Duplicate IDE drivers

My Mobo: 865GM2-S(MS-6743G) Ver0B
No you are not seeing double,  please can someone tell me how to fix this?
Do you know where i can get IDE drivers for my Mobo?

I don't see a problem.
Assaf is correct.
The 865/875 chipsets have 2 IDE channels and 2 SATA channels. If you enable all channels in the Bios, Windows identifies then as 2 primary IDE channels and 2 secondary IDE channels instead of 1st,2nd,3rd,4th like it does in the Bios.
I had hoped SP2 would rectify this but it doesn't.
At any rate, this is "normal" for Windows and your drives should still work properly.
Are you having any performance problems with the drives?

  • Move ALL duplicate ideas to the last pages of this forum

There are a ridiculous amount of duplicate ideas in this forum because most people don't take the time to check if their idea has already been posted.  This makes it extremely difficult to sort through newer/original ideas to vote on.
Can you filter any post marked as duplicate so that it goes to the last pages of the forum thus making it easier to see original ideas to vote on.

  • NEO4-IDE Drivers

    hi
i am building new pc and i would like to know from neo4 users what experience you got from nvidia ide drivers. is it necessary to install them or not. i heard that they are causing probs. in my case i will have only my dvd burner on ide ports (no hd) so i assume the win xp ide drivers could manage it.
    thanks

there is no problem with ide drivers in 6.39 forceware kit.
and you may return to windows drivers anytime you want.

  • Uninstall NVIDIA IDE drivers--how?

I've read a lot about how the NVIDIA IDE drivers are causing problems.  How do I uninstall them?  Is it just from the driver tab for the NVIDIA PATA drivers in Device Manager or do I uninstall the NVIDIA drivers from Add/Remove programs?
    Thanks!
    Bruce

    hansh,
Thanks for the info.  I found "NVIDIA drivers" located in my Add/Remove programs, but when I clicked "Change/Remove", I did not see the NVIDIA IDE drivers listed.  I'll have to double check what drivers are actually being used for the NVIDIA PATA controller.

  • Any one with problems with new ide drivers

having read hundreds of threads on 3 forums most problems seem related to older cdroms
so if it will not boot ,shut down what ever disable all bar c drive
then test and add them back one by one

My system wont recognize DVD's now after trying the 3.13's. I tried mWarheads nForce reset and Driver cleaner route first = no go. I reformatted and reloaded OS with both Microsofts IDE drivers, no go, then mWarheads 2.45 remix still no go. I'm ready to snap this mobo in half. I will try a different drive first. Its rediculous that nVidia can't release good drivers as long as these boards have been out.......
I'm about ready to try Intel.......  never, EVER thought I'd say that......

  • VIA bus master ide drivers

    hi,
I just installed winXP on an MSI 6368 motherboard, but when Windows load, it keep asking for VIA Bus Master IDE drivers. Those drivers aren't on the CD that came with the motherboard and I'm not seeing IDE drivers listed on MSI website. What should I do?

    hi,
I used the VIA 4 in 1 and i'm still having the same problem. Anything else I can try?
    Thanks

  • Help! IDE drivers not working?! K8N Neo2 Plat.

    On the MS-7025 mobo BIOS 1.4, AMD 64 3500+, 1gb corsair 2-2-2-5, 2 PATA IDE drives and 2 SATA (RAID-1 array)
Can anyone tell me what they have listed under the 'IDE/ATA devices' tab in the Device Manager ??
I have (the SATA driver), then 'primary IDE controller' and 'secondary IDE controller'
I'm afraid that my IDE drivers have not installed correctly because I don't think that is supposed to be the name of the controllers.. isn't it supposed to say something like 'nForce3 P-ATA primary controller' or something more specific to the mobo/chipset ???
Besides when I try to update the drivers, 'have disk' and point it at the dir with the latest nVidia system IDE drivers, it gives me an error when installing them such as 'access denied' or 'can't install because the device is undetected'.  Should I be doing this in Safe Mode ?
The specific driver I am trying to install is 'nForce 3 parallel ATA driver' in the nvata.inf (something like that) file (under nForce/IDE/WINXP)
Help !!  I think the ATA controllers are hosed !

Did you install raid into your existing xp installation then. ?? Rather than F6 on install.
its certainly puzzling, buit i can't think why its
Yes.... I didn't need to do the F6 thing since I wasn't doing a fresh install of Win XP.. I just set up the RAID array in bios, booted into XP and installed the SATA drivers (forced them to install)
I tried to force the parallel ATA drivers to install, but when I do I get a device not detected error.  I'll check the cabling and swap them out, since I am getting desparate, but I doubt that's the issue.. pretty sure I was already using ATA 133 cabling in my old setup.

  • IDE Drivers

I am setting one hell of a system....
    3x512 Megs (1.5 Gigs Total)
    Athlon 1800+
    Maxtor 120 Gig Hard Drive.
Here is my question, most chipsets like Intel/VIA use an actual IDE Driver.  Does the nForce 420D chipset use an IDE bus mastering driver?  The 120 Gig drive seems slower than my PIII 1 Gig.
Also, what should I set my BIOS settings to (version 2.6)
    -Kyle

    Kyle,
The nForce Drivers contain everything you need for drivers. They are unified and everything is in there.
It looks like you are using onboard video.  Pull out one of your sticks of RAM.  You will get better twinbank performance.
Next thing, set DisablePagingExecutive value to a 1.  That will give your system a boost.
Next use BIOS 2.6 which will improve your PCI Reads and Writes if you use a PCI RAID Card.
Unless you have a program that needs all the RAM you are using and the 120Gb Hard drive, take the money you save in RAM (2X256Mb) and go with a GeForce 4 Ti4200 and if you can a RAID with two smaller Hard Drives.  You will triple your performance over the rig you listed above.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • Marvell ide drivers missing??

    Hello everyone
Since a few days now i own a P35 Neo2-FIR. Considering a dual boot system with Linux and windows on it i took two harddisks, one for each system. I use a WD HD on the intel Sata port for linux and my "old" (only several month old) ide/pata Maxtor HD for windows on the marvell ide port. Additionally i use my "old" (again not even half a year old) DVDburner plextor as the main and only optical drive.
Since Linux Fedora 8 there is really no problem with installing and recognizing all chipsets and ports so I'm quite happy with it.
My windows2000 however does not have any adequate ide driver so it is doomed to use the generic MS one which has a great performance of about 1-2 MB/s
I didn't find any drivers on the MSI cds - neither on the MSI and Marvell web page
    can anyone help me further?!
    greets
    messerjocke

    Hello everyone
First thanx for all the answers. I opened a ticket @MSI and explained my problem. Lets see their answer (when it arrives.....)

Dont you think Win2k is a little old for this day and age?
XP probably has it built in, maybe you could get a friend to extract the driver for you or something?
It may be quite old, but all those Intel drivers and others still support it. also MSI does - they only excluded Win98, NT etc....
But I will try the idea with WinXP; maybe I get a XP Install-CD somewhere....

messerjocke , since you can access to the internet, why not find the latest and greatest revision of the driver from the net? the MSI CD is sort of "generic" one and may not include the latest drivers...
I did; and i must confess, yesterday i found a site with drivers (www.driverpacks.net) although that marvell driver almost messed up my system: first it killed some file security flags (Checkdisk had a LOT of work to do while booting) and now - although it seemed to be successful - my burner "lost" its burning&DVD-RAM function.... I don't know if those drivers are anyhow trustfully......

  • New Audio and IDE drivers

Having probs installing these drivers. The .exe runs upto the point where the nVidia splash screen comes up and the progress bar goes all the way to the end and then the program vanishes, with out installing the new drivers.
Yes I did stop my anti-virus running, and I even tried doing it in safe mode!
Any ideas how I can install the drivers.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Did you Uninstall other drivers first - if not do so, use a program like "Driver Cleaner" to remove the bits that are left (after uninstall).

  • K8N Neo2 IDE drivers

    Using NVIDIA nforce 250 PATA/SATA (v2.6) (5.10.2600.0446) drivers.
Burning with the Plextor DVD was dead slow.  I changed the DMA from
Multi-word DMA 2 to Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra 33 and the burning time dropped from 24 minutes to 7½ minutes at 8x.  Tried using XP's drivers but was unable to change it from Multi-word DMA 2 so I'll live with the nvidia drivers.
My problem is with the hard drives., very slow performance.  Is there a better IDE driver than the nvidia and if so how do I set it up..  In device manager both Serial ATA DMA and Enable write caching is checked.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

That is normal - I have exactly the same on my RAID. More worrying is the fact that they have different IDS - they should be the same.
It appears that your drives are different, or at least are being recognised differently. Are you sure both drives are EXACTLY the same - same cache size, same RPM etc?
Not really but will check it out.  They did work well in my old box though.
Thanks again for the persistant help.
    PS
Thinking of purchasing 2  200GB SATA Maxtor HDDs
For those who are having trouble with slow CD or DVD burning.
    Using Nvidia V2.6 PATA
Uncheck "Let BIOS select transfer mode" and change from
    "Multi-word DMA 2" to Ultra "DMA 2 - Ultra 33"
My DVD burning time dropped from 25 minutes to 7½ minutes.
Odd thing though, after reinstalling Raid 0 numerous times from scratch, for some reason it now defaults to Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra 33.  I didn't have to change it.  Go figure.
    Good luck to all.

  • NVIDIA IDE drivers won´t install

    Hi.
I have K8N Neo2-FX AMD 64 3000+ and the IDE/sata drivers don´t install from cd in any way. Anyone know what folder to look in at the cd. I know Promise and I tried Nvidia/System/CK84/IDE.
Now I have as follows in devicemanager
    NVIDIA nForce3 250 Paralell ATA Controller (v2.6)
    NVIDIA nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller (v2.6)
    NVIDIA nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller (v2.6)
guess it should be something else instead of the second serial ata.
    TIA ericolsen

    Ok... this is what I found out;
Device manager -> Update drivers (for SATA controller & RAID) -> No boot !
    Not trying that again
Used the .inf files from MSI website

  • SiS ide drivers for 648max-f

Does anyone use these drivers. Are they useful? I am wondering why Live update doesn't show these drivers. They are on the webpages though.

I think I will try them. You can always rollback drivers, if you want. I am just thinking why they aren't in Live Update. It could mean that they are not useful or compatible with my computer.  And in the CD which came with the MOBO it's not on the drivers page but on the utilities (well nowbody uses the CDs anyway). Well they can't do great harm I think. One other thing is that I have noticed that Live Update is not updated as frequently as the MSI webpages.

  • Thought on idea exchange "duplicates"

I'm not really sure where to post this so...
I think it would be beneficial if when an idea exchange idea is marked as duplicate, kudos that have been given to the duplicate idea should be transfered to non-duplicate (i.e. original idea). Is this done already, and if not could it be implemented? Of course, if a member kudod both, their kudo should not be transfered, as they already kudod the original.
    CLA, LabVIEW Versions 2010-2013

    Greg,
Just look at the bonus of getting extra kudos for a duplicated idea.
The idea was revived...  Especially being a good one.
