Duplicate messages and problems receiving group text

My moto x periodically sends out duplicate text. I also cant receive replies to group messages. I have deleted all old threads and cleared cache. I have uninstalled the Verzion messenger app and reinstalled. Not sure what else to try! Unfortunately, I need these functions for my job. Someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's stopt these duplicate messages n2olowe! We want to get to the bottom of the issue first. When did the issue start? Do recall if it started after installing a particular app, or software update? Does your phone send duplicates to specific contacts only or all contacts? Have you enabled other SMS applications on your phone, like Hangouts, etc?

Wow, 1yerdua. That's far too long to be having this messaging trouble. We want to find the resolution fast! If you turn off your Lumia's WiFi (Menu > Settings > WiFi), are you still able to access data-oriented applications like Internet Explorer? Have you been to other areas of the state/country and experienced the same trouble?

I am having issues sending and receiving group texts on iphone 5c. I may get texts only from the sender or a few of the recipients, but not all. I spoken to Apple. They are working on the problem but it has been almost two months + and the problem seems to be getting worse. Any one have this issue?

ajspurr, sorry to hear that you're still having some troubles here, but we want to figure this out. If you have already cleared the application cache and data and it's still giving you an issue, we may want to reset the device. Why can't I receive group text messages? I can send group messages and receive a response and texting to individuals works also. My carrier is AT&T

Group messages are considered MMS, not SMS. MMS is transmitted over the cellular (data) network. It does NOT use your data plan, it uses your texting allowance. But data DOES need to be enabled to send and receive group and picture texts.

I had the same issue after the update. Most likely this feature just needs to be enabled. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on Group messaging.

This happens when you both use the same Apple ID for iMessage. You can continue to share the same ID for pruchasing from the iTunes & App stores, but you should be using a different ID for iMessage. To fix this you have two choices:
On one of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID (so you are both using a different ID for iMessage); or
On both phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at". Also uncheck anyone else's phone number, if present.

Anyone having trouble receiving group texts

I am unable to receive group texts. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm wondering if something in the new IOS8 update is making this a problem for me. Thoughts?

No Internet I'm trying to save money and make it to the end of my contract before upgrading. The message, if I receive a message says do you want to download I say yes, and my phone can't do it. Maybe my phone is incompatible. I will do some more testing. Thanks for your thoughts!

I've noticed that this only happens when one or more of the recipients I enter has an iphone and at least one of the others does not. The system seems to fail when it tries to send an SMS text message and an iMessage. The frustrating thing is that I don't get a chance to try to just send all as SMS texts instead.
The only way I found to get around this problem is to make sure that I send to two separate groups, one group with iPhones and another without. Two separate messages isn't ideal, and searching for who has an iphone and who doesn't is a pain, but... until they fix it, I'm afraid this is our only option.

1) My inbox occasionally fills up with duplicates of most (but not all) messages. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind what gets duplicated. Once duplication starts, the messages that appear multiple times usually appear about the same number of repeats (1-5 repeats of each message) but not always exactly the same.
Weirdly, sometimes an incoming mail triggers a refresh that disappears the duplicate messages and everything goes back to normal for a while spontaneously.
I've tried Properties->Repair folder, manually deleting the .msf files, restarting TB, rebooting the computer, restarting the mail server, and changing mail directories. Restarting the server does nothing, the others sometimes but not always resolve the problem temporarily. (all the fixes I could find from similar problems posted by others).
It is quite annoying - not only does my inbox become unreadable, I don't know which instance to reply to.
I'm connected to the same account on the same server with K9 and have no such problems.
Problem 2: occasionally the header of a message in the list pane doesn't match the message in the preview pane. The above fixes resolve this problem to greater or lesser degree most of the time as well, but it always comes back.
Is there a problem between TB and Dovecot? are there any possible fixes?

how can i stop receiving duplicate messages and emails

I have an iPad, and added my centurylink and hot mail accounts to it in addition to my new iCloud add. I get duplicate emails. When I get an email from someone, in a couple of minutes I get the same email over again, I looked at the settings over and over, don't see a way to stop it except deleting the two added accounts, I did try deleting one at a time to see what happen and then I did not get any mail from that account.

When playing YouTube in background the phone stays on and does not auto lock and if it is auto locked and you receive a text it will stay on / lit even in the lock screen

Mine and my wifes iphon 5s is having way too many problems for today's technology, when using iTunes music app from the lock screen if you press pause from the lock screen it stays the same not like before when you paused the music the play buttons would disappear but now they just stay there, and when playing YouTube videos in the background from safari and the phone is in lock screen and you receive a text the screen will stay lit until you turn it off yourself and also the same thing happens in the home screen if your playing YouTube from safari in the background the phone won't auto dim of auto lock after any amount of time it will stay on forever these problems need to be fixed, also the wifi is not working like it used to and the LTE and 3G data are slow, slower then the 3GS when ios 6 came out. Any number of things could have caused the phone to do this. If after the reset you are experiencing additional problems, the next step in the troubleshooting process is a restore from a backup. Make sure you have one before you start the restore process. If that does not improve things, then you may have to restore as a new device. Remember, restoring as a new device will delete all data off the phone. Make sure all of your pictures are imported to the computer and all other data is synced to supported applications on the computer before restoring as new. I can't send or receive group texts after I updated my phone. I do get "get media content now" but nothing happens when I click it.

I am involved in a group message through my Messages application. While I was using iOS7, I would receive those texts, but from the individual numbers of those users, not one group. When I would send a message to all of them together, trying to start a group, my message would only be received by the individual numbers, and not from the group.
Now that I am running iOS8, I have not been receiving those messages at all.
If anyone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.
