyway.

Nokia 5610 express contact list

So I have about 100 contact lists Nokia 5610 express does not have mobile, home, work fields to enter, so my contact lists became 300 lists long, am I correct or something that I am missing ? who knows may be a week later my lists will goes up to 500 ? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

My iPhone contact lists

I was having some problems viewing all my contacts. Part of the problem was that when I clicked on the Contacts icon, I could not find the "All Contacts" option. I updated to the latest OS. Of course, my iPhone crashed and I had to restore to factory defaults. But luckily, I was able to recover all my previous information. Now I can use the "All Contacts" list.
However, I also realized that my personal contacts list is actually split into two:
All On My iPhone
Contacts (my Outlook contact list associated with my work email)
Is there a way to somehow merge both list into a single list? If this is possible, I'm not sure which list is best to maintain and the pros/cons of each option.
I just don't want to have to manually duplicate each contact again to then store it on to the other list.
Not sure how I end up getting two contact list.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well... I checked her itunes settings and no, she does not sync with itunes contacts...
I'm still puzzled as to where do the duplicate contact list comes from
I've always thought that selecting the "contacts" button on the phone app is the same thing as the "Contacts" app (when selected from the main menu) but not on this phone.

Duplicate contacts created after sync

I support a customer with a bb:
He indicates that he sync's his BB with Desktop Manager and today after doing so he see's two duplicate contact lists: default and "desktop". They both contain identical contact information. He wants to get rid of one of them. Which one can he remove and how?

additional note. Customer is now finding that the sync is now trying to pick up everything that has ever been on the calendar as a "all day event" (as opposed to haveing a specific time entered) and add it to the current day.

Contact List and Address Book synchro with LN 6.0....

Here is my environment :
- Nokia 6021
- Dell Laptop Lattitude D600
- Windows XP Professional
- Nokia PC Suite (Nokia_PC_Suite_68_rel_22_eng_web.msi)
- Lotus Notes 6.0.3
and my problem:
- whenever I synchronize my Lotus Address Book with my Nokia, the contacts on the NOkia always appear with the first name first, then the last name. How can I get them displayed differently (Last name first, then First name) so that the display and search on th eNokia is much more efficient

if, as already suggested, you use the Groups function to sync only the 100 contact list numbers, then how to get the expanded Address Book?
I've not used it myself, but Bento might be worth looking into--Bento on the Mac pulls your Address Book data (I'm pretty sure) and syncs to Bento iPhone.
I don't recall hearing about any alternate phone books, but since pretty much any program on the Mac can hook into the Address Book, you might look at the more powerful note organizers to see if any of them pull that data?
You might have a problem getting notes added on the phone back into Address Book on the Mac, though.
I actually right now keep my main address book in MS Entourage (similar to Outlook), and only use the Mac Address Book to sync to the iPhone. I could sync Entourage to Address Book, but I don't--haven't sorted out the data yet, and I don't really need all the same numbers in both places.
If that sounds possible, you might look at Mark/Space and Missing Sync for iPhone---something like keeping all 800 contacts in Entourage, and syncing them all, but moving the confidential portion of each contact into Entourage Notes and syncing those via Missing Sync, perhaps might work. (I think you can link a contact to a note in Entourage)

Is it possible to keep Contact List and Address Book seperate on iPhone?

I just made the switch today- big time – from Motorola to iPhone, and from PC to iMac, plus a Macbook Air as well for travel. Thanks to iphone and Mac forums I have been able to resolve most newbie issues and have exported my data, files and contacts without problem.
However there is one issue I have not been able to resolve or clarify:
- My old phone contact list has now been transferred my new iPhone, consisting of about 100 phone numbers which I use regularly.
- Address Book in my new iMac contains about 800 contacts including phone numbers, clients, etc, as well as personal bank account numbers, and other confidential data in the “Notes” field, which I need to refer to only occasionally.
But I understand that if I sync my iPhone with my Mac, it will merge my Address Book contacts on Mac, with the phone contacts on my iPhone Contact list, into one list. Is this true? Is it not possible to maintain 2 separate Apps on my iPhone, i.e
1. The iPhone Contact list for frequently used telephone contacts, and
2. The Mac Address Book with more detailed notes and account numbers, which I only need to refer to occasionally?
3. If this is possible, can I configure it so that a password is required each time the Address Book on iPhone is accessed? (I realise I can configure the iphone to require a pin when turned on), but I would like a password to access the Address App because of the confidential data. Previously I had all this data contained on a Palm Zire 72 handheld and its PC Desktop counterpart, where a password was required to access.
From what I’ve read on the forums, it will be very cumbersome to have a phone contact list with 1000 names on it, so I want to keep phone contacts simple with phone numbers only. (I realise I can set up Group folders in Address Book, but this is not what I need). I'm also concerned about having confidential information on my iPhone which can be accessed without a password for that particular application. I intend to get MobileMe but that also does not address the issue of keeping Telephone Contacts seperate from Address Book on iPhone.
Any help would be much appreciated!
