Duplicate entries when syncing

Hello---
Sort of MAC newbie here.
Recently, when I've been syncing my TREO 650 phone to Entourage, I notice that holidays and some events and appointments are listed twice after the sync. Can anyone explain what's going on? Am I doing something wrong? Is there any settings I can check on?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This is typically an unintended consequence of electing to merge data with, rather than replace data on, a mobile device or smartphone when you first synchronize. To correct it, do this:
• make all additions, changes and deletions in iCal only
• back up your calendars using the Back up Database option in the File menu of iCal
• perform any similar required procedures in your Address Book, including a back up
• launch iSync and open the Preferences… dialog
• press the Reset Sync History button
Initiate a synchronization event and choose to replace the data on your Treo.

Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome.

How can I get rid of and prevent further duplicate contacts when syncing?

I have checked preventing automatic syncing and any other places that seemed to give me some limiting conrol. But I noted the tiny print today that says when syncing by connection with Itunes, mobile me is also in contact wirelessly. I can't see any place mobile me gives me a choice to prevent syncing contacts. I have already spent hours cleaning up the contacts of my iphone 4 and will now have to do it again. Is the only way not to connect to I tunes? How then can you ever get music and other info into this smart phone?

Duplicate Entries when generating Essbase Log Analyzer Chart

Hi,
In EAS Console when i right click -->Sample application -->Generate Log Chart and then go View Log Charts i can see duplicate entries below the chart area, when i click refresh. Has anyone come across this issue before?

Eliminate duplicate names when syncing with a car address book

have i phone 4 and car with bluetooth; car syncs address books through bluetooth; iphone contacts are in smart groups so a name may appear in more than one group; resuts in duplicates in car phone directory; how eliminate

everything works fine when syncing through itunes because i can select which smart groups to sync with iphone, which in turn syncs with my BMW address book. however, with the introduciton of i cloud, i have not seen anything that says we will still be able to use smart groups in the same fashion. without designating sync with specific cmart groups, fear is that all contacts will be updated via the cloud, which will lead to all contacts, including duplicate contacts, appearing on iphone [and not just the ones from the smart groups], which in turn will lead to duplciate names in BMW address book

Duplicate Entourage calendar entries when syncing with 1.0.4

Here we go again... I was reasonably happy with the previous BB DM - Mac, v. 1.0.3 (build 19?).... but had to update it to the newest version to install the updates to my BB Curve 8530. Now when I sync with my MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard), the calendar entries in Entourage double. I had this duplication problem a while ago and now JUST sync with Entourage, not with iCal too. How can I correct this duplication?

The duplication has stopped but here's a new problem: When I add recurring events to my Entourage calendar, they don't sync to my BB. The other direction works OK with recurring events. Anyone know why this happens, or how to work around (other than only add recurring events to my BB)??

Blackberry Calendar duplicates entries when receiving invites

When some (not all) invites are sent to me by email, my Blackberry records the invite as soon as the invite is received (not when it is accpeted), and then when I accept the invite in my Outlook (2010) software, and sync, the calendar entry duplicates in the Blackberry. The Outlook calendar only shows the entry once. As a result, my Outlook will show one entry but Blackberry will duplicate the same entry.
If I simply just sync after the invite is recieved on my blackberry (i.e. when the blackberry records the entry) it will not appear on my Outllok calendar. To have it show up on the Outlook calendar I need to accept the invite in Outlook. However, as stated above once I do that and sync, the Outlook accpetance will duplicate on the Blackberry calendar.
Just verified, if I also receive an invite and don't yet accept it in either my Blackberry or Outlook, it shows up in the Blackberry calendar, and if I sync before I accept the invite, the sync duplicates the entry in the Blackberry calendar and it doesn't show up in Outlook as being accepted.
Any ideas?

Might lead nowhere but as you have 8300s that have no Lotus notes issues and you have one 8300 that has an issue you have them under your control. Take one of the functioning 8300s and do a sise by side compare and note with the errant 8300.
One place to check and confirm settings is Options>Date/Time
Check to see if both units have the same settings. Quite frankly all else being equal that is the only area that I can think of that would account for a one hour time variance.

Duplicate Meetings when Syncing with Outlook

Outlook meeting sometimes (but not always) end up being duplicated in my desktop Outlook after I synchronize using Blackberry Desktop Manager. If I could avoid this duplication, I would like to keep wireless calendar from my work Outlook but I am wondering whether I can solve this problem by turning off wireless calendar synchonization and use only Blackberry Desktop Manager to keep my Blackberry calendar. How do I avoid these duplicate meetings on my desktop Outlook calendar?

My problem with duplicate meetings is not restricted to recurring meetings. I am wondering whether the problem is related to the fact that my Blackberry is receiving a meeting by email and putting it on the Blackberry calendar. The desktop is also receiving the same Outlook meeting request and putting it on the desktop Outlook calendar. As a result, the syncing process sees one meeting on the Blackberry and a "different" meeting on the desktop and places the Blackberry meeting on the desktop, resulting in duplicate meetings in Outlook.
A non-elegant solution would be to prevent emailing meeting requests to the Blackberry calendar but I do not know how to do this. I seem to remember when I setup my Blackberry, telling to to send meeting requests to my Blackberry but I now cannot find anything to discontinue sending the meeting requests. It would be nicer if the synchronization process recognized that the Blackberry meeting and the Outlook meeting are actually the same meeting.
Another way to say what I suspect is happening is that I am using both email calendar synchronization AND Blackberry Desktop Manager synchronization, resulting in duplication. Does that make sense?

How to prevent duplicate photos when sync

I have videos and pictures that I want to keep on my phone, however when I sync to nokia suite it will sync the same photos over and over. anyway to prevent this, or do I have to delete them from phone. Also, same thing with duplicate contacts.
What is the best way to transfer photos from Nokia suite to disc, or memory card. I have a ton of photos on Nokia suite and want to transfer them to a disc or memory card.

Create a new folder on your desktop, download the picture files from the CD's, delete the duplicates.
As I see it, you now have 2 options:
Burn new CD's or a DVD from the desktop folder as your source, and use the Editor & Organizer - or
Use Editor & Organizer, using the desktop folder directly
Suggest that you stick to one of these options for this group of photos so as not to confuse the path in Organizer.

Double Contacts & Calendar Entries when Syncing PocketMac to Storm

i know others have had this but i have not seen anyone have the issues sorted on any forums.
as the title suggests when i sync with PocketMac to my Storm, everything doubles up. actually not all entries but most. Why is this? there are no doubles in my Entourage Database>?
a couple of points to note:
i am assuming that PocketMac is syncing direct to my Entourage Database and not doing it via iCal and the Mac apps?
i have the sync set as one way from mac to storm. not ideal but for first sync and/or after a wipe of contacts and and calendar this is what i have read is best and safest to do.
as noted above, i have plugged the Storm into a PC, wiped the bits that double up [contacts & calendar] and sync'd again. Every thing still doubles up.
Why oh why oh why? syncing isnt a new technology. other manufacturers can do it???

This happened to me too and I think it has to do with your phone showing your calendars from your MobileMe and then all of them again from your computer. Go to your Calendar on your iPhone and hit the "Calendars" button top left and it should give you options to select "All Calendars" or "From My Mac" or "MobileMe". I ended up having "All Calendars" selected and it showed both, Computer & MobileMe at the same time so it looked like I doubled everything.
Let me know if this works or if I screwed up on my syncing or preferences somehow.

Duplicate entries when I print labels

When I print mailing labels my entries appear twice. When I look in my address book they only appear one time. Any thoughts?

Missing calendar entries when syncing

Using windows xp, ms outlook 2007 and iTunes 1.1.3, I am missing calendar entries on my computer after syncing. The calendar entries are shown on the iPhone, but many do not make it onto Outlook on my computer. The sync seems to push onto the iPhone one-way, without updating the computer. Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?

Update to original post:
Phone is taking roughly 45 minutes to sync, which is awful.
Calendar items are not syncing with Outlook.
Contacts are multiplying with every sync, numbering into the thousands.
My sense is Apple is overwhelmed with these issues. I did the iTunes upgrade yesterday and no improvement.

Duplicate Playlists when syncing with Media Go

Having a minor, albeit annoying, issue with Media Go. Pretty much every time I sync it with my phone, instead of just updating the playlists it created duplicates of the playlists so I end up with "R&B" and "R&B(2)" for instance. I have about 25 playlists and it really bugs me that after every sync it turns into 50 and I then end up having to manually delete the duplicates from File Explorer.
Anyone else encountered this issue or have ideas how to prevent it?

Double Calendar Entries when Syncing with MobileMe Cloud

I synced up my new iPhone the other day and all of my calendar entries are doubled up on it - two entries for each. It's been syncing with my MobileMe cloud for a few days now and continues to have this problem. Funny thing is, my Calendar app on my Mac does not sync up the double entries. It only shows one, as it should be. Can anyone help?
