Duplicate ILOAN for unassigned Functional Location

Hi,
We have a peculiar problem: Two ILOANs ( Location & account assignment for technical object) are created by the system for the same equipment - one for the assigned Functional Location and the other for Unassigned Functional Location. When we have assigned a functional location to the euipment, why is the ssytem creating ILOAN for the same equipment with unassigned functional location ? How can this be rectified ? We don't want ILOAN for the unassigned location as it is affecting the reporting.

The system is creating the same equipment only because during the equipment creation from IBIP the system does not find the superior location to which the equipment is assigned(directly to PG or FL or .....) so this generates a new equipment number(SAP number).You must be searching the equipment through the legacy number so you are finding the two same legacy equipment with different SAP number.
I would suggest one thing find all the unassigned equipment and create one default FL just like unused FL and assign all the equipment to it.
Now your reporting will not be affected. DO you have any other issue ???

Create, Update and Delete Partner functions for a Functional location.

I have a requirement where I need to
a. Create / Assign Partner functions to a Functional location,
b. Update the new Partners values ( PARNR ) for particular Partner Functions ( Replace new Partner values in place of old partner values )
c. Delete the Partner values and Partner functions for a Functional location.
when the above changes are done, the changes should be reflected in IFLO ( Table-IFLOT ) and IHPA ( Table-IHPA ) transactions .
I wanted to make the above changes by using FM's or BAPI. I have searched many forums and threads, but still I was not able to get the correct solution.
Can anyone help me out in finding BAPI or FM's to do the above changes. ?
Note : I will have an excel sheet which has coloumns like Functional location, Partner function, Old Partner value ( PARNR ) and New Partner value (PARNR ). This data needs to be updated in IFLO and IHPA.

Dear Raju,
You can same FLOC by different name. Eg. K1 is a FLOC and you can activate alternative labelling for it and name it as G1.
Must: Activation of alternative labelling in customizinf for this setting
Procedure: IL02>Extras>Alternative Labels>Overview>Pen mark (change Label)...here you can give you name of FLOC and now you can this FLOC by both name in IL02

ABC Indicator for Equipment & Functional Location Same or Different

Hi All,
We can find ABC indicators in both Equipment & Functional Location (FL) master data.
Q. Please tell me....whether these fields are different for Equipment & FL or same??
Problem is that I could see the same field name ABCKZ for both Equipment & FL in tables V_EQUI & ILOA respectively.

*The ABC indicator can be entered in equipment as well as functional locations.*
An indicator that is assigned by the procedure of ABC analysis.
The following ABC indicators are possible:
A - Important
B - Less important
C - Relatively unimportant
According to these criteria, "A" materials are those materials that are of greatest importance for the production operations of a company.
Examples of use for ABC indicators are vendor master records, material master records, and master records of *technical objects.*
So ABC indicator is same for equipments and Functional LocationBUT value may be diferent

Tables for Eq., BOM: EQST, STKO, STPO.
Tables fro Fun., Loc., BOM: TPST, STKO, STPO.
You can use FMs: CS_BOM_EXPL_TPL_V1, CS_BOM_EXPL_EQU_V2 & CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 for extracting the appropriate BOM related data.
And for the Alternatives please check the customizing or check with your respective Module experts for the appropriate configuration.

Dear Gurus,
I have an existing system with Functional Locations & Superior Functional Locations, Equipments with Superior equipments. I need to update the BOM for all (most) of these. Can we do it through LSMW or any other Mass update transactions?? Please guide me with the process.

You Can use LSMW object by Direct INPUT method In which Sap ECC 6.00 has Standard Programme for uplaoding of BOM.Details are as below

Classification overview Data for the functional location in Emigall

I am trying to upload the functional location for the connection object. and during that i would like to upload the Classification data through Emigall
Can i do that in emigall and do we have a function module or a BAPI for it.to do that.

i don't think you can directly upload classification along with your functional location data in EMIGALL. But there is an object OBJCLS_D in EMIGALL that you can probably use. There is a BAPI BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE that may also be useful if you want to write your own program.

User statuses for equipment,functional location,order,notification

Kindly suggest me which user statuses should be assigned to equipment,func. location,notification & order.

Vivek,
There is no rule or std instruction which user status to be assinged to equipment,FL, Notification or order. In std you may get some user status for equipment. notification etc. It doesnt mean that you should use it. User status are define /created base on the business requirement . a user status can be assigned to multiple object type such as equipment, notification ,order etc.
You can refer the std user status profile when you create your own. In order to know the detail of it object type. You can select the status profile >> click on the detail>> click on the object types.

LET ME DESCRIBE IT.
WHEN I AM CREATING A FUNCTION LOCATION USING IL01, AS I ENTER A FUNCTIONAL LOCATION AND PRESS ENTER IN THE NEXT SCREEN.
AND
I NEED TO ENTER THE PARTNERS FROM THE DROP DROWN MENU GOTO ->PARTNERS
WHICH TAKES ME TO THE NEXT SCREEN WHERE I NEED TO FILL THE INFORMATION IN THE TWO FIELDS : FUNCT & PARTNER.
I need a partner for the functional location that i mentioned above.and i need to upload that information in through Emigall.
So my query was that can we customize that partner for this functional location and if yes, what should the constraints,
what are steps required? Do we require a custom service module?

Function Module for Changing status of a Functional Location.

I am writing a Proxy for changing the Functional Location (T code IL02).
I need to set the Deletion flag for the Functional Location.
Can any body help me with how to do this. As data will be coming from XI and I have to update the Functional location in background with function modules.
I am using 'BAPI_FUNCLOC_CHANGE' for changing other data. But I am not able to set the Deletion flag with this BAPI.
