I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO STOP GETTING DUPLICATE EMAILS TO MY MAC COMPUTER AND PHONE. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS GO TO MAIL, PREFERENCES, ACCOUNTS AND REMOVE THE MOBILE ME ACCOUNT. THAT FIXED IT FOR ME! SOOOOOOO THANKFUL. THE DUPLICATE EMAILS WERE DRIVING ME NUTS!!

Great work Mary, thanks for the post!

  • Outgoing email problem solved

Several people have reported that after they switched to Yosemite, they can still receive emails on Exchange but they can't send emails. The problem may be attempting to send an email with a corrupted address. In Mountain Lion, attempting to send an email on Exchange with a corrupted address would trigger a warning saying the email cannot be sent. On Yosemite, there is no warning. The email with the corrupted address is held in the Outbox and all subsequent outgoing emails queue up behind it. It would save people a lot of time if Apple reestablished the warning. In the meantime, keep an eye on your Outbox.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • EMAIL Problem Solved!! Sending works on Roadrunner

I'm on a Roadrunner account. It has been impossible to send email when I switch to the Edge network.
    Problem solved!
Go to www.fastmail.fm and sign up for the "Member" level of service. It's a ONE TIME charge of $14.95. Not a big deal and you never have to pay it again. Now you enter in their smtp server address and authenticate with your new name and password. When the iPhone switches networks, it no longer matters!
I know this involves paying a fee to get it to work. But it's the only way I have found to be able to use your own address to send and receive on Roadrunner. The gMail work around is fine but it's not the same as sending from your address that everyone knows.

roadrunner is a problem depending on where you are
connecting from. sometimes they may pick it up s
    spam and reject sending email.
the easiest fix, and by far the cheapest (because it
is free) is to simmply put in at&t's wireless smtp
server info. under smtp server put in wcmx.com and
leave username and password blank. that's all you
have to do, and you odn't have to worry about being
in an area where roadrunner rejects email.
This works if you are on the Edge network outside a RR wifi connection. Once back to your home or office, you will not be able to send mail.
    The only options are:
Create two accounts for each mail account--one with the RR info and one with the edge info. When you want to send a message, you send via the one that is currently connected.
    or
Use an smtp server from fastmail.fm (or other) that will let you authenticate to send mail. Use that server as your outgoing mail server for POP accounts. It works, I'm using it now.

  • Another "duplicate email" problem.

I asked the following question over on the Office 2013 forum and the only response I got basically told me to "go ask this on the Outlook forum", so here goes:
"I too am experiencing rabid email duplication with Outlook 2013.  I've found a way to avoid the problem, and also a way to fairly reliably CAUSE it.  I'm posting in the hope that this will help Microsoft with information that will allow them
    to correct their buggy code.
    My configuration:
LAN/Domain network running Server 2008 R2 and a 3rd party (not Microsoft) email server. (Code-Crafters Ability Mail Server).
Physical network is a mix of hard-wired Gigabit Cat6 and wireless (Ubiquiti Pico M2 HP).
A mix of Windows workstations, desktops and laptops running a mix of XP-Pro, Vista Ultimate, Win 7 Pro, and 8.1 Pro.
A mix of Outlook versions, the XP and Vista machines are mostly running Outlook 2003 (yeah, I know, it's ancient but it generally still works fine for these users and they hate change).  The 7 and 8.1 users are all on Outlooks 2013 (installed as Office
    2013 Professional Plus 2013).
All of the users access their email on the OEM Ability server via IMAP. All users have at least "a couple" of sub-folders defined in their account and all use at least "some" Outlook rules to route some email at both receive and send
time into various folders.  Some users have a lot of rules and folders, some have only a small handful.  These users also have external IMAP access to their email on the server via their Android phones, generally using the "Type" (formerly
    Bluemail) Android email client.
Everything from the server down (including the email server and the domain controller)  is mine and under my direct control.
What happens fairly consistently for a few users is this:
If they have Outlook 2013 running on more than one workstation at the same time, eventually it will go insane duplicating a handful of emails, both in the inbox and in one or more of their folders, at the rate of once every few seconds.  They are also
connected via their android phone when this happens.  All clients (all the Outlook instances and their phones) go nuts trying to send 'new mail' notifications out at a very rapid rate.  It's not possible to delete them fast enough to keep up, no
matter how quick they are on the trigger.  The emails in question ARE in fact duplicates - everything about them including the header information matches - and they are "real" (the duplicate copies are also visible through the web interface
directly into the email server), so I'm sure the duplication is not just inside the Outlook view of the user's email folder(s).
Stopping all of the user's instances of Outlook stops the duplication.  Stopping just the android client does not.  If the user shuts down all his/her instances of Outlook and uses the webmail interface to delete all the duplicates (even the 'original'
email) and then starts exactly ONE instance of Outlook 2013, things are fine.  Starting a second instance of Outlook 2013 on another machine (for the same user) will eventually cause the duplication to start again.  Sometimes immediately, sometimes
not, but in my experience it has always started again within an hour of starting the second Outlook 2013 instance.  When it starts, the duplicated mail is the same as before - even though the user previously deleted all copies of it, they 'magically'
    start re-appearing.
I'd really like for this to get fixed.  Now, before anyone replies, if you're going to just write "you shouldn't run multiple instances of Outlook for the same account from different machines",  don't.  I don't want to hear
it and the reasons that some of my users want to do this are none of your concern.  If it's DOCUMENTED in official Microsoft documentation that this is not a supported action, then I want to see the reference myself.  Otherwise, keep it to yourself
    - thanks.
Also, don't suggest that I delete and rebuild the user's email profiles and/or email accounts on the server.  Been there, done that (multiple times), it doesn't solve the problem.
Dont' suggest that I ditch my existing email server and convert to something else (like Exchange). I happen to like my existing email server (and so do my users).  I've already worked this problem with their support structure fairly extensively and
we're both satisfied that the problem is not being caused by their server code.
Finally, don't tell me to run scanpst.  Also been there, done that (multiple times) and that too does not fix the problem, so either the problem is somewhere other than in a corrupted pst/ost file, or scanpst is too dumb to find and correct whatever
    corruption might exist.
Having said all that, any insights into what's going on?"
Another symptom, which may or may not be related that I'm seeing on one of the problem machines is that Outlook "sometimes" does not show recent email on the user's account.  The user can access his email account via direct web access into
the email server and is able to see, sometimes, several days worth of email traffic that does not appear in Outlook (again, using an IMAP connection).  Trying various combinations of "send/receive" operations, "folder unsubscribe/subscribe"
operations, even exiting and restarting Outlook all seem to complete with no errors, but also without retrieving the missing email from the server.  Sometimes "time goes by" and the user can restart Outlook and the email will appear, but
I've not yet found a way to make it happen.

    Update:
I've reading around the different posts and saw somewhere that it might help if i put my username and password in the outgoing mail section (where is says optional). I did that! I then shut off my wifi and tried to send mail using the edge network and it was sent successfully. I will try this when im away from home again. Hopefully this will work.

  • Send email via workflow , duplicate email problem

    Dear Sir,
We implement workflow to send email through workplace INBOX in CRM 5.0, However, when trigger to send email to INBOX, it 's always send duplicate emai.
I don't know how to solve this problem.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Vimol

    Hi Vimol ,
The very reasons for this to occur could be -
    1) Duplicate workflows being trigerred.
It might be a case that two workflows are getting trigerrred by the same event .
to check this use Event trace.
go to SWELS --> switch on trace --> trigger workflow as per your functionality ---> goto swels and switch off trace ---> look at SWEL
if you find two similar events , disable one and then recheck your process.
    2) OR it could be incorrect start conditions.
    3) or check workflow documentation , sometimes customizing tables also contribute towards workflow
    trigerring .
    hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    sahiba

  • Kiss Icon and duplicate emails

Using my Emac desktop and Mail 1.3.1; I sent it up at one time so I know there must be a way to EDIT this. In the body of my new composing email messages it does not appear; but all receivers of my emails with ALL my different email account names receive an email with all the text and an icon/photo of kissing red/pink lips. How do I remove this??? I went to Mail Prefs and there is no option to add or edit such an icon. I went thru help menu with these key words- nothing. Also some how I am getting double everything with my .mac emails receiving. How did this happen and how do I stop receiving two of everything sent to my .mac email account?

No No No-- It is all same ISP. I CREATED the kiss icon- it was a preference choice when I set up my Mac Mail on my emac; but now I can't find how to remove it. There is NOTHING to choose from on Mac Mail preferences and on system preferences concerning internet networking options. Somewhere there was some option that I can make my icon with ALL my outgoing emails with this kiss icon- and those receiving my emails DO SEE the kiss/lips as part of my email. It is NOT part of my signature.
I am wondering if there was some personal ID set up with the whole emac itself? What are key words to find it on the system to go back and change this option?
Also- no one is addressing the duplicate email problems... I have gone into my .mac account at Apple.com and there is nothing listed. I have DE Activated receiving my .mac mail at one ISP so now I get NONE. But through mac mail on my emac 1.3.1/ OS 10.3.9 still getting two of all .mac email account emails.

  • SOLVED: Duplicate Emails | Received Using: Unknown | Can't Reply to Emails | BIS

I had an issue with my Bold 9900 where I was receiving duplicate emails.  I use BIS and not BES Enterprise Server.
The first was Received Using: [my Emai Account] as normal.  Then a duplicate email would come in marked "Received Using: Unknown".  The first email I could reply to or forward as normal.  However, the "Unknown" one I could not.  The menu option for "send" after typing a reply did not appear.
I searched the forums and google high and low for a solution, but to no avail.  I finally broke down and called paid Blackberry Official Support and spent two weeks troubleshooting the issue.   Finally the issue was solved.
If the solutions shown below do not solve the problem for you, then this may.  It did for me.
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB13528
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02567
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB12207
I had 6 email accounts.  I was using a T-Mobile SIM Card.   Then I switched providers to Telenor Sweden and my SIM.  My email accounts continued to work normally.  Then I wanted to add 4 more email accounts.  However, when I went to create the first one, I was prompted that I no longer had ANY email accounts and had to recreate all 10 from scratch.   This is when the problem started.  The 6 email accounts I had originally set up were the ones receiving the duplicate emails.  The 4 new ones were behaving normally.
I tried all the usual fixes like deleting the accounts, deleting the service books, but to no avail.  I was not using any gmail or yahoo accounts or aliases.  I was not using Blackberry Enterprise Server.   So most of the solutions posted in the forums and knowledge base did not apply to me.
When I called Blackberry Support, the representative asked if I had 6 email accounts.  I said no, I have 10 email accounts.  He then pulled up a separate system where he saw the 10 accounts.   The original 6 in one system, and the new 10 in another system.  It seems that the original 6 were not deleted out of the BIS system when I recreated them.  So they were still left there but without a service book attached to them because the service books were all attached to the 10 new ones.   Ultimately, the representative deleted the previous 6 email accounts from the BIS system manually, and then my problem was solved.   It seems that T-Mobile was still holding these accounts hostage and did not properly release them when they were recreated with Telenor.   So when an email came, the Telenor service book gave me a normal email, but the T-Mobile account gave me an Unknown because there was no service book attached to it - it existed only on the BIS, not on my Blackberry.
I noted that this problem with T-Mobile had been reported on a couple other forums but they were able to log into their  T-Mobile account and solve the issue by deleting the email accounts from the T-Mobile system or by changing the passwords on the email accounts so that it didn't recognize them.  I no longer had any of my account information so I couldn't log into T-Mobile, and I had 10 accounts so didn't want to change all the passwords.  But Blackberry ultimately solved the problem for me.  I just wanted to share in case anyone else was as frustrated by this as I was.

If you ever have to call Blackberry to have them manually resolve this issue for you, give them ticket #27710221 to reference the solution.

Hmmm, wouldn't think the Modem would make difference on that though!?
    Couple more things to try...
In your home folder, try trashing this folder...
    Quit mail 1st.
    /Library/Caches/Mail
    reboot.

  • Duplicate email notifications in using extended notification

    Hi,
I have configured extended nottification to send workitem notifications to outlook email inbox by using SWNADMIN & SWNCONFIG.  I have executed the SWN_SELSEN program to send notifications out.  However, I am getting two duplicate email messages for every same workitem.  Has anyone run into this same issue?  If you have, could you share how did you solve this problem.
    Thank you for your help.
    Jennifer Tran

If you're on ECC 5.0 or higher - check this blog out
    <a href="/people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox:///people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox
If you're on something lower than ECC 5.0 -
Search SDN for notes on RSWUWFML2 - that's a SAP program that you could use to send workitem to outlook email inbox.
    Hopes this help.

I have looked at the other posts about duplicate emails but none seem to answer my problem
Recently I have started getting duplicate emails in my Outlook inbox, even if I have read them in Outlook. I have also noticed I am not receiving all emails, including the one from BTcommunity asking for verification of email to acces this forum. I only use BY Yahoo on line to check and delete spam and do not read email online at BTYahoo.
I have not, as far as I am aware, changed any of the settings in Outlook or on BTYahoo.
The Bt help screen swere less than helpful as my BTyahoo pages do not seem to have the options they suggest.
Another concern is the repeated downloading to outlook of the same emails will increase my braodband usage.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Although receiving emails in Outlook will increase the usage, emails are generally very small - unless they all contain large attachments.
Duplicate emails received in your case as described is generally down to an email fetch process from Outlook (or any mail client program) failing to complete the download, and hence an index into the received emails is not updated. When checking for emails again, it gets the same emails it had before until it properly finishes the fetch.
There are a few reasons this can occur including communications failure, but also stuck emails can cause it to happen, possibly Outlook checking for emails at the exact same moment you are say deleting  spam via webmail at BTYahoo.
I assume you've checked the online spam folder in case various emails are ending up there, as opposed to just deleting the spam from the online Inbox.

  • Duplicate emails on iCloud

After switching to iCloud am getting all emails twice

I came across the problem with duplicate emails when using iCloud so I tried this to solve it and so far it has worked:
Open  Mail on your iMac/Laptop, go to Mail on the top Menu Bar and choose  Preferences. In Accounts press + to add a new account, choose iCloud.  This should overide your orginal iCloud account. Still in Preferences  highlight the iCloud IMAP icon and drop down the Alias menu and change  it to custom. Go to the viewing icon and drop down the menu Show Header  Details to: Custom. Go to create an email using your iCloud and sent an  email to your email address and hopefully you should only recieve one  email in your inbox and on your other devices! You may have to re-imput  your email signatures (optional)...

  • Duplicate Emails - Outlook 2007

    Hi
We had configured Pop account in Outlook 2007 and set email remove from server after receiving to outlook. Also using BlackBerry Torch Device email. There was no problem with duplicate emails because no email on the mail server. Working both fine
( Office Outlook and BB Torch)
Now we brought BlackBerry Z10 Device. Configured email account on it. If send email from sender first receive it on the BB device and when sync with Outlook all emails deleted from mail server. After deleting mail server it automatically delete from BB device.
In short we are in trouble in both side. If set delete email after receiving in outlook then unable to see on BB. If want to see all emails on BB need to keep leave copy in outlook and duplicate emails receive problem. it's duplicate email issue
is occur suddenly it may come after  2 months Or 6 months.
Is there any connection with size of pst file for duplicate emails? Is there connection with location of pst file ( C:\........ OR different)?
Please guide us for that we need to do.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suhas

    Hi,
Based on the description, if you receive emails on Outlook first, since the emails are removed from the server, you are not able to see the emails on your BlackBerry device. If you receive emails on your BlackBerry device first, you encounter the "Duplicate
    emails" issue.
    Is my understanding correct?
Please kindly detail what it means by "Duplicate emails", does it mean you receive two same messages on the BlackBerry device?
Try to re-setup the account on your BlackBerry device and test if you still get duplicate emails.
If your ISP provides IMAP protocol, we suggest you setup the account via IMAP, which keeps the emails synced on all of your devices.

  • Duplicate Email Messages Mail 4.3

    Greetings,
I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and using the built-in Mac Mail client 4.3. I subscribe to MobileMe and have my primary mail alias and second mail alias. I use server based rules to manage my inbox.
For the past few weeks, I've been getting duplicate email messages in my inbox.
I have googled this and most of the articles that come back are dated.
Has any one else experienced this?
It has been working fine for months.
I have tried rebuilding my mailbox and have not noticed a difference.
    Thank-you,
    Derrick

This problem just started-up for me, too. Same Mac mail client; Snow Leopard. I have no rules set. I have two imap accounts feeding the client; only one is misbehaving with the duplicate generation. Need a solution!

  • Multiple Duplicate Message Problem

Each time I check my email, I appear to be downloading all my messages off my mail server as if they have not already been dlowloaded in the past, This means that I am getting multiple and incerasing numbers of duplicate email messages in my inbox. It has just started happening - is this a virus perhaps? Has anyone else had this happen to them??
I am using mailk with btinternet (POP) - I have checked my server and only one copy exists there - it is as if the application seems to have lost the ability to tell the server that it already has specific messages...
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I read in another post (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=519926&tstart=30) that this is a problem with bt. On their broadband service status page there is the following entry:
    13 June 2006 01:54 PM
    Problem downloading multiple mail messages
We are currently investigating a problem which may mean some customer are downloading multiple copies of messages from the server using a mail client. Please bear with us as we endeavour to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. Meanwhile we apologise for any inconvenience.
So it looks like we will have to wait for bt to sort it out.
