Duplicate installation of Extension Manager?

I've recently rebuilt my computer. I downloaded the Creative Cloud desktop app and installed my favourite apps.
I've installed the following;
After Effects CC
Fireworks CS6
Photoshop CC
Audition CC
Muse CC
Premiere Pro CC
Edge Animate CC
Edge Code CC
Flash Pro  CC
Illustrator CC
Touch App Plugins
I have two extension managers installed. CC and CS6. The CC version contains all of my CC apps and the CS6 version contains Fireworks.
Why is this needed and when will Fireworks be updated to CC?
Will the CS6 Extension Manager be removed when Fireworks is upgraded to CC?
While we are on the subject, can I uninstall Adobe Application Manager now that all of my Adobe products are (supposedly) managed by Creative Cloud desktop? My second PC was running Application Manager before it updated to Creative Cloud desktop but it never uninstalled the redundant Application Manager...
Keen to hear Adobe's thoughts on this... I like to keep my computer clean and duplicate apps frustrate the hell out of me

Thanks Laubender
Well that's a bummer!
Maybe Adobe will be nice enough to integrate it with Extension Manager CC as one of their future "bug fixes" so that people who still need Fireworks CS6 don't have to manage extensions across two different programs... *wink wink nudge nudge*
It's just nice to have it all there in one place. That's what I thought the Creative Cloud was all about!

  • Installation problem--extension manager

Extension manager crashes when I try to install the unarchived LevelUp file. I have CS5.1 and extension manager 5.5, which according to the FAQ are up-to-date enough. I'm using a Mac running OS 10.8.3, if that's at all helpful. Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happenng?

Please go to http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em6_download.html to download and install the 6.0.7 full installer.

  • Can I have an Action file install when a ZXP is opened in Extension Manager for CC 2014?

I have an extension that I'm packaging as a .zxp file.  I'm using Adobe Exchange Packager and setting to the proper install location for the files for the extension.
However, my extension requires an action file (.atn) is installed in the user's Actions panel.  Of course, I can include the .atn file in my package and copy it to a folder on the user's computer.... BUT, is there any way I can include that .atn file in the .zxp package and when Extension Manager unpacks the files, it INSTALLS the included .atn file into the user's version of Photoshop?  So, this way the .atn file is already installed in the user's Actions panel after the extension installs through Extension Manager...so the user doesn't have to worry about installing the .atn file as well?
(If there were a folder to place the .atn file into, I could do that, but I do not believe that there are any folders for CC 2014 that hold .atn files in which the panel will read, if at first not installed in the normal way.  I believe this is new for CC, and that the actions are held in a .psp file.)

I am not sure about the .atn file location but it sounds like you want to create a 'hybrid' extension.
You create a .ZXP containing your CS extension and then create an MXI file which includes the .ZXP and .atn file.
You would then wrap this into another .ZXP which will be used as the installer.

  • Invalid signature when trying to install Photoshop CC extension using the Adobe Extension Manager CC and default installed Photoshop CC extensions won't load

I have a Creative Cloud subscription for Photoshop CC. All Creative Clouds products are updated to the latest versions. When I tried to install Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3 Photoshop extension using the Adobe Extension Manager CC on my PC desktop, I received an error message that the extension contained an invalid signature and wouldn't be installed. I had previously installed the extension on my laptop without any problems. At the same time, I also noticed the default installed Photoshop CC extensions (e.g., Adobe Exchange, Kuler, Mini Bridge, Behance) could not be loaded using the Windows/Extension command. I receive an error message that the command could not be completed because the extension could not be loaded. After contacting Tony Kuyper, he suggested that I try the steps mentioned in the following weblink: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6029768. The steps basically consist of uninstalling and reinstalling all the Creative Cloud apps associated with Photoshop CC. I tried the steps multiple times, but I am still having the same problems. I can find the default installed Photoshop CC extensions on my machine, so I don't know why they can't be loaded.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Mark Curtis

    Hi Mark
You say everything is up to date?  And you have tried reinstalling all the CC apps?  Is Windows also fully up to date?  Hmmm...  That could be tricky.
What version of Windows are you using?  Have a look in Task Manager > Processes and see if 'CEPServiceManager.exe *32' is listed as running?
If not, I don't know where it would be installed from, and we'd need someone like Chris Cox to join the thread to tell us, but my guess is that it would install along with the CC Desktop Application Manager.  Windows 8.1 can be problematic, and a bit fussy about the order of things, and it is definitely worth adopting best practice when installing your CC apps.  That means restarting your computer, and right clicking the Desktop Application manager and running as Administrator.
How many CC apps are you running?  If just Photoshop, Bridge, Expansion manager etc. then - and I hate to say this - perhaps have another go at reinstalling, but run the Cleaning tool after uninstalling.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Try some other Extensions before the Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3.  GuideGuide is a favourite of mine, as well as Dmonzon tools, and maybe Russell Brown's Flypaper Textures.
I have to say that I have had problems with the CC Extension Manager a while back, but simply reinstalling just the Extension Manager fixed it.  Perhaps CEPServiceManager.exe *32 installs with Extension Manager?  Heck, maybe start with just trying that before reinstalling all your CC apps.
If you are still stuck, I'd risk sending Chris Cox a PM, but not until you triple check that your video card driver is up to date from the card maker's website.
Good luck, and be sure to let us know how you get on.

  • Proble with adobe extension manager CC

    OS win7 64 bit and  photoshop CC2014.
I installed AEM CC but after boot does not recognize  php cc2014 and so I cant install any exstension. Please could someone help me?

Hi JJ - thank you for getting back to me.  I got onto an Adobe tech and we tried various things including re-installation of Extension Manager, which didn't fix the problem.  We then updated Photoshop (I was one point release back) then re-installed EM and this has fixed the problem.
I did check online and quite a number of people seem to have had this problem, so I guess Adobe has fixed whatever bug was in there.
    Thanks!

Theoretically, the installer for extension manager should
respect the location for installing files, and EM is by default
installed with other applications, so they may need to be installed
    together.
Beyond this, you should contact Adobe directly for support as
the folks visiting this forum pretty much use extension, and aren't
into the enterprise way of installing programs into alternate
    locations.

  • CS Extensions and Extension Manager

Someone please tell me I'm wrong...
    1) CS Extensions can only be installed using the Extension Manger.
    2) As is apparent from this screen shot, it is possible to disable the installation of Extension Manager:
Putting these two facts together spells trouble. I might be creating installers that will not work because a user might not have Extension Manager, and there's no way around that...
If Extension Manager was made mandatory for CS Extensions, the installation of Extension Manager should be mandatory as well...
Also, is there more than one location where Extension Manager might be installed (if it is...)?
    Harbs

    Harbs,
There is a checkbox in the Export Wizard, when it is checked, the zxp
(file format used by  Extension Manager) will be unpacked into the
same export directory where you pick for zxp export.  The extension in
the unpacked folder is signed and is ready to be copied to the
extension folder for release deployment.  So you should be able to
    incorporate that to your
    own installer (or installation process)
    thanks!

  • Extension Manager Crash

    Hi,
I have just try to installed a Dreamweaver extension from here: http://www.kabadabra.com/downloads/codeigniter_shortcuts.zip. But during the installation, the extension manager crash. Since then, the extension manager crash every time I run it. And the screen it shows during the crash is "loading extension". I tried to update it, but the Adobe Application Manager shows Update Failed: Updates could not be applied.
    The error log file is:
    Extension Manager 6.0.7 Update
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7

Thanks a lot for your reply. I guess the problem is caused by the extension that I was trying to install. So, if the extension can be removed, I guess the problem will be solved. But now, I can't even run the Extension Manager. Is there anyway that I can remove the extension myself? What is the path that the extension will be installed?
    Thanks.
