Duplicate emails on iCloud

After switching to iCloud am getting all emails twice

I came across the problem with duplicate emails when using iCloud so I tried this to solve it and so far it has worked:
Open  Mail on your iMac/Laptop, go to Mail on the top Menu Bar and choose  Preferences. In Accounts press + to add a new account, choose iCloud.  This should overide your orginal iCloud account. Still in Preferences  highlight the iCloud IMAP icon and drop down the Alias menu and change  it to custom. Go to the viewing icon and drop down the menu Show Header  Details to: Custom. Go to create an email using your iCloud and sent an  email to your email address and hopefully you should only recieve one  email in your inbox and on your other devices! You may have to re-imput  your email signatures (optional)...

  • I get duplicate emails for iCloud since converting to iOS 5.0

Since upgrading to iOS 5.0 and converting from MobileMe to ICloud I get duplicate emails for same acount.  It's like a MobileMe account and a Icloud account...
Plus I don't have any "On My Iphone" calanders, reminders, contacts, etc..  Not sure but maybe related...
    Help please and thanks you!

My recommendation would be to go to iTunes on the computer, under LIBRARY find the APPS tab and at the bottom it should say 9 Available Updates. Click on this, then you can update them from iTunes. To get them on your phone, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync (if you have iCloud set up).

  • Duplicate emails in iCloud sent folder

I'm having an issue that when I send email from my icloud.com account, I'm ending up with duplicates in the "sent" folder.  There have been some other threads on this, but I'm not seeing any answers.   Does anyone else have this problem?   Apple, if you see this, please advise.
I'm running a PC and generally use Firefox.

OK, so others are having this problem.  Hopefully if there are Apple techs scanning these forums something will be done about it.   Here are a couple of other threads which I've posted on:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22382205#22382205
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5146256?start=0&tstart=0
It does not seem to happen on my iPhone, and it does not happen every single time on my PC, but it happens most times.   The person the email is being sent to does not receive two emails, they only receive one.   It seems to be just the senders folder that is affected.
I also visited the Apple Store.  The young man who helped me was very nice and competent, but he too was thrown for a loop and had never encountered this issue before.

  • Duplicate email to single contact after installing icloud

Since installing icloud, I am getting duplicate emails in my 'sent' box and 'all mail' box for gmail - but only for one contact.  I have outlook 2007 but the duplicate email also shows in my gmail account when I log in directly without going thru Outlook.  The contact is only in icloud once with a single email address.  The contact is only receiving the email once.

It's Apple. Apple has taken to embracing the good old Microsoft paradigm - your OS knows what you need more than you do. Apple won't fix this 'bug' because it's not a bug to them.. it's intentional. If the last name field is left empty, then the field is filled in if possible using info from other fields. I put fist and last name in first name field because I think in terms of first names and I want contacts sorted by first names for my own quick reference. Apple doesn't like my way of thinking, so it has been incessantly trying to correct it for 4 years. Thanks Steve Jobs Jobs.

I am getting duplicate emails in my Outlook inbox. How do I stop this?

Tell them to use "Plain Text" when sending you the email, not RTF. Or, get this:

  • I'm receiving duplicate emails, one from icloud and one from yahoo

I'm receiving duplicate emails, one from icoud and one from my yahoo, how do I fix this?

Have you turned on a forwarding or copying service at yahoo?  The only way to get duplicate emails from two different email services is if one of them forwards and copies to another, or if senders are sending to both email addresses.

  • I now recieve duplicate email on my ipad 2 since I converted from MobileMe to iCloud

i now recieve duplicate email on my ipad 2 since I converted from MobileMe to iCloud

Thanks for starting the thread clisfromSLC.
I am facing the exact same problem with my brand new ipad2. The addition of a single contact post a successful sync, caused the app to crash. Restarting the app did not get the contacts back. Neither did restarting the ipad itself.
I dont want to rely on the ipad now until I have a patch or OS update that corrects this issue. If I add several contacts and suddenly lose all of them, it's not something i really look forward to.
Can someone please help? Thanks so much.

  • Sending Duplicate emails using Mail and mBox for mac

I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertantly recently.  It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.
I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see everytime I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box.  I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!!), or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).    I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.  I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.
I've searched for a loooooong time, and can't find anyone with a similar issue - but surely I'm not the only one?  I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have.
I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

I'm surprised I can't find anyone else with a similar issue.  I've submitted a support ticket with mBox/fluent factory, but I'm still not convinced it's their issue, and possibly a Mail on Mac issue.
Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks for your help!

    @ Kokola
Great staff!!! MBox Fluent Factory is very poor app.
I was having problem with duplicated sent emails and cleaning up my inbox, sent items and deleting emails. Try to contact them via email for over 3 months and never got a reply!
I just used the suggested configuration and my Entourage (email app for MAC) is working perfetcly. I can visualise all my online folders now!
    Thank you so much!
mBox never addressed the issue and the duplicated emails reached new levels of annoyance but the good thing is that Hotmail and Outlook.com finally rolled out support for IMAP.
    Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/send-receive-from-app
No more duplication issues once you switch over, and no need for a third party (mBox)software to bridge the missing feature gap.

  • I am getting duplicate emails with roadrunner.

I am getting duplicate emails from roadrunner.  we've checked preferences and not having any success.

my .me email address which I don't plan on giving up
    That's fine.
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Switch Mail off then back on.
Same with your iPhone. Tap Settings > iCloud. Swtich Mail off then back on.
    Restart the Mac.
Restart your iPhone.  Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Hopefully that will prevent duplications.

  • TS3276 Getting duplicate emails including ones that I just trashed.

After rebuilding my mac mail I start getting duplicate emails including ones that I just trashed. How do I resolve this.?

10.5.8 & even 10.4.1 can talk to iCloud Mail, (no other syncing is available though), but iCloud is IMAP only, as far I know.
    To be safe,
    On Mail...
First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Once we have those backed up we can try deleting again, at least the POP account, trashing IMAP may either delete it on the Server too, or redo it on the computer.

  • TS4002 Duplicate emails

Why am I suddenly seeing duplicate emails in my iCloud sent folder? This jus started today and the last 3 emails that I have sent have shown up each twice in my sent folder with the same date/time stamp.

Ditto, it doesn't happen from our iphones or ipad... only when accessing our icloud accounts via pc. Recipiants only receive one email.  Last night the Apple Store confirmed that it is not a browser issue, nor an internet provider issue.  Again, the "threads" that the Apple tech researched would indicate it's not a Windows program issue because there is someone having the same problem with a MAC.  All this seems to point to an icloud specific issue.  The Apple Store told me they can't fix it and to call Apple.
What common denominator do those affected have that other unaffected subscribers do not?
Additional problems we've started having are letters running off the screen when typing - recipiants are having this same issue when trying to reply.   In addition, the text size is changing mid way between back and forth e-mail conversations.
I have a call scheduled with Apple in the AM.  At this point, I'm not hopeful.

  • Seeing duplicate emails on iphone and ipad

I'm trying to figure out how to stop duplicate emails coming into iphone an ipad via icloud.
On my mac i'm only getting one email.
Not sure what setting I need to change to correct the issue.

I am having the same issue on mine. My exchange account has lost two emails. My family member with a yahoo account has been complaining about this for a few weeks (first generation iPad). It just seems to be random emails. I have tried resetting the accounts.

  • Iphone 4s showing duplicate email account @me and cloud

I just purchased a new Macbook Air and was setting up the cloud services on my phone and on my new MB Air.  I've had the phone for a while, and had set up the email account on the phone as my mobile me account.  When I set up the cloud service on my MB Air and on my Iphone 4s, I was asked to merge the account from the mobile me to the icloud service.  I followed all the instructions and everything worked like a charm - contacts updated to my devices, photos etc.  However I just noticed a problem on my iPhone, which now when I look at my email icon, it says 66 emails, when I open it up, it showing 2 accounts, both say iCloud, however one is the actual iCloud icon and the other has the mobile me cloud icon.   When I went into my settings on my iphone, I figured I'd just go and delete the mobile me email account, however it says (iCloud - account says my mobile me email address).
I'm not sure i want to delete the account, because if I uncheck the Mail (turn it off), all of my emails go away.  When I turn it on, it shows duplicate email accounts.
I must be doing something wrong, but have been racking my brain for the last hour or so and I just can't seem to figure it out.
    Any help???

I actually worked it out - I deleted it and started it back up again - not sure why it did it in the first place, but I did find others who had the problem and explained how to fix it:

  • Mail recipients receive duplicate emails

I just started using iCloud for my email from my iMac v.10.9.4. When I send an email, my recipient recieves 2 copies of it. Can anyone help me rectify this. Thank you kindly.

I am also using Mail 4.2 with OS X 10.6.3. But in addition to POP accounts, I also have IMAP accounts. About a month after installing 10.6, Mail went completely berserk. So I tried the rebuild menu option and in my case, that also created duplicate emails. Long story short. I was within the 90 day support period for 10.6. So after several hours on the phone with an Apple support person, I was able to completely rebuild (in the real sense) my mail environment. It entailed throwing away a lot of system files. Mail worked fine for a few months, but now it's going berserk again. I can't throw any emails away. I can't move emails to any folders. And I have no Trash folder. And since I'm no longer in the 90 day support period, I can't call Apple again for help. Mail 4.2 seems to be the buggiest application ever released by Apple.
If anyone knows of a document listing how to completely rebuild the mail environment (the way Apple had me do it), it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide the link.
